The link required a password. Can't access your Itchio page :(

rosypenguin 2023-01-09 17:46

@iluvatar Sorry, the game is still not done! We're cramming down to the wire, but we'll make it available as soon as it's complete! :)

littlemaow 2023-01-09 20:53

This is not the first thing in my mind when I want to "harvest" somtehing, but that's why I like it! The art is cute, the music is so chill, like an irl fishing =^.^=

memo2 2023-01-09 20:56

A personal favorite so far! This is pretty cute and the gameplay is catchy!

ectucker1 2023-01-09 21:03

I love the music in this! It feels so peaceful and ocean-y. I do wish there was a map pointing me back to the towns; I tended to get lost when I was out fishing and floundered when I was looking for an upgrade.

rosypenguin 2023-01-09 21:38

@ectucker1 the map is unlocked after the first upgrade, which is when you've caught 10 of the small tuna. Did you feel that it took too long to get to 10?

danmerey 2023-01-09 21:41

**Intro:**

Very nice! I came here because I saw you post with a map https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/it-was-all-for-the-tuna/get-ready-to-explore-the-archipelago-of-nekotuna (even though I didn't find this map in the game), and it looked so close to my game for The Compo https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/catchy, so I just had to check it out :) Our games have a lot in common (I even have Giant Goldfish in the game as well, lol).

**Feedback on the game "It was all for the Tuna":**

- Feels and plays nice. Fun for 5-10 minutes. Couble be even more if a bug with texts didn't happen and if I knew how to buy upgrades (skipped it in the tutorial for some reason). - Fishing mechanics are pretty good, even though I didn't understand it completely (probably need more time to know for sure) - Tbh I think it would be better to separate controls of the boat and fishing (now everything is on Left Mouse Button which is good for mobile, but not so good for PC). - Game has a good enough tutorial. Last tutorial bubbles could stay for a little bit longer, so people don't skip info about the Town and Upgrades (clicking on town is not very intuitive, since you need to be really close to it). - There are different Tunas in the sea (I found at least 4 types: small, medium, big and giant gold one), which is nice. - Boat movement is a little bit jerky, but it's not a big deal. - Ambient sound is pretty annoying, so I played with no sound. - Game lacks map, since it's hard to navigate without it (maybe I didn't find the map in the interface?) - There's a bug: all texts can dissapear after some time, so it's impossible to understand how much Tuna you have and no texts on the GUI / Main Menu / Buttons. - Graphics are pretty good.

Overall really good game, especially considering it's a jam game. Could be a nice game post-jam, so don't stop working on it, good luck!

rosypenguin 2023-01-09 21:45

btw here's a map if anyone is having trouble!

NekoTuna_Map.png

danmerey 2023-01-09 21:47

@rosypenguin I'd suggest you to add this map on the game description (also some screenshots / GIFs would be nice)

moffkalast 2023-01-09 21:48

That's a fantastic seafoam shader and a very cute artstyle overall :D

I think I found two bugs, the tutorial text boxes were empty for the most part, and the camera lerp seems to be a bit mismatched in movement speed, so you get boat jitter when moving.

kenneth-dd 2023-01-09 21:48

there's a bug that i can't see text at all. but i get to figure out how to fish in this game because it's intuitive enought. and the game feels very comfy!

tengovod 2023-01-09 21:51

It's very funny game! I like NekoTuna!

rosypenguin 2023-01-09 21:52

@moffkalast @kenneth-dd There's currently a bug where sometimes the text disappears on fullscreen, we'll investigate!

salmonmoose 2023-01-09 21:58

This is perhaps my favorite fishing mechanic in a game.

