LD53 — Delivery

Grav Garb by Alchemic 2023-05-03T19:33:33Z

Really fun game mechanics! It all feels reasonably well balanced, too, for a weekend jam game! I liked being able to carefully fly backwards through a debris field and turn myself into a giant snake along the way ... though my tail had a tendency to snap around and smash me to bits when I did! The sexy aliens thing is a little weird? but I guess it fits the theme.

De-Liverance of a God by gord10ahmet 2023-05-02T22:45:46Z

Got Zeus to say that something "is well documented in mythology". Hmmm. Also, it's not my place to eat his liver?liver.png

Seriously, though, this feels like the future of gaming right here. I can only imagine where this is going to go, and soon.

Package for the King by MatterLinx 2023-05-05T20:44:31Z

Great game balance and overall style! Polished and procedural map gen! I love it! It seemed like there was intent to let the characters level up?

INTACTâ„¢ by pierogo 2023-05-03T16:14:12Z

Hard! But the audio and visual style all fit together really nicely! I really like the way dashing and package-tossing all flow together off the same contextual control.

Something sort of way to "tape up" your package might help keep a lid on the hardness.

Onboard Hell by Blublu 2023-05-03T17:07:20Z

That music really fits your theme! I love it!

Gravity seems a bit too harsh, esp when there's some planets that you don't have the thrust to directly lift off of... and there's not much of an indicator as to which planets those are until you're already stuck on them! It also took me a couple of plays just to figure out that I had to click the deposit package button and that it wasn't getting auto-delivered when I booped the target planet. Auto-delivery might make sense?

Lexicon by John Kisner 2023-05-04T19:14:10Z

One of the most unique games I've seen on here! But geez, I was never any good at memory games...

Dispatchers by Shiiigear 2023-05-04T17:59:14Z

The creatures seem to be able to get stuck in a traffic jam if they all arrive at a junction at the same time. Also not a fan of the shriek they make when they achieve something - it's a bit grating to hear the same sound over and over.

Micromanager by ZombieWalrus 2023-05-03T16:30:46Z

These game jams! A bit frustrating, when I'm able to walk through some of the trees but not others, and it's not clear which ones I can and can't walk through.

LD55 — Summoning

Courtroom Conjurer by kalibrated 2024-04-18T14:15:03Z

Took me a while to figure out what the scoring criteria was, and I still have trouble quickly seeing what I'm clicking on. A little more in-game description of what the diversity criteria are would go a long way here. Any sort of indication of what I've already collected would be nice too.

It's also mildly frustrating to have to go back to level 1 if I fail at level 4. Can't I just retry level 4 again?

I love all the cute monster sounds once they poof into the courthouse. Definitely a highlight of the game. And your entire game concept is an adorable interpretation of the theme! Much fun!

Cummon Summon by asfdfdfd 2024-04-18T20:04:07Z

Somehow even the very first monster seem to be able to negate damage I'm dealing to them after I've dealt it and heard the damage dealt sound? I'm not sure what's going on here; instructions unclear and it's instantly frustrating.

The music and art are adorable and the sfx are nicely done! I wish the game mechanics allowed me to play this enough to enjoy them more!

Sheep Tunes by kazuo256 2024-04-22T19:12:37Z

I love some interactive layered audio!

The Magic Flute: Bee Proud of Me, Dad! by Carraka 2024-04-18T19:33:46Z

@sarah-vasilides @ugly-robot @fabighindaru Thank you! Almost all of this music was recorded with real voices and instruments (everything except the buzzy bees and the menu music) over the jam weekend. It was really an exhilarating experience writing something in the morning, then having a cellist come into my studio and record it that same afternoon! I'm glad I can share a little bit of that magic with everyone else.

Meteor Portal Siege by GettingRekt 2024-04-22T19:26:57Z

This is a great idea! The simple combination of elements is more fun than the sum of their parts. Nicely done!

Bug: When I didn't click on anything at the "you lose" menu for a while, it suddenly went to the "you win" menu.

Hardcore High School by CaptainDreamcast 2024-04-19T19:41:30Z

What. The. Heck did I just click on!? This has got to be the strangest jam game I've played in a while. I love that there's so much (110% ridiculous) voice acting in here!

