This game at it's current state is a pretty solid base! I'd love to see this concept more developed. The idea of having a more powerful attack at the cost of your health is pretty interesting. The visuals was the best part for me, I really like the Game Boy aesthetic :D

Character design was great! Controls felt pretty tight overall.

A couple of things I'd have liked to be different:

- watching the intro cutscene every time you die and want to start again sapped my motivation a bit - monsters stay inside of your hit box if you don't quickly move away from them. It'd be nice if they bounced off of you after dealing damage and then came back to attack again.

Congrats on joining the jam and finishing a game! Always an accomplishment, nice work!

what a gem you've made. the vibe is real, the gameplay is tight, the sound design is on point. and an art style that screams spooky gameboy undertale. you've made a really great game, nice work!

This is a neat little game with a Gameboy aesthetic, and I do like the background music. A few things I would like to add to make this game a little bit better would be: - the attack animation/mechanic being a little more faster so that the delay doesn't seem off - adding a monster's collision box so that it isn't stuck inside the player after being hit by them And congrats on your first jam too!

The graphics are great, i loved the art. Some things i would improve: - I felt the controls were weird, maybe expecting to attack while jumping and move a little faster, also im not sure about jumping with space, maybe arrow up and changing summon ability with z, dont know - Some sfx were missing also, on damage and receive damage at least, the music is great though - As others mentioned, some enemy stuck inside my hitbox also and thats annoying - On restart dont execute all introduction, i want to restart as quick as possible - Maybe (this is really personal but anyway), give two more hearts for really bad players like me who tried a few times and died and miss the opportunity to see the game end, its a game jam after all and you want people to be able to finish the game beyond their frustration

I really enjoyed the graphics and the mood of the game. I think it deserve better controls. Rn the character's movement feel really stiff, and jumping does not work all the time. Also, woul be cool to have a reminder in game when your summon is ready. I discovered it by pressing "S" by accident. Cool game overall, good job!

just in case you don't know, your game is in the LD danger zone, if it doesn't get 20 ratings within the next 2 days it won't qualify for ratings. the reason it hasn't had enough ratings is because you haven't rated anyone else's games, if you scroll to the top you can see you've given 0 ratings. the coolness system means that the more ratings you give, the more you receive. everyone is supposed to play and rate at least 20 games, so that everyone else can get rated

Nice game, very polished both in art and music depeartment that goes well together vibe wise. I'm a bit messy with keyboard controls as I don't use often, so I struggled a bit, but what I saw was fun. Would be cool to see where this will go if it continues to be developed outside jam. Good job! C:

A simple but fun platformer! I really liked the opening cutscene (although I wish it didn't replay every time you respawn) and the animations were great, especially the bats waking up. I didn't really use the avatar because it wasn't worth the guaranteed damage, but if there were stronger or larger swarms of enemies it might become more useful.