@ectucker1 - there is once you upgrade your boat :)

korvack 2023-01-09 22:08

I was progressing in the game and said to myself: Am I not doing a genocide of Tuna? But the game was too enjoyable for me to stop... until that tragic end! ^^ Very good work, it is beautiful, relaxing, innovative and related to the theme. Well done!

matthew-lie 2023-01-09 22:21

F Pressers pay you respect

nataku92 2023-01-10 01:18

I really love the charming art, music, and super fun fishing mechanic! The boat upgrade progression felt good and kept me playing (cute twist at the end!). Always inspiring how polished and fun your team's games are!

recursor 2023-01-10 02:02

Very relaxing, and the cat is so cute!

archfan7411 2023-01-10 02:26

This might be the best jam game I've ever seen, and that says a lot. I saw the ending coming but had to see it for myself anyway, lol

sephowepho 2023-01-10 03:38

You all made my favorite game of last jam, and it seems you're following through with that again ()! I love the adaptive music, I love fishing, I love the water shader, I love the nekos!!! Something about the way the game looks and sounds reminds me of "Kiki's Delivery Service" (which was mostly because of the kitty), absolutely beautiful, I loved it. Y'all are *way* ahead of me in this, so I can't give any real feedback, but I'm looking forward to playing more games from each of you.

It was all for the tuna feedback.png

jeremy-scott-olsen 2023-01-10 03:53

Wow. I don't expect to find a better game than this, at least be several metrics. I love the mechanic. I thought the fish AI, the look and feel of the boating and the sea, and the general feel of fishing were suuuuuuper. A+ for a game jam game, wow. I wish I could have scored this game and done sound design for it, some really great opportunities for artful, detailed, patent, understated music and sound. What's there is so mega basic, and not nearly as subtle as the game deserves, in my opinion. The very short loops wear on you. Also... I boated around forever, caught lots of tuna, but never saw a town. I feel like maybe there ought to be one or two more. Eventually I realized that the place I was starting from was a town, and I tried to keep track of where it was so I could come back to it. Overall *excellent*. Bought it on Itch and followed you! Can't wait to show this one to my daughters. Keep up the good work, and thank you!

pankeiki 2023-01-10 04:40

Very cute and calming game! Got me hooked, just like those tunas while i played it

morgie 2023-01-10 05:20

This is super gorgeous and soo polished for a game jam game :0 Everything about this game is fantastic!! The graphics are gorgeous and the music is so relaxing. (The SFX of the trees is a little rough, but it was easy to turn down.) Even the controls were unique and very intuitive! (BTW it would be so cool to hear about the process for this game if the team decides to make a post!)

diego-teran 2023-01-10 05:34

Cute game, didn't expect the ending.

jamdong15 2023-01-10 06:01

Love the graphics and the mechanic! That being said, I didn't get the map upgrade after I hit 10 small fish. Unfortunately, without a map, the game quickly loses its fun as I have no idea where I'm going. I also did find an island at some point and tried to approach it by targeting it but nothing happened so I'm not sure if that may have been a bug. Otherwise, this was such a great entry, and I think with some small bug fixes / improvements, it could be an amazing game.

zwodahs 2023-01-10 07:45

Screenshot 2023-01-10 at 3.42.45 PM.png

This might be the most interesting fishing mechanic I have played in a while :)

I love the graphics and music, and the mood that they set, it is really relaxing. The game quickly went from "huh this is fun" to "I am going to deplete the ocean of fishes." I quickly realised that they respawn, so I gave up on that goal.

The message at the end is a surprise :D.

Thanks for the game !!!

kromeboy 2023-01-10 08:50

Great game! The fishing mechanic is a little hard to master at first, but it become natural. The one button controls work great.

I had some trouble finding the city with the first boat: maybe the minimap could be active from the start without the radar.

roadwarden 2023-01-10 11:01

Awww, this game so cute. Love it. I like relaxing gameplay and main theme, and of course the message. Cheers!

afrasiab352 2023-01-10 12:58

This could be one of the best and the simplest fishing mechanics I've ever seen. Amazing.

stefan-laimer 2023-01-10 14:16

AMAZING GAME! I love fishing minigames in all games and you made a great one. Also a really nice touch to add a timer! Awesome job!

