Felt really polished!
Loved the idea, execution, and the final puzzle.
This is really nice, concept is original and fit the theme perfectly, the mood is really immersive as well. The combat were just challenging enough and well through with the dash mechanic. A great entry congratz :)
This is astounding, simply astounding. The atmosphere is very captivating, the game seems unendingly expansive, and overall, I've had fun with it. I do admit that the enemy towers felt a bit off, as the game seemed more of an exploration puzzle than anything else, but that's my only gripe with it.
It took me a while to understand what was happening and I'm not sure if I still entirely do, but there is a definite sense of discovery there! One of the most unique games so far! I love the mood and the art!
Beautiful and absolutely mind crushing puzzle, well done.
This is such a good game!!! Some of the most creative puzzles i've played in a loong time.
Lovely game, this is a really incredible mechanic and the atmosphere and art elevate it even further. I made it to the end with one thread remaining. I would be really interested in seeing this expanded with either a bigger emphasis on the puzzles or with the main mechanics woven into combat a bit more (maybe being able to isolate enemies or erase bullets). Great work!
What an awesome mechanic! Beautiful art too! Played on stream here https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1942871170?t=0h1m49s
Wow, this was cool! It took me a while to understand what was happening, it was so rewarding to figure it out. The effects and atmosphere gives it a very magical feeling. I have no idea how you designed the levels 🤯, the way they weave back and forth is so clever. Fits the theme really well.
Amazing work!
The most interesting game among those I saw at this jam. The essence of the mechanics was conveyed very well through the visuals. The controls felt good. The style was consistent. The location with a bonfire reminded me of the first Dark Souls. I was expecting a boss fight at the end, but it seems that due to lack of time (as is usually the case at jams) it was feature-cut?) Nevertheless, the game turned out excellent. If there's a post-jam version with more content, I'll gladly play it

whoops. I will come back to this game later. played on stream but then after getting the three towers technically done but not knowing how to position them to get them simultaneously I got stuck between rocks and I had to keep the stream going so now rating this for now, I will finish it in my own time
I wish there was wore to the game! Feels like I only started to get the hang of mechanics and it already ended :disappointed: As the previous commenter, also accidentally got myself pushed into the circular rock formation, but managed to glitch back out of it with dash
:D This game is amazing! I love all of sprites. The dash animation is excellent and very satisfying. The narrative and story is so engaging, and really meta with the whole creating a game thing we do in a game jam. The theme and aesthetics really mesh well together to give this a really gripping atmosphere. The enemies are really fun. Each pattern is interesting and different, and not too hard. The unweaving/weaving mechanic is really interesting, and the puzzle-play that comes out of it is really great. I'm amazed at how well you implemented all the different aspects of this! Best game I've played!
It was a huge "aha" moment when I realized that opening new threads is just _layering_ new sections on top of the level, instead of opening up whole new isolated levels -- that's a really unique idea! As a standalone puzzle game, that would've been interesting enough, but the additional narrative layer that you added really weaved it (ha!) into something excellent. Great job!
I feel dumb but I couldn't figure out how to get past the room with the first. I tried unwinding the threads in different directions to try have a thread land where the threadless one was, but then the threadless one removed. Tried hitting red one, or leading bullets from red one to empty one. Prob something simple, but it means I've not got to explore rest of your game sadly :(
Pretty cool entry! Loved the mystical atmosphere, and gameplay is quite engaging. Curious, how did you make the weaving animation? Great job!
Great and unique concept! I really enjoyed it. The story, a bit mysterious and told in sparse dialogue, draws you in, as you do want to get to the weaver. Visuals are great, and the music fits well. Superb job.
I wished for some checkpoints after I died for the first time to the spiral spitter
I loved this! The concept was explained well throughout the progression, and it made for some neat puzzle design. Figuring out how to get past the line of rocks in the final area took some thinking, but it was really rewarding. Excellent storytelling as always!
Heya! I played this on stream just now, sorry for not waiting for you to show up, but unfortunately I can't quite stream as often as I'd like this time. You can look at the VOD here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1949239231?t=01h55m59s
Great game as always! Was quite surprised to see the Godot loading bar this time, you can see it in my reaction on stream. I really would like to know how you always come up with these ideas, everyone of them fits the theme perfectly and the graphical effect when the tiles would spawn in also fascinates me. (Tiny comment: The ending felt quite abrupt in the end, but I realize time constraints might have played a part in that.) Great stuff!
Loading was a little heavy, and then it would sometimes hang for a while and then return. Very original indeed, to the point where I asked myself if I even really understood what was happening. I progressed for a while but then I wasn't sure if there was more to go, but from the photos in the post there was definitely more. Nice music and graphics. Gameplay and originality are the focus here in this game. Very on topic, very well done. After a while I found it a little repetitive, but very creative without a doubt, and of course, very well done.
Even though I don't have a very direct connection with the topic, I loved it! Truly a very original idea. A very well created game. It's among my favorite LD54 games.
Congratulations!
I loved the atmosphere created by the art and music! I like that all the interactions (including talking and reading signs) are done with the one dash action. I think the mechanic is super interesting, though it was hard to understand, and I felt like I guessed my way through the end rather than understanding how to solve the puzzle. I couldn't tell whether the damage from the towers was consequential or not, but I did still try to avoid getting hit. Also a small quality of life thing is that I didn't realize that pressing space during the dialogue would skip to the next dialogue, so I missed some text.
I think this game was really, really creative and some ideas there have a lot of potential. It took me some time to understand what was happening, so perhaps some easier initial puzzles would help
OMG I was so close to the end and died and then had to restart 😠This was really unique, clever, and interesting though. I love the world you built in a few sentences and the act of building and hiding (but rarely destroying) things with the thread.
Ok, I'm not sure I understood everything, also I'm bad at puzzle games, but overall I enjoyed the experience. Nice little game that can be tricky for people like me who are not good with puzzles ^^' Good job!
Really awesome puzzle game! Loved the pixel art, simple controls, transition effects, music, and story telling. It took a bit to understand how the world weaving worked, but once I grokked it, it all made sense and I was able to complete the game. Great entry!
Nice puzzle game. Very pretty art and music. Well done!
Took a little while to understand what I was doing, but after I was getting the hang of it, I ended up really enjoying this concept or weaving the world! It's super interesting and the graphics really help set the mood for it. Really interesting and amazing concept, loved it! Extremely well done ^-^
I managed to make the three towers visible and beat the game. This game is very moody and the music goes with it really well. The main mechanic is really unique and makes for an interesting spin of the theme. Instead of having a big world, you compress it all in the same screen. I couldn't help but wonder how the main mechanic in this game was implemented, perhaps the world is a tree of tilemaps and you have a stack where you push and pop the tilemaps associated with the tree's node, the nodes being represented in the game as the thread rolls that you cand roll and unroll. A very interesting entry indeed, great job!
@justcamh @robotmeadows Is there anywhere I can get the soundtrack files?
