LD46 — Keep it alive

HEAL ME PLZ by Pietro Ferrantelli 2020-04-25T19:06:16Z

An amazing entry! Looks clean and polished. Visuals are beautiful, I'm in awe of those smooth animations. Music is a bop! And gameplay is super fun - kept me on my toes but was enjoyable. The mechanic with kicking your allies around is very interesting and has a great feel. Also, love that you managed to get in cutscenes and a solid tutorial, and give each teammate and enemy unique attacks and abilities!

Don't know what to say more, it's just a great game

Glory to Tamo by Krassenstein 2020-04-26T15:10:09Z

A nice game! Great work!

I really like the cute art and chill music - together they create a wery warm a peaceful atmosphere.

The gameplay got a little boring pretty quick, but I enjoyed just exploring the location. I think it has a lot of potential! Would enjoy more interaction with the town to get the items for Tamo.

A couple of strange moments I noticed: * some sound effects were panned to just right or left for no reason seemingly (like the pencil strokes when you sign the contract). Don't know if this was intentional. * it was wierd to me to have the cursor out at all times, when you only need it in menus and your inventory. I thought I could interact with things on screen with the mouse, but it turned out not to be the case. * the inventory dropdown menus bug from time to time, flipping upside down or scaling. * having the "quit to menu" option in the inventory is very confusing. I accidentally clicked it a couple times on autopilot to close the inventory X)

Keep 'em Alive: Retro by mobiledev 2020-04-26T16:29:41Z

Beautiful and unique artstyle! But definitely, as someone mentioned, could use some sound.

Gameplay felt a little convoluted. Good thing you wrote detailed instructions, because I wouldn't figure out what I have to do on my own

Also, didn't understand if a hospital and a police station building does anything on its own, other than give you access to doctor and policeman characters. Seems like you have to control your population disease and discipline by hand, and juggling 3 characters at a time is quite difficult. The fact that movement and action use are both controlled by LMB made it even harder. Maybe it would be better to assign movement to arrow keys/WASD?

Other than that, a very interesting game!

Blood Oath by alexhonor 2020-04-24T06:54:57Z

Thank you all for feedback! I'm really happy to hear you enjoy the art!

@misterkeefe yeah, I spent a lot of time on the player character design, so had to rush the environment graphics

Bonfire 🔥 by ColinBellino 2020-04-26T16:43:03Z

A pretty little puzzle game! Was very enjoyable.

I think adding some distinction between the trees player places and ones that were already on the map would be useful. Forgot, where I placed my trees on one level and had to hover over a bunch and look around for the blue square.

afterthought by Rionisse 2020-05-11T13:58:27Z

A bit short, but a nice experience overall.

Didn't read the controls, so got lost in the white at first :D But after I figured them out, understood what I was supposed to do from the get-go.

Solid visual aesthetic, the pixelized textures look great! Music fit well with the visuals, only was a bit loud at times.

Did not encounter any bugs that were mentioned before. Guess you fixed them? Anyway, nice entry!

Kaoamaru Kaiju by SplitPainter 2020-04-26T15:29:25Z

An interesting approach!

The graphics look cool. It is visible that you put a lot of work and passion in them. I really like the colors, especially the contrast between the red of the sky and the blue of the mountain.

The camerawork was dizzying at times. When you don't have to convey extreme action, I feel like it's better to keep the camera speeds slow and stable.

Not a lot of gameplay, but I think it has potential. Could be a cool trippy narrative experience.

Keep it up!

snakebite by mmemim 2020-04-24T11:14:11Z

Nice game! The visuals are absolutely stunning. The player character is really satisfying to look at. Love his animations, I really enjoyed the little follow-through on his dangling legs) The environment is clean and beautiful as well. As somebody mentioned before, it would be even greater if it had more movement and feedback. Could make for a really meditative experience, were you move and look around at all the detail.