Screenshot 2023-01-10 151641.png

cycriel 2023-01-10 16:09

Cool tuna genocide simulator! I loved the world and chill music.

lex 2023-01-10 17:09

I caught the golden tuna with the first boat and just then I realized I could upgrade the boat, haha. The fun continued though, very good. Really loved this game!

kostas-nik 2023-01-10 18:48

Very nice chill music and i liked the feeling of being in the sea and roaming around in a little boat. I always thought of that as a concept and would it like to try it some day as a game idea. I struggled to find a town. Maybe an in game map would help. Great effort.

yorsh 2023-01-10 21:55

The water shader is really cool ! Very relaxing experience and the fishing mechanics is interesting. Not a fan of the sound effect of waves, feels like it have too much high frequencies or something. Overall very good game !

cornflowerblue 2023-01-10 22:01

Great mood and visuals! I like how subtle things change with every upgrade as well. I like how you have a map on the itch page which makes exploring challenging yet fun before the radar.

sheng-mai 2023-01-11 07:47

Since cats have to eat fish, fishing is also a life skill that must be learned ---- from me emmmmmmm.

A relatively rare 3D gem of a game, I don't like or hate fishing in life, but if a game has a fishing system in it, I'd love it. Because the bait is quick.

In the limited time of 72 hours, the game actually designed a large and complete map, which really makes me admire the authors for their efficiency, although the map details are in the introduction.

I thought that each building had a different effect, but it turns out that they are all part of the same upgrade point. I'm sure the authors will design different building effects in the future to give more purpose to the sea.

The boat initially moves and you can see a bit of jitter, with the upgrade, the boat moves faster and the jitter is more obvious, most likely due to the frequency of the camera and boat updates, and also the biggest fish is stuck and not moving, not sure if it's by design or a bug, but the flaw doesn't cover up the good, chasing fish and fishing in the sea, the harvest is not only the fish fillet, but also the incomparable relaxation.

I'm looking forward to more fish species, more different drops, more upgrade options, and more cool ways to fish in the sea. Keep up the good work, mwah.

senso 2023-01-11 09:26

Nice and relaxing game at first. then i found out the upgrade system and it went from relaxing game to hunting the big fish. Would be nice to have a map from the start though almoust quit this game to early. luckly i didn't. Music and ocean nice combo loved the ambiance . The watereffect of the boat is so gooood. Good game finished it with 5 tuna :map: still 5/5

lawrence 2023-01-11 15:17

Oh wow, this is such an amazing game. Very chill, yet challenging as the fishing mechanic is quite sophisticated. Good job!

meyoji 2023-01-11 16:04

A game with a message. Nice work! Start with lets fish some tunas to ruin your ecosystem. Tht's escalated quickly!

flyingmobula 2023-01-11 16:13

Very cute little game! Great fishing mechanic, the art and sound are very nice.

A few things I can comment: - I noticed a little exploit - if the fish is between the boat and a rock you can catch it instantly. And fish seem to get stuck in rocks often. I ended up catching a gold tuna in the very beginning.

- It would be nice to have the map with the towns marked from the beginning so you know where to go. Tuna radar can be added as the first upgrade and still be a good upgrade.

- I would've loved to have some story, since now it doesn't really matter which city you go to. And the end game screen is pretty but kind of depressing. Aww.

