LD55 — Summoning

Abyssal Ascent by Hadik 2024-04-22T15:38:53Z

Nice idea. The core gameplay is very solid. Although I couldn't really figure out how to win the game. I kept digging and running out of energy. Maybe a short tutorial screen could help with that.

Well done!

Path of Aratron by nusan 2024-04-16T18:16:21Z

Awesome puzzle game. It's a very interesting concept and the levels are thought out pretty well. It is quite difficult though. Also, it's stunning how polished this game is. All in all a very impressive entry.

Night 333 by MaiMai 2024-04-22T15:44:52Z

I wasn't able to play, unfortunately, since I'm not on Windows. The game looks great though judging from your gameplay footage. I think it's really impressive that you were able to create this in such a short timeframe. Hats off to you.

Underlings by Lexxio 2024-04-16T16:25:25Z

Very pretty game. I love the retro aesthetic of it with its graphics and sound effects. Well done!

Lord of Animals by ffffchai 2024-04-16T17:40:46Z

Super charming game, well done! I love the hand drawn assets. The gameplay is a lot of fun as well and the fruit crafting mechanic is very engaging. My favorite part has to be the exploding hedgehogs ^^ Great job!

Piggy Harvest by sami822 2024-04-16T19:25:35Z

Super fun game! Love all the different piggies. I think the sound design is especially good in this one. Well done!

Ars Goetia by Nekuake 2024-04-22T16:52:40Z

I absolutely love the artstyle of your game! The enemy design, the UI, the blood effects... everything looks so nice and clean. Also big props for the sound design as well. The eerie, yet beautiful humming that plays while selecting sigils adds such haunting vibe to it. Same with the ambient sounds that play while fighting enemies. It's by far the best looking and sounding game I've played in this jam so far. It's a piece of art.

As for the gameplay.. it's simple but fun. After a while it gets a bit broken if you manage to stack a lot of sigils at which point you can basically one hit everything. It also gets a bit laggy at the later stages where a lot of enemies are spawning in. Maybe the amount of enemies could be limited, to prevent this.

All in all I love what you made here. Be very proud of yourself!

Mansion of Dreams by saintchristopher777 2024-04-22T16:16:05Z

I love it! The voice acting is really nice and the game as a whole is just very charming. Also, it's very impressive that you were able to come up with so many different interactions and implement them all in this short amount of time. That being said, the game is kind of difficult. I appreciate you posting a walkthrough. Without it, I wouldn't have made it through.

Nice job!

SUPER NECROLORDS by Dorren 2024-04-16T16:14:43Z

Cool idea. I really like the retro vibe of the game. It's a clever idea to have to balance the power of your minions with the time it takes to summon them and to have to drop your power sometimes to survive. Maybe I missed it, but I feel like there could have been a short explanation of this mechanic though. On my first run I didn't realize that the amount of power I have determines what minions I can summon and I always pressed Q right away. Other than that I had a great time playing.

Pony Summon Quest by brainles etertainment 2024-04-22T15:57:11Z

Cool idea! IMO the gameplay is a bit slow though. I accidentally clicked on the 25-roll tombstone which I couldn't get out of again. An option to open all 25 rolls at the same time would be a nice quality-of-life improvement. Other than that it was quite fun.

The Unholy Rise Of Catthulhu by Nishikku 2024-04-16T20:03:40Z

The artwork in this game is so charming! It just looks amazing. Also well done one the music track.

The game is kind of difficult though (which isn't a bad thing). I wasn't able to get past wave 2.

One improvement I can think of would be to change the targeting AI of the cat towers. Often stop attack enemies with low health and target another one. I think it would make sense if they prioritised targets with low health or that are along the path the furthest.

All in all amazing game though!

Goblimancer! by phost.dll 2024-04-16T16:00:42Z

Fun idea. It took some getting used to, but after a while I was summoning goblins super quickly. It definately feels very rewarding to improve at remembering the combos and executing them quickly.

I wish there was a way to see the different combos while playing the game though. I found myself intentionally dying a couple of times just so I could read the tutorial again. Maybe there could be a mechanic where your character can look at his spell book for a short time to view the combos but he also can't move while doing so.

Overall it's a really fun idea and I had a good time playing it.

God's Apprentice by Kimday 2024-04-16T15:41:31Z

Awesome game! It's a really fun and interesting idea. The graphics a very cute as well. A small improvement could be to display the objectives inside the levels, so you don't have to jump in and out of levels in case you forgot what you had to do. Overall you did a great job!