The music is also great, the rythm is really distinct and easy to get into. Especially in the part with hi-hats and no drums.

Gameplay feels very satisfying at first, but gets tiring after a while. I started zoning out and making mistakes, because it's hard to keep the same pace for a long time. I think it would be cool to mix the rythm up somehow to keep it interesting.

File Survival by Probe31 2020-05-11T14:45:51Z

This is amazing! A unique approach, and you managed to make it both beautiful and fun. Clean black and white graphics reminded me a lot of an early Macintosh OS, one mini vMac emulates. That keygen music was on point, jumpscared the hell out of me, as it should :D

I'd only suggest you add the controls for screen size to the description! Didn't know there was an option for that until I scrolled through the comments (it's F2-F4 keys, if anybody's wondering)

Focus, kid! by Necromic 2020-04-26T15:44:35Z

Incredible! Absolutely beautiful artstyle, lovely music, unique gameplay! Love that you made different outcomes for different combinations of the ingredients. Kept replaying to see more)

Only thing - I think I've encounter a bug, where the music would layer upon itself if I used ESC to restart midgame.

Space Exodus by Kaish 2020-05-11T13:27:51Z

Simple graphics, simple gameplay, but super clean and effective! Enjoyed playing a lot.

I like that you did different sprites for ships! Kept replaying partly because I was curious which ship I'll get next time :D

HYPERHOP: GALACTIC LANCER by Swanijam 2020-05-11T13:13:45Z

Stunning little game! Gorgeous visuals, lots of color. Love it! Especially the cutscenes for the final blow.

Music loop was nice, it didn't bother me and didn't fell short. Some sound effects felt a little out of place though.

Speaking of gameplay: free roam flying felt nice, but battle segments felt wierd. Rotation of the planets paired with slowed down movement of the character made it to hard and unenjoyable to aim( As some mentioned above, camera was a bit buggy, flying in strange spots sometimes, which was really disorienting. I noticed it would mostly happen when enemies push the character away with their attacks - guess transition between free roam/battle breaks something.

Other than that - great entry!

Someone called for an ambulance? by Bauke Regnerus 2020-04-22T20:55:24Z

This is super cute! The music is FUNKY :saxophone: Driving feels very nice. Sometimes I had a hard time understanding where the arrows were pointing. But enjoyed just going around and exploring.

I'd suggest using a bit brighter and saturated colours> so the graphics look cleaner. But that's details.

TaaTuu!

Shmup with grappling hooks by chuchuw 2020-04-22T21:37:42Z

Cool concept overall, but it felt wierd to me not to be able to aim hooks to the sides and retract them. The art is very clean, though I think it would be better to distinct the player from the enemies more, by using different colours for them, for example

The Birb by Ilimanic 2020-04-26T16:00:39Z

Great artstyle and mood, dark and gloomy. I think you could make it even darker and gloomier with the use of post-processing ad some creative 2d lighting!

Solid gameplay. Clever idea to use signs as tutorials.

Didn't quite get what was the connection to the theme. I guess you planned for the second location to explain that, but didn't have time to make it?

Anyway, nice entry!

Scrambl'd by StarErik 2020-04-22T20:23:14Z

An adorable game! The graphics and sound are on point. The mechanics are simple to understand, and the gameplay is challenging yet fun! I like that the levels are constructed to teach you how everything works through gameplay. Ran just in a couple of troubles: * the webpage wouldn't load for me until I turned vpn on * had some trouble understanding how to start the game, but to be fair, I didn't read the controls beforehand)

Devil Devour Alive by VirtuaWorlds 2020-04-22T22:23:04Z

Great aesthetics! I like how you tied everything together, from your cover to your menus. One problem, though - the game screen kept blinking white on me. Don't know if this was intentional or not.

The gameplay is simple, but weirdly meditative. Played a couple of times with enjoyment.