A bunch of the voiceover audio clips had an ugly speaker pop sound at the end after you're done talking. Maybe a bugfix version can clean that up? It's narrsty.

Hell's Gate Café by Beebo Studios 2024-04-18T17:40:30Z

It's absolutely cute, but it's tedious. If there's supposed to be helpers I can summon, it was unclear how to get them after several "days" of play and like 500 currency built up. If they just weren't unlocked yet, then it'd be nice to either see how far I have yet to go before unlocking them, or just unlock them quicker. Three or four days of the same thing with no visible progress got boring.

The "hitboxes" could be a bit bigger, too, just so I don't have to line up exactly with things to get them to work.

Stars Align by cassowary 2024-04-22T13:41:14Z

This is great! All the more impressive that you had the time to throw some pleasant music together while putting this game together all yourself over a single weekend!

Drag Me From Hell by No Grapes Games 2024-04-19T19:03:28Z

Demon waifu. Classic!

It wasn't terribly challenging, though, and the buffs/debuffs didn't seem like they affected the gameplay in a terribly useful way. I wish I'd had an easy way to tell how many shots were left before a reload, though the game wasn't ever really hard enough that that became critical.

The gameplay itself was super smooth and it all fit together nicely.

Necropets by gasgiant 2024-04-18T20:28:49Z

I'd really like the items to be introduced to me one at a time with a little bit of info on what each one can do, so I might understand my strategic choices quickly. Once I figured them out, this turned into a nice bit of fun!

I love how you're putting some humor and silliness into something so sad!

Poltergeist for Hire by JudJudson 2024-04-18T13:55:11Z

Push-pull physics sandboxes are always a hoot! But the summoning felt like a bolt-on DLC rather than a core game mechanic; I was able to complete everything without ever touching that feature.

I'd love to see more content in this little world. It feels like the beginning of something deeper.

Zoomancy by ugly_robot 2024-04-18T15:06:33Z

Well that's cute as heck. It's hard to draw these things well with a mouse! I sorta want to use a touchscreen or stylus or something for this. Also, +1 for a goat asking things of you!

Steel Showdown by nicorm 2024-04-19T19:24:47Z

This is fun, and it looks great for a jam game!

I wish there was a bit more variety to the gameplay, or maybe more than one level. You guys ought to try and bring an audio/music person into your team for your next jam; more varied sfx and some music can really change the mood of a game.

Aphantasia by Bitlytic 2024-04-18T17:56:34Z

The music is delightfully serene, and the sfx fit perfectly with the old-school platformer vibe. The game gave the perfect amount of guidance and handholding. I want to do more with these abilities and come up with some creative ways to combo them, BotW style!

Thundersnow by Bluepir 2024-04-25T14:54:45Z

Cute! I definitely wish there was a bit more I could do with it.

Ancestor Rain by ELLISBUG 2024-04-19T18:49:22Z

The voiceover! Niiice! And the squeaks when you miss a note! A fun touch!

The musical interactivity here is fun! though it doesn't entirely feel like I'm in control of it? You've come up with a different approach to providing musical interactivity with a limited number of inputs from what my team came up with. I love the creativity here.

And the ending! Or, at least, the ending I got! That poor fish! As a musician, you'd think I would be better at rhythm games!

Faust by HellHound 2024-04-19T20:02:14Z

The swapping mechanic is great - it reminds me of It Takes Two, but for one player. Gotta get both characters all the way through, but they'll have to take different routes. I appreciate the in-game guidance early on as I'm learning the ropes. It makes everything flow naturally. All the details - the particle effects when your weapon smacks something, the parallax background - are great!

The reflections seemed to be off, though? My reflection was somewhere off in front of me at one point. It was mildly disorienting.

Circle of Life by UniOwl 2024-04-19T21:19:57Z

Well this is fun! I like the layers of complexity in gem type, rotation, placement, etc. This rune mechanic has a lot of potential!

It quickly gets to be really difficult to get anything working though, once there's three different colors of gem lane and the bad guys are hitting really fast. If I could pick up and move gems after they're slotted, that might reduce frustration.

I also wish I could see how much health everything has the way I can see their speed and power stats.

Sir Lancelittle by BaggerSmurf 2024-04-22T12:53:54Z

When you need laser sfx but haven't got access to a real eyeball laser, this works great! All your sfx make me smile like a little kid and I love it! The music is on point, too - it helps build a bit of a Monty Python-ish feel to all of this.

