Sonar Ping by CoastersPaul 2026-04-20T15:38:01Z
I finished the whole game! I liked the variety of levels and the core idea. Was there anything you didn’t have time to add, or wanted to include?

I finished the whole game! I liked the variety of levels and the core idea. Was there anything you didn’t have time to add, or wanted to include?
A very unusual design. At first I thought I wouldn’t like it, but as I kept playing, I got into it. It turned out to be quite a nice experience. The voices are quite pleasant.
I liked the visuals, and the sounds are pleasant too. It’s cool that upgrades appear as you progress, but it also becomes quite difficult. Overall it’s fun, but the genre is pretty challenging!
I liked the art. The damage sounds are also good. There is progression. Switching weapons is a bit tricky, but overall it’s pretty cool!
An interesting idea. It’s quite difficult though, or maybe I just didn’t fully get it. Could use some sound effects too!
I liked the concept of the game — it’s really unusual! Thanks!
Wow, 120 levels? That’s impressive! The game looks great — a nice, chill puzzle experience
I liked the idea — it fits the event theme really well. But I couldn’t get past the room with the three computers. I tried a lot of different combinations :(
Thanks for the game!
Guys, I really liked the game! At first I was just wandering around, getting immersed in the atmosphere and placing some colored capsules. Nothing seemed to happen except for a heartbeat sound.
Then I entered a room where I had to rotate a line, and suddenly a monster attacked me — I got really scared! By that point I was already fully into the game and really enjoying it.
The mechanic of clicking to answer is also very fun, thanks!
I really liked the idea and how it’s executed. Navigating by the stars is very cool… I wish we had telescopes like that!
I really liked the visual style. The tentacle is very well done, and everything is presented in a cool way. But it felt a bit difficult for me — I think I figured it out, but I was still making mistakes.
The visuals are really great! It was fun trying to guess what the enemy would do.

I liked it. I died a couple of times without realizing I could zoom the camera out, but it was still interesting to replay. Thanks!
I really liked the music and the pixel art. It has a nice vibe and reminded me of childhood games. Thanks!
As I understood it, you’re supposed to walk around the map and at some point the shovel should activate, but it’s not clear when exactly that happens.
Thanks for the game!
I really liked the idea of regulating traffic — the concept is great. It’s cool that you can see the route of the cars, although I didn’t immediately realize there were four intersections. It might be helpful to start with just one for the tutorial, so players can ease into it and understand what to do.
In any case, I enjoyed it! Thanks!
I really like the neon style, it looks great! Does Dracula get stronger over time?
Ah, I see 😄 so he’s already at max power. Respect.
Oh, you guys did a lot of work. The game looks very interesting, and the graphics are really beautiful.
It looks really good. I even got a bit stressed when I realized the sonar pulse is dangerous for me. It’s a shame there’s only one level!
Cool animations and a nice idea. The doors feel a bit unresponsive, but overall I liked it!
Games with LiDAR always look appealing. This one is really interesting. Thanks for the game!
The game looks very polished. The sounds, graphics, and VFX are all quite pleasant. Gameplay-wise, it’s overall solid!
Got stuck on the third level. The icons confused me a bit — I couldn’t really understand their logic.
I liked the sound effects (the “chuh-chuh-chuh” ones) and the collisions 🙂
Also really nice that the game runs directly in the browser on the page!
Glad to see another rhythm game! I liked the visuals and the music, but hitting the rhythm was quite difficult. I had to calibrate three times just to get through the first level. In the end, I made it to the motorcycle level, where I got stuck. Despite that, I really liked the variety of levels. Overall, I enjoyed the game!
I’d be glad if you checked out my rhythm bullet hell game 🙂
Really neat game! It’s very well put together, and it’s impressive that such a big team worked on it — great job to everyone involved.
I really wish there was a fullscreen option.
Chasing the ghost was a bit frustrating at times, but still interesting.