Hope that wasn't too much negative feedback. I really liked the game, great job!

reikan 2023-01-11 16:51

Very very cute and the fishing mechanics is one of the most efficient i've ever played. One of my favorite game so far.

square-wave 2023-01-11 17:06

Wonderful fishing mechanic, lovely calming Miyazaki-esque feel, tragic ending. A+

Also just being able to play *anything* as a cat in a boat is all I could hope for.

omphh 2023-01-11 17:19

Love the art style! Super cute and chill, great entry!!! :)

meep 2023-01-12 02:32

The art and music were gorgeous :D If there was to be any post-jam stuff it'd be awesome to see a bit more with the fishing, like the different species require different mouse patterns/mini-games to keep on the line. As soon as the rod started upgrading, there wasn't as much fishing gameplay to do anymore as most things reeled in much quicker (but was reasonably paced for the length of the game). Regardless, really great work :D Glad to see more fish-themed harvesting as well!

yubs 2023-01-12 05:12

Really like how the fishing mechanic was really simple, but still interesting! Made the gameplay loop of hunting down a fish and catching it very rewarding. Will say the sfx of like the water or the wind sorta was grating to me, but the music was really really good! Super fun game!

jumpirate 2023-01-12 06:20

A very cute game. The game mechanism is simple. The graphics and music are very healing. I hope you guys could add more content to enrich the gameplay in the future.

coke 2023-01-12 07:17

Spend me 20min to play, very cute game, the music and cute cat really warm my heart, feeling relax play this game, when I finnaly update my boat, all tuna has vanished from the ocean. This makes me feels a little sad, just like our humans, should use the earth's resource in a proper way. We live in this planet, but we use them too much to improve our development. That game means a lot, thanks for bring it to us. By the way, the ocean shader seems pretty good^^

chelc 2023-01-12 07:24

The polish on this is amazing! The models are soo cute and charming and I love the kitty cat. The shaders are beautiful. The gameplay is very smooth. And I felt very mean hunting around for fish trying to meet my quota -- hey little guy, you're going down too! I wish that the fish stayed in the air for a second longer so I could enjoy the fish, at least for the bigger guys! I really snuck up on some of the legendary fish so it felt a little unfair, but I guess that's the point, hehe.

Great job!

huozhedexiaoc 2023-01-12 09:27

I played this game for about 10 minutes, and the simple graphics and soft music, as well as the sound of the waves, kept me relaxed. Sometimes I feel like I'm the kitten. I love this game. I hope there is more content in this game if possible

ferelily 2023-01-12 16:06

This is absolutely beautiful! Controls are very responsive and intuitive. Graphics are polished and cute! The music is impeccable too! My only suggestion would be to lower the volume a bit on the waves. They protrude a bit too much in front of all the other audio, especially since it seems like the wave volume is paired with the music slider, rather than sfx. Maybe have separate sliders for ambient sfx and active sfx?

mitus 2023-01-12 16:56

NOOOOOOOOO! I swear that still some more tuna out there. Super chill, nice chase, and catch. I love nearly everything in your entry.

This game is just amazing, please notify me if you guys got any upgrades on this, please.

tomssuli 2023-01-12 19:02

I had a nice relaxing fishing trip.

Graphics were nice. There was some staggering when moving with the faster boats, but otherwise game ran nice and smoothly.

I liked the fishing mechanics and the feeling of getting stronger and stronger in fishing. Also it was nice to see a huge fish in front of a dock in the beginning, knowing you can't anyhow catch it without some upgrade.

Overall a good simple game with cute character and also a message. I fished tunas to extinction in about 20 minutes.

tunas.png

thyoi 2023-01-12 21:23

wonderful game. It's impressive that you guys did such a great job making 3d games this time

vphyre 2023-01-13 03:56

Very relaxing game, very beautiful, and with a very good gameplay. Everything seems to work just fine. I had a little trouble catching the first fish, but once I got it, everything felt more natural. Good work.

brandann 2023-01-13 05:37

to say this was cute is an understatement. I look forward to plaything this again.

blublu 2023-01-13 21:25

Sooooo cute. One of my favorite games for now. The art is fantastic, the music is perfect, the gameplay is simple yet really fun. Great job ! I think I could fish tuna for hours...

spyranteros 2023-01-13 21:28

Absolutely brilliant! I was playing for quiet a long time, wanted to see more and more! The gameplay is awesome, the art breath taking. I also loved the fonts you used! Very well polished game, with a message!

