Absolutely awesome game! Spot on with the theme, cute graphics, good vibes, excellent idea. I learned a lot and it was great fun. I will never look at a sound wave the same :-)

ludum dare winner hands down

omg this is so fun! I love this worm guy! His celebrations after every level are hilarious. Very clever progressing w all the synth components. Perfect level of challenging.

And we have a winner!

Loved this so much. I wasn't expect to learn so much about sound waves and have fun doing it. Well done!

I'm not a beginner in sound, but still it was useful and interesting. Everything here is on the top level. Actually found you on the New Grounds.

thank you, Mr Sinemon, now I can finally compose Megalovania xD

if you plan to expand on this, a sandbox mode would be great!

This was simply amazing concept, i liked it very much, finished the whole game as it was fun and very educational

This is the coolest and most polished game i've seen this entire jam, wow. Really great job guys!

co5monaut 2026-04-26 16:17

Oh, this is probably the best one Iโ€™ve played so far, really cool. Iโ€™m a total noob when it comes to music, and this reminded me of tutorials from when I tried to figure it out, but this was way more fun. The worm is absolutely awesome, and its voice acting is great โ€” thanks for the game!

Super cute and innovative way to teach music and sound! Amazing execution

lenny-rudeberg 2026-05-07 03:59

Not gonna lie the tremolo and vibrato animations were a bit sus ๐Ÿ˜‚. I honestly could have kept playing this game for a while if there were more levels. You've made such a fun and unique game here, it's a great way to teach people how synth waveforms work and gives them a basic understanding of digital music processing as well. Thank you for making this game. GG!

jpat 2026-05-07 04:20

This is really cute! And so polished! WOW :3

ethan-allwood 2026-05-07 04:45

Never thought a wiggling worm would teach me audio concepts. I absolutely loved the worms noises and the way it animated when I would complete a section. Great game, and a really great educational tool!

artur-hawkwing 2026-05-07 05:04

One of the best LD games I have played, hands down. Please do a Steam release of this -- I'd buy it.

drainkid 2026-05-07 05:33

Really really cute game, though I will say immediately reaching for my MIDI keyboard might have been a bit presumptious of me for a jam lol. Great job!!!

ii-p 2026-05-07 06:07

~~Would you still love music if it was a worm?~~

hacksawunit 2026-05-07 06:27

Wonderful little game that does a really great job at teaching a real world concept without feeling like having to do homework. I mostly already knew about the concepts in the game, but I never quite realized what bitcrushing was doing behind the scenes! I'm really glad to know that, now.

Besides the magic of learning, the graphics and interface were excellent and felt very responsive. The "worm as signal display" is very charming and there's lots of little subtle and helpful guides (like the graph lines that appear on some adjustments) which make "tuning" the worm a lot easier.

I also liked that you gave the worm some personality. Having it feel more like a friend was telling me this stuff instead of just coldly trying to match the pattern went a long way! Thank you to the worm. :)

This is a great little game as it is, but I could easily see a full-scale game teaching more concepts with this concept if you wanted! Worms teaching about delay, reverb, chord basics... maybe even visual stuff like RGB color codes, noise generation, pallets? At any rate, great work!

One of my favourites from the jam - this is so delightful! As an audio nerd myself I loved getting to play with all these effects, and it's cool to engage with audio more visually compared to how many musicians & sound designers do. It's even more fun when that visual is a cute little worm :)

I liked the gameplay a lot! The game manages to be a fun teaching tool about waveforms while also making puzzles out of it. Some of the puzzles could be a little more trial-and-error than real challenges (slide vibrato until it matches, slide distortion until it matches, etc.) but given the educational goal of the game I don't think that's a huge issue. I kind of wanted a final level that included all of the effects, although maybe that would be visually confusing. I bet you could do cool things with other ways of processing audio, too, if you ever wanted to expand this - maybe you'd start working with multiple worms and start dealing with phase and stuff? Not sure. But the game does work well in its current form!

The gameplay was also helped a lot by the sound design, which is just great. The waveform manipulation sounds excellent obviously, but even little things like the buttons and... worm noises?... made everything a lot of fun to interact with. There's very good auditory feedback for everything the player does, which is crucial for any game but especially one about audio like this!

Awesome work! I had a great time with this one.

weeooweeooweeooweeoo. Awesome job! It was hard to match the very high frequency tremolo & vibrato but I did it!! :musical_note:

2026-05-07 11:34

It's an interesting concept, but for me, I think the difficulty level of the puzzles is a bit too high. In summary, completing it within such a short period of time is a really great game.

Definitely one of the best interpretations of the theme.

2026-05-07 13:57

I'm a music guy, and I still learned stuff! Super cute and fun. I can definitely imagine the puzzles getting crazy, but I think you stuck to the fundamentals and that was the right move. Really nice!

You got the cute and instructive thing down to the dot!!! I had loads of fun playing this, in fact I played it again ๐Ÿ˜„ The little wiggle animation is ridiculously charming. Also really loved the transitions showcasing the effects, super inspiring presentation. Curious what sparked that idea.

I kept wishing there was a way to preview/hear the target wave more directly while tuning toward it. Gliding into the right frequency already feels satisfying, especially with how the visuals react when hovering over the keys. Lovely execution there.

Had fun messing around with the controls to make weird shapes and sounds:

Would honestly love a sandbox mode too. Just vibing with the worm, chaining together a whole pile of effect pedals and making chaotic signal creatures out of it. Almost like a Balatro of audio effects ๐Ÿ˜„

This has to be one of the most entertaining Ludum Dare entries I've ever played. It's incredibly fun *and* incredibly informative all at the same time. The difficulty feels perfect, and it's just oozing with charm and personality. I hope and expect to see this right up at the top of the rankings.
