@ntmalichi Thanks, I will! Hopefully I figure it out :)

eng: Such a cute game! If only I could draw half as well as you, my own game would be so much better. I especially love the poems at the end. You can really feel how much heart and soul went into this game. ❤️

kanity 2026-10-19 16:48 ♥ 0

error.png

Translation for others: Thank you! It makes me very happy, because I always feel like my drawing skills aren't good enough :) Your game also looks very pretty, I will bookmark it to play later! And thank you for the instruction, I tried exporting like it says, with the index name, and it went better because at least it started loading on my page, but midway it gave an error anyway =\

ancooper 2026-10-19 17:40 ♥ 1

@kanity ты когда экспортируешь, у тебя получается несколько файлов в одной папке с index.html. Ты должна все их вместе запакавать в один zip архив. И вот его загружать на itch.

kanity 2026-10-19 18:17 ♥ 0

@ancooper Это понятно, я их всех запаковала, в зип, и его тоже index назвала на всякий случай, но itch всё равно не впечатлился... Попробую ещё раз. В прошлый джем у меня получилось, тоже из Godot экспортировала 3_3

Great game! I really liked the visual style, good job!

wuppos 2026-10-19 20:50 ♥ 1

This was again a pretty hand-drawn game, which I have come to expect from you! It felt very mystical and whimsical. I especially liked the poetry that appeared when you made a prediction! And the voice acting made it even better. Did you write it yourself? The art of the flowers was also really pretty ^^

I guess the only thing I would have loved is for my choices to be a bit more interesting. I am guessing that whenever you choose a flower, it has an effect on the outcome? Maybe you could give a hint to the outcome, so I can make a decision about what I think will happen (which might be wrong of course :p ).

Either way, really well done! And congrats on finishing another compo game! ^^

hagamosvideojuegos 2026-10-19 22:01 ♥ 1

Your game has been interesting! very dreamlike! 🌠

Like most of your creations, and I think that gives it a real sense of character! 😄

I found it artistically interesting, and as a bit of a fun fact, blue tea (oolong) is my favourite!

Finally, you’ve included words in Spanish, English and Russian... very interesting! I’ll have to learn to read Cyrillic at some point!

Well done!

kanity 2026-10-20 08:17 ♥ 2

@ntmalichi The web build seems to be working now! I tested it two times and besides the ugly gray screen when transitioning between the scenes it seems to be fine :)

@sanechekz @ancooper Thank you guys, I tried again and it worked even though I didn't change anything in the export settings :D / Спасибо за советы, теперь всё сработало, хотя я ничего в окне экспортирования не поменяла :)

ntmalichi 2026-10-20 08:24 ♥ 1

Cute little experience! I loved the hand drawn visuals. I'm not sure I understood how to select the final ingredient for the teas but I guess I lucked out 3/3 haha.

kanity 2026-10-20 08:30 ♥ 1

@esh-k Thank you! It was very fun drawing assets on paper ^^

@wuppos

Thank you! ^v^

I wrote the poems on my way home from the Spanish class, in the notes on my phone xD And recorded VO later at home.

And the flowers I drew with pixels in Paint Tool SAI, then zoomed in 200%, took a screenshot, cut the white around and used the zoomed in flower as a png :') I am glad you like them, I was drawing the flowers on Sunday evening already feeling like I might not do everything in time xD I really wanted to finish it in time for COMPO, so it's not super polished.

And yes, the flower decides the outcome, as I didn't want to overcomplicate this (at first I wanted to do 3 flowers for each client ^^') and in my head the type of "flower" is a hint in itself, but I admit that might only make sense to me?

For example, the hare (Liebrita) has 2 choices: camomile (I used Latin instead of English, but I hope the plants are recognizable) and the fern's flower. Camomile is used for calming teas, so it stands to reason it gives you a chill "you rest all winter with tea and books" ending. Fern's flower, on the other hand, is a mythical flower of the legends that doesn't actually exist in the real world... So it gives you the magical ending. Or with Orsita (bear), the Rose gives you the Prince (direct fairy tale connection in my head). With Ratita (mouse) the choice is way harder to realize if you don't know Russian, but the pea on the left is called "Mice's pea" in Russian, so in my mind it makes it a "magical" component of this equation and so gives her a victory in the pie contest, where ivan-chai feels more "homey" (and was commonly used here and still kinda used to make tea!)