Succubi Slayer by Lonthy 2024-04-22T19:45:01Z

This is a fun concept! Next jam, you'll be able to build on what you've learned here. I want to see this drawing concept used for so much more!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Ponding Experience by Carraka 2024-10-22T22:50:51Z

@gamedevtraum Yeah I loved recording all those nom sounds - that's my wife being silly. One of these jams, I'll come up with some blooper audio and make an easter egg out of it and you can hear the sounds that were too silly to make the cut!

Mantis Melee by thormoth 2024-10-17T22:44:11Z

Made it to lvl 14, then to 33! Everything worked great and felt well thought out. This is one of the best pixel art jam games I've played in a while! The only bugs I could see were the ones fighting on screen!

Backpack Dungeon by Neon Glass 2024-10-16T21:19:26Z

Great concept! Took me a couple tries to understand that the picks would dig on their own and needed to be left alone to do so. Some sort of indicator about that would make this just a bit easier to comprehend quickly. Once I got the hang of it, I managed 80m. It's satisfying, and the chill music suits it nicely. If you keep developing this, I'd love to see more SFX - rock sounds or the picks making cute creaturey sounds, or additional powerups/items along the way.

Tiny Ecosystem SimulatoR by Zliebowitz 2024-10-21T16:12:21Z

Rabbits and squirrels can really take over! Nothing else seems capable of reproducing, though, so a key part of this simulation is missing. Is there any sort of intended win condition or scoring system here?

Bunnies also seem comically small compared to squirrels - not sure if intended?

Moon Picnic by Fractal 2024-10-18T19:11:50Z

Well this is hilarious! I wish I could use the keyboard to pick the other abilities while I'm still clicking bugs with the mouse - it seemed like I should have been able to (1-5 keys, maybe?)

Antonio by benjaminm 2024-10-21T15:20:31Z

Darkness is neat and moody, but it's not clear what I'm supposed to be doing or what these right-click and left-click abilities do in game.

Cyber Critter by rucksack 2024-10-17T19:11:32Z

Fun and well put together! I wish there were more piece types to choose from!

Music style seems strange at first, but it sorta goes with the cyber frankensteining theme. The smooth music shifting between different beats for different game phases is a great touch!

Bee Incremental by SharpLoaded 2024-10-18T14:07:30Z

Beeeeees! Absolutely adorable! For a solo effort, this is super smooth. Everything feels right. I wish there was more audio anything to this game - music, bee sounds, anything.

Little Critter Pizza by Turquoise Moon 2024-10-18T14:20:15Z

There's not much to this, but what's here seems to work real well. It's like a little single slice serving of Overcooked. I could imagine getting a little more playability out of the elements you've already got here.

Tiny Defender by AdrianGray 2024-10-21T15:52:32Z

Unclear what anything does or how to interact with this game. Clicking doesn't seem to do what I expect, and there's no instructions.

Music, at least as far as I've been able to hear so far, is cute but repetitive.

BeetleWars by Kaspjej 2024-10-09T16:00:51Z

Cute sound effects!

Doesn't seem to be much game balance here and the enemies never made any attempt to do anything other than wander around aimlessly. It's a fun concept, and if the opponent did anything, this could be good.

La Révolution Francheese: Bonamouse by MrBananaz 2024-10-21T17:53:02Z

I love the music! It's so perfect for what you're doing here!

I wish the gameplay felt so fun. That sliding movement was really strange and unnatural for a mouse. Once the rats start coming, it's just a wall of them and it doesn't really feel like there's a fun way to do anything about it.

Sheepwreck: Mutton Meteor Mania by Kevinary101 2024-10-21T17:39:04Z

Control scheme feels a bit unnatural, but it's simple enough. Game started stuttering after about 30 seconds - that's no fun.

Roly Poly Derby by bertobui 2024-10-21T13:08:59Z

It's not totally clear what some of these upgrades do, though I do think I feel some effect. What's multiple levels of decoy? Do they hit harder?

No matter, this was some good cute fun! The concept is great and the progression works really well. I love your art for this, just wish there was any kind of audio at all to go with it.