Crafted Calamities by Sven Walter 2024-04-16T19:40:16Z

Amazing visuals. It looks so nice. The game itself is a lot of fun as well. I liked the idea of using body parts to complete the summuning ritual. You could take this idea of "crafting" your own boss even furter in the future by customizing the appearance and abilities of the boss based on each body part. All in all it's a great submission!

Skelemancy by Shlolo 2024-04-16T17:11:23Z

Thank you all so much for your kind words

Some of you where pointing out a bug where you could move while it should actually be disabled which kind of breaks the game. I reuploaded it to itch with the fix. It should work now.

Also, some of you reported bad performance on the HTML5 version on itch. I addded a .exe for Windows on there as well which should have better performance.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Traction Bugs by TimBeaudet 2024-10-08T17:07:36Z

Hey great job! That was super fun. I gotto say this is probably one of the most unique games I have played in this jam so far. Also, I love the charming graphics. Especially that ant head finish xd

LD56 - Serpent Surge by rayriver 2024-10-08T17:57:28Z

Very nicely polished game. All the visuals look great and the sound design is top notch as well. I just found it kind of hard to grow the sanake though (maybe I just suck tho ^^), since those red aggressive creatures would always kill me after some time and in the beginning you're not fast enough to outrun them either. Other than that, great work!

EMERGENCE by ccollider 2024-10-08T20:05:55Z

Great work! Love the overal eary and dark mood and atmosphere of the game. The great sound design also adds a lot to that. Nicely done!

The Gegnome Project by Brendo 2024-10-08T17:26:31Z

Great work, had a lot of fun. I gotto ask... How to you even come up with such an idea XD. Breeding garden gnomes to harvest and sell their hats is definately not something I've ever heard before, but I love it!

Gacharms by namnam 2024-10-08T20:33:26Z

This is by far the best looking game I have played so far. Absolutely love the artstyle. Very well done! Also, I love that you can just cry for more money when you run out of coins. It's super charming

Blood Crux by Dmitry Kaidash 2024-10-08T20:41:20Z

Game looks and feels great. Love the PS1-style graphics. The main gameplay loop is very satisfying as well. Plays really well and is a lot of fun. Also, adding a leaderboard via the toomstones is a pretty cool idea. Great work, keep it up!

Protect The Ant Queen! by noass 2024-10-08T17:48:20Z

Hey, great job! Very well implemented controls for a troop management game. Sending your army of ants around is quite satisfying. I did find a way to cheese the game though, by placing all your ants directly in front of the spider nest, so they will immediately kill spiders when they spawn and the queen can roam around freely. No worries though, it still was a lot of fun :)

Wrath by MadHumster 2024-10-08T18:25:07Z

Super fun little game. Giving those dabbing passants what they deserve by zapping them with lighting and exploding them felt great  Good job!

Tailor Arena by DeerCat 2024-10-08T19:16:35Z

Great game! I love the visuals. Everything looks top notch. I especially liked the UI to select the body parts to attack.

TinyCon by Briibot 2024-10-08T20:13:37Z

Nice work! Very well done visuals. Looks amazing. The game cound have definately benefited from some audio though. It feels a bit empty without it. Other than that, its great!

Small tip: You can enable a fullscreen button in your games settings on itch.io. Without it players are stuck at the native resolution, which is quite small since it's a pixel art game.

Critter Cannon by Stefan B. 2024-10-08T18:40:47Z

I'm very sorry if I'm getting this wrong, and you guys actually made all those assets yourself, but to me this game gives off a strong vibe of being largely genereated with AI. Obviously it's not against the rules or anything, I just think it is a bit disingenuous to sell AI generated content as your own, since it is essentially stealing from real artists. Again, I'm really sorry if my assumption is wrong.

Other than all that, I think the game is actually quite fun gameplay-whise, so good job on that :)

Kill It With FIRE by Beep Boop 2024-10-08T18:59:05Z

What a great game. Didn't expect to find a lot of FPS games in this jam, but this one fits very well with the theme. I love the nice and responsive movement and the 2.5D artstyle you went for. Also love the joice of music. Fits perfectly with this game. In general the amount of content you mangaged to create in this short amount of time is crazy. I didn't expect to see this many unique weapons and levels.

Amazing work!