And yeah I wish the transitions were smoother and it would be great to have maybe a screen saying "you chose THIS ingredient, and so you get THIS ending", hopefully next time my plan is less ambitious and I will be able to polish my entry more :')

And again, thank you!! Can't wait to play your game too, I am feeling rested today so going to finally start going around and playing others' games! <3

kanity 2026-10-20 08:32 ♥ 1

@hagamosvideojuegos Ahh, thank you! And I think I managed not to make it creepy this time around! :) And I also love oolong a lot ^v^ To be honest, I wanted to include English and Spanish translations for all the herbs, but I didn't see them for some in Wiki and didn't have time anymore to research thoroughly ;_; Most of the herbs I used are the ones growing in my countryside so it makes sense they might not be commonly known in other countries/areas!

kanity 2026-10-20 08:34 ♥ 0

@ntmalichi Thank you <3 You can't lose in the game, different ingredient just gives the client a different future :) I drew 2 future options for each.

oadt 2026-10-20 09:05 ♥ 1

Always nice to see your unique art style again! The graphics are adorable and also great work on the audio! My only complaint is that the sounds vary a lot in volume, maybe their volumes could be adjusted a little better. But still great game!

kanity 2026-10-20 09:33 ♥ 1

@oadt Thank you! <3 I seem to always have an issue with audio levels... I will try to be less ambitious on the concept next time and spend more time polishing things like that. I even had to give a big fat warning on top of the page because of that MAGIC sound (you know after the tea is poured, there is a magical sequence) that made me jump when replaying but it was already too late to fix :') I think because I make audio in different ways it comes out in varying volume...

perrarancino 2026-10-20 11:38 ♥ 1

the hand-drawn paper art is gorgeous, it gives the whole tea house such a warm storybook feel and the samovar as the old tech centerpiece is a really clever pick. i can't believe this was made in a day and a half, it feels way more complete than that. did you scan the paper drawings and clean them up, or draw them digitally in that style? either way, really charming little game.

kanity 2026-10-20 12:13 ♥ 0

@perrarancino

Thank you! ^v^

I can't believe myself I managed to complete it. I drew all 6 endings in 30 minutes exactly (yes, I timed myself because I was running out of time), for example. And I finished the coding in the literal last hour typing away like a robot, it's a miracle I didn't mess anything up in the code! Honestly I am glad you feel like it's complete, I didn't have time to polish it at all, audio levels are wonky and I couldn't do proper transitions and I wanted the fairy to leave a trail in the Spell Levels xD

Thankfully, drawing on paper is actually faster (for me at least) than on computer. I don't have a scaner, so I took photos with my phone and then downloaded them on my laptop; I didn't really clean them in any way, just downsized and cut out if necessary (for BGs just downsized) and adjusted the colours a bit (interestingly you don't even need to add a colour, if you up the saturation it just appears by itself! I only put a colour layer over the cafe BG :))

The title of the game is also drawn on paper! I used black pen for it. And then some assets I drew on my graphic tablet in Paint Tool SAI to contrast "magical" part of the world with the "regular one" ^^

And yes I felt so exhausted that yesterday, after jam, I just couldn't do anything at all. Can't recommend crunching like that xD

А тут ещё и стихи твои, написанные от руки. Из-за языкового барьера я, конечно, не всё прочувствовал, но всё равно сижу и восхищаюсь.

@shlolo Thank you so much, your words make me very happy :) I did put a lot of love and care in it for sure, and I am glad it translates! It was super fun playing around with paper drawings, and after I cut out the figurines of the "clients" I kept them on my desk to motivate me while finishing the game, and it feels nice to have something physical left from working on the game too ^^

@drgcandle Hello! Sorry, I don't trust auto translators and I can't really check how they translate to Chinese... But I'll write in English because I think it will translate better (than from Russian). Hopefully you don't mind! I am glad to see you again, it's been a while; I'll make sure to check out your game too! I always enjoy the more artistic parts of working on the game, and writing poetry is always fun, and drawing on paper is a different experience from drawing on computer, it is especially enjoyable! I am glad you liked the game and the atmosphere and the story, thank you <3 This time I managed to do a cute fairy tale without the creepy vibes! xD

marudziik 2026-10-20 20:34 ♥ 1

Hi again! Finally I got to sit down with your game as well. And I actually love it. In fact, your entry is a great example of what matters in Ludum Dare, at least for me. Your game has a **soul**, a uniqueness, a feel that can only be attributed to your individual persona. It's this fun mix of weird & creative, and *exactly* what I want to see from a Ludum Dare entry. And the length is just right for a replay.