keithswanger 2023-01-14 02:48

Extremely intuitive controls. Very well done, the upgrades felt significant and I felt unstoppable by the end. The legendary fish were a nice challenge. The first time I played, I sailed off in a random direction, and I found myself chasing after an enormous fish. When I couldn't catch it, I knew something had to be wrong. Once I restarted and got the first upgrade, I finally got into the flow of the game and really enjoyed myself. Really nice experience, nice job to everyone involved!

kikiriki367 2023-01-14 04:56

The Swedish Chef is eating big tonight!!! I mean, ahsrj htasng ahrh asikg aheht!

qooorti 2023-01-14 09:28

This is very comfy and atmospheric on the surface. Also a very nice original but simple fishing mechanic.

For some reason I find the music a bit sad and depressing though.. but maybe that's purposeful? Also love the map you made. Looks professional and adds to the world building.

phillip-scott 2023-01-14 13:06

Love the vibe of this - almost quit due to not understanding that you could upgrade, glad I read some of the comments here to know that I could.

Art, shaders, music and the actual catching were all fantastic!

The map was also a really nice touch

Really enjoyed this well done. image_2023-01-14_130604080.png

renrok 2023-01-14 18:40

Cute game! Loved how you approached controls - intuitive to use and feel smooth. Art is adorable. Ending took me by surprise

almax 2023-01-14 23:29

Loved this entry. The visuals were great and the audio fit well. Not too difficult, and very zen. The addition of the gold tuna helped to reward exploration... and the ending was surprisingly dark/topical. Great work!

forik 2023-01-15 02:13

Cute kitty and atmosphere in game,

Especially I liked mechanic of fishing!

Thanks for game =)

chybby 2023-01-15 09:20

Beautiful ocean and islands.

I like that the upgrades were visual as well as functional.

Also liked the simple control scheme - let me sit back and enjoy.

ginxel 2023-01-15 17:46

the water looks absolutely incredible! Super impressive :o

niterich 2023-01-15 21:44

Whenever I play one of these arty "games with a message" experiences, it's hard for me to tell what was intentionally painful to drive the point home and what was unintentionally painful due to it being made in 72 hours. I love the visuals, the core gameplay was simple yet responsive, the adaptive music lent to a nice sense of progression... but something about this game didn't click with me. I struggled to find a town for my first upgrade because I didn't have a map. The chiptune instruments were incredibly loud and grating, drowning out the piano and ruining the otherwise calm atmosphere (again, artistic pain or wrong soundfont?). And the upgrades were just a bit too far apart for my liking. I gave up after about 16 minutes because finding 300 fish sounded just a bit too dauntingly tedious for me to continue.

Have you played a game called Trash the Planet? I feel like it has a similar vibe to this game.

nullval 2023-01-15 21:55

Cutest game I've played at LDJAM52. Absolutely amazing presentation, stellar work! 10/10

jonqs 2023-01-15 22:05

Everything is nice in this game, from the visual to the story. Very impressive for a jam. Congrats !

pazzi 2023-01-15 22:08

The music at the end had me regretting pressing the button Q-Q

Beautiful game, in every way...just wow. <3fishie on me2.PNG

david-mason 2023-01-15 22:41

nice relaxing little game

keip 2023-01-16 02:42

nice little game. didnt except the end. Nice Music, but after a while its to repititive. Good work. thanks

deathbysnail 2023-01-16 13:30

Wonderful, looks and plays really well, and sounds great. I could play this for hours!

jfeeefl 2023-01-16 13:46

Nice game! Amazing athetics and atmosphere. The ending is predictable but still a little unexpected though.

