best game ever
Nice concept and artwork, but I feels like there aren't much strategy when I am playing.
Great job! The gameplay felt nice and there was a nice variety of attacks. Felt just right to have a sense of strategy but often just spamming clicks works fine when cornered (which is a good thing in my opinion). Good job guys!
Nice game! Cool music and grphics. I love the idea that Sir Lancelittle doesn't acually know what he is doing XD
Very nice!
This was fun, the sound design is top notch, great combination of sound and art
Love it. Sound effects are hilarious. I think the hit box of each weapon can be showed in advance on the floor or sth. It's a bit difficult to aim at the moment.
This isn't the sort of thing I usually play, so I'm terrible at it and can only clear a couple rooms. But the amazing sound effects certainly motivated me to keep going!
Enjoyed the laser-eye enemies as they meant I had to keep moving and not just stand still spamming buttons and hoping for the best.
@teahands that was indeed the idea of the laser-eyes. Great to hear it worked out as intended, thanks!
This is a fun idea! Great job and loved the sound effects! :)
lovely sound design, i enjoyed the silly attitude a lot! only issue is that i struggled with understanding hit boxes of the enemy, so some indication where i will hit before i cast my attack would have been nice, otherwise great job!
Nice game like Isaac :) Fun sounds :) Very fun with pushing pepe wizard :D
The first funny game that made me laugh out loud (the sound effects were so humorous), and while I was initially attracted to the abstract graphics and effects, the combat was just as fun and had a turn-based feel to it
SFX are awesome and the gameplay is smooth. Adding cards to the deck would sometimes cause multiple of them to be added, including the unwanted ones. It would also be nice to have a mechanic to remove cards from the deck.
Overall, pretty fun!
Nice game with brilliant weapon voice acting! It would also be nice to add some one-time use cards to the deck for healing or buffs (closer to the beginning)
@rexagon There is a secret shop room that offers healing ;) Thanks for playing!
Couldn't beat the boss! Gah! But it was fun, I like the sound effects
As someone that does not very often play games, I loved it that I could practice moving around and casting my magic before the actual game started, much better than just reading a tutorial with the controls. I love the cute-looking art style and you have some very funny ideas for weapons. The slime was my favorite :)
@denideni fun fact: the sound of the slime is blowing bubbles in yoghurt :)
You went all in with those sound effects - liked it =)
Liked the game. Some spells hard to hit with, but it still was satisfying. Music is 5 - 100% Thank you for submitting!
Cool! If you had written the music yourself, it would be cooler! It's interesting to play. When taking new cards, the ability is triggered, which is a little frustrating. The graph is a little unclear where the doors are!
The graphics are simple, but that's good. Interesting idea. At first I couldn’t find the door, but it turned out to be from below 😊
It is really fun game! Especially I like sound effects=) The only thing that is missed(IMHO) is health potions because it is extremely difficult to keep at least some health for the boss fight
slime is the greatest weapon , melee weapons are so weak, nice game idea ,so funny and attractive, love this game so much, best music as well
@olddog Thanks for your feedback and great to hear your opinion. We personally love the blizzard and the whip, so it's cool to hear you have different experiences!
I liked the mix of deckbuilding and dungeon crawling
Awesome game, love the mix of genres! Also the sound effects are hilarious. It's really imbalanced in that I can just spam click without regard for which weapon is coming up since there's no cooldown to them. The idea itself is really great and I hope it gets expanded on. Great job!
The sound effects are top notch! The music's funky too! A silly as this game and art style is trying to be, I can see a lot of potential here, it's got interesting mechanics that WORK!
@gleb-yakovlev I spent so much time trying to work out that 'attack during deck building' bug, but no solution we came up with actually fixed it. We share your frustration! Thanks for the feedback!
Gota say it the sound effects are :french_bread: :chefs_kiss: top of the line, as for gameplay it was fun and enjoyable, i did like that i could gain what abilities i could use as cards good job
Good lil roguelike, sound effects are funny and spamming abilities is fun, well done
Died a few rooms after the first boss! Fun take on the theme, and the name Lancelittle is very funny! Great entry!
