I'm just gonna be honest... I'm stuck at the blender room. I don't know what to do. I've been trying for like 5 mins and I give up, I'm sorry... It kinda sucks when you try to summon or make something and it gives you the same generic item like the child for summoning or "a recement of what once was" for the blender. I get why you did it, but it's just annoying for me.

Maybe it's just a skill issue on my part though. It is always great to start and finish a project, whatever that project may be. Most people don't even get as far as you did - they give up. So props to you making and publishing your project!

I wish you the best of luck in you gamedev journey!

Interesting concept. I like the idea of ideas association.

flokami 2024-04-16 13:48

Nice little puzzle game, undoable without the solution I think, but the fact that the solution is provided is nice ! Very fun overall

the4thcircle 2024-04-16 13:54

this is a smart concept, as a puzzle it feels like it needs more clues, at the moment it's not really got a logical through line, just dragging and dropping everything until something new is made. trial and error. Also it feels like theres a lot of empty space and you're dragging tiny icons into tiny boxes. it could be more forgiving with the placement.

trogdor-20x6 2024-04-16 14:04

Definitely would help if it was a little easier for a game jam. A bit too much chained moon logic, I think. I got stuck as early as needing a minty drink. Some quality of life improvements: don't destroy an item when it's failed, just play an error noise, maybe auto-collect and don't allow duplicates of imaginary friends in inventory. When dragging into a box, if you're a few pixels off, allow for snapping to the closest box instead (several times I dragged an image to be centered over the box, but my cursor wasn't technically over the box so it snapped back).

I liked the art well enough, and I liked the custom audio. The narration could've been a bit faster, I think. Text could be bigger.

Game reminds me of Cultist Simulator.

cats-in-jackets 2024-04-17 10:12

Wasnt able to progress past well room, dont really know what to do, but it was interesting untill than

kristinamay 2024-04-17 10:53

Was the art supposed to appear in the different rooms even if they weren't unlocked? As it stood I couldn't figure out how to do anything, I moved my mouse around and sometimes found hover highlights in different rooms that I think are probably things I could interact with? But it was all a grey fog for me. Which is too bad because I love puzzle games and games that involve exploration and just trying things (someone above me mentioned Cultist Simulator, which is a favorite of mine).

saintchristopher777 2024-04-17 12:15

Thanks a ton for the feedback! I DEFINITELY made it too hard, lol. Barely had enough time to finish it, let alone try to do balancing. I've updated to add some tooltip clues as well as include the full walkthrough in the game itself.

Elements are reused in these gradually unlocking puzzle rooms, very nice level design. I love it when I figure out the solution on my own, but I have to say that the hints are useful too. Nice work.

zyntist 2024-04-18 00:51

The mood and art are so cool! Effects a bit hard compared with the music but the options are helpful for that. The game is quite challenging as I couldn't overcome the well. Maybe I'm too asleep! Anyway great job for the time we had T.T With a bit more polish this could be a ver enjoyable puzzle game :)

quinn-davis 2024-04-18 00:56

~~I am intrigued by this game but I seemingly can't progress past the second room. The walkthrough says that the wisp unlocks the garden but the only two unlock squares that are available need "something glowing" or "something fresh and minty" and the wisp is rejected in both.~~

I figured it out, had to put the dream in the summon box.

After figuring out the mechanic of needing a certain mood to summon the right thing I made it to where I need to summon a robot but the word salad makes me curious instead of focused. I had fun with it and enjoyed figuring out the clues.

nightrane 2024-04-18 01:21

Nice game! I don't think I could've done it without the walkthrough, so thanks for that. It took me a few rooms to get the idea of the game, a small tutorial would be helpful.

The music really set the mood, but became repetitive so some more variation would be great. The sfx added a lot but were too loud in comparison.

I agree with a previous comment about the narration, it would help if it was a little faster, and/or if while it played, you could continue playing rather than having to stop and wait for it. I think it would be great if the narration happened at the very start as well to introduce it as a concept from the beginning, it really helped to characterize the player character. I didn't love the breaking of the fourth wall at the end, because I liked the feeling of being in the magical world the game created.

Super cute and fun when I got into it, I felt like there was a more to be explored if I wanted to replay it.

saintchristopher777 2024-04-18 01:34

@nightrane Thanks for the feedback! There actually _is_ an initial narration; I think you played the game during a brief window when I had up a build where I accidentally had it's trigger disabled. Oops!

