Very juicy and beloved atmosphere! But I’d love to have a button to speed up the dialogue.

Very juicy and beloved atmosphere! But I’d love to have a button to speed up the dialogue.
The visuals are amazing! this system could be fleshed out into a full educational game for learning morse code
Great addictive game
I really liked this one. The visuals are super nice and polished and the overall atmosphere of the game is really relaxing and cozy. Nice work!
Cool game, would be nice to have all the controls on the mouse (reset on the RMB etc).
I absolutely loved this one. The vibe was so good and I was thinking the whole time "This would be great if it took a spooky twist" and I was so glad that it ended the way it did! Im sad that there wasnt more but would definitely keep playing if there was more to this game
I love games that use maps and also having to decode things, so this was just the perfect blend of things that i enjoy.
Great job.
Really cool game — super engaging, with great storytelling, and really nice audio and visuals. Simple idea, but the execution is absolutely on point.
It was a bit unfortunate that my cursor kept getting in the way. The game atmosphere is great though.
Awesome atmosphere and really good looking game! Super satisfactory to play!
great simple game, i'd like to see pace to be a little faster but the whole idea is really catchy
enjoyed this a lot! from the moment i saw QBZ as an option i was excited for when it would come up and it hit really well, hope ya'll do more and also +1 for having an option to speed up dialog.
@thedugnutt It's really cool that you made it to the end—I don't think many players have done that Thanks for playing :smile:
Pretty spooky ending, but a lil anticlimactic at the same time. I liked the vibes, felt like Last Report! Btw for certain characters the Morse code just displayed a ? (e.g. Bow's ~ and ' got turned into ?s)
@ordineu Thanks for playing! As for the characters "?" I know — I just didn't have time to fix anything... :(
- Great level of detail with the morse code mechanic, feels great to enter a code, nice UI for confirming letters - Like the coordinate grid, feels good to be useful - Visually the room did what it needed to, putting me in the forest setting-wise, very cute - The story felt kind of directionless up until at least the bear in the cave, the dialogue proceeded slowly and I wished there was a button to skip to the end of incoming transmissions
Really polished entry! Nitpick would be that it felt like the mouse should have been invis/captured by the game and a text speed option would have been nice. Loved the atmosphere, mechanics and dialogue though!! Really enjoyed the twist ending too ;) Definitely could be a full game and I would play the heck out of it. Great job!
The game looks great! The Morse code implementation is really cool.
I wish there was a way to fast-forward through the dialogues. The graphics are beautiful and full of detail. I really liked the music as well. Great job!
such a cute art style !! i loved the vibe created by the visuals and the music. really enjoyed the personality of all the characters and the morse code mechanic. do think there should be a text speed option, as it does get quite slow, but that's my only nitpick ! really enjoyed this !!
I do wish there was a way to input code faster, it felt pretty slow at times, and i would start on a new letter before it confirmed the last one i also wish there was a way to remove the code tip for the forced responses, and you couldnt input while it makes the error noise. sometimes i would mess up on part of a letter but finish it out, which would reset and input into it again causing another error
Really great mood & atmosphere and I feel like I actually have somewhat of a grasp on morse code now, great game !!!
I liked this a lot. A great atmosphere and plenty of little tasks. The coordinates were a fun take. Love me some Morse code! Congrats on a solid entry!
I like the atmosphere and how you managed to create a very good UI. Designing an interface for sending codes isn’t an easy task, but you did it great. It feels like a promising foundation for a whole new game.
Really cool presentation and visuals! Atmosphere was great, and really felt immersive. It was cool to learn something about morse code :grin: Gameplay wise, I guess the whole morse code premise makes for a pretty slow gameplay, which I guess is not for everyone. Also I thought at the beginning there was a bit too much idle dialogues that felts a bit tedious to reply to. And overall the received texts were coming out very slowly which again added to the game's slowness more than necessary. Anyway very well executed game!
A very impressive game for a first jam! Well done!
@ofoof Yeah, a lot of people do mention the text speed- it’s a shame it drags out the playthrough like that :( Thank you so much for the detailed feedback!
I love the atmosphere of the game, and it feels like a great way to learn Morse code too! 🎮
@ofoof I let my friend play our game to see how he'd react, and I was shocked at how fast he typed the Morse code! I'd been typing that Morse code for four days while testing it, and this was his very first time playing the game! Basically, the delay for typing letters is a double-edged —some people type fast, while others, like me, aren't so great at it :D Now I’m thinking maybe I should have included some kind of calibration at the start, like in rhythm games.
@nikiroz Thank you so much! It was a really pleasant experience
@midnightmist Thank you so much! Thanks for playing
A great morse code game. on the itch version i had to fullscreen to be able to turn and see the map, but generally realy nice visuals.
@kayrum thanks for playing! and we really enjoyed your game :)
I really liked the unique art style... sometimes my left click (without holding) would produce a _, and i'm not sure if its just on mine, but overall a good game with a great vibe.
Love the style, and learning Morse code was a cool touch-might actually come in handy someday! Just curious though: if they have computers, why do they communicate via Morse code? Did I miss a bit of the story?
Fantastic game the Morse code idea is brilliant. I didn’t immediately figure out how to enter it, but everything is really cool. I think this game is a perfect option if you want to learn Morse code. Great job, guys!
This was really neat! The cabin has a great atmosphere, and I liked the twist at the end. I did find it to be a little slow-paced, though it got a bit more interesting in the latter half. It also felt a bit limiting how I had no choice in how to respond; I messed up giving Hook the coordinates for the lake, for instance, and the game didn't even seem to notice, implying he made it to the lake just fine anyway.
