GA GAME ME by Jezzamon 2021-04-29T02:47:56Z

Such a cool idea! I can definitely imagine this being expanded into a bigger game and all the mind-bending puzzles you could have. Really great, one of my favorites so far. Would love to see this with gamepad controls. Nice work!!

Drill18^2 - This is Just a Drill by quill18 2021-04-28T20:18:43Z

Once I got the hang of it, it was very addicting! Obviously there are some UX/UI issues that I expect would've been polished on a longer jam. My main suggestion in that regard would be to have different looking cards for each stack (your hand, tasks, and problems). Also a way to view your entire deck while selecting a new card would be handy, but maybe was left out for balance reasons.

Anyhow, great job and a lot of fun!

Descending by khofez 2021-04-30T17:27:58Z

Excellent atmosphere, and a surprising variety of enemy types! Felt it was a bit to dark in places, though maybe that was intentional. Sometimes it was difficult to figure out what was causing me damage, or how to get out of some of the dead end rooms (the little ledges are just low enough to catch you every time unless you do a super tiny jump). But overall a really great result for the amount of time!

self reflection by torcado 2021-04-28T23:45:20Z

Just completed. So far this is the best implementation I've seen of the theme yet! The puzzles are all really well done, and the last one in particular was a head-scratcher. Really nice work!

Aquarial by AidanMarkham 2021-04-28T21:50:31Z

Haha, this was great. The little quests were definitely fun, but the surrealism of the ending is what really sold it for me. Camera angles during dialog could be a little janky sometimes, but overall I never had any questions about what I was doing or where to go next. Well done!

Nuclear blaze by deepnight 2023-04-28T17:44:29Z

Just saw this release on Xbox and thought "hey, that looks familiar..." Congrats on the full release!

Descentris by PhilStrahl 2021-05-01T21:00:21Z

Very fun iteration of Tetris, and the challenge amps up really well. Great work!

Dome Romantik by Rongo Matane 2021-05-06T03:40:20Z

This has absolutely been my favorite game so far, just the sort of gameplay loop I get sucked into. Had some audio issues (crackling, lag) when playing the HTML5 version, I'll have to try to Windows version which I'm sure will fix that.

Joined your Discord and really excited to see where this goes! Fantastic job!

The plot chickens by JPiolho 2021-05-07T23:47:21Z

The voxel-style is really unique, the only game with this graphical style that I've seen this jam! The audio matches the tone perfectly and the dialogue is very well written. Excellent job!

The Void by AMastryukov 2021-05-07T23:58:25Z

I think the is the only game I've played so far that has a cutscene! Great 3D environment and the radio puzzle was pretty tricky. Sound design well well done too. Really nice job!!

Deep Blue by Jiri Hysek 2021-05-03T23:53:04Z

Really impressive for a solo 48-hour effort! The lighting and sounds are all spot on. I do wish the music didn't start over every time you died.

The controls are tight, but I noticed if you're swimming down and to the right and want to start swimming down and to the left, the diver will do a complete spin around instead of just changing the angle to the new direction. It didn't affect my experience in any way, just thought it was a funny quirk.

But yeah, very nice work!

Shovel Guy by NotSpaghettiGames 2021-05-04T00:09:58Z

Definitely a good core idea here. Very cute sprite work and fun gameplay. Control scheme was a bit unusual but didn't take too long to get the hang of it. Would love to see gamepad support in the future perhaps. Nice work!

Deeper Understanding by detectiveLosos 2021-04-30T16:51:34Z

Shellie was such a sweetie!

Super atmospheric and unnerving, would love to see where this goes with a little more development time!

They Know We Know by gregoire_d 2021-05-01T19:50:28Z

Very disturbing, and super high production value all around. I think this is the first title I've seen so far that had a graphics options menu, which I really appreciate. Nice work!

Grapple Tongue by Mors 2021-04-27T22:54:03Z

Really enjoyed it! First game I've played to the end, I think. That said the ending is kind of a let-down, considering the text at the start of the game building it up. Experienced some minor bugs (up-left not working with arrow keys, switched to gamepad and it worked fine) and tongue randomly latching on to thin air, but didn't really affect my enjoyment. Overall really scratched that Celeste itch. I'd love to see this concept developed into a bigger game!

Bulldozer By The Sea by eldogg 2021-05-01T20:26:15Z

What a fun game! Really strong Katamari/Nobi Nobi Boy vibes. Music is really upbeat and propulsive, and the voices are pretty funny. No real complaints, especially considering the timeframe. Would love to see some more objective variety/difficulty with longer development time. Fantastic!

DeepO by Rodrysson 2021-05-07T23:29:44Z

Really loved this! I imagine it as a great proof-of-concept for full-size game. I can imagine all sorts of good puzzles with this mechanic. All of the elements fit together really well. Very nice job!

Me:Tree! - New Roots by Groggi 2021-05-06T23:55:04Z

Really love the concept here, I can see this being a fantastic and relaxing mobile title. The gameplay still needs a bit of balancing, but for a compo this is great. I lost many trees, but still wanted to keep coming back to do a little better. Great work!

Hole by MaximeGammaitoni 2021-05-01T20:37:59Z

Fun and varied puzzles and obstacles! Three were times I felt that either the player character was too large, or the hitbox was. But it only led to a couple of frustrating moments, I was still able to complete it. Nice work!