The page on itch is empty
Looks pretty cool. The cat is great, and the music sounds good. For some reason, I thought you had to check the files first and then either send or delete them, but it turns out the instructions were below the game. It would be nice to have them in-game 🙂
I wouldn’t want to work as an antivirus :D
Wow, that’s an interesting description. I also made a rhythm game, but I never thought about analyzing melodies — I generate them in real time instead.
I really like your approach! Thanks!
Damn, that’s a really cool idea. I loved creating a melody from a sequence of sounds. At first I thought it was a puzzle, but when I realized it’s actually a musical instrument… oh yeah, pure bliss.
Thanks for the musical game!
An interesting puzzle with quite relaxing music. Solving the puzzles is enjoyable. Thanks!
I liked the cozy visual style. At first, I didn’t quite understand that you need to press the buttons not only in rhythm, but also to draw a shape — it ends up feeling like a kind of piano. It’s fairly challenging, but I really liked the idea.
Thanks for the rhythm game! I made one on this theme too, so feel free to check it out if you’d like 🙂
A cool platformer with interesting mechanics and puzzles. I liked the level design. Thanks for the game!
Wow, you even made a trailer! A lot of work has clearly gone into this — cutscenes, voice acting, effects, visuals, shooting mechanics.
The gas theme is interesting, but it could use a bit more development. I can see that you’re responding to comments and making fixes, which is great. The game just needs some polishing.
Well… it wasn’t bad, but it felt a bit too simple.
Haha, the title is amazing. The idea overall is great too — how did you even come up with this? It’s really funny!
I could barely tear myself away from the game! It’s really engaging to search for combinations. The active clicker slowly turns into an idle game — a really cool concept! Thanks for the game!
Honestly, I didn’t quite understand how to play, but thanks for the Tetris!
It seems like the zip build might be broken — nothing happens for me :(
This was pretty fun. At first I thought it was a Hotline Miami clone. I didn’t really like the cleaning mechanic — it feels more punishing than fun — but for a jam, it’s quite decent overall. Audio also good.
Игра очень понравилась! Код искал долго, глаза уже замылены. Либо он появляется после неудачных попыток? Текстуры класс, озвучка супер. А самое главное -- было интересно выбраться
Rhythm game? Awesome! The sound design is really excellent. The visuals are also fantastic — could even be used as wallpapers
The game conveys the mood really well and feels very polished overall.
It really feels like a game made with a lot of care and attention. Thank you
Wow! It’s a small game, but it has so much content and soul! I really like the visuals, the sounds, the upgrades, and the gradual increase in difficulty. Thanks for the experience!
Was there anything you didn’t have time to implement or would have liked to add?
firefox_f7lJ0dQvCU.png
The idea looks interesting. I’ve only recently started learning music and my ear isn’t very well trained yet, but I still managed to finish the game!
I liked that you can tap along with the rhythm. Some levels are really easy, while others are quite challenging — I struggled to find the right card at times. I could clearly hear three beats, but the available cards were two or four.
I’m down to three fingers.
The voice acting was great — I really enjoyed it!
A cute and engaging tower defense game, thanks!
Oh, I like the idea of a tower defense with manual targeting. It looks really solid! Thanks!
The game looks good and feels nice to play. The sounds aren’t annoying, which is definitely a plus!
It took me a bit of time to figure out what the game wanted from me. But once I got into it, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I liked the submarine visuals and the LiDAR effect.
The distance between points of activity feels quite large, and I would have liked a bit more variety between them.
I really liked the metal detector. The visuals are quite appealing. Holding ESC feels like a very unusual choice, but overall it was fun! Thanks!
Oh, this is a really interesting idea. I enjoyed puzzling over it and trying to figure out the right combination. It gave me a similar vibe to Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, but played solo and without a timer — though you still have a limited number of attempts to guess.
It was a bit hard to keep track of everything, especially if I got distracted and forgot the previous value. But overall, the game is quite addictive. Thanks!