It is when I push a big fish to the corner of the map and harvest it with my poorest ship, that I felt the happiest moment. However, when I was simply search for tuna for upgrading, it's a little boring. There're so many islands, if there were any different functionalities it would drive player more for exploration. Anyhow, for a jam work, it is already good enough and I really enjoyed it!

amarokczukay 2023-01-16 16:04

amazing art and especially animations: everything was so fluid, i loved the waves, the movements of fishes… i mean a gigantic amount of work has been put into this game!!

the gameplay in itself is kinda repetitive, but the rod mechanic is great and unique to me!

I see in comments what the end is, and i'm really happy i purposely didn't kill all the tuna!

asfdfdfd 2023-01-16 17:13

Great atmosphere, graphics and overall integrity of all elements of the game. Nice work!

pkenney 2023-01-16 17:51

Almost! I had the goldfin tuna boxed into the corner of the map and thought I would be able to reel it in, but even with some extra chances b/c it couldn't flee, I didn't quite get there.

Super-charming game with a great vibe, and the core fishing mechanic was well-done, adding a touch of mechanical difficulty and execution without overwhelming the chill vibe. Water was really nicely done and sold me on being in a boat, maybe a small touch of drift when the boat came to a halt would have sold it even harder.

Nice entry.

woergbi 2023-01-16 19:00

What a great entry! I love the atmosphere! Actually, I suggested to my team that we should create a fishing game, but we went with another idea in the end, so I am really glad my prayers were heard and somebody else made a comfy fishing game. I could probably pour hours into this game - Nice work.

daveco 2023-01-17 00:34

Time just kept slipping away as I played this game :D. Gorgeous graphics and really polished gameplay. I think these are some of the best fishing mechanics in any game I've played. Also like the Animal Crossing voice acting :P

automatonvx 2023-01-17 01:16

Cute concept and really quite beautiful visuals. The core gameplay works pretty well, and the incentive to keep fishing to upgrade kept me going to the till i got the best boat to see what it was. The audio loop was nice and fit the atmosphere well, could have done with a bit more variation though as looping for the 15 mins of my playthrough was getting a bit repetitive. After I upgraded to the third boat it seemed like there was an extra layer in the music but it was way too loud. Other than that, I would have preferred to use keyboard or something for movement and mouse for rod perhaps would have been more comfortable and the player boat movement was kind of stuttery, looks like one of those Update vs Fixed Update issues. Just Minor things though. Anyway overall excellent job nicely done, felt very polished especially visually.

chase-of-bass 2023-01-17 01:35

The art direction in this was fantastic -really liked the look of the cat in the boat too! The illustrations were excellent. The music went really well with it too! Really nice vibe to this game

Was really fun too! The play mechanics worked really well -fishing with the mouse felt pretty natural after a few tries!

Amazing work all around! :D

rosypenguin 2023-01-17 06:13

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for playing and rating our entry, we really really appreciate all of your kind words and critique! We're continuing to work on the post-jam version, so keep your ideas coming :)

In the meantime, if you'd like to read up on our development process, we have a couple write ups here: * [Post-Mortem Part 1: Programming](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/it-was-all-for-the-tuna/it-was-all-for-the-tuna-post-mortem)

@thyoi I absolutely love the fanart you did of Toro the cat! Thank you so much for drawing them; I hope you don't mind if I print it out and hang it up on my wall? :heart_eyes_cat:

matank 2023-01-17 09:04

Wow this is really awesome!!

What I liked: * The art was INCREDIBLE. I really loved the water effects and the way the ship looked zooming down the ocean. * Gameplay - one of the better feeling fishing mechanic I've played in a game. Gameplay was really addicting and fun. It took me around 20 minutes to finish (partly because I misremembered that the last update costs 500 tunas - I could've stopped much earlier if I remembered it was 300 ) but I enjoyed every minute of it. * Music was relaxing and really enhanced the experienced.