@Stormdrill Thanks for playing! just a game convention, I just saw a monitor there from the very beginning; it would probably have been more interesting to split them into two small horizontal
@krawa Thank you!
@abiral This is the first time I've heard of this problem; I'm sorry you had to deal with it. anyway thanks for playing!
@python-b5 Thanks for playing! I actually wanted to add more dialogue branches so that your responses would make more sense, but I wanted to finish the story up to a certain point and didn't have time to do that
Very polished entry, and nice learning curve
Very polished! Im super impressed. The atmosphere is really good and i like the sensation of transmitting, i do really wish that the time you needed to pause between letters was shorter or maybe changeable, i struggled with starting the next letter too soon then needing to restart the word.
@pragmascript Thanks for playing!
@illiteratelexicon Thanks for playing! Yeah others already mentioned it, I tried to balance it out somehow :D
Great interpretation of the theme. I agree with other people's comments about the speed being a little slow at times, but yeah, it's kind of inherent to the concept... Anyway, good work. This was enjoyable.
a real hidden gem! the visuals, sound design, and atmosphere are simply excellent! the atmosphere reminds me of Gravity Falls or The Stranger Things. for some reason I want to think that these are teenagers who will later experience some crazy things.
it would be cool to expand the narrative in the future, for example, by adding dialogue options.
a great, polished game!
P.S. Bow is such a pickme :D
@squimmy Thanks for playing!
@aniretti The first sprite we drew was a map, and it reminded me of the vibe from Gravity Falls and Stranger Things too! So, to be honest, I wanted to turn the location into some kind of summer camp... I’m thinking of releasing a post-jam version where I’ll polish the dialogues into something more complete, with options and different storylines. And Bow is just like that OWO Thanks so much for playing!
Great sumbission for the jam! I love the visuals and game design - you did an amazing job here! Sounds are very stisfying and not annoying. But only because of art this game should be top tier for sure. On the other hand I didn't like the camera solution here - it was following my mouse over time, not being in the needed place straight away. Also I was looking around much and missing a lot of the lor and messages, so I think it would be better to add some sort of approval, that message is read. Anyway that's an amazing project which should be highly rated! well done
@denikk Thanks so much for playing! I managed to write the later dialogues a bit better— so you have to confirm them with “K”—and I think it wasn't until then that I finally got a rough idea of how it should all look at its best.
Hey! had time to try your game, I really like the atmosphere in it, cozy forest-keeper house and and old PC but sadly my hands were sweaty and I was misscklicing all the time so at the end I realized that it's too much for me :D Cool idea tho but would be great to have a physical device to send messages - that would give an extra kick to an atmosphere of a game. Oh, and a camera gave me a bit of a motion sickness but mb it's just me :')
@sobigdrasil Thanks for playing! I actually wanted to add an animated telegraph key, but I didn't have time, and I also didn't get around to adding an option to turn off camera smoothing :D
.. .-.. --- ...- . - .... .. ... --. .- -- . -.-.-- Really cool concept. The game has a lot of potential to turn into a really exciting narrative! The ending was intriguing and I wish the game kept going ><
@luka420 Thank you, and thank you for playing!
Love your game! Very cool vibe and art. And idea is pretty interesting.
@nexusasx10 Thanks for playing!
Turned out great!
The game does a really good job of pulling you into the atmosphere (at some point I genuinely felt like I was actually sitting somewhere in the woods, working) super cool! Beautiful and concise game.
But at some point I reeeally wanted to speed up the dialogues 😅
A special thank you. I think I'll now remember how to write K in Morse code for the rest of my life :)
And about the ending: !>very cool, but I'm disappointed. I was hoping for at least a jumpscare :D
@mr-kvinter Thanks for playing! Yeah, I noticed everyone’s talking about speeding up the text, but I was worried it would look unrealistic—like, HOW CAN A PERSON SEND MORSE CODE THAT FAST? I don’t know how to mark text as a spoiler here, so **SPOILER** To be honest, I don’t like horror games, especially screamers, but somehow I originally imagined something creepy like this in my head, so that’s just how it is :D

@hoarime Ahahahahah good one Thanks for playing!
Fellow morse code game :v:
Really like the art style of this one, with the mix of old log cabin and flashy monitor. I think this idea has potential as part of a larger game but just the morse code dialogue by itself is very slow and I think limits how well you can portray a story.
@chybby Thanks for playing! Yeah I agree, it's a bit difficult but feels interesting at the same time
A fellow morse code game! Really cool, the scene looks brilliant, and the actual morse code mechanic is really clean and satisfying. Great work!
The morsing mechanic was very well implemented and simple to get a hang of. Having the alphabet before you at all times definitely helped, and so did the visual "locking in" effect. Some ambient forest sounds would maybe have spruced things up a little, but the general mood of sitting in a wood cabin was transferred well. My main problem was with the story, which felt extremely slow and rather pointless, and the end didn't really have anything to do with the rest of the game. But the length of the game was appropriate and it didn't overstay its welcome :) Congrats on your well-polished entry!
@gmax-games Thanks and thanks for playing!
@gurkenlabs Thank you! Thanks for playing and feedback! We're thinking of making a post-jam version where we'll put everything in order so it looks cohesive, including the story itself
I was really enjoying the game, but then I hit a bug that wouldn't let me proceed. I was trying to respond A BIT in response to the query of whether I was bored, but every time I got to ABI, the message automatically sent, and then I got the same prompt again. It's a shame because I really was looking forward to the story!
The game looks great! The Morse code implementation is really cool.
@carraka this bug exists in the first version, and I hope it's fixed in the fix_second_soflock version and in the browser version on itch. Sorry you stumbled upon it :(
@ao-85 Thanks and thanks for playing!