Delevator by guladam 2021-04-29T00:01:38Z

Well, that was fuckin' grim... but I wanted to follow the story the whole way! Really like the art direction and sound design. Well done!

SUBTERRA by daniele 2021-04-29T00:10:55Z

Really nice concept! Having to manage the miners as well as the machine is pretty intense, but fun. The tonal shift from the intro to the gameplay is a little jarring, and the miners voices, while cute for the first couple of minutes, got slightly irritating. That said: the audio design overall was really nice and fit the visuals well. The pixel art is some of the best I've seen yet. Great job!

Billy's Gone Again by KingOfNova 2021-05-07T23:19:20Z

This was great! Loved the sense of humor and enemy-specific drops. Well-balanced, and the music and audio were a lot of fun. Nice work!

Ixcar'th by Zliebowitz 2021-05-03T01:46:46Z

Moving around is fun, and I really liked the super responsive wall-jump. As others have rightly noted, the music is great!

I was engaged enough to complete the game, but found whacking away at inanimate cubes to be fairly dull, I wish there had been other enemy types populating the levels that would maybe pull you away from the cubes and the cube energy would start to regenerate, something to add some more tension.

That said, I still had fun. Nice work!

6 Feet Under by theStoff 2021-04-29T00:38:46Z

A devilishly simple control scheme that rewards mastery and punishes sloppy play. The black and white art style was a bold choice but the pixel art and animation details really sell it. The song is going to be stuck in my head for a while!

There, Again by Honey Pony 2021-05-01T20:13:49Z

I had fun with this one, can definitely feel the influences at work. The connection to the theme felt a little tenuous to me, but didn't keep me from enjoying the gameplay.

I did experience a recurring bug where I seemed to hit a brick wall occasionally. Sometimes it was while running, others while in mid-air. I didn't notice any consistent thing that was causing it though.

Anyhow, nice work and very fun!

Turn of the Tide by Polyethyleneglykol 2021-04-28T23:50:46Z

@profan I'm really happy you liked the music! I was my first go at making a military/war-style soundtrack :)

@loginaut Thanks for playing and giving feedback. I'm glad you liked the audio!

Turn of the Tide by Polyethyleneglykol 2021-05-02T00:08:06Z

@asdehielo Thanks for the feedback! Really happy you enjoyed the music :D

I'll let @polyethyleneglykol chime on the details, but I'll say that you only have direct control over your subterfuge squad to assist your side (coming from base on the west) in claiming all of the outposts and the base on the east side of the map. Thanks so much for checking it out!

Turn of the Tide by Polyethyleneglykol 2021-05-02T18:20:11Z

@eldogg Thanks for giving it a play!! Really glad you enjoyed the music, it was a lot of fun to work on. :)

Turn of the Tide by Polyethyleneglykol 2021-05-03T23:59:42Z

@vetu11 Thanks so much for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed the music :) Looking forward to doing more LDs in the future

@jkoftekian I appreciate you taking the time to play the game and listen to the music! When the game begins, you have direct control over the saboteur unit in the middle of the screen. You can click and drag to select and then right click to direct him where to go. He'll automatically shoot at anything that can be destroyed (towers, enemy vehicles, other enemy troops) or can lay down explosive traps by clicking the button on the left side. Destroying towers reduces the amount of resources that the enemy draws from bases they claim, making it much easier for your side (mostly controlled by AI) to win. I hope that helps!

Turn of the Tide by Polyethyleneglykol 2021-05-04T17:06:46Z

@james-gillespie Thanks for taking the time to play and review! I'm really happy you enjoyed the music :)

@bmacintosh Thanks for the kind words! The bombs detonate automatically when an enemy vehicle comes within proximity of them. Just be careful not to have your guy(s) standing too close when it goes off!

Turn of the Tide by Polyethyleneglykol 2021-05-06T16:26:57Z

@lisichka thanks for playing :)

@jrevel Thanks for your constructive feedback! I agree that it was a huge idea to try in 72 hours. We originally did have a "zoom to unit" button implemented, but it caused a lot of problems so we ended up having to take it out right before release. Similarly with the "units spawning in the middle of the screen"... we had plans to balance that better. Really glad you were able to enjoy it though, and thanks so much for your input!

@justcamh Hi Cameron! Cameron here :) I composed the music and helped brainstorm concepts and stuff, but I can speak to some of the things that came up in your playthrough. Gotta admit I got antsy when you were fixing audio levels while the tutorial was playing, haha! But I was surprised by how much you were able to figure out anyway considering it's fairly esoteric...

One major thing you didn't figure out (and this was a UI issue, not your fault) was that vehicle units with green health bars were on YOUR side. Vehicles (and soldiers) with red health bars were enemy units. Friendly units originate from the base on the left side of the map, and enemies on the right. The "AI Target" buildings are resource centers, and the vehicles from either side go to those to try to claim them. The more resource stations your side has claimed, the more vehicles/troops it can produce to overwhelm the enemy side. Taking out the towers reduces the multiplier applied to resources gathered by the enemies.

Overall, it was really enjoyable and informative to watch your playthrough. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Turn of the Tide by Polyethyleneglykol 2021-05-12T14:53:19Z

@honey-pony What OS are you running?

Turn of the Tide by Polyethyleneglykol 2021-05-13T02:37:29Z

@honey-pony Interesting... I know we've experienced some issues with the Mac release, but I haven't seen anyone run into issues with the Windows version yet. :\ I'm sorry you weren't able to get it running, that's disappointing! I'll look into it and let you know if we're able to figure anything out..