I was surprised to read on how much thought you've put into the process as well, just reading through your comments (I got the cozy ending at first). I am completely oblivious to the different types of flowers and I selected them somewhat at random - only after reading your comment above I realized I'm missing out on the meaning. I enjoyed your drawings (always fun to see mixed-medium games), and the audio is superb. The male voice was pretty authentic to me! :)

I actually don't have anything critical to say other than about adjusting the audio levels. I enjoyed the experience a lot. Thank you, and congrats - it's an awesome entry...

...and you are an awesome person - again, thanks a lot for the support on discord. You spoke the words I needed, when I needed them, and opened my mind to a possibility ("meditative") I hadn't considered before. Maybe simple, but that encouragement means a lot to me.

kanity 2026-10-20 21:51 ♥ 1

@marudziik

Thank you for your kind words! I'll admit your comment made me tear up a little. It feels so heartwarming, and I am so glad my words had such a great effect! This part of Ludum Dare is what matters to me a lot - connecting with others, it is always a special experience, and a great motivator for me to participate even when I feel like I won't have enough time to make a game (like this time; though I still managed to complete it!!) - because I really want to enjoy that cultural-social exchange; we are all gathered here to play each other's games and have fun, and I am glad you didn't miss out and ended up publishing your game (and I really enjoyed playing it!)

And I am glad you enjoyed my game too ^v^ I had a lot of fun making it! (overworked myself for sure but it was all worth it) I lowered the "pitch" for the male voice and I am happy to hear it feels right (because I still recognize my own voice it feels a bit weird to me x)) But I liked how it sounded - like an old man - as I pictured a wise grandpa telling this "intro" story.

Thank you for leaving such a thoughtful comment, it meant a lot to me! <3

hagamosvideojuegos 2026-10-20 21:58 ♥ 1

Some of the voices were unsettling, but I think it added a sense of mystery rather than just being spooky!

Many of those plants can also be found in Spain, for instance, my own parents have roses in their garden bed.

While some might be less common here, for those of us not from that region, they carry an exotic touch; it’s much like blue tea, which originates from China but is now available just about anywhere.

In any case, you’ve managed to craft a compelling narrative experience—something I personally find difficult and tend to avoid, as it’s quite a challenge to pull off in such a short amount of time. And the fact that you’ve created two distinct endings for each character is simply impressive!

ao-85 2026-10-20 22:32 ♥ 1

I love the level design on this one!

kanity 2026-10-20 22:38 ♥ 0

@hagamosvideojuegos

Haha well I am sure roses are known everywhere! xD But something like ivan-chai, for example, I didn't see a Spanish wiki page for and I was already in a rush by then ;_; And I wanted to be sure I use the right word, not just pick whatever the dictionary tells me; now that I look into it, it might be adelfilla? But I am not 100% sure. Seems right from google photos though!

I remember when I visited Spain for longer periods of time, it was hard to find tea-tea, most of the shops had herbal teas only (at least in Valencia region); I wonder if it's different depending on the area! But I got the impression you guys prefer herbal teas :D

And I am glad the narrative experience works! Honestly we are the opposite in this regard, I find narrative part to be easier to tackle, it's programming and stuff like that that is difficult to me... Though I have to confess I actually do like coding! It definitely can be creative as well, and I find it fun! But obviously it's not my strength :)) Makes me happy to see appreciation of the narrative part that is more of my strength, thank you! <3

wouter52 2026-10-21 09:33 ♥ 1

Oh this one's got that kantiny vibe , really love the art style! I was wondering if the plant choice would affect things, so I played the first level several times (I like to pick apart games, sorry hihi)

At the 'create spell minigame' I first though I needed to keep between the lines, so I was super careful. Then after half the spell I found out it has got some virtual guard rails, which made it much easier. I'm a bit divided which version I found more fun to play though 🤔

_(just thinking out loud here) Maybe the player could mess up and the spell will do something aweful? But then the whole cozy vibe would be shattered and then it would become cozy horror_ 🤔

... I think you made the right choice here 😁

Edit: now I remember! You actually did it! You included Spanish! 😄

kanity 2026-10-21 10:12 ♥ 0

@acartlidge I love that description, thank you! <3

@eugenik Thank you, I am glad it had that effect!

