Brutal! Great implementation of the theme, and a unique mechanic.

Great idea. PICK A FINGER.
I liked "reverse engineering" a drum machine. In terms of UI, one request would be that clicking a slot would play the sound that that slot makes, so I don't need to actually put something in the slot and play the whole sequence just to learn what sound that slot makes.
Other than that I thought the moment-to-moment was pretty fun, but it dragged on too long (there wasn't enough variation to support 10 rounds - maybe could have limited to one hand each). And when I finally got all 10 fingers, there was no ending? It just said "Take this" and there was no tape and nothing to grab and so I just had to quit.
@torte478 Thanks, glad you liked it!
@matt-giuca Damn, I was in such a hurry to release the game that I didn't even have time to test the final version. You're right — the sounds were supposed to play when you click on the slot, and the final credits should have appeared at the end. I just fixed the bugs and re-uploaded the updated builds. Thanks a lot for the feedback!
The game's idea is quite unusual. The graphics are stylish. As for the finger tearing off — I didn't get that at all, and that fact shocked me.
This game made me smile) It was supposed to be about sound, but then bam - it's tearing your fingers off) I liked the idea.
chopping off fingers is tough :)
Game is good but sound - my ears, graphic is nice
Good game, but u must add sound volume settings in game like this
I've picked all the fingers!!! Didn't really get why should I choose cassettes sometimes if I can't hear them first. But still good job!
The concept is fun, the gameplay is quite unique and engaging! I liked it! Though I lost a couple of fingers before realising that I can listen to the tape again.
This guy took all my fingers, next time I'll come with prosthetics and take his fingers
Very enjoyable game. The concept of a rhythmic puzzle is very original; I really like the idea. Very well executed.
Прикольная игра земляк ;)
Definitely a unique idea. Love the circular way of representing the rhythm, and the process of recreating the tracks and seeing how it compared. I'm not really sure about the finger thing, but only lost one before I realised I could listen again, and try the tapes without submitting it.
good idea and execution!! it would be awesome to see this concept developed further

Guys I'd absolutely love to hear ideas for new game mechanics so I can turn this short version into a full fun game. Feel free to share whatever crazy ideas you've got ; )
I played it on the fair and it was really great!
I am glad this game was not overly complicated and I managed to complete it from start to the end with no frustration :) Well done, a very good submission for compo!
@lesdremlet As different as the finger chopping was, I would lean into the music side of the game more :)
(is Chopin your favourite composer perchance?)
@vydra @fkjaha thanks a lot guys!
@fadingdreamstories oh cool so what kind of music and rhythm mechanics could you even see in a game like that? My ideas were mostly about making things harder by limiting how many times you can listen to the reference or cards (kinda like a battery charge on a tape player?) as a risk thing for the player. Also being able to swap tapes but without getting back the listens you already used. And maybe give each tape a special ability like taking away two lives at once instead of one, stuff like that.
Haha nice joke! But if seriously - Satie, Debussy, Scriabin and from the modern ones is for example Brian Eno and Harold Budd are my favs ; )
@lesdremlet First thing that comes to mind is a duelling banjo type thing - you match the last song, but build on it. Could also be hitting things like an orchestra, or matching a dance. It's a really cool way of doing music loops though

Really neat game! The cutting fingers off was very unexpected but added some humor and a nice break in between rounds. I think it was a bit too easy, especially considering the fact that you get to listen to your track before you submit it. I think you could easily add difficulty levels by limiting the number of times you're allowed to play back the track you make. Also a sandbox mode where you can create your own rhythms with different instruments would be neat. For a full game, I would also like to know the story behind why two men are cutting each other's fingers off over rhythm matching lol. Overall, really nice game and great execution on a cool concept!

The idea looks interesting. I’ve only recently started learning music and my ear isn’t very well trained yet, but I still managed to finish the game!
I liked that you can tap along with the rhythm. Some levels are really easy, while others are quite challenging — I struggled to find the right card at times. I could clearly hear three beats, but the available cards were two or four.
I’m down to three fingers.
This was a really interesting idea, although I was surprised at how easy I found it to be. A lot of the time you can get by with kind of just counting the number of beats. Reminded me of the Caveman Rock game from Dr Brain 4 (deep cut) which I always liked. Finger chopping was... an odd choice
Great idea, I loved to pick up sounds for tunes. I got through it with nine fingers, so I had to give up my right pinky( Excellent entry!
EZ for amateur music composer~ Cleared the game without any failure :open_hands: The gameplay is interesting and I hope there can be a HARD mode lol. I love this "call-response" like idea and maybe my game have a similar gameplay with yours. And the finger cutting is so cruel waaaaaaa!
This was really fun! I admit I had a pretty strong advantage having used sequencers and beat grids for many many years, so I was able to make it to the end without any mistakes. But I could easily see it becoming complicated enough to become really challenging.
I could imagine some sort of hidden element where the chopped off fingers have some sort of effect on the sequences (you can imagine the fingers themselves as "on" or "off" on a sequencer) but I don't have an immediate ideas on how that might work. But it would add a tactical element to the choice of which finger, beyond just the gruesomeness.
Nice and unique puzzle style, and refreshing to play a rhythm game that didn't require timed inputs. Well done!
Прикольная игра, жалко пальцы)
This game really made me smile! It started out seeming like it was all about sound, but then it’s ripping your fingers off. I loved the concept.
this guy took all my fingers istg next time im coming back with prosthetics lmao 10/10 concept
Great game!
There is many different things (UI, audio, gameplay) done in a such little amount of time, good job!
(First try, no errors, no fingers left :see_no_evil:)
**Awesome game** - challenging at moments, but I was completely hooked. Gave me Roald Dahl's 'The Bet' vibes. Such a great conceptСнимок экрана 2026-05-06 215025.png
Very interesting concept with the music! The finger-cutting part surprised me :)
good game, and pick a finger was a nice way yo show how much levels left. lost only 1 finger on the last challenge.
