Looks like a nice GIS project :) I was unable to play it on my laptop though, it was a slideshow...

Lidar games are cool and doing one that's vehicle based is interesting, but with the bare minimum of audio, seemingly arbitrary objectives, almost no UI, the need to Alt+F4 to even exit the game, and the occasional Unreal print output appearing in the top left corner, this game unfortunately feels pretty rough. On the plus side, I did like how the map design really made the driving gameplay actually mean something; at first I wasn't sure why a car driving around a city needed to be a lidar game, but once I encountered the challenge of having to navigate tight areas it became more engaging.
That's cool!
Super interesting concept, and graphically looks really cool! I got the first 4 signals and then got pretty stuck - it wasn't really clear if the signals were doing anything, and I got too far from the other signals to feel like it was worth it to go after the rest. But as a tech demo I think it's such a really cool base to build off of.
I like the visuals, and the gameplay is okay. Perhaps a bit more gameplay would have been fun, but what is good.
i cannot play the game because im on LINUX but the gif looks nice
Very cool idea with the visualization. It was a bit hard to find my way through the map though. Still nice work!
I totally agree with the consensus that the core concept here is genuinely innovative and executed with a solid level of polish. However, the lack of quality-of-life features like a functional menu or HUD makes the experience feel pretty bare-bones and unfinished. It’s a cool prototype, but it definitely needs a deeper gameplay loop and more structure.
Pretty fun, I found myself pretty drawn in to be honest, despite it's simplicity. Was just enjoyable driving around with the funky visuals. Nice work
The lidar visuals are nice, the rest of the gameplay i personally not a fan off, there is no proper gameplay. (Also i would rename it from Vehicle Template :D)
Games with LiDAR always look appealing. This one is really interesting. Thanks for the game!
Man, the controls were really awesome. It's cool to be able to drift. I don't know Brno, but Prague—yes! Lidar Signal 2 in Praha — When?
Seeing the world through the eyes of an automobile lidar. It is interesting.
It's like driving blind =)
You drive around the city, trusting your senses. Interesting idea.
It seemed to me that the more checkpoints you collected, the faster the buildings appeared. But as soon as I closed the game, it was so painful to see everything in color again, haha.
Thanks for the game!
I went to Brno once for a game development conference! It’s a nice city—I really liked it. About the game: I like the sonar idea; as I understand it, it’s not easy to implement something like that. Add more cities and release it on Steam!
Really cool effect and original idea! So fun to play, congratulations!
Super impressive entry, congrats! I've been meaning to use OpenStreetMap for a project someday, how hard did you find it to use?
thank you!
Really cool idea for the signal theme with the LiDAR visuals in a car game. Was really fun to play, nice work!
Very unusual style, it looks great. It was not immediately clear what to do, the target was lost against the background of green dots, and there was not enough sound. But it was an interesting experience, it's great that we made a mark of the way we went.
The idea is somehow original for this game, though I can't see too much on this map. Also, the game runs at like 5 FPS. Maybe consider an optimization for it. And the gameplay: a little bit too hard to control the car.
I dislike this effect. It makes both my eyes and my head hurt, which is exactly what happened. Surprisingly, though, driving around and searching for points in the city labyrinth is quite pleasant. The navigation is brilliantly designed—I love how you can see the points through the buildings.
Gameplay is fun and the car controls are good. However even though the theme implemented good, the effect itself makes it confusing sometimes. But overall it's a good game!
I was not suspecting I was scanning the Czech Republic xD
Actually, the concept of scanning a city with your car just like google earth is pretty original, I like it :)
Really cool game, the scanning mechanic is wild!
Chill game, but the car controls aren’t very comfortable. Lacks drifting).
html build plss
@Fadex a good joke. This is UE5, and the lowest I could optimize the size is what you see on itch.
@eugenik Mac then ?
Cool lidar mechanic. We had it in our game too.
I do have a big bias, as lidar technology and self-driving cars were what I wrote my thesis work about years ago. So I absolutely loved this game! It was executed beautifully, like I loved how staying in one place gave more and more details about the environment, and the entire concept, and in general it was a neat experience.
Now I can tell everyone that I’ve officially been to Brno
respect for the mechanics of the lidar
Visually a cool effect but hard to navigate and slightly disorientating
Cannot play the game 'cause I'm on linux, but that looks great !
The concept itself is good, and the car controls are well implemented. The game's sounds could use some work. Add some kind of reward at the end (like showing the city we've scanned). Maybe some events could be added.
The developer should have realized that adding a lidar wasn't enough to match the theme. However, the game controls and feels good. There's room for improvement in terms of sound and more logical objectives. The game lacks rewards and gameplay diversity.
I like the lidar effect, but please, change the car driving sound to remove clicking, it was driving me crazy (Pun Intended)!
Really creative idea, I already saw some kind of LIDAR base dgames but never played one, it was a cool experience. It's funny to see how much of the 3D world we can understand only based on dots Nice entry, that's the kind of creative game I like to see in game jams :)
ok, using real-life point cloud data is pretty cool!
Really cool effect and original idea! So fun to play, congratulations!