@purpledartfrog I am happy using paper drawings paid off, thank you :)

@wouter52

Haha it's good my games have their own vibe, and thank you! Of course my initial idea was too ambitious so I couldn't do everything... xD Herbs do decide the future, it was easier to put them in the end so I can send the player directly to the specific screen with a certain future, so I didn't have to make any global values at all xD And I cut the choice from 3 herbs per client to 2.

The spell game - I wanted of course the player to draw the symbol, but I had no idea how to implement that and no time to figure it out xD So I had the genius idea to cover the area with the Collision Polygon and force the player to stay in line xD I agree it is too simple... I wanted the fairy to leave a trail at least, I found the tutorial on a 2D shooter with lasers and wanted to base my trail code off the laser code (only it wouldn't disappear but stay behind a fairy) but again I ran out of time %)

@wouter52 Just saw the P.S. you made, I read your comment too soon at first xD It's not a lot but yes, I did!! In fact I had my notebook with the game plans open during the Spanish class and was jotting down ideas in every possible moment... I don't think anyone noticed xD the funny thing is because my brain was taking in Spanish, but it's natively russian and also has English ingrained in it, my game plans ended up written in the wild mix of all three languages 😂 my sister laughed afterwards when she was reading them and saw a single sentence including all three in it 😂

kanity 2026-10-21 21:13 ♥ 0

@ghettobastler Thank you ^v^ I like to think the prophecy made comes true, so what you chose shows what is in their future :) They are leading chill cozy lives in the forest, and maybe having some magical adventures! I might revisit their world sometime in the future games :)

robin-schmitz 2026-10-21 23:03 ♥ 0

Finally found the time to play your game. Well worth the wait :). The mood you create with your hand drawn artworks is just incredibly heartwarming. Adding on the activity of brewing up magical tea increases this effect even more :D. The little mouse being foretold that it will soon meet up with her sister was so cute. All of the characters looked just lovely. Selecting which ingredient would best suit the tea was interesting, as each choice resulted in a cute and very well written poem. Incredibly creative! :) The last tea I brew did foretell a book of magic. Intriguing! Maybe I should drink tea more often, so that I could get more information about the location of such book :D.

Also, great work on voice acting! In my opinion, this made the poems even better. Fantastic game jam game. Additionally, I of course also agree with what others have written already, especially what marudziik said about your game having soul. It absolutely has and it's amazing :).

kanity 2026-10-22 19:32 ♥ 0

@robin-schmitz Thank you so much! ^v^ I always loved stories about animals living in the forest in a human-like way (baking pies, going on picnics, getting cozy in an armchair), and I like to imagine that the ones in my story here live in a world with magic (after all, fairies are living in that samovar, so why can't there be a book of magic? :)) Liebrita is naturally curious so I think she would be a perfect inheritor of this magical book! But maybe you could find your own in another mossy cave? :D

hagamosvideojuegos 2026-10-22 21:16 ♥ 0

@kanity Yes! "Adelfilla" or "Laurel de San Antonio"!

In Spain, although herbal infusions are generally more popular than tea, it really depends on the person. I’m a huge tea enthusiast myself! That said, coffee is definitely the go-to drink here when people want an energy boost, while herbal infusions are more often enjoyed as a caffeine-free alternative. Chamomile (Manzanilla in spanish) and pennyroyal mint tea (poleo menta in spanish) are especially popular I think... I’d say they’re probably among the most traditional herbal infusions here.

I had no idea that was a typical Russian drink, though! I’ll have to give it a try…

t-c 2026-10-23 02:19 ♥ 0

As always, awesome entry! Super whimsical, very charming, a game that is uniquely yours. I really like the premise, the little minigames you play as you're on your journey to brew a magical tea. The endings of their future read out with art to boot. It all works so well together. This one came together really well, I would never have guessed that you felt you were so far away even at the last hour!

