Simple idea, great execution. I love the art style, the gameplay feels right, the only factor I don't like is the camera feels a bit slow to control, but overall very fun game !

Good simple strategy with deep gameplay loop. I'd like to see that green trees(?) had some reaction on my action (dragging, +N above them and etc)

I had to lose a couple of times before I really got the hang of it, but my last 2 attempts were pretty enjoyable. I found it to be a really good strategy to just gather a ton of resources right next to your base at the beginning, and then try to take over all the enemy bases at once. It never worked, but on my last attempt, I took over about half the map from my starting base, and it felt really good.

I do think that having a fixed camera with the scrolling removed would have made the game a bit more fun to play. It *almost* fits the entire map at once, and it would have been nice to see all of the bases to keep track of how many resources the enemy was working with.

Good job!

I got an interesting experience, thank you ^^

gameplay is really interesting, so good!

That was cool!

Using bases as stepping stones where you move your minions as you progress further into the map, and having the resource gathering be implemented as an active and kind of "on demand" activity rather than the usual passive style is a neat and unique twist to a strategy game.

Maybe having the bases slowly regenerate minions even when out of energy could be somehow balanced to prevent the player from hard locking the game by running out of energy, but in a way where they can't still just steamroll the opponents through just having a superior number of bases.

And I do agree that having a fixed camera where you can always see the whole map at once would make it more fun and smooth to play. Maybe combined with a fog of war where you can only see the area around your bases to prevent having a perfect situational awareness at all times.

This is a really unique and cool approach to rts. It's pretty hard though... or I'm just shit. I keep getting my arse kicked lol. Would be cool to see you expand on this:)

Really nice game for such a short time. I always like games that make a very limited amount of assets work, and you made it work! The controls felt a bit off, I keep forgetting to right click to change bases, and I didn't figure out how to heal my own bases :( I think this would feel much better with some simple player feedback (maybe a sound, or briefly blink the base white when you select it?)

angrybeard 2024-10-08 20:11

thank you all for your feedbacks! @frogcula, @andrewkennedy, @anobi - yea the camera and playfield could use some work. I was never sure how big the playfield would be until i was nearly finished, and started placing the objects in their final config :)

Nice .io type game, liked it

The art style was simple but fit together nicely. I never fully understood the energy system, but still got pretty far before sending too many troops to battle and then getting overrun.

The music was pretty loud, it would have been nice to have a setting to turn it down.

nice work! i got the hang of it and it was awesome.

Delightful experience ! 🌟 The simple yet captivating concept really shines through, making it a joy to play. The art style is visually appealing, with a cohesive look that perfectly complements the gameplay. I especially enjoyed the active resource gathering mechanic, which adds a unique twist to the usual strategy genre. It feels satisfying to control your minions and strategize as you conquer the map. Though the camera control felt a bit slow at times, it didn't hinder my enjoyment of the game. Having the bases regenerate minions over time could also add an exciting dynamic and prevent players from being hard-locked when resources run low. I appreciate how well you utilized limited assets, showcasing creativity and innovation. The gameplay loop is engaging and keeps you coming back for more. Keep up the fantastic work! 💪

The game is cool. I took some time to understand the meta but i got it ! The camera seems slow maybe some accel or more camera speed would've been cool. I spot some bugs that makes me unable to use minions (with some target switch and fire mode switch the bug disapear probably a statement mistake or an error when you lost a base ?) the music is cool and the controls are simple we even got a tuto ! the game lack of graphical asset and if you don't zoom out you cannot see some bases bc of the ui hiding em. (some position*zoom algo would be able to solve the problem imo) There is my feed back i like the game idea and i give the "bad things" but i really enjoy the game gj ! (Sry for my english O.O)

Love the pixel art. Took a bit of time to get the hand on it but so far having fun !

arcadeeleven 2024-10-10 17:51

Nice minimalistic game, well done !

evindor 2024-10-10 20:17

Very cool idea and solid execution! The game is not easy to beat and the AI develops fast and attacks mercilessly! Great submission!

thesmellofoxygen 2024-10-10 21:53

Difficult! I like the visuals. I think it was a little rough on the strategy side. I'm not sure what the benefit to getting additional bases really was since they were just vulnerabilities and wouldn't automate anything. Seemed better to just spam units at one base until you have a huge pile then crush enemy bases one by one.

mireyu 2024-10-12 13:28

Nice game. :) The concept and mechanics are easy to understand and fun to play, but the difficulty of the enemies could be a lot higher. I was a bit surprised, that I only won after also taking over all neutral bases (instead of just the enemy bases). The description mentioned a "difficulty settings", but I couldn't find it :P

don-fouts 2024-10-23 14:50

Love the concept behind this. I had to turn the audio off because it was a little loud, but I had a good time balancing collecting crystals and attacking bases. Overall I think you did a great job, nice work.