Super minor issue I had: * I feel like after the last ship upgrade, you could've made life a bit easier for me by coloring the bigger tuna differently so I won't waste my time hunting down the tiny tuna fish

captandrey 2023-01-17 11:35

➕interesting fishing mechanics

➕great sounds, music and graphics

➕good "level" duration

➖a bit boring at the end

tenlki 2023-01-17 23:21

[Post-Mortem Part 3: Audio](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/it-was-all-for-the-tuna/it-was-all-for-the-tuna-post-mortem-3-audio) has been posted! Some of you have correctly identify some features (adaptive music layers when upgrading), bugs (overly loud audio), and other issues with the audio that I do go over in the post-mortem

Also if anyone's interested in hearing the intended music balance or downloading the song, it's on [SoundCloud](https://soundcloud.com/tenlki/it-was-all-for-the-tuna) for free.

Your game is oozing "A short hike" vibes - which is great! Lovely work on the music, graphics, mechanics, and design. Everything feels round and polished, being a great accomplishment in a 20 minute game. Great job!

Really top notch art direction! Everything just felt really consistent and cozy. The reeling mechanic might be the best I've seen in a game but it was only used to its full extent in the early game. Big fishes were unintuitively the easiest because you can get right up next to them and catch them instantly. I would have liked to see the upgrades compliment the reeling system rather than giving speed boosts which lets you cheese around it. Besides that , the gameplay really had me hooked (pun intended) until getting to the end.

Cool game and you be a cat so yay. I fished ALL of them! not sure if the way I was supposed to catch the gold tuna was scaring them into a corner but that is what I did. Had fun.

All in all, Cool graphics I like that the cat sits on top of the boat. Keep up the good work Yip yap.

great artwork and mood, works really well!

Cute game with a message! As I was playing the game I thought "imagine if this spoke about overfishing?" little did I know! That was a sad end u_u

The golden tunas all got themselves stuck against islands so it was an easy catch, and if you're close enough to a fish (and they don't really seem to get scared), then you're just left raking in the points.

My two biggest points would be: - boat movement. The boat was shaking as it "moved" but it felt like a jittering, like when you get stuck against a wall or something. It didn't feel like a boat movement, but more like... the boat is vibrating unnaturally as you float through the ocean.

- Music. This one is possibly just a me problem. I have Tinnitus, and the main melody was soooo grating after a bit (and I turned the music down) that eventually just turned the music off. The pitch it was on was just so incredibly grating, someone singing a high-pitched "weeeeee-e------weeeeee" in my ear. It very added to the noise I was "hearing" with Tinnitus and it was unpleasant. Perhaps if the sound wasn't so "sharp" sounding? Not sure how to word it, as I'm not really a musician.

Anyway, again, that might just be a "me" problem, being that I suffer from Tinnitus.

Stellar entry! How could I not play all the way to the end?

Oh. Oh God.

angela-he 2023-01-19 22:35

really cute game and a solid sense of progression, didn't feel too slow or fast

instructions very clear

love absolutely murdering these fish colonies haha jk.... T_T

and how did you accomplish that beautiful water???

some feedback: - loved the classical music but it did begin to sound repetitive, especially as a backdrop to a somewhat repetitive mechanic - on the faster boat upgrades, movement seemed laggy (boat moved behind frames, as if using Update instead of FixedUpdate or something)

love what you guys do as always!

Always enjoy the games your team makes :)

This one is super cute, and the controls are super intuitive and feel great! I appreciated that the godfin tuna took a little more strategy to reel in even with a maxed out boat. In a longer form game, it'd be great to see more planning and challenge built into the fishing like that.

The art direction is spot on, and the music is lovely! I loved the subtle adaptiveness of it. I just wish the loop were a bit longer. I think a "B" section would go a long way towards keeping it interesting and easy to listen to for a long play session.

Overall another really solid entry from you guys. I'm looking forward to more in the future. Well done!