Devil Devour Alive by VirtuaWorlds 2020-04-23T08:01:10Z

@virtuaworlds, yeah, the whole screen, part by part. I can try to get a screenshot or a gif of it, if you need it!

Was playing on a Win 10 OS, as suggested. Here are my CPU and GPU: Speccy 2020-04-23 10.52.091.png

Hope this helps!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Virus Bash by joewan 2022-04-07T21:09:13Z

Really solid top down shooter! The gameplay is really satisfying and addictive. Love the simple artstyle, it's bright and saturated but very readable!

well by Turncoda 2022-04-09T13:56:50Z

Really curious game! Nice sound design and music, even though it's really subtle

Unfortunately, game throws an exception if I try to "wait" for the third time. So couldn't go further than that, and couldn't figure out what else to do. Tried win build, same thing, game just crashes. But maybe it's supposed to do that? I'm not sure.

Under Siege by lcrabbit 2022-04-07T19:19:14Z

Nice game! Enjoyable art and music, and I can see gameplay being quite addictive.

The only two things I didn't like: - numbers and sliders constantly changing, which is rather disorienting - the fact that you get locked out of progress completely if you don't build a settlement/get all settlements destroyed

Different Strokes by Scott Steffes 2022-04-09T17:57:29Z

What a unique idea! Got absolutely mesmerized walking around the gallery to the point I got lost lol. And painting was really fun!

My only complaint is that I got an "Out of memory" error that would crash the game (web version) 2 times halfway through my paintings  Guess I took to long with my drawings

Dungeon Dummies by Jozef 2022-04-07T18:53:09Z

Awesome game! Interesting mechanics and well crafted puzzles. Really liked how you introduced each characters' behavior interactively and slowly built up difficulty. Level 7 seemed the hardest to me though, spent the most time on it compared to all the other levels. The artstyle is adorable and soundtrack is enjoyable but not distractive.

The only downside for me is that it didn't seem to tie well to the theme. I think your concept is "delay the heroes inevitable death in the end" but tbh felt more like I was accelerating things by helping... and getting them to the boss quicker

Campfire by Shadowcast 2022-04-09T15:07:12Z

I wouldn't call this entry a game. This is an experience, a very carefully and lovingly crafted and beautifully looking one. This was a nice change of pace from other Ludum games, I really enjoyed it.

I wish there was more choice in dialog, like in the beginning. It was a bit weird it was introduced and then dropped altogether. I suspect you wanted to make dialogue more interactive, but just didn't have enough time to implement it?

Highrail to hell by BadPiggy 2022-04-06T23:24:25Z

Really nice artstyle! Simple, legible, but still looks fresh and interesting because of the diorama twist. Same goes for animation. Especially wanna point out the attack of the zombie: it was well telegraphed and gave you enough time to react. The only thing that confused me was the same as what @ZOMBIEBUST3R pointed out: player sprite seems to be backwards.

I really like how you gradually introduce mechanics. But I must admit, I didn't really see the task messages till the second to last level  Still got through the levels before anyway, it's kinda intuitive what you have to do.

Enjoyed playing this little game! Feels polished. My only gripe is that the gameplay is a little repetitive. It seems like you wanted to add much more though, just didn't have the time, which is understandable

Oh, on a sidenote. Stumbled upon a bug with music, at some point it started to repeat and overlay with itself.

DOWN the DUNGEON by renrok 2022-04-09T10:14:55Z

Just wanted to pop in and say thank you to everybody who played and commented! We're really happy that a lot of people like it

We're thinking about doing a Post-Jam version, so we can expand content a bit and address some issues we didn't have time to fix during Jam (like boss lifebar, for example). All your feedback is valuable and taken into consideration!

Darko by Sodoj 2022-04-07T19:55:03Z

Interesting visual style, defenetely captured my attention!

Jumping around, dashing and slicing through the enemies felt really nice, but the platforming I found a bit hard.

