Nice idea, glad the cat made some sounds, otherwise I think I never would've found it haha. Love the graphic style with the lines when using echo location, nice work!

julester 2026-04-21 13:57

Cool pulsing effect. A tip is to not let NPC's swarm doorways. I couldn't get out of rooms at a certain point.

tay-elenberg 2026-04-21 22:18

The concept is engaging, nice gameplay. Good job!

su-yuhang 2026-04-22 13:50

Great idea and visuals. The character movement felt a bit stiff, though, and the 3D made me a little dizzy. Overall, it’s a very good game. I also never managed to find the kitten in the en

andrian 2026-04-22 14:00

@su-yuhang Thanks for trying out our game! I accidentally broke the animations right before the deadline and didn't have time to fix them — classic jam experience, I guess. Sorry you didn't find the cat in the game, but I really hope you find yours in real life (if you dont have one already)!

andrian 2026-04-22 14:03

@julester Thanks for noticing the pulsing effect! I spent quite a bit of time on it because I had no idea how to implement it at first, so I'm glad you liked it. Also, sorry about the bugs with the doors and zombies — those definitely slipped through the cracks!

andrian 2026-04-22 14:04

@destic I’m so glad you managed to find the cat! Working on the spatial audio was a big priority for me in this project. I’m really happy to hear that you enjoyed the echo effect!

2026-04-22 14:05

I really enjoy your game! It’s interesting, well-made and full of surprises, great work! It takes a lot of effort to make such a fun game quickly. Please come and play our game if you have time, we’d be thankful for your honest feedback, thank you!

n-o-x 2026-04-22 14:06

I like the graphic style, it works well with the gameplay :)

denikk 2026-04-22 14:11

The first time I saw a zombie behind trying to attack me made me scream xD

I like the concept. It feels like I am a "daredevil", who can see with ears. Very minimalistic and nice style. It was creepy for sure. Zombies are not too smart, so I was able to finish game. I really love the mechanic you made, to be able to see when sound is on. Btw i didn't hear a cat until i saw it. Thank you for that game, good job!

andrian 2026-04-22 14:12

@salarium Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I'll definitely check out and play your game later today!

andrian 2026-04-22 14:13

@n-o-x Thanks for the kind words about the art style! Sometimes the best style is the complete absence of one haha

andrian 2026-04-22 14:16

@denikk Thanks for playing! I’m really glad the game sparked some emotions, though I was honestly aiming for a cozy moment with a purring cat rather than zombie-induced heart attacks haha.

Balancing the zombies was a real struggle — they were either way too smart, leaving no chance to survive, or just completely clueless. I really hope the final version didn't end up being too easy!

miclefirst 2026-04-22 14:16

I managed to complete this game. It was an unpleasant experience—but don’t get me wrong, that’s actually a sign of good game design for your idea. The limited visibility and the threat from zombies created tension, so the discomfort felt appropriate. Unfortunately, the zombie movement wasn’t quite right, and they couldn’t enter rooms, which left a lot of safe zones on each floor. Still, my overall impression of the game is positive. I also like your intro—it sets the right mood right away. Great job!

andrian 2026-04-22 14:19

@miclefirst Thanks for the honest critique! I’m definitely aware of the weak spots in our game. This was actually my first time ever trying to create animations, and I accidentally broke everything just a few hours before the deadline.

Still, it was a valuable learning experience, and it definitely made me appreciate the high-quality animations in other entries much more now!

bassilij 2026-04-22 16:50

It's a great idea to immerse yourself in the world of a blind person. I really liked the atmosphere!)

greedy-merchant 2026-04-22 16:50

Very impressive! Zombie hair can be seen all the time, but without them it would be too hard. But overall game is very fun and looks stunning!

itero-proto 2026-04-22 16:53

It's a pity I only play in the web version.

borbi 2026-04-22 17:02

Game looks amazing zombie, looks funny with no animation but hair, i got in this situation where all zombies gather in front of doors to room I was in but luckly after some time they left and I could save cat, grate job to your team! catgame.png

dissonance-generator 2026-04-22 17:19

Fun concept, very immersive.

AI art, though. Really? Feels out of character with the game itself.

venomousmouse 2026-04-22 17:45

Nice and very immersive game!

anete-ainjarv 2026-04-22 18:37

This is such a great entry, especially considering it's your first jam c: I'm a big fan of horror and this game managed to spark that eerie, unsettling feeling you get when playing horror games. Very well done you guys!

pragmascript 2026-04-22 18:54

Very nice for a first jam entry

andrian 2026-04-22 19:00

@greedy-merchant Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Yeah, we’re aware of the hair rendering bug (or rather, the lack of it lol). Let's just say it’s the unofficial 'Easy Mode' of the game for now. Glad you noticed!

andrian 2026-04-22 19:01

@bassilij Thanks a lot! Achieving that sense of immersion through sound and echolocation was a challenge, so it’s great to hear that the atmosphere resonated with you.

andrian 2026-04-22 19:06

@borbi Glad you liked it! I accidentally broke the animations right before the deadline, but I’m relieved it gave you a laugh instead of a facepalm. As for the zombies crowding the door—yeah, I’m aware of that. Guess I need to work on their 'door manners' and teach them how to enter a room without making such a scene! Thanks for playing!

andrian 2026-04-22 19:09

@dissonance-generator Thanks for the feedback regarding the AI art. I actually experimented with making the echo shader more colorful to match the art style, but ended up sticking with the black-and-white look for the atmosphere. I take your point, though — for the next jam, I'll definitely aim to level up (learn from scratch) my drawing or Photoshop skills to create my own assets from scratch. Thanks for the honest input!

andrian 2026-04-22 19:10

@venomousmouse Thank you! I'm really happy to hear that the immersion worked for you. That was the main goal of the project. Thanks for playing!

andrian 2026-04-22 19:11

@anete-ainjarv Wow, thank you so much! Being our first jam, hearing that from a horror fan means the world to us. We’re thrilled that we managed to capture that eerie and unsettling feeling we were aiming for. Thanks for the encouragement and for playing!

andrian 2026-04-22 19:12

@pragmascript Thank you! It’s been an incredible experience for our first jam. We’ve learned so much during these few days, and your support really means a lot. Thanks for checking it out!