Great fishing game! One of the best fishing mechanics I've seen, to be honest. It felt satisfying yet challenging. I got a little lost for a bit and had to refer to the map to find the nearest town - it would have been great if the map were built into the game! Some sound effects could have really made the fishing experience pop, but everything else was really well done so that's just me being picky. Great job!

Super cute entry and very elegant controls! I really like the innovation on the fishing mechanic, away from the thing we all have sen 100 times. It took me quite long to figure out that the angle means left/right of the boat, and not near/far behind, so i had a bit of frustration where i couldn't understand why the fish was escaping. It was a good sign that my catch rate went up over time, feeling that i did not fully think through the catching, but feel what's right - so that felt way less mechanical but more real, like you'd actually feel when fishing. That's a feat in itself. Of cours graphics and audio are top notch, very pleasant. Great job with the game :)

A very innovative take on fishing mechanics. Haven't seen it before and I like it!

The visuals are well made, gives a dynamic feel to it.

I wish there was a radar at the start, because it was hard for me to find my first town. And the fish-detection range update to the scanner felt unnecessary, because at that point it was basically showing all the fish on the map, and I couldn't efficiently navigate to the nearest shoal

Well, I came back to play again. Good game

artofluba 2023-01-22 23:28

Holy moly. This game is tops, for sure. I gave full ratings. Please check ours out if you get a chance! I can't believe you guys finished this level of polish in 72 hours. SUPER!

Very sweet and well-done game

dock-frankenstein 2023-01-24 15:02

This is probably the best game I've played this jam. I would love to see this be turned into a full release, maybe even an android port. Although I didn't really like that you had to drag your mouse so far off the screen to increase speed and fishing force

richard-jedlicka 2023-01-24 21:37

It is cute relaxing game. Interesting gameplay idea. Beautiful graphics, nice audio. I like it. It was quite fun.

jvdwijk 2023-01-25 00:51

This was a really cute and very polished game, it felt very chill to play and I loved the style of it. I would definitely play this as a full release with a bit more features! (maybe some goals for each island?)

The start felt a bit slow however, as it was a bit difficult at times to find fish. I also encountered a bug where the intro text would be empty, and it made me figure everything out on my own (after refreshing and trying again it worked)

cat-lab 2023-01-25 23:48

Absolutely adore this game, it's so well-done. I can't believe it was a 72-hour project! Great take on the 'harvest' theme. The art and visuals are wonderful. The music and sound were nice but could get a bit repetitive after a while, and the boat movements seem to get choppier the more you upgrade. But wow, truly an incredible entry!

daivyishere 2023-01-26 08:43

Game looks so amazing. Love the graphic and the mechanics. The boat movement looks a bit jittering, don't know if it's my issue or not. I wish there are more mechanics about dragging your boat with fish tho. Anyway a very solid entry!

midorimelody 2023-01-26 20:03

This game was really fun. I usually just accept fishing mini games but now you've set the bar pretty high for fishing games. I love how interactive it is. Great game!!!

morricore 2023-01-26 21:15

Amazing visuals. Reminded me Wind Waker, my favorite Zelda in terms of design. Is it infinite collect, or there is final goal somewhere?

triangle-point 2023-01-27 02:05

really liked it great graphics and gameplay good job!

sarah 2023-01-27 05:02

This is absolutely my favoutite game this jam, WELL done! It's soooo cute, it's amazing haha. I love how polished it feels and moving around in the boat is fun. Fishing itself can be a little difficult, I wish I had more energy because I was so bad at it!

But I also love all the different types of tuna, cute details! The hints/tutorial are also really smooth and well done, overall great job!

4ahizon 2023-01-27 13:37

I really enjoyed this game. It has that Windwaker visual style which I loved. The controls was interesting which was easy to understand but hard to master. Might want to have UI hints stating you can upgrade your boat. I played it through to the end which was sad and pushes the effect of over fishing. Great game.

alchemic 2023-01-27 18:27

Amazing game as usual from y'all. Very cute graphics, sailing around is very comfy and fun.