Default FOV and mouse sens are a bit too much for me. Tried to change them in the options, but I suspect the settings didn't work, as visually nothing changed and when I came back to the options menu they all were on default values.

Love, wings & flamethrowers by torte478 2022-04-06T23:56:18Z

Hey, buddy, everything okay at home? This is sad.. Aaanyway Interesting choice to tell a story with a platformer. Curious mechanics, I liked how you constructed puzzles with them, they were enjoyable to solve. But controls felt a bit awkward to me, couldn't get used to pressing Z twice and holding it the second time.

Also FYI, found a bug where you fall through the floor in the very first part of level 9. The restart solved the issue, so it wasn't much of a problem, just a bit annoying, cause that part of the level is kinda hard.

LD52 — Harvest

Reapo Man: Death Who? by LandoSystems 2023-01-14T18:40:23Z

Interesting mechanic! The tutorial is too reliant on text, but even with quickly scanning through it I understood what to do.

I get what you were aiming for with graphics, but imho it's too obscure and mismatched. Only played it because my teammate compelled me to

Otherwise great entry!

It was all for the Tuna by rosypenguin 2023-01-14T18:40:34Z

Cute game! Loved how you approached controls - intuitive to use and feel smooth. Art is adorable. Ending took me by surprise

Click Click Farm by boaheck-artgent 2023-01-14T21:31:00Z

Really pretty graphics, but gameplay felt unsatisfying for a clicker-game imho :pensive: I think its because you have to click for a rather long time (and also aim at grid slots - which slows you down even more) to harvest and plant before you get harvesters. Also wanted more feedback - could not realise if sprinklers and harvesters were working.

This is my Dream Job by EggshellDog 2023-01-14T18:47:35Z

Kids go brrrr

Scythe by beats 2023-01-14T19:42:36Z

I think this is the shortest game in Jam lol. 25 seconds first try!

Great entry, minimalistic, but everything is well polished

Hedgehog Tree by Alexascher 2023-01-14T13:18:25Z

Nicely polished little game! Loved the painterly visuals, music is pleasant and sound-design is satisfying. The gameplay is simple and relaxing. Nothing innovative, but it does it's job and does it well) With a lose condition I think this would work great as an infinite time-killer game.

Hector the Apothecary by Daxic 2023-01-14T17:42:39Z

Fun game! The way it's structured reminded me of Loop Hero a little. A bit short though, a agree that the cure meter could be rebalanced to take longer.

Art looks great, but I feel like it was lacking readability - everything is a bit too uniform, both in color and detail.

Encountered a bug in web version that would make the game unresponsive after winning a battle (tried on Firefox and Brave).

Nice job overall!

Water Tower by KeithSwanger 2023-01-14T18:59:09Z

Fun core mechanics, but objectives felt unnecessary. If yellow fruit are well indicated, the nearest/farthest and biggest/smallest are hard to figure out and not really fun to do so.

Buzzy Business by amarokczukay 2023-01-14T19:14:06Z

Fun game, kept me replaying until I beat it

Found the best strategy - just bite the first guy in the heel haha

Buzzy Business by amarokczukay 2023-01-14T20:28:14Z

@amarokczukay just tried it on hard mode in Post Jam. First thing, wow, a lot of new content! Sencond - yeah, you're right, way harder  But I'm sure it's possible :smiling_imp:

Data Baron by Ravernt 2023-01-14T19:34:06Z

Simple and addicting. Got to 5355 GB!

Love the art, very clean look.

LD54 — Limited Space

Cosmic Chaos by Jiri_One 2023-10-10T13:07:56Z

Great implementation of the theme! Such a cool idea with the upgrades. Movement controls are bit too hard though (would love to at least have the ability to move backwards)

Super Earth Spacer by OWC 2023-10-10T18:20:38Z

Interesting idea! The game also feels and looks great, but once there's a lot of objects on screen the lag is awful. I agree with the previous commenter that some rules to enforce specific placement would be beneficial - right now the system is easy to abuse and cheese.