I love the choices you make and how they effect what you get. I also really liked reading your explanations on why you get the future you get based on what you picked. The bunny had the best endings. Cozying up and reading? How can you beat that!

The art was full of charm. It is very "Kanity"! I really liked the swirling effect of the tea, the brew pot? thing? being split in half, with hand drawn lines on one side and the side with the fairies being fully colored in. Appreciate that kind of detail. The hand drawn style worked very well for the shop, and the images you get for each ending. I also thought it was neat that you showed the collision hitboxes after completing the travel section, and colored them in once you got to the end of the path! A super cool idea, I don't know enough about Unity's "Polygon Collider 2D" but I see it makes triangles and hexes like that and coloring each one in and showing it was a super neat effect.

Same with the sounds. I had a ton of fun making the voice sound effects for Rain, even though I did those with my nose 😆 👃 - doing so with instruments is very neat! And it sounds like you're trying to speak the words through the instrument. Maybe I'm imagining it but it lines up too well!

Great stuff! Look forward to seeing what you make in the next LD!

kanity 2026-10-25 16:30 ♥ 0

@hagamosvideojuegos I would say Ivan-Chai was definitely pushed out by black (Indian) tea, but you can still buy it and drink as a tea (like a herbal tea) and it has a distinct taste which you might like or not! We can also just collect it in the countryside if we want lol. It grows like a wild plant. I am not sure how it is in Spain, probably it's not sold as "tea" in the shops, though you might try russian stores? I know there are definitely some there, I visited one in Barcelona for example :) Also, Laurel de San Antonio is such a beautiful name... +_+

I for sure saw a lot of camomile in the shops in Spain... One time me and my mom bought a pack that said "DORMIR" in big letters and it was a mix of calming herbs, including camomile. It was actually very tasty and made my mom sleepy xD So now we buy mixes like that in Russia too and call them all DORMIR between ourselves xD

kanity 2026-10-25 16:41 ♥ 1

@t-c Thank you!! ^v^ I am glad it all came together fine! I just filmed a video today talking about the process of making it, coming up with the idea and everything, will post it as soon as I edit xD But basically I coded in the parts of Ratita and Liebrita in basically the last hour, using what I did for Osita as a "template" of sorts :)

I agree with you on the hare (Liebrita)... I love her endings the most as well, her "cozying up with a book" future is my fav picture out of all these :)

I have to confess/explain something about collision hitboxes too! I talked about this in the video I have recorded today but it's obviously not edited&published yet xD So the reality is I had this genius idea to use Collision Polygon 2D for the "spell levels" and cover the whole space with it so you have to stay in the spell zone. When making this in Godot, I looked at how pretty the finished Polygon looks in the editing window, all colourful, took a screenshot and made it into a picture... And did that for all three of them. It turned out to be a pretty nice visual for the "completed" spell!

And - oh wow - I didn't even realise some of your sounds were made using a nose and I never tried that myself! Some of my sounds are paper bag crumpling, candy opening, "playing" on the glass tea cup with a spoon, etc xD

Can't wait for your next entry too... And for the completed Rain Saga =P

hinamarina 2026-10-25 21:47 ♥ 0

Wow! Such a delicate work! The art and the writing are absolutely amazing, made me feel like in a beautiful fantasy book full of dreams. The whole idea of making it through traditional art and sketch on paper even the text felt really powerful, I feel that this have an enormous potential even for a bigger full fleshed interactive fiction game, I could play it for hours. It felt unique in many ways! I really loved the poetry ;-; Sometimes when you press space during the magical spiral animation, I feel that the music resets and play again, which felt just slightly out of place. The sound design is astonishingly beautiful, a blessing for the whole atmosphere of the work and fits perfectly the entirety of the game. That was a really amazing entry, with so much heart that really resonated a lot with me. I'm really happy for playing another one of your games! :) A really sweet one, thank you for the game!

vidarn 2026-10-26 21:07 ♥ 3

What a lovely game! I enjoyed it a lot. I find your games so imaginative and mysterious, but also very cosy. This one was no exception. The setting was evocative and there was a feeling of magic.

It feels like you're improving a lot on the technical aspect of your games with each one you make. This one felt very polished, and there were many different gameplay elements.

Having multiple options for the herbs was very cool and I enjoyed replaying the game to see the different endings. I found it clever how you used those glimpses into the future to tell the story of the characters, and let the player imagine the rest.