Polyomino Prospector by David-Liddelow 2021-05-01T20:48:36Z

I'm not sure I have much to add beyond what everyone else has said. Really excellent iteration on the Tetris design. The kind of Old West Saloon re-imagining of the Type A music was a fantastic choice. The digging rules weren't always obvious, but also didn't hinder progress too much. Great work!

SelkΓΆ by Doot 2021-05-05T21:54:54Z

Very nice atmosphere, easy to understand controls, and very relaxing. I wish there had been a couple more puzzles, but understand the time constraint. Very nice work!

Deep Dream by oscarglo 2021-05-03T01:32:23Z

I can see the potential here for sure, especially if you were to start mixing the various control schemes together in single stages. Obviously the game is super short but I had fun with it! Nice work :)

Trapdoor in the Garden by InitialPosition 2021-04-27T02:19:57Z

This was fun! The art style is great, a lot of legibility for such a low resolution. The little wizard is super cute too :)

HELL deep is your love? by Villanelle 2021-05-03T20:27:03Z

Really fantastic work! I don't know what to add that others haven't already said many times. Super unique (and well-implemented) graphical style, great soundtrack, and tough but addictive gameplay.

If I had any criticism, it's that the theme is implemented in a fairly simplistic fashion (go down) and the platforming obstacles are well-trodden territory. But games like this are classics for a reason! Nice job!!

The Fault by CATANYAW 2021-05-01T21:04:35Z

Got to the dark room with the boxes and spent a couple of minutes trying to figure out what to do without any luck.

Blue Square and the Mystery Cave by asdehielo 2021-05-01T19:36:10Z

Very mellow mood and fun, if simple, puzzles. I agree that the ability to move the camera would've been helpful a couple of times, but it didn't prevent me from finishing the game. Nice work!

CHROMAHOLIC by Secret Magic 404 2021-05-03T01:22:25Z

The visuals are very unique and beautiful. However the gameplay wasn't engaging enough to try to figure out what I was supposed to be trying to accomplish. Once I read through some of the comments here, it made more sense, but some sort of instruction like "collect the orbs before the darkness swallows you" or something would've helped with engagement at the beginning.

That said, the presentation is super unique and the sound design added to the atmosphere nicely!

LD49 — Unstable

Jingoku by Skyeward 2021-10-12T15:30:04Z

I'm absolute garbage at the minigames, but they're a blast nonetheless. This game is oozing with style, and it's clear there is a very strong sense of graphic design and UX/UI. The sound design is on point as well. Fantastic work!

Tol by Decentsauce 2021-10-05T20:25:42Z

This was a lot of fun! I never fully got a grasp on why the top would fall over (sometimes it would happen very early on during an attempt) but the gameplay mechanic is a lot of fun, and I bet would be a great match for touch controls!

RUIN ESCAPE by reccy 2021-10-05T21:09:32Z

I'm glad I'm not the only person to get stuck on level 2. I'm also bad at Baba Is You, for that matter.

Regardless, the concept is really interesting, and I can imagine that some intermediate puzzles between level 1 and 2 would help me grasp strategies a little better.

Very nice concept, and impressive for only 10 hours!

Kaboom Box by kleinzach 2021-10-20T21:25:24Z

This was fun! Great ramp up in complexity, and I can imagine puzzles getting quite complicated if there were more. I understand the purpose of the beeping, but found it to get a little annoying after a few puzzles. Other than that minor nitpick, this was a really solid entry. Well done!

Burning Ravager by sinclairstrange 2021-10-22T18:41:19Z

A really incredible achievement for 72 hours. Congrats on your 2nd win! The game is a lot of fun, and sprite work is really cute. I don't have much to add that hasn't been said above. Just wanted to say congrats!!

50 Crowns for 50 Kings by juxipolo 2021-10-20T18:28:25Z

Incredibly impressive for a game jam! I really like the alternate history aspect of it.

Were it developed over a longer period, an tutorial section where maybe you just play in the original 13 colonies, or New England, etc, would help introduce the concepts and how everything connects a little better. As it is now, it's pretty overwhelming when you first load it up.

I feel like this is something you could really sit down and play for a long time. Really well done!

Lizzie's Lucky Potion Shop by celia14 2021-10-18T21:03:54Z

Really great looking game! The UI and all the icons are extremely well done. I managed to get the full set of potions brewed. A little splash screen upon completion would've been cool, but I understand there probably wasn't time.

I never felt compelled to brew multiple types of potions in the cauldrons. The nature of the jackpot spins meant I could arrange the ingredients in such a way as to try to get multiple star values of the same potion at once. That said, I'm not sure if that was your intention with including 3 cauldrons, but with the countdown timers, I assumed you were wanting the player to have different types of potions going at once, which I didn't feel incentivized towards doing.

That's the only real constructive feedback I have. Otherwise it's fun and very pretty look at. Nice work!

SEXY BOOBY 95 by silkworm_sweatshop 2021-10-05T19:29:58Z

Came for the booby. Was not disappointed. A++++

Karawan by Rongo Matane 2021-10-05T17:09:56Z

@digital-bacon @fishtaod @bernard-bumblebutt I appreciate your feedback, and I'm really happy you enjoyed the music :D

I released the soundtrack on Bandcamp (for free) if you're interested: https://cameronpaxton.bandcamp.com/album/karawan-ost

Karawan by Rongo Matane 2021-10-05T23:57:46Z

@ic-rainbow not a user-controlled one, no, but if you encounter a situation where you cannot move forward, a context menu will appear that will allow you to reverse the caravan.