Fun idea! I think this will be great fun with more refined animations once you can judge what the enemies are about to do. Had fun building my "rain god" deck. Good work!
Nice audio and nice game. If improved upon could be even more fun than it is right now. Good job!
Thanks a lot for all the responses!
love everything about the game, it's fun, unique and very humouros with the sound effects, Good Job!
The audio sounds for the monsters and using the spell cards were amazing, I wasn't expecting it but was pleasantly surprised! I loved the graphics as well, it really fit with the audio too, the audio made me feel like i was in the medieval era, you captured everything perfectly! Good job!
Loved the game, a lot of fun! The audio is very enjoyable and gives me inspiration to add sounds to my next game :)
Thanks @congeesetador and @k4su!
I liked it. Though, I would like to see some summoning monsters! Over all, pretty fun game. Audio is cool, but when I put the blizzard it spams the "UGH" so hard xD I would love to see your input on our game as well!
Interesting idea with diverse abilities with each successive strike. Great job!
Nice sound effects and I really liked the idea, it needs polish but the core idea is pretty fun, the laser eyes combined with the character stopping when attacking make a little to deadly combination in my opnion, nice entry!
The random weapon each time you attack is a lot of fun, reminds me of some mods for dark souls that equip a new weapon each second haha At the end I had a lot of slimes to my deck and it was amusing to flood the map xD
Fun game! Reminds me a lot of Binding of Isaac. My only issue is that sometimes clicking on the UI causes an attack to go off. So if I save my next attack for the next room, by adding a new card to my deck it consumes the card I was saving previously. Overall a good game, good job!
Very interesting concept of your game. The idea of summoning powers and weapons in sequence opens up some fun possibilities. The graphics are functional, as is the sound. It's a simple project, but really fun.
Congratulations!
I didn't get to finish it (a room full of eye-monsters sealed the deal for me), but I liked it. Especially the beautifully mouthcrafted soundeffects of said eye-monsters. :D
Jokes aside: Solid entry. If you want some constructive criticism: - I'd give some visual feedback the moment the dash is recharged, like a little flash or something; it'll make the game feel way more controllable and responsive - When you switch rooms and are presented with your new cards, choosing one automatically casts the next card. A very minor thing, but fixable for a little more polish :)
Altogether I enjoyed it, good contribution! :)
Really nice done roguelike, I love the audio sounds xd So fun!
@shanzhai Thanks for your detailed feedback and constructive criticism! Indeed we were planning to do some indicator like a circle or something to indicate your dash was recharging (as well for a weapon attack as you can spam the weapon a bit too much currently). Also the fact that when you choose a new card the currently equipped card is being summoned was a bug we didn't manage to fix within the jam. There's a whole load of other things we wanted to add/change/balance but overall we're quite happy with our result as first time jammers. Thank you so much for playing and commenting!
Fun game, the SFX were great I really like how I could tell that there was a lot of effort in this. good job and may the LD raters click high star numbers on this page.
Really liked the game! Hope you make lots more in the future!
Really liked the game! Hope you make lots more in the future!
Great title!
Difficult to understand where my damage was coming from and the deck system is not immediately obvious. Starting with nothing and getting one card and progressing through a deck would be a more intuitive way to teach people this system. I want to like it though, I hope you continue to support it to smooth out gameplay.
Cool sounds, espesially sounds of monsters. I like this gameplay and whole game
Lovely game! Had a lot of fun while clearing rooms and audio of monsters is awsome!
The concept is there and it's fun, the graphics and sound design are simple, and the music is awesome.
Solid game, I enjoyed it and the summoning mechanic is certainly a cool take on the theme!
Solid concept! It took me a second to understand what was going on but I really love the chain of memories-ahh card system you got going! Unique take on the prompt, great work :) The enemy art is very silly
Nice Game,I like the random weapon system,I like the sound effects~
It would have been nice to have more types of weapons, I think they are too few. Still, a lot of fun. Good job!
one of the best game I've played so far!
@stormblessed Do we have a Brandon Sanderson fan in here? If so, you might have an idea where the inspiration for 'summoning' weapons came from
@ashketchdem YES. I am a HUGE Brandon Sanderson fan. you are the first person to notice my name! Also, the 'summoning weapons' is a really cool game mechanic. Good job.