2026-04-22 20:49

We used the same mechanic of echolocation haha, cool cool!

perovic2018 2026-04-22 20:51

respect for the mechanics of the echo

andrian 2026-04-22 20:53

@borjaparraga We are echo bros

andrian 2026-04-22 20:55

@perovic2018 Thanks! I definitely spent some extra time tweaking that shader to get it just right

skale 2026-04-22 21:11

Great decision on the visual style, it gives a unique feel to the game. Poor little cat was sitting alone in the house full of zombies :fearful:

eden-zorro 2026-04-22 21:15

I saved the cat! Interesting game, the graphic style is unique. You said that some AI Assets were used in the game, and I think it wasn't necessary. I think you have the skills to do it.

Anyway, I enjoyed it, and I liked how you used the theme.

reverdie 2026-04-23 05:03

It looks very nice :3

rushb 2026-04-23 07:37

Nice) played with pleasure)

sariiger 2026-04-23 10:49

It was short but sweet. The red cat in the image really looks like my cat at home, so I felt extra protective.

umaiit 2026-04-23 12:28

Love the idea and graphics. Also love the story.

nekuake 2026-04-23 12:58

I really like the concept of the game, and all the logic behind the echo-localization must have been tricky to debug I'm sure. Good job!

2026-04-23 14:00

Cool visuals and I like the idea of an echo style game! Nice one :D

andrian 2026-04-23 16:26

@skale Sometimes the best visual style is the total absence of one. Thanks for the kind words!

@eden-zorro Thank you so much for trying our game and saving the cat! Regarding the AI assets: I’ll be honest, I started panicking as the deadline approached. Since I don't feel confident in my art skills yet, I used them to get things finished in time. I promise to practice my drawing skills before the next jam! Thanks again for the support and the honest feedback

@reverdie Thanks for kind words

@rushb Thanks as UE5 dev to another UE5 dev.

@sariiger Thank you for trying our game! Actually, my own cat was the inspiration for this game, so I’m very protective of him too.

@umaiit Thanks for checking out our game! Sometimes the total absence of story and style IS the best story and style... just kidding!

@nekuake Thanks for noticing the echo effect! I found an article on how to implement it and had to adapt the logic for UE5 materials. At first, absolutely nothing worked, but after some of tweaking and tinkering, it finally worked! Glad you liked the result

@grimslinger Thank you! I'm really happy people like the echo effect. It was a bit of a challenge to get it working

shlolo 2026-04-23 17:52

Nice entry! I loved the idea of saving the cat. I felt the overall vibe is really strong. The Zombies sound and look very scray. I just felt it would have been nice to know how much health you have left. The level design was very well done too. The house was big enough that you had to search around for a bit, but at the same time it wasn't so big that you would get lost. Great work!

plutonicrock 2026-04-23 18:09

Such an incredible concept! Amazing interpretation of the "signal" theme and outstanding gameplay! I'm really curious as to how you guys made the echo mechanic and the game map work, design and programming wise :0

2026-04-23 18:38

This game had my hands sweating! Not being able to see properly while zombies crawl around you works really well

captandrey 2026-04-23 20:30

was kinda stressful, but I got it! Interesting concept and good length. Zombies AI sometimes felt weird - for example I tried to lure them into the basement, but they stuck near the entrance and didn't go down

yarcha 2026-04-24 02:23

Not a bad project for a jam.

Interesting mechanics. But unfortunately, the lack of a cooldown on echolocation made my gameplay feel like mashing the F key.

I don't understand why there are zombies in the game. I mean, yes, they can kill us, but I think this mechanic would fit perfectly into some kind of labyrinth with various symbols. Something like the caves in Skyrim.

Anyway, you're great!

technicalitycreations 2026-04-25 10:33

I think the zombies should jumpscare you more, apart from that, good work!

nexusasx10 2026-04-25 15:05

Cool idea and pulsing effect!

ukulelefury 2026-04-25 16:41

AHHHHH, THEY'RE GOING TO EAT ME!!! But, worth it for poor little whiskers. This has such a great atmosphere! Really good sounds, and the spatial audio really makes you feel immersed. I love your outline echolocation shader, it feel really nice (I did a similar thing in my game, and which also has a cat!). The intro video really blew my mind, before realizing that of course you could manage that because of AI! It was a great intro clip. All-in-all a very well put-together game!

chybby 2026-05-03 12:10

I liked the simple style of the game, gave it a spooky atmosphere. I liked being able to faintly see the zombies hair and that they were clearly outlined when walking towards your last ping.

ao-85 2026-05-07 03:03

Great decision on the visual style, it gives a unique feel to the game. Poor little cat was sitting alone in the house full of zombies fearful