And yeah, the music is repetitive. I'm not great at making music so a short loop was all I was up to doing! That's partly why I included volume sliders in the options though!

zhirui 2024-04-18 02:49

Nice game! I had fun unlocking the different rooms. My feedback is that the walkthrough is difficult to read through at times so an option might be to make the walkthrough an interactive checklist that updates as you progress through the game.

twoe 2024-04-18 03:07

Very neat idea! Felt like a flash point and click adventure game. The visuals were also really cool as just minimal little drawings. It was also a bit like recipe games like little alchemy but the addition of moods made the recipe chains more interesting.

smilewood 2024-04-18 03:12

Cool combo-logic game. Some of the connections were a bit tenuous and I was very thankful that you had a hints section when I was stuck, but the riddle hints with each lock were generally very good. I liked the concept of exploring the mansion with various others, although the distance between rooms felt a bit big at points, going from the top to the summoning circle the multiple times it took to solve was a bit much. Overall I think this is a great puzzler, well done!

dojoloach 2024-04-18 03:38

Pretty neat game! I like the concept and the storytelling the items do. Some combos were very hard to figure out, but some were also doable, and made me feel clever.

mitur 2024-04-18 08:16

No way I would've beaten this by myself  Good thinking of including a full "help" page

zombiewalrus 2024-04-18 21:24

Great idea! It is cool to investigate connections and try to mix up different stuff. Loved a voiceover also, adds a lot to the atmosphere.

st00nsa 2024-04-19 09:11

Cool idea. I think it's the first game with the voiceover I like in LD. Great entry.

weine 2024-04-19 14:38

Great voice acting, and ok-ish difficulty (I was able to solve most puzzles without the hints). Having the hints available was needed though, otherwise i think I'd have given up before I understood all the mechanics.

ice9 2024-04-19 15:36

As others have said, it's a bit difficult  But I like the concept. Maybe with more time the tooltip clues could be a bit less specific (they read like exact instructions with words swapped for other words). The mood based on eating things was also maybe a level of complexity that wasn't needed. Or could have been a feature that was introduced later on?

Overall a fun idea though. Congrats on putting it all together in time on your own!

aj-atkinson 2024-04-19 21:52

It's an interesting concept. I think some further polishing of the ui might make it a bit easier to progress. But I found it genuinely hard to figure out how to play at first. Once that was figured out it was fun to try the different actions and combinations available.

I applaud the choice of using voice over narration. Haven't seen that in another game in the jam thus far!

kiddy 2024-04-19 22:41

Really cool, a bit hard but the help panel help me a lot.

chispalbc 2024-04-20 20:59

Good things: voice acting is really cool, and the help option is really helpful! Also some of the actions in the puzzle were fun and i really like this kind of "scape room" puzzles Bad things: Kinda confusing at first, the mood mechanic is kinda weird, and some interactions were kinda weird so sometimes the most efficient way of playing is trial and error. BUT this is a game jam and there is not so much time, and i've made puzzle games in the past for jams and it's frustrating seeing people not understanding the puzzle haha.

In general i think it's a nice entry so nice job ^^

shlolo 2024-04-22 16:16

I love it! The voice acting is really nice and the game as a whole is just very charming. Also, it's very impressive that you were able to come up with so many different interactions and implement them all in this short amount of time. That being said, the game is kind of difficult. I appreciate you posting a walkthrough. Without it, I wouldn't have made it through.

Nice job!

rowlof 2024-04-22 17:14

In my opinion it started alright but quickly turned into trial and error the game, because you don't know what you're looking for. Especially putting lemonade on the drum seems far fetched. Kinda have to use the cheat sheet.

bumblebee-studios 2024-04-22 17:28

It takes a lot of (hyper-)lateral thinking to solve this one. I really appreciate the non-conventionality of the game, even if it's not really my cup of tea.

krummsakura 2024-04-24 18:23

It was a delightful experience. Minimalist art style was quite distinctive and voice acting was a nice touch. To be honest, if there wasn’t that cheat-sheet, I couldn't finish the game, but once you get the idea things begin to make sense. Good job!

empyreans 2024-04-30 17:12

VO was nice. I liked art in form of sketch drawing.

Game was difficult for me to figure out at first, but it was fun learning how to play it.

Great job!