Great submission. I enjoyed all the sillyness, and the gameplay made me want to keep trying til I beat it.
@stormblessed I'm halfway through Oathbringer so when I heard the theme was 'summoning', my first idea was how to implement the summoning of "shardblades". Thanks for playing our game!
It's a great concept, nice game.
great game, reminds me of isaac, i died at the next floor after the boss because of lack of regen it's challenging but a bit too much hehe loved the music so much
The deck system was cool and the room system too! Wasn't too hard nor too easy, overall good game!
This was fun! I didn't understand how the card aspect related to the theme (summoning weapons?). I also felt like each weapon could have been more distinct (maybe a long range one vs short range) I found myself just button mashing
Really liked the concept, although it was a little rough. The player movement felt a little off. I really liked the selection of the items that got summoned. Thanks for making the game.
Whoa, some real chaos is going in this game. And audio is terrifying. Sorry, I meant terrific, I kinda liked it.
Fun idea, loved the sound effects. Liked the idea that every attack was a random card in a deck, it forces the player to adapt and think quickly, that mechanic could be expanded a lot. Fun that you got a boss into the game aswell. Overall good work!
Great submission!
Straightforward to understand but still managed to be very fun. Appreciated just how much choice the player had when making their decks, really helped to make me feel like I can play however I like.
The art style and music were also pretty charming.
Overall awesome work!
This one has great sound design, loving the hurt sounds. The deck building aspect feels off but I'm not really sure what else to replace it with either.
It'd be nice if the enemy spawns had a lasting marker until they have actually spawned and if the beamers had some form of anticipation right before they attack instead of an instant laser.
Cool stuff, quite enjoyable!
@coderaurus thanks for the kind feedback! We gave the laser eyes little red dots showing their aim, which would stop moving shortly before the laser shot. But I get that that indicator would need some work :p
@baggersmurf OH! I thought it was my cursor... Silly me.
A good game, I would have preferred to be able to choose the cards to include in the deck and maybe even discard some of them, but I understand that programming so many things is not exactly easy. However, you can still try to improve it because there is a good starting point! Great job!
Really interesting idea, fits great with the theme! I think the combat system could have been polished a bit more, since it's often difficult to understand how different weapons will move and their hitboxes.
@nuanda79 @tommy Thanks for your feedback! We definitely would've loved to add more to the game, but unfortunately this jam is only 3 days! We had plans for card leveling, more attacks, some way to indeed remove cards from your deck, more enemies, and actually some run-to-run progression. Then we also wanted to add classes (start with more magic attacks or sword attack or a mix) but the weapon pool we managed to include was too little (and so was the time) to implement this. We decided to offer as much of the game in our final submission to get the general idea of the game across. Once again thanks for the feedback and congrats on your own submissions!
Cool ideas, and it mostly came together pretty well. I love all the goofy sound effects. Great job to the team!
Very fun game! Top sound effects!
Sir Lancelittle, we need a CROSSOVER with my Adventure of Seeker XD
This reminds me of old flash games :)
The game can be more dynamic, The game is nice well done :)
Though inconsistent, Sir Lancelittle's attacks are too powerful for a man of his skill level haha. I like the simplicity of the concept and the execution. The sound effects made me chuckle. Good job!
Very cool! Very much liked the little sounds. The deckbuilding part seems like a good idea in theory, but there was not much choice or strategy. Nevertheless, fun entry!
At last I can vote for Humor!
When you need laser sfx but haven't got access to a real eyeball laser, this works great! All your sfx make me smile like a little kid and I love it! The music is on point, too - it helps build a bit of a Monty Python-ish feel to all of this.
interesting game! the attack deck idea is neat, but right now choice of weapons doesn't really matter, since you can just spam attack with no penalty. it would be cool to see different weapons having different cooldowns
Very rough and janky, but a really cool idea!
Super funny. Really love the sound effects! The game play is simple but still fun. One of my favorite games.
Fun concept! loved spamming the summons to tackle the enemies, just wished there were a bit more of a progression with the enemy types. For example I started the first room with all eyeball laser enemies and the next room was a few flies.