Sworm Game by Angrybeard 2024-10-08T19:59:45Z

Great job! Love the aesthetic. Hade a great time with it :)

Tiny Tiny Tribes by James Wilson 2024-10-09T19:38:55Z

Great work! I really enjoyed that. I played for quite a while. The gameplay is a lot of fun. I really enjoyed trying the different unit types. They're all pretty well balanced as well. Also, the visuals, while simple, look great as well. I was especially impressed with the nice upgrade UI. Keep up the good work!

Will of the Wisp by Lachlan James 2024-10-08T19:26:26Z

A very lovely and charming game. It's so nice and calming  Amazing artwork and music/sound design. Fantastic work!

BeeGone by Sylf 2024-10-08T19:37:30Z

Hey, nice job. Controlling the bee with your voice is definately the most unique mechanic I have encountered so far and it's really fun too, although I felt a bit stupid making random sounds alone in my room  Small nitpick: I wasn't able to find the nest after finding all the flowers, so it would have been nice if it was highlighted somehow. Maybe with a path like for the flowers. Other than that, it was super fun!

RPigG by WeirdBitGames 2024-10-09T19:54:16Z

Awesome game! The gameplay is simple yet addictive. I had a lot of fun with this one. Also, I really appreciated the tutorial both on this page and in the game. It explained everything quickly in an easy-to-understand way. Lots of people don't take the time to make a good tutorial, so your game really stood out to me in that regard.

Also, I love the art style. The flat vector art style fits really well with the game and the thick outlines make everything pop.

Great work, keep it up :)

Germinator by Arthurmtro 2024-10-08T16:53:45Z

Great work! I had a fun time playing. I especially liked the smooth animation of the UI. The transition between gameplay and upgrade screen feels really satisfying. One thing I'd like to point out though is that the text is quite big (HAHAHA...) and covers a lot of screen space making it hard to see some of the enemies. Other than that top notch.

Cell Hell by VanLou 2024-10-08T16:58:39Z

Good job! It's a funny little game you made. My final score was 402.

Little Chef by DERRIXX 2024-10-08T19:10:30Z

Good job! A really fun and unique game. I love games with quirky controls like this one. I wasn't able to complete the orders tho, since all the veggies I sliced simply turned into tomatos ^^. No worries though, it's still a good game!

Innocenties Beasties by Mitsukoy 2024-10-08T18:19:46Z

Great job!. What if I find all of them cute though? Jokes aside... it's a really cute and fun little game. Also, is that a Berserk reference?!?

Minisaur Sanctuary by Aleux 2024-10-08T17:17:27Z

Hey great job on your first LD. The game is super cute and charming  I especially like those cute little minigames to take care of your dinos.

LD59 — Signal

Keeper of the Wild Shores by ghpxi 2026-04-21T14:27:37Z

It took me a while to figure out what I needed to do (select the ship first with the correct code and then navigate using the letters), but once I got a hang of it, it was quite fun. A short tutorial explanation in-game or on the itch page would have been nice. Other than that I think thhe concept is really unique and interesting. A very cool interpretation of the theme. Also I love the clean minimalist pixel art style. I always love to see pixel art shaders like this. Very well done!

Lit Up! by Fis 2026-04-21T13:24:04Z

Nice entry! I really like the clean sprites. I also notices the subtle distortion shader on the smoke effect - really cool! I feel like the wall jump could have been a bit more responsive maybe, but other than that great work!

Wi-Fix It by DaniSerranu 2026-04-21T15:31:35Z

I'm really impressed with this entry. The level of polish is crazy. Everything from the visuals to the SFX to the music feels super well made. I loved the Windows 98 theme you where going with. It's really charming the way you pulled it of with all the small references to old computers. In addition to that the platformer gameplay itself was already really well made and fun as well. The controlls feel very nice and responsive. Outstanding work!

Signal Fading by Animaster 2026-04-21T14:09:56Z

Nice work. I really enjoyed the clean and simple art style of both the environment and the UI. The physics-based game play was fun, but as the above commenter already mentioned, the drone is quite heavy and hard to control. Other than than well done!

LowSignal by Twaerd 2026-04-21T13:56:47Z

Well done! The game has a very relaxing/cozy atmosphere and the environment looks beautiful. Good job on this one!

Lidar Signal by Eugenik 2026-04-21T14:44:04Z

Very cool idea with the visualization. It was a bit hard to find my way through the map though. Still nice work!