Karawan by Rongo Matane 2021-10-07T13:23:51Z

@purpledartfrog So glad you liked it!

To build a bridge, just guide your lead wagon over a water tile. If you have 5 wood in your inventory, the bridge will automatically build. Thanks so much for the feedback!

Karawan by Rongo Matane 2021-10-09T23:32:58Z

@nakami So happy that you enjoyed Karawan. Thanks for playing it!

We're actually still working on Dome Romantik from LD48: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1637320/Dome_Romantik/

Karawan by Rongo Matane 2021-10-12T13:12:50Z

@elysiagriffin composer for the game here. I wasn't able to join for the stream, but finally got a chance to watch the VOD. Thanks so much for playing, that was fun to watch!

Deviant by wolderado 2021-10-21T19:35:46Z

haha, that was a lot of fun! Good dynamic between the bonkers massacre segments and the run-and-hide segments. Super easy to pick up and play. Simple, but effective pixel art and the music was fun too. Nice work!

Quantum Splitter by thetatautau 2021-10-12T14:44:16Z

Nice, that was a lot of fun! This is exactly the sort of game I love playing on my phone, but it's a unique puzzler that I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen before!

Orbital Turbulence by Bewelge 2021-10-20T21:51:26Z

Really elegant and meditative game. Still felt peaceful even with the planets went up in flames and vanished into interstellar space. No real criticism here, it's simple and solid in its execution. Nice job!

Deepwell Safety Inc. by rock-gong 2021-10-20T21:12:15Z

Really fun inventory management system! I think the original storage area should start out even smaller, as the very beginning of the game has no challenge at all. I definitely enjoyed the Papers, Please vibe, and rearranging the storage once it got full was very satisfying. Well done!

CandleLight by PaulLyaudet 2021-10-19T14:14:49Z

Very cute premise with a ton of fun gameplay potential. The graphics are outstanding, as well as the level design. As mentioned above, the mix of low light with some holes in the floor could be frustrating, but once you fall and die once or twice, you know where they are.

The music loop is nice and moody, but very short, the other sound design is on point though.

Overall really fun, and probably the most beautiful game I've played in this jam. Nice work :)

Hazmat Magic by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-10-18T00:05:47Z

Really enjoyed this, which isn't surprising as I always enjoy your games! The puzzle with the sideways lift had me stumped for a minute :D

I'll agree that the gray bg feels drab, but the colors you need to pay attention to really pop against it, so it's easy to focus on what's important.

Also the throwing mechanics weren't always clear. There were a few times I had to reset a stage because the beaker didn't end up where I expected it to. Not a big deal, and I'm sure it'd have been ironed out if you'd had more time.

Music and sound are on point too, really nice vibe. Excellent entry once again!

Brittle Buildings by J.Broccoli 2021-10-05T14:04:14Z

Unfortunately I keep getting a "Virus detected" error trying to download it...

Brittle Buildings by J.Broccoli 2021-10-05T16:46:42Z

@wolfmeryx Cool, I'm not sure exactly where it's getting flagged (either browser or OS) but I'll try to track it down and see if I can get it running!

Brittle Buildings by J.Broccoli 2021-10-05T17:06:08Z

Really fun! I wish there was a "restart" button to easily start from scratch (or the ability to move modules during the upgrade phase). There were a few times I placed a module without fully realizing how it would function and was stuck with it. But easy enough to just start a new game :)

Brittle_Buildings_WxNPoPyGet.png I did encounter a soft lock at this point (after 3rd wave) All enemies cleared but the upgrade screen never came up.

Overall I really enjoyed it, and of course the music is badass. Nice work!!

Council of Emotions by squirmonkey 2021-10-20T21:35:56Z

This was cleverly done, and it does a good job at exploring how it is to feel unstable as a child. The voices of the animals were cute. I didn't understand what raising the stats in the lower left did, but it didn't affect my experience at all. Nice work!

precAIRious by rumor 2021-10-05T21:03:40Z

Pro tip: Use yaw controls!

This was a lot funnier than I was expecting. You picked a great audio track to go along, it fits the vibe perfectly. Nice job!

Project Earth by anstabo 2021-10-20T22:05:31Z

I would've liked the ability to advance the tutorial text at my own speed. As I was spinning the planet around and just looking at things, I missed a couple lines of tutorial. But, as I'm aware in my own jam games, getting the player on boarded quickly is as challenging as coming up with the gameplay in the first place!

All that said.... wow, this is such a beautiful and cool game. It's so much fun making the Earth zip through space and collect resources. I can see, with some more balancing and gradual introduction of elements, this being a top notch title. Well done!

Help, I cast the wrong spell! by JUSTCAMH 2021-10-22T18:37:44Z

Really cool, and well-deserved placing! I really felt for the little wizard

Definitely took some trial and error to understand the "jump off of an explosion" mechanic, but once I did it was really satisfying to pull off. The gameplay inversion in the 2nd half was also a great surprise and really funny.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to rate during the jam! Really nice job!!

