LD55 — Summoning

Dialtide by Diego Escalante 2024-04-18T01:39:00Z

Wow, loved it! Music was great and loved the idea of dialling numbers to summon your army. I was focusing too hard on the number sequences to watch the battle, maybe making them shorter or changing where they were on screen could help? Loved the sfx tied to the numbers, made it feel like old school phones which was fun. I liked how as soon as I lost I wanted to try again, and the music continuing through the end game menu helped to set up that feeling.

Loved this, I enjoyed how customizable the character was, and the gameplay was simple but super addictive and fun. Adding audio will make it even better :)

Nice game! I don't think I could've done it without the walkthrough, so thanks for that. It took me a few rooms to get the idea of the game, a small tutorial would be helpful.

The music really set the mood, but became repetitive so some more variation would be great. The sfx added a lot but were too loud in comparison.

I agree with a previous comment about the narration, it would help if it was a little faster, and/or if while it played, you could continue playing rather than having to stop and wait for it. I think it would be great if the narration happened at the very start as well to introduce it as a concept from the beginning, it really helped to characterize the player character. I didn't love the breaking of the fourth wall at the end, because I liked the feeling of being in the magical world the game created.

Super cute and fun when I got into it, I felt like there was a more to be explored if I wanted to replay it.

Summoning Circles, Á La Carte by Matt Blake 2024-04-18T01:27:50Z

Really loved the concept and art. It was difficult to figure out the combinations, but rewarding when I did. Might be good to scale up the options as it progresses to teach the player what to do.

- Would love to hear audio to help set the mood. - Trashy is very cute but I didn't use it, the matches seemed easier to use. - Some kind of indication of how much time was left would help, could be as simple as having the lighting change as 'day' approaches. - Would like to have a goal to work towards