Interesting take on checkers. I lost, but it was fun to play.
The music getting more intense toward the end was really powerful. I wish I could give it a separate rating just for that 🙂
Wow! The idea is really cool — I liked it a lot! The graphics are great, the sounds are pleasant, and the controls feel responsive. Perfect for a jam! 10/10!
I really liked how the idea of the signal and the goal were presented. The lighthouse feels like something truly beautiful and worth reaching.
I also enjoyed the engine-check mechanic and the overall sense of confinement — it adds a lot to the atmosphere. The visuals are great too.
I’d love to see a bit of tutorialization and more sound design, but overall it was a really nice experience.
I really liked it! The music is very energetic, and the gameplay is similar to Alien Shooter — only you’re a helicopter!
A very engaging waveform idea. The levels are well designed and it’s interesting to replay them. Thanks!
@mr-flower Thanks a lot for the feedback! Really glad you enjoyed it 🙂
There are actually 4 phases in the game, which I treat as difficulty levels. They gradually ramp up in intensity and then switch back to a calmer rhythm to give a bit of breathing space.
Each phase is reflected through color changes, music intensity, and the strength/amount of the red spheres 🙂
I definitely want to add more variety in the future as well.
@alex-mulkerrin Thank you, that’s really nice to hear!
I decided to lower the difficulty for the jam so players wouldn’t have to sweat too much or die in the first few minutes. I’m glad you were able to stay alive for a while 😄
@manabreak thank you! I’m really glad to hear that! I tried to polish it as much as possible. So many ideas ahead
@makintosh It looks like Unity isn’t even trying to load the game, so I’m not sure what’s going on. Do you see any errors in the console? If yes, please let me know.
From your screenshot, it seems like you’re trying to play it on ldjam.com. You could also try running it on itch.io or downloading the Windows desktop version
Thanks for letting me know!
@isaac-hisey @pastmoments Wow, impressive! I couldn’t reach that score myself 😂
I’m planning to add more variety to the game, so feel free to bookmark it on itch.io
@gantunk Thanks for the feedback! OMG, I set the dash cooldown to 2 seconds — that’s actually way too much 😅 I’ve fixed that in the itch.io version.
But there’s good news: if you time it with the beat, you can do the next dash instantly. Though I agree, that might be pretty tricky.
@rubatotree it's great feedback, thank you! Yeah, I definitely want to take some rest and then push the concept further, including more sound variations. It should be easy to add at this point. I already notice some rough parts in the audio, but I’m glad they weren’t too noticeable
@rubatotree I just realized I’ve actually played your previous game! Amazing. I had a feeling I’d seen this kind of vibe before!
I even had your “DEPTHS” game in mind during development.
@mikan Impressive! You beat my best score! LD59_Game_4k9OS5dmI9.png
@haln Thanks a lot for the feedback!
I’m really glad you enjoyed the gameplay and the beat, but I’m sorry about the motion sickness — that definitely shouldn’t happen. I’ll see what I can do about it.
And thanks for reporting the fullscreen issue — that might be something on Unity’s side, as I didn’t implement fullscreen behavior myself. I’ll still look into it and see if there’s anything I can do.
@w2k Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah, I’m planning to add more variety as I continue developing the project — I’m already working on some new features. Unfortunately, due to LD rules, I can’t upload those updates here since they were made after the deadline, but they will be available on itch.io.
As for the theme — the “signal” is represented by the rhythm. The current beat drives the gameplay: it controls the pacing and difficulty, and if you follow it, you can chain actions more effectively (like dashing in sync).
@hammeredzombie Sorry to hear you’re having trouble launching the game!
You could try playing it on itch.io or downloading the Windows build instead. Also, there’s a chance some resources might not be accessible at the moment — I’ve noticed it only works for me with a VPN right now.
@hammeredzombie Thanks a lot for giving it another try!