Trauma by AdamCYounis 2021-10-18T00:37:53Z

Hi Adam, been watching your dev videos on YT for a while, glad I got to play one of your entries!

This was really interesting and well-executed. There were a couple of visual bugs here and there, but nothing that broke the game for me.

The main gameplay mechanic is super interesting, and I can definitely imagine it being fleshed out into a full experience.

I think it was brave to go with mental instability as the driving story element. There are many ways that could've gone wrong, but to me it was handled deftly.

Overall a really interesting entry. Nice work!

Silly Skateboarding by Richard08 2021-10-21T19:26:10Z

I really like the animations, particularly once the instability starts to stack up. Also really nice work with the dynamic music! Didn't hear too much of that from other games in this jam.

The gameplay is obviously very simple, but fun and effective. Fingers crossed you get over the 20 rating mark! Good luck!

Pile Up Medieval by zimny11 2021-10-05T17:21:33Z

Finally figured out how to damage the dragon! Though I couldn't see to hurt it much before it destroyed my towers. Still, I'd live there. Nice work!

Warhead Stroll by cagibi 2021-10-22T19:13:43Z

Congratulations on your placing! Really fun game, I'm sorry I didn't see it during the jam. Well done!

The Lesser Evil by Jon Topielski 2021-10-17T23:36:42Z

Definitely a lot of fun, and a really unique idea that naturally bumps up the difficulty curve. Died on the last night x_x

No real criticism I can think of, it's a really solid entry. Well done!

Atomic Rock Paper Scissors by lucasvb 2021-10-06T15:07:32Z

A really unique take on rock, paper, scissors, but very intuitive. It wasn't immediately apparent what the progress bars at the bottom were, but that was easy enough to figure out after a few minutes.

I think if I had a gripe, it would be that I would prefer to click & drag in a direction, instead of click, and then click again in a direction.

Overall a lot of fun. Nice work!

Deathrail by Hotowlgirls 2021-10-06T20:13:55Z

This was really cool! Definitely a bit of Ratchet and Clank, or Specter of Torment vibe, but obviously the balancing adds a completely new twist to it.

Would love to have gamepad controls. I think it would still be challenging, but certainly part of the challenge is just trying to manage this on a keyboard.

Great graphical style. Nice work!

Half Summoned by Game Endeavor 2021-10-21T19:21:19Z

That was definitely cute, and the core idea is solid. I can imagine a much deeper gameplay experience where you don't have control of a shifting character. I think you did a nice job in the time though! Particularly like the little knights.

My main criticisms are that the tentacle ability and the other large, flying one (soul sucking?) are essentially identical from a gameplay perspective. Also in the last room I was basically able to just zip by all the knights to the exit.

Fun little dungeon crawler, though. Nice work!

EVERY GROCERY STORE HAS ONE PRODUCT THAT BINDS EVERYTHING IN A UNIFIED ENERGY by calutron 2021-10-18T00:16:25Z

Definitely a cute entry, and the 1-bit graphics are well utilized. There isn't much gameplay to speak of, but I still enjoyed restoring order to the grocery store!

Lovecrafting by Concker_88 2021-10-20T13:52:54Z

It wasn't immediately apparent to me what I was doing, but after the first few rounds of cards it became clear.

The atmosphere of this game is unmatched, and the audio is lovely. Gameplay is really engaging and tense once you know what's going on. Didn't get a god on my first playthrough, but I'm going to try again now!

Keep talking, and Bob might not die by MakimoPL 2021-10-12T14:50:15Z

The core idea is definitely entertaining, and the first time I've seen the mic implemented in a jam game! However, it's a bit fiddly and as a player it's often unclear what I'm doing incorrectly, and often the layout of the obstacles seems impossible to pass. With some additional time spent on polishing, though, this would be a little gem. Nice job!

Thank you so much for taking the time to appreciate the music and leave such kind reviews! It was definitely a challenge to pump out 15 minutes of music in ~60 hours but it was a ton of fun :D

If you have any interest, I have it up as a free download here: https://cameronpaxton.bandcamp.com/album/orbles-ost

Thanks again, and happy jamming!

VargaVinter by Simon Rahnasto 2022-04-05T14:20:34Z

My babyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.......... Y-Y

Man, the atmosphere in this game is heavy! In the best way. Really felt hopeless and just barely scraping by the entire run... until I didn't scrape by anymore, that is. RIP.

I feel like in another context, you and the wolf could probably be buds, but everybody got hangry. Really liked the concept of the protector spirits for the birds and bunnies.

No real criticism, other than perhaps having the controls listed in game would be nice, but it was easy enough to just flip back to the browser to check them.

Anyway, nice work! (This is my first rate of LD50! Feeling a little loopy after the past 72 hours, but enjoyed your game all the same)

Untitled Zombie Shooter by Ismael Rodriguez by Ismael Rodriguez 2022-04-05T20:38:19Z

I'm glad you decided to challenge yourself! Your 2D platformers are always top-notch, so seeing an FPS from you was a surprise :D

I read your description and it seems like you're already aware of some of the shortcomings as far as it being an engaging game to play. But the time put into movement and shooting was worth it for experience! Shooting was really satisfying, as was watching the monsters fly apart >:D

One (relatively) minor post-jam update that would help a BUNCH would be an enemy radar. Most of my deaths felt anticlimactic because I would just get a "DEAD" screen because an enemy spawned behind me.

Overall though it's very cool to see you branching out!