Dwarf Ant War by volish 2024-10-18T14:12:04Z

I want to love the idea here (dwarves and bugs? YES!) but I can't really tell what's going on or what I'm supposed to be doing. The hammer doesn't seem to be able to hit any of the bugs on the ground.

LD57 — Depths

The Sunken Treasure by strong99 2025-04-17T15:48:48Z

It looks like the debug tools are still accessible? Sometimes I'd fish in the middle of what looks like a school of purple fish, but when I reel one in it's something else instead - a tuna, a jellyfish, etc. Bug?

The cargo crate swimming up to the fishing line and politely grabbing on is a really strange mechanic. Unclear what the lights are for?

I found what looked like those Rosemary crates, but they swam away through the ground and didn't come back.

I appreciate the unique weird, threatening music. I wish the loop was longer - it gets repetitive really quick.

Drill Crew by lectvs 2025-04-11T18:10:37Z

That's a lot of bats!

Impressive as all heck for compo. Wish there was a place to stash gems, or upgrades for the drill (auto bat blaster, anyone?)

How the Moon Got Its Colors by Carraka 2025-04-11T21:15:24Z

@toppervideogames Something like half of the team are orchestral musicians; audio is all I'm here to focus on :smirk:

High Pressure Arena by HexStart 2025-04-11T17:23:37Z

Satisfying gameplay! I wish the audio felt better connected to the game.

High Pressure Arena by HexStart 2025-04-11T19:19:38Z

The torpedoes have a nice sorta underwater-ish sound to them but it doesn't otherwise feel like we're underwater. I guess I'm expecting some sort of occasional bubbling ambience or something, even if that's not necessarily what you'd hear if you were inside a real submarine.

D.E.P.T.H. - Door Evaluation Protocols & Testing Hub by Sylf 2025-04-11T19:00:39Z

I'm a pill with a mustache! Where'd you get this model of me IRL?

This is so nerdy and positively adoorable! Text was too small and hard to read - not sure which door to put that in?

Deepnaut by Patrykgazing 2025-04-14T16:04:34Z

The controls feel great, and that underwater ambience is the best I've heard so far this jam! I love the silly sounds some of those monsters make. You've got so many of them!

Seems to be a bug in progression, though, after I unlock minimap? Can't unlock anything else after that even once I've got enough points?

Depths of Color by threegoldeneggs 2025-04-11T16:22:31Z

Another color depth game! Yay!

LD58 — Collector

WonderBot: A Lofty Return by mortusnegati 2025-10-16T17:06:35Z

Well that's cute!

Stuck with 1 dust remaining and I'm not sure it's there - rounding error?

The face on the robot's butt does make it seem like it's going backwards the whole time, but, ok. Glad I'm not the only one to put googly eyes on my robot vac!

LD59 — Signal

Look for The Signal by Almax 2026-04-24T16:38:28Z

Atmospheric as heck and looks nicely polished for a weekend jam game! But I have absolutely no idea what I'm supposed to be trying to do here. I guess that's wasting time?

Radio MoleBat by ectucker1 2026-05-04T15:05:53Z

Reminds me of that laser chess board game. Cute, and everything works smoothly. I kept waiting for any music to turn up and it didn't :(

Goobers by Alopar 2026-04-24T21:03:07Z

Your graphics and animations are adorable! I wish your music was as much fun. Bird powers feel a little underwhelming against bugs (can't a bird just eat the spider?) but it ends up being balanced enough to make it to a victory screen - felt like I wasn't keeping up at all until suddenly I'd won.

Too Many Goblins! by Tykki19 2026-04-21T21:19:09Z

Fun! This graphic style is perfect for what you're doing here. The signaling mechanic is a new twist on tower defense - and a hard one, when there's multiple streams to deal with! Multiple overlapping towers - esp with the missile launchers in play - seemed to result in wasted overkill flares. Can I target just machine guns vs just missiles?

Fellowship of the Signal Fire by OttoBroccoli 2026-04-21T13:46:08Z

Gondor calls for aid! Yes! I love the concept here and the aesthetic is perfect. Are the music and SFX yours, or from libraries?

Gameplay feels flat - the enemy never seems to present a real challenge when gold production scales so quickly. Maybe if the enemies had a way to steal your gold too?

Save the Cat by Andrian 2026-04-22T17:19:35Z

Fun concept, very immersive.

AI art, though. Really? Feels out of character with the game itself.