I had never heard of blue tea before, now I'm curious to try some!

The audio was great, I was impressed with how you did the male voice, I'm curious what kind of audio processing you used to achieve that! And I loved the voices of the animals, especially the second one. So good XD

The art was beautiful and the mixed media aspect of the game stood out. The drawings were really pretty, and so was the pixel art. The part when the collision geometry of the spell path becomes a colorful pattern was great, that's such a creative idea and it looked great.

I felt very inspired by the use of hand drawn images so I had to draw a little watercolor picture of my favorite ending

img.jpg

Edit: Thank you for hearting this comment, but unfortunately there seems to be a [bug(/feature?)](https://github.com/JamBrain/JamBrain/pull/2267) on the ldjam page that will downrank the game for each heart that's not from the game author, so please refrain from pressing the heart on comments that are not from the author on other peoples games. Feels weird, but that's the way it's implemented apparently.

kanity 2026-10-26 22:15 ♥ 1

@vidarn

Ahhh !!! My heart just stopped for a second when I saw this, thank you so much, she is absolutely beautiful!! And this is my favourite ending too ^-^ The watercolour looks just gorgeous, now I will hope you will make a game using your watercolour drawings as art assets =P It is so so pretty and captures the feeling of this future perfectly, and I am just so happy ;_;

And thank you for your kind words! I hope to find more time to evolve the technical skills; I came to really like Godot in the last (and current, ofc) jam, so I will try to practice with it more; though my games probably won't ever be super complicated in terms of gameplay, it would be interesting to be able to play with the possibilities more ^^

On topic of blue tea - as one of my jam friends here mentioned, oolong is often called "blue tea", however, I also tried tea that was indeed completely blue in colour, and it was also incredibly tasty. It is called simply "light blue tea" in russian, or "anchan", derived from its original Thai name; I just checked the Wiki, and in English it is also called simply blue tea, and "Butterfly pea flower tea" as well. I suspect you have more chances finding it in a cafe rather than in a shop, though who knows :)

On topic of the voices, I use Movavi Editor (Movavi Video Editor Plus 2020) to edit my videos, and I use it for audio editing as well. It's a video editing program technically, but it does have some tools for the audio. Among them is "effects", which I used for previous jams as well. "Telephone", "Robot", "Echo" (my fav) and also "High/Low Pitch". I used "Very low pitch" for this male voice :D (And I record the audio using Movavi as well ^^)

And for the animals, I used the flute! Kinda "humming" into it their lines ^^' It wasn't easy tbh, took several tried to get it right! :) I filmed a video about my game yesterday, and I do show all the musical instruments I used in it, but I didn't have time to edit & post it yet :')

Thank you for playing and thank you again for the art, I will treasure it ^^ And with your permission, I would love to post it (with credit) on my itch page <3

@hinamarina

Thank you so much, that is such a lovely description and a very sweet review! ^v^ It was definitely fun using paper drawings, and there is a high chance I will do something like that again :) And I am glad you enjoyed the poetry! <3

I did notice the music pausing during magical sequence only yesterday when replaying the game for the video, I didn't even realise that before :') I need to research how to fix that...

Thank you for playing <3

@kanity I'm glad you liked the painting! You're very welcome to post it :)

I will look for light blue tea! I think I'll start by asking in our local tea shop to see if they know it.

Good to hear you like Godot! I think the technical part of making games is endlessly fun and inspiring, but at the same time I want to get to a point where I don't have to think too hard about the basic stuff, especially under time pressure 😅 I find that there are certain "recipes" I learn when making games, which make it easier next time. Like moving a character around. After doing it a few times, it takes much less effort to implement. Very similar to cooking or baking I think.

Haha, I was very inspired to make a game with hand drawn art in the future 😄 We'll see! what process did you use to scan your artwork?

Looking forward to the video and seeing the musical instruments you used.

I love how well put together this is with the hand drawn art, story, and voice over. I did not pick up on the translation hints, so wasn't sure if I was missing something for the flower picking. Glad to know they're different endings. I was hoping for a bit more agency in the selection/outcome from that regard or some level of success, but that's the arcade gamer in me coming out 😅. It's important to slow down and chill, which is what tea is all about. Thanks for helping me take a beat and enjoy a small window into this world.