LD52 — Harvest

It was all for the Tuna by rosypenguin 2023-01-20T22:30:45Z

Always enjoy the games your team makes :)

This one is super cute, and the controls are super intuitive and feel great! I appreciated that the godfin tuna took a little more strategy to reel in even with a maxed out boat. In a longer form game, it'd be great to see more planning and challenge built into the fishing like that.

The art direction is spot on, and the music is lovely! I loved the subtle adaptiveness of it. I just wish the loop were a bit longer. I think a "B" section would go a long way towards keeping it interesting and easy to listen to for a long play session.

Overall another really solid entry from you guys. I'm looking forward to more in the future. Well done!

The Orchid's Edge by Cornflowerblue 2023-01-11T15:39:13Z

Really well done! There is a lot to like here. The character models and designs are adorable and pique player interest. I definitely want to know where they came from and what they're up to! Music is beautiful, and the adaptive battle music is a nice touch as well.

Controls are really tight running around, but can feel a little floaty when jumping, and a little too rigid when battling. I felt I was getting hit a lot (particularly by airborn enemies) during the attack combo because I felt I didn't have full control of my character.

The gameplay is pretty boilerplate collect-a-thon, which isn't a negative thing. That genre is popular for a reason :) But if I were to strip the beautiful visuals out, I wouldn't see much compelling about the gameplay itself (beyond just the normal dopamine hits of collecting things and watching numbers go up).

All-in-all a super impressive entry. Nice work!!

Lavender Fields Forever by Rongo Matane 2023-01-11T17:28:31Z

@glaikunt Thanks so much! I'm happy you loved the music :) I probably won't be adding this to Spotify (it's tricky with the monetization aspect) but it's free to download! There is a link in the description. Not sure if you can still upload music from your personal collection to Spotify...

@digital-bacon Can you explain a little more in depth about being unable to fire the gun? Should be able to use either a mouse click or space. Neither of those worked for you?

Plant Harvester by zimny11 2023-01-11T14:50:50Z

Just the concept of using a combine harvester like an assault vehicle is pretty hilarious. I loved the variety of enemies and the artwork. I was genuinely surprised when the cotton boss showed up! The difficultly obviously comes primarily from the steering mechanic, which works really well, trying to remember whether left is left or right in the heat of the moment makes for some tense and fun situations. The little level up perks were a nice touch too. Nice work Zimny, you improve every time!

Wheat Master by nyxkn 2023-01-12T15:15:45Z

It's it strange how we're hard-wired to be so fascinated by "number go up"? I loved this. About as simple a game as it could be, but still super engaging and well-balanced. Slowly watching the automation take over was very satisfying.

One thing I'd like to see would be audio similar to Mini Motorways/Metro, where planting/harvesting has little musical notes. It would be very hectic by the end but I think would also add to the satisfaction of watching the score go up.

Really well done!

Soiled - A hectic 2D plant-selling game by treenut 2023-01-11T15:15:58Z

Fun concept! I like the idea of tight time management mixed with farming. Controls were a little fiddly, especially when it comes to planting seeds, but throwing flowers out of the window was a lot of fun. There were too many planting beds I think, and the 3rd floor didn't get used at all (I'm guessing that is something that would come into play if the game were expanded). Nice work! (also, when replying to people you may want to tag them, I'm not sure they see your responses otherwise)

Aggro-Culture by Ategon 2023-01-11T15:01:16Z

Fun concept, and a lot of modularity for adding new things in the post jam version! For some reason tomatoes weren't available to me in the 2nd world (did I deactivate them somehow?) so I had no way to defend my wheat. But yeah, good tower defense idea that has a lot of potential for growth! I liked the audio variety between the menu, gameplay, and upgrade screens. Well done!

LD53 — Delivery

Mad Meow: Purriosa's Panic by Strega 2023-05-03T18:48:38Z

This game is adorable, as always! Really like imagining it as the implied sequel to "All For the Tuna".

Audio is fun and fitting. SNES-style showdown!

I definitely like the idea of the gameplay, but understand this was a lot of scope for the time, meaning some balance stuff didn't quite make it in. I played a few rounds, but once the truck had 3 modules on it, the lasers would just tear me apart very quickly. Someone mentioned above, an invincibility cooldown after being hit would likely go a long way.

If you do a post-jam update, I'd love to see some visuals for the weapon projectiles too!

Y'all are one of my favorite jam teams, so it's always fun to see what you come up with :)

Ravenhaul by Rongo Matane 2023-05-05T23:24:43Z

@mar-zockmeister thank you!!

At least for the jam version, the controls are mouse+keyboard. No current option for mouse only...

Boxbrawl Delivery by Cruise Elroy 2023-05-04T03:17:45Z

Love the attention to detail in creating a faithful retro game. Game mechanics are super straightforward and the game plays exactly how I'd have expected a full release to play in the 80s. I honestly can't really think of any constructive criticism. Nicely done, and good luck in the jam!

Special Delivery by Ismael Rodriguez 2023-05-02T18:27:48Z

You're a master of this type of game! Loved the inclusion of the pixel-y 3D asset this time, I thought that was a nice touch. Really liked the "Kid A" style drums in the music track. Another great one, well done!