Sorry about that — the screenshake and pulsing definitely shouldn’t make it uncomfortable to play. I’ll see what I can do to tone it down or make it optional.
Really appreciate you pointing this out!
@stormdrill Thanks a lot, that’s really nice to hear! I’m actually working on expanding and polishing the game right now.
@oxnh Wow, that’s a great score! 😄 Thanks for the feedback and the suggestions — I’m actually working on making the systems easier to expand right now. Appreciate it!
@tolviere Wow, that’s impressive! At the moment, you’re the best player in my game! I probably should’ve added a leaderboard :)
Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback. I agree with all of it, and I plan to address these points in the post-LD version on itch.io, while also adding more variety to the game.
Originally, I didn’t include HP display because I didn’t think it was necessary, but many players have been mentioning it, so I’ll reconsider it.
You can’t take damage multiple times in a row — after the first hit, you get a short period of invulnerability. I also significantly reduced the flashing effect so it’s less harsh on the eyes.
Regarding the dash mechanic — the original idea was that you could dash without cooldown if you stay in sync with the beat. If you miss the timing, you get a cooldown penalty. However, in the release a flat 2-second cooldown ended up being used, which unfortunately makes it unintuitive
@venomousmouse Thanks! 😄 I’m currently working on improving and expanding the game. Really appreciate the feedback!
@jerrywest Wow, we’ve got a new leader! 😄 I definitely regret not having a leaderboard in the current version of the game.
I’m still thinking about adding more musical variety. Since the beat is generated in real time, I need to better understand the genre first before I can recreate it properly.
@pavel-goncharov Thanks for the feedback! You didn’t miss it — there’s currently no way to exit the Settings menu. I’m planning to add both a proper menu and pause functionality in the post-jam version.
What the hell? Cappuccino Assassino? A toilet? Sigma? So many unexpected twists — I have no words :D
I love the space exploration theme — you really nailed it!
I wasn’t quite sure what to do when I noticed something strange though — did I miss something?
@tweekus Hmm, how do I skip? I found something strange, but there's only a 'Send' button on computer. I thought the 'Sleep' action might work, but it didn't.
@tweekus oh, I didn’t notice that! I’ve completed the game now. One question though — what’s the purpose of the bed?
The tutorial board — my compliments!
The game has a really great vibe. The forest, the tent, the campfire… it really makes you want to immerse yourself in it.
Thanks!
Cute main character and interesting puzzles
At first I didn’t understand how to move and was about to quit, but once I figured it out, I couldn’t put it down!
I really liked the idea and the puzzles. A short tutorial at the start would make the experience even better.
The idea is very unusual and definitely deserves attention. But I couldn’t solve the first puzzle — I press CTRL + OK, but nothing happens :( The music is great!
A lot of work has clearly gone into this. Thanks, guys — this is shitposting, not doomscrolling! Great job 👍
I liked how responsive the game feels, and overall it looks pretty good. It wasn’t immediately clear that you need to hold the card over the enemy to shoot.
Thank you for the tutorial and the web version! It was fun to play. I made it to the shooting phase a couple of times, but died every time...
I wish you wouldn’t take damage from meteors that have already passed (when you’re on the same row), so that you don’t get hit by them while dashing.
Thanks for the cutscenes — they really help break up the gameplay. Overall, I liked it a lot. The minigun car is awesome! Would be great to have some engine sound though.
Can Unity ECS physics really work like this? I didn’t know that. At first I thought those were grass leaves :D
Could you explain the core gameplay a bit more?
I managed to deal damage by drawing a straight line and got the enemy down to 38 HP, but after that it seemed like no more damage was applied. Not sure if I missed something.
I liked the idea. The hot teacher definitely caught my attention :)
Got stuck on the second level. I wasn’t quite sure what signal I was supposed to give.
I liked the overall 8-bit vibe of the game. The controls are quite difficult, but you can get used to them. In the end I got into it, and after a couple of upgrades it became really interesting to play.