Love the addition of the leaderboard, it's the thing that kept me playing) Gotta be first!

Seagull Island | L'île aux Goélands by Seb_degraff 2023-10-10T13:47:05Z

Beautiful game, love it! Chill, but challenging. Kept me playing for quite some time to get higher scores.

Tried to launch it on my phone, but it is stuck on loading screen(

Would you consider building an apk? This game seems like fun time-killer, which I would love to have in my pocket

Seagull Island | L'île aux Goélands by Seb_degraff 2023-10-12T18:41:47Z

@seb-degaff checked the apk, it works! But a bit awkward to play, as the blocks are offset by a lot from where you tap

Seagull Island | L'île aux Goélands by Seb_degraff 2023-10-13T08:39:26Z

@seb-degraff yeah, I figured it's probably done on purpose. The offset just seemed a bit extreme, but played a bit more and it's defenitely something you can get used to!

Tiny Tour by Bugord 2023-10-11T14:23:11Z

Lovely game! Reminds me of a prettier and more puzzle oriented version of Freeways  Enjoyed playing through all the levels

Amoeba Feast by Peco 2023-10-05T15:40:56Z

Such a chill game! Very replayable

Landfall by LCStark 2023-10-10T12:49:56Z

Nice chill game! Love the visual style, simple and clean. As some previous commenters said, it would be cool to add adjacency mattering, so building placement would be more of a puzzle. Right now nothing really stops you from building other than lack of resources, and if you have the necessary productions whether you can afford something is just a matter of time.

Glad we could help with the build selector!

World Weaver by JUSTCAMH 2023-10-06T08:12:06Z

I wish there was wore to the game! Feels like I only started to get the hang of mechanics and it already ended :disappointed: As the previous commenter, also accidentally got myself pushed into the circular rock formation, but managed to glitch back out of it with dash

Blockade Burst 95 by OwlyCode 2023-10-05T15:35:38Z

Simple, fun and challenging! Love the colors

Cloud Prison by Alexascher 2023-10-03T13:22:17Z

Well polished game! Mechanic is easy to understand but interesting. Love the achievements, adds replayability. It seems not all of them work though. Have only one critique - in a case of misclick redrawing patters is really unintuitive.

Ominos by OgelGames 2023-10-05T16:06:47Z

What a unique take on a standard puzzle game! In an earlier comment you mentioned that pieces are randomized, and I guess every puzzle has multiple solutions?

FROUST! by Kupnu4 2023-10-11T14:36:26Z

Funny how our teams came up with a similar idea! I guess great minds think alike :smirk:

You have much better indication of the iceberg sinking than we  Taking notes!

Safe Space Passage by Kepsert 2023-10-12T18:34:35Z

Great highly polished entry! Very well executed difficulty progression, slowly adding new mechanics one by one. Even though there's a lot to juggle, once you get the hang of gameplay, it's sooo satisfying to play!

Played through the whole game, collected all the hearts, but could not figure out how to beat the last level.

SUPA SEAL-MAN!! 小さな氷山島に魚の事故!! by MoonDweller 2023-10-05T11:42:58Z

SUPA SEAL-MAN!! 小さな氷山島に魚の事故!! by MoonDweller 2023-10-05T14:51:19Z

@viktorthegreat, thank you! Glad you managed to figure out how to play  We aimed to make a game as self-explanatory as possible, so we could omit implementing a tutorial. Guess we still need to give some explanations to the player  Considering a special move - we had an idea to add a dash. But it turned out underwhelming and we did not figure out how to make it effective and satisfying in time, so we scrapped it altogether.

Crime Critters (Rob the British Museum) by Pen Island Games 2023-10-06T17:09:34Z

So much fun! Simple mechanic, but works great. Once we realized you can prop doors with some objects the heist got a lot easier  Played a couple time with friends and got to $18000+