The Pigeon Post Principle by cassowary 2023-05-02T21:43:19Z

Really fun take on this style of puzzle game (not sure if it has a name?) Great balance, especially towards the end, giving a lot of "a-ha" moments that are crucial for puzzle games. Really enjoyed the soundtrack too, and that the track wasn't constantly starting from the beginning. The bit where the sax really starts going nuts is great and fits the mood really well. Excellent work!

Deliver to Whence you Came by JUSTCAMH 2023-05-09T21:09:30Z

Really great and unique game mechanic! I don't know if I've ever really seen anything like that before... it could feel a little fiddly at times, but I can imagine with some fine-tuning you'd really be able to make some incredible puzzles with it!

The atmosphere was really nice. Part of that was of course due to the robotmeadows music, but the art and sound did a lot too. I think if I had a complaint here, is that it was sometimes difficult to tell what was move-able ground and what was blank space because a lot of the tiles were so dark.

It's cool to see you progress over the past few jams. Really nice work!

Chain Mail by AdamCYounis 2023-05-03T23:59:09Z

I knew it was an Adam Younis game as soon as I saw the thumbnail :)

This was massively ambitious for a jam game! You were definitely smart to avoid doing animations and stuff, seems like focusing on the systems was the best bet.

I enjoyed the concept more than the execution though, and I think that was mostly down to UI issues. For instance, on the recruiting screen, if you click a character, you have to first unclick them before selecting another. There were a few instances like that where I felt some friction. I think a more detailed overview screen of your characters and their synergies would've been welcome too (although, obviously, difficult to implement in such a short time.)

Overall this is really impressive. Enjoyed the adaptive, epic soundtrack, and of course the art was beautiful. Well done, and good luck!

K-SANDWICH by mmatt_ugh 2023-05-03T23:16:58Z

You know a game's gonna be good when it feels fun just to move around. This had a great Super Meat Boy energy to it that I really appreciated. Everything just felt very sharp, and obviously punching people across the screen feel satisfying! Nice upbeat and fitting soundtrack too. I also thought it was cool how you taught an obscure mechanic after finishing. There was one time where I thought "did I just uppercut?" and couldn't replicate it. Found out at the end :) Nice work, and good luck!

Paddy's Portage by Spacespytv 2023-05-03T22:49:36Z

This was a lot of fun. Really loved the slinky music with the fretless bass sound, gave me some Final Fantasy 8 vibes, a bit!

While the game mechanics weren't especially innovative, they were really well done and balanced just right for a jam game. I died several times but was still able to complete it. I thought leaving the feathers of failed Paddys behind was a great detail!

Perhaps it was left out because I can imagine it could get annoying, but I think some sort of sound for the lasers would've been good and added to their menace a bit more.

All in all this was super enjoyable. Good luck in the jam!

PARCEL PUNISHER by SirMilkman 2023-05-03T23:41:21Z

Maybe it's because I'm getting old (I am) but the visual style was difficult for me to look at for too long. Thankfully the bright colors made it easy to differentiate the enemies and the breakable glass, but the mix of pixel AND sketch art felt a bit garish. The sound effects were also fairly harsh, especially compared to music.

Okay, negative part out of the way: this was still quite enjoyable. It has a great kinetic energy, and smashing glass and doors feels great. I felt powerful enough to tackle a room full of enemies but still vulnerable enough that I had to be intentional with my movement.

Solid entry, and good luck with the jam!

Rain On Their Parade! by TomasPraestholm 2023-05-03T23:06:30Z

What a cute game!! I really enjoyed this. Super simple premise, but the brief context note at the beginning of the stage made me really care about what I was doing. Your team clearly knows how to scope for a jam. The balance was good, and everything felt super polished. Really excellent work!

Also... what a massive, quality soundtrack! Fit the game perfectly. The biggest one I've ever done was 6 tracks, so I can only imagine the composer was exhausted by the end of this.

Thanks for such a heartwarming game, and good luck!

LD54 — Limited Space

Intermodal by jotson 2023-10-07T16:53:08Z

I'm one of those people who, when reading board game instructions, it may as well be in another language. I just have to figure it out by playing. I read the isntructions and when the game started it took me a minute to wrap my head around all the moving parts.

Once I did though, this was a lot of fun! Would love to see some leaderboard integration because I'm curious what sort of score a shipping container savant might get. I ended up with 411 on my first playthrough.

I really enjoyed the simple but very readable graphical style, and everything felt very responsive. I never had any questions about what was happened when I clicked on something, or what was waiting to be clicked on. So really fantastic UI!

I'm gonna have to come back to this one again :)

Space, Yarr! by SnekOfSpice 2023-10-07T16:36:04Z

I definitely enjoyed the concept here. Reminded me a lot of playing The Incredible Machine as a kid :) Soundtrack is great (obviously. Hey Adam!) and the voice acting gave it a lot of character.

I think other comments have pretty well said what I think about the UI. It didn't take me too long to figure out, but obviously with more time I think you'd polish that up. The only thing I didn't get on my own before reading other comments was that you have control over the cannon shot coming out of the ship. Things got a little more straightforward after that ^^;

Really fun, simple puzzle design wrapped in a unique aesthetic. Great job, y'all!

LD55 — Summoning

Tristram by Rongo Matane 2024-04-18T21:13:33Z

@rild Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

Our approach to the theme was summoning heroes (using the horn) to fight for you.

Tristram by Rongo Matane 2024-04-23T21:26:12Z

@blaise-ebuth Thanks so much for the detailed feedback!