Ultra Jammed by Jag 2026-04-21T13:39:54Z

I had a lot of fun playing this entry. I loved the destructable/interactable environment and the angry messages from the soccer fans. The 3D assets look really nice and polished. My only critique is that the car controls feal a bit janky, but other than that it was a great experience. Well done!

Shingō | LD59 by april21 2026-04-23T17:36:22Z

Awesome work! The atmosphere and scary vibe is really strong. The visuals and sounds-desgin are very well executed and look/sound really polished. I can see that you invested a lot of time in that part of the game. There isn't a lot on the gameplay side, but that is to be expected given the tight deadline of a game jam. It clearly has a lot of potential though. I would love to see this idea fleshed out with some more content  Really nice work, you can be proud of yourselves!

FixTheDamnSignal! by anszwa 2026-04-23T17:45:32Z

Cute and fun litte game. I love the idea. Nice work!

Once More In Ocean by Magnetism 2026-04-21T14:18:57Z

Unfortunately I didn't really understand what I was meant to do in this entry. I feel like a short tutorial could have been a help. Maybe there is one and I somehow missed it though. Despite that I still enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of your game and the really nice music. The ambient sounds mix really well with the visuals. Good job!

SAVE OUR SOULS by steinhks 2026-04-21T16:01:13Z

I really liked this one. The visuals are super nice and polished and the overall atmosphere of the game is really relaxing and cozy. Nice work!

S3xnal by Xiao Duye 2026-04-23T17:39:49Z

The game was really fun to play. I loved the music and the overall vibe. The Idea with the bottle was really funny. I just didn't know how much money i should make? When do I not get replaced by Felix?

Are We Zer Yet? by TheRealOrb 2026-04-21T13:49:05Z

Nice entry! I liked the concept. It kinds of reminds me of Outer Wilds with how you have to follow music signal coming from different planets. Goodt job!

Birdwatch by LouDev 2026-04-23T18:06:48Z

I really enjoyed this one. I played it through all the way to the end. Once they started switching their hats it really got quite challenging, but in a good and fun way  Very nice work!

I MUST SCREAM by II-P 2026-04-21T14:53:13Z

A really creative idea and nice artwork. I loved the crazy athmosphere of this game. Also, having to manage a growing set of abilities and using them in the right instances is a really cool gameplay concept. Nice work!

RADAR LINE_ by saloid 2026-04-21T15:06:15Z

I'm honestly amazed with how polished this entry is. Everything from the visuals to the audio looks and feels very well made. I did struggle a bit with understanding what I need to do though. Only after trying around for some time did I figure out the gameplay completely. It is a very cool take on the Signal theme though. Nice job!

ENIGMAUS by yodak 2026-04-23T17:44:48Z

Cool idea, but I wish there was a tutorial. I couldn't figure out what I had to do at first but after some trying around I finally figured it out and then it was quite fun. The Cheese cutting was a bit wonky though and I had the feeling i always had to slice the same amout of cheese each time. Still, great work overall!

Laser Beat by Gotlib 2026-04-21T15:44:46Z

I really like this idea. It's a very creative concept that I haven't really seen anywhere else before. I genuinely had fun playing it and I kind of wish there where more levels. Visuals and audio are really nice as well. The only small complaint I have is that there could have been a better tutorial for how the gameplay works, since I needed to do some trial and error before figuring out what I needed to do. But I know it's often hard to fit that into the tight timeline of a game jam. Great entry!

Save the Cat by Andrian 2026-04-23T17:52:11Z

Nice entry! I loved the idea of saving the cat. I felt the overall vibe is really strong. The Zombies sound and look very scray. I just felt it would have been nice to know how much health you have left. The level design was very well done too. The house was big enough that you had to search around for a bit, but at the same time it wasn't so big that you would get lost. Great work!

V de Vision by angelosz 2026-04-23T17:21:21Z

I actually had a very similar idea with echolocation for my game. It's always cool to see someone else's take on an idea  I really liked the hand-draw character illustrations and the music in this one. It's very fitting for the vampire theme. It gives off the vibe of an old Castlevania game which I really enjoy. I think the echolocation feature was implemented quite nicely on a visual level, but I think it could have been incorporated a bit more in the actual gameplay. The combat was a surprise to me since I didn't expect to be fighting all of a sudden. Unfortunately I lost in the end. It was a bit frustrating since I felt like I there wasn't much I could do given the dice-rolling RNG mechanic. Still a very nice entry. Well done!
