Lovely puzzles, congrats!
Always love to see word games and paper puzzles here. Mood was just right.
I love games mixing genres, and this was just one of those jam pearls you keep playing later. Muito bom, parabéns!!
This game has a lot of depth, please keep expanding it! Replay and restart buttons would be really helpful btw
Interesting mix between having to manage requirements and making the pieces fit. Would benefit with easier levels though
I think this game was really, really creative and some ideas there have a lot of potential. It took me some time to understand what was happening, so perhaps some easier initial puzzles would help
Really creative game! I hope it becomes a full, commercial game- actually, I fell like it already is!
Interesting use of the theme in a word game. Challenging but feasible!
Great use of the theme! This is just one of the games you can't stop playing. Hoping it gets expanded into a commercial game
Very creative and well designed! Also pretty challenging ( at least for non-native speakers)
This game is beatiful and I'd love to see an expansion, perhaps with a more lenient timer system
Some levels were really creative and could go on to become something deeper. Congrats on the game!
Hey, a fellow famous-physics-mental-experiment-based-game-maker (I made on based on Maxwell's demon for this jam)! I liked the amount of levels you made. Perhaps more complex, labyrinth-like levels would help increasing the difficulty.
I love games with scientific premises (mine is one as well), great job creating that system!
Thank you all for the feedback. I'll try to make the gameplay clearer. For those wondering, you have to click on a filled cell on one square and pass it to the other one. The objective is to keep the amount of filled cells under certain limits. And yes, the game has no audio yet.
Thank you @nikor and @tiseno for your feedback! I updated the submission. I tried to make the game a bit easier (which requires a lot of fine-tuning for these cellular automata puzzles) and added a button that allows for turning the timer on/off.
Really interesting use of exploring a map through testing and memory. Perhaps being able to switch spaces freely would help making it even more fast-paced (if that's already possible, I didn't see how)
I hate SmallFluffy Inc. so much
Really well polished game! Perhaps it would be funnier to play if a bit easier
Really addictive and has a LOT of room for further expansion. Also loved the subtle chromatic aberration, really added to the visuals. Great job!!
The game was really fun to play and I really loved the visuals-- particularly of the paper monsters! I agree that it could be a bit easier when it comes to remembering the details, but overall it was engaging and a great interpretation of the theme. Good job!
I'd say this is a pretty challenging game, but it's fair and satisfactory. The use of programming-like strategies is quite rich and there's surely some good space for further expansion. Good job!
I loved this game! At first I was quite lost but then I got to understand how pieces interacted with each other.
The presence of theme is clearly not only on the visual identity but also on the puzzle's logic itself, as nexuses (nexi?) form a center of focus which can be further disturbed by asymmetries in the scenario.
I also enjoyed how not only there are many different pieces, but how you can find them through exploration. There's some real space there for further development.
Overall, visuals, audio, all great! Really good job, keep on.
Good job! I loved the demons and mechanics were solid. I'd just try improving UI since so much is kind of implicit, but for a game jam it's not a problem. Keep on!
I really felt like I was summoning something in this game! Interesting how the theme was part of the puzzle itself. I had a hard time with it but overall really good job!
Really fun to play and I'd love to know more specificaly how summoning works. The crispy graphics were great and made all creatures visually. Great job and keep on!
This was really fun to play! A bit more difficulty would make it even better. I liked the summons and it really felt like I was becoming powerful- although getting better slowly would make it more rewarding. Good music and I liked the narrative twist of combating villagers, and not other, possibly unmotivated generic enemy monsters. Good job!
This game was actually quite addictive, wished it was longer! Good job overall and beautiful graphics. ld.png
Great concept, there's some good potential for expansion here! I also really liked the visuals and the graphic effects, which do add to the desired experience. I'd also love a downloadable version though, since it can be too slow on my browser sometimes
This was genuinely the most fun I've had so far this jam. UI and balance could be improved, but there's a lot of space for expansion here. Good job!
Absolutely loved this game. Initially, it was quite frustrating though, and trial and error was the only way to solve the first serious puzzle. After it I got a better idea of the possibilities and then it was quite satisfactory to solve the levels. Really loved the idea, the shapes of the scenario and how the final level works as I kind of editor-- really cool stuff here! I hope this idea gets developed, because I also love and do games which play with perspective and different geometries.
Btw, if you're more mathematically inclined, Penrose's short article "On the Cohomology of Impossible Figures" (https://www.iri.upc.edu/people/ros/StructuralTopology/ST17/st17-05-a2-ocr.pdf) is a real delight to read, and may serve as a source of inspiration for such games.
I really liked the visuals, both the colors and the subtle chromatic aberration. One can wonder what could be done with this plus some Tunic-like camera. Good job!
This theme clearly alludes for some terror games, but your idea went way beyond my expecations in how macabre it is. Great experience and mood overall. Also liked the pixelated, crispy graphics. Great job!
Took me some time to understand the rules (I went direct to the north room!), but that was also the joy of it. Good job and interesting talk you gave about procedural puzzles!
Interesting exploration of polyrithms; also, the ending was a good addition, adding some mystery appropriate to the theme. Good job!
This game was really fun to play, the visual style is beautiful and helps creating the intended mood. Sounds were also an important part of it, even though they may pass unnoticed. It'll surely be one of those game I save to play and follow further after the jam!
The concept is really interesting and opens many possibilities. I'd love to see if being expanded, perhaps in a more controllable way.
The idea of being able to express though using video games is something I'm really interested in, and this game does an interesting step in this direction. Good job!
Thank you both very much for the feedback. User interaction has been a constant struggle in my games, so I'd really appreciate further tips on this topic from everyone!
@timidger Thank you very much for the feedback! I really get your point when you say you "didn’t really “get” creating my own poems". That's actually the reason why this is an extra submition and not a jam one: I spend two days trying figuring out more interesting mechanics, but it didn't really work. Turns out combining exploration and creation and making them engaging simultaneously is quite tricky. I like the idea of a possible walk simulator and will explore it further!
Btw, yes, every object in the game can also be made by the player! The only exceptions are those with shapes like trees or palms, which I decided to be only parts of the scenario.
@dandala88 Thank you so much for the feedback! It's good to know others here also like breaking some rules and going for "non-traditional", artsy games. When it comes to controls, I considered using WASD for rotation, but didn't use because it would have the tradeoff of limiting player movement. I'll do some research on controls used by other games and software for this kind of stuff
@borabee Thanks for the feedback-- I'm glad that you enjoyed the poems! I'll try to think of some smart ways of making creationg more immersive
@jamieok and @ionbingo , thank you for the feedback. I just uploaded a video in the itch page showcasing how to create objects. I hope it helps. Thank you all for the feedback!
Thank you all for the reviews! This was my third Ludum Dare submission. The first one I actually published too late, and the second one was quite uncompleted. Now, I finally got to make I’m happy with (although there’s still a LOT to improve and explore), so thank you all for the support! thx.png
This game is really addictive and has a ton of room for further expansion-- I imagine, e.g., what one could do with different neighborhood relations, or even if one could add and change them. Great entry overall!