A couple of those were addressed in the post jam version :) - There are a few different variations of the buildings as you upgrade them - The heroes now actually soak in the water (and wear swimsuits!) instead of jumping on top of it

The Unsummoning by Unx 2024-04-17T15:58:09Z

I think plenty of others have mentioned the difficulty already, but balancing a jam game is difficult even in the best of circumstances.

I like the overall concept, and the character design is sweet. I wish the music continually looped instead of restarting every time you die.

Time management is by far the toughest thing to master in jams, I think. Well done on what you were able to accomplish!

Would you still love me if I was a worm ❀️πŸͺ±? by samsface 2024-04-18T21:48:30Z

Oh man, what a fuckin gem this was. So much fun, and I love the idea of combining a deck builder with Wario Ware. And tower defense. The writing was excellent too, genuinely hilarious. Really nice job to everyone involved! Would murder birds again!

bergs by burnttoastdev 2024-04-22T15:04:01Z

Super cute! Very fun main mechanic that seems to have a lot of versatility for creating interesting puzzles. My only real complaint is that "E" and "R" are right beside each other. There were several times I accidentally reset a puzzle, but that's my own stupid fault.

Really well done, I enjoyed that a lot!

The Acolyte's Errand by DubiousCubious 2024-04-18T21:11:19Z

Character design was great! Controls felt pretty tight overall.

A couple of things I'd have liked to be different:

- watching the intro cutscene every time you die and want to start again sapped my motivation a bit - monsters stay inside of your hit box if you don't quickly move away from them. It'd be nice if they bounced off of you after dealing damage and then came back to attack again.

Congrats on joining the jam and finishing a game! Always an accomplishment, nice work!

LD59 — Signal

The Lighthouse by Iluvatar 2026-04-28T16:36:10Z

The atmosphere is really well-done. I do think there were a few moments that would have benefitted from some music, but otherwise the sound design really helped sell it. And full voice acting as well!

I played through a few times, but didn't get the sense that my choices made much difference. I found two ways of dying. Perhaps there were more?

I think the visuals and the vibe are definitely the stand-outs. Nice work!

PING by christina-antoinette-neofotistou 2026-04-26T17:34:16Z

Such a lovely game! Super simple mechanics and really engaging. I'm a big fan of your art, and this doesn't disappoint, the bat character is quite lovable.

The music is really pleasant too! My only critique is I wish it didn't restart after every death. That's really about it though!

And obviously fits the theme perfectly :) well done!

Digital Squirm Processing by GuyUnger 2026-05-07T13:57:07Z

I'm a music guy, and I still learned stuff! Super cute and fun. I can definitely imagine the puzzles getting crazy, but I think you stuck to the fundamentals and that was the right move. Really nice!

Holy Light by Tvorojok 2026-04-28T14:59:23Z

Visually stunning and really effective soundscape.

In general I appreciate minimal tutorialization, but I feel often in jam games it's better to get the player onboarded as quickly as possible. I played a couple of battles but never felt like I really got a good understanding of timings or strategy.

Regardless, it's still a stunning entry. Well done!

Holy Light by Tvorojok 2026-04-28T16:39:45Z

@tvorojok Unfortunately I didn't reach the ending, I lost both battles without ever really understanding how to fight effectively, and the time to go from losing to trying again (walking back to the battlefield) was a little too punishing for me to want to keep trying.

I apologize for the negativity, though... I did really enjoy what I saw and heard!

Beep Beep Until You're Rich! by dagon 2026-04-28T17:08:50Z

After having played a handful of incrementals lately, I appreciate the restraint of this one! The numbers don't get insane, and you never get so overpowered that the game feels like it starts to play itself.

I did find I was missing one last secret upgrade after buying the entire tree, but that is a very minor complaint. I still had a nice time with this, and the art is lovely too. :) Nice work!

Nest, this is Pilgrim by Nozomu57 2026-04-24T15:40:47Z

Really nice, moody game! All the elements work super well together. I definitely felt more engaged by the sine wave puzzles than the "keep the star in the circle" ones, of which I skipped the second to last as it felt a little too fiddly.

But getting the oscillator dialed into the constellations was a really nice idea, and once more controls were added, it was fun tinkering and felt satisfying to finally connect the dots.

Music is lovely and complemented the melancholy story well. Nice work, everyone!

Telepathy, Rhythms & Fingers by LesDremlet 2026-04-26T17:19:48Z

This was really fun! I admit I had a pretty strong advantage having used sequencers and beat grids for many many years, so I was able to make it to the end without any mistakes. But I could easily see it becoming complicated enough to become really challenging.

I could imagine some sort of hidden element where the chopped off fingers have some sort of effect on the sequences (you can imagine the fingers themselves as "on" or "off" on a sequencer) but I don't have an immediate ideas on how that might work. But it would add a tactical element to the choice of which finger, beyond just the gruesomeness.

Nice and unique puzzle style, and refreshing to play a rhythm game that didn't require timed inputs. Well done!

Reflectogram by Mikan 2026-04-26T16:37:34Z

I'm not sure why, but for some reason I assumed you couldn't fill in a square that the mirror was currently in. Once that clicked, I was able to start figuring it out :)

I love nonograms, so I was excited to see this game pop up on itch. I do agree with some other feedback that a small amount of tutorialization about the mirror would be helpful since it is a completely new wrinkle in a very established puzzle style.

But otherwise, lovely and a lot of fun. Nice work!