If the controls were made a bit more comfortable, it would turn into a really great jam game!
The losing animation is so funny. Overall, it’s really entertaining to look for the answers that make her get angry :D
Thanks!
P.S. Pressing space at the beginning doesn’t work :(
I kind of missed zombie shooters, and I liked this one. I’m not sure if there’s any progression system, but I still enjoyed shooting. Thanks!
I got really scared when I saw the creature crawling on the ceiling. Awesome!
Wow! I really liked the animations. I got a bit of a Little Nightmares vibe. In this game, even dying feels satisfying! The continued movement after releasing the controls actually makes a lot of sense in this context.
Thanks for the game, I enjoyed it!
The idea sounds interesting, but the execution isn’t very clear. I’d prefer to figure things out in-game rather than reading instructions, or at least have an in-game tutorial.
Also, the fast movement made me feel a bit unwell. If you decide to improve the game, it would be great to make it smoother and more comfortable to play.
Interesting implementation of a rhythm game. I liked it, although the controls are quite challenging. You need to watch several parts of the screen at the same time. But it feels rewarding when you get into the rhythm :)
The timing felt very strict to me.
I also made a kind of rhythm bullet hell game, I’d be happy if you check it out :)
Очень крутой визуал и звук. Понравилось что везде есть меню. Да и шутки про VPN очень в тему. Правда не хватило обучения, долго не понимал, что нужно нажать пробел на узле. В целом выглядит отполированно. Спасибо!
First FPS I’ve seen these days! Overall it looks pretty cool — it’s a shame there’s no sound. At first I even thought it was going to be a multiplayer game
My thoughts on the game: damn, it looks cool — a simple main character, but great sound and nice visuals. The audio does feel a bit like a horror game though, even if it’s clearly about sonar.
Oh, I need a key. So I guess I have to go back and search through the maze.
AAAAAA, A RED THING. IT IS A HORROR GAME AFTER ALL.
Thanks, I had a ton of emotions 😄
A nice “cross the road” idea. I really enjoyed it and played it through to the end. The game is very relaxing and fun. The art and music leave a great impression. Thanks for the game!
I love games with minions! Great idea, thanks for the game!
Quite an unusual concept. I’ve never encountered semaphore mechanics like this before. I managed to get “Great” a few times in endless mode, but for some reason it switches to “Trash” after the first attempt. I didn’t fully understand the idea, but it does look interesting.
I liked the idea of the snowstorm — it reminded me of The Thing at first. At some point the game even turned into a shooter, which was really interesting!
Updated — turns out the problem was on my side. Sorry.
Looks very juicy. The squirrel is awesome!
A simple game with movement similar to Squid Game. Blowing up was really fun 😄 It would be nice to have a restart button for the level.
The game reminded me of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, but for solo play :)
Overall, the idea is cool, but the tutorial has a bit too much text, and it appears quite slowly while the timer is running. Because of that, it’s not very tempting to replay — you just want to jump back in and try again 😕
I liked repetitive gameplay. Being able to invest points into upgrades after dying makes you want to keep playing.
I wasn’t quite sure about the upgrades though — are they passive?
Some background music would have been nice.
Thanks for the game, I enjoyed it!
I really liked the idea and how the sound adapts as a hint.
Wow, I really liked the idea. I love space themes, and everything here feels very scientific. Definitely respect for that!
The visual style — my compliments. It’s so good that I’d love to have it as a desktop wallpaper.
I really liked the telecom idea overall. As I understand it, each cell has a chance to “drop a packet” depending on its color, which is a really cool concept!
The only issue is that the difficulty curve feels a bit odd — once I connected four houses, there wasn’t much challenge left and I just started getting passive income. Also, it really felt like the game was missing sound effects.
The idea is pretty cool, but it’s not very clear without an explanation. I did enjoy destroying the ships
