Another great ludum dare game. The mechanic of packing the jury is really clever. Very cleverly designed I think there is a lot more potential in this idea. The art in this game in really good too. Sop many unique characters and each trial has a whole different vibe too it. Really great game, so much in it. Impressive stuff!

Excellent game as always, I see you've also been inspired by playing a lot of Balatro ;)
There seems to be a bug where various members are called Sherif. ~~Also, I had a skele from the necromancer, then he was supposed to spawn another (there was room), but my first skele was just teleported to the last available location.~~ Got some bad RNG on the first few runs, but overall a great submission.
Great use of the copyright lift btw
edit: upon replaying I realized the exact interaction as written is what happened and the first skele died and then a new one was spawned :)

Pretty fun and engaging
Really interesting idea and mechanic. I love your art style, it is pretty fun.
This is possibly the first *perfect* game that I've played so far in this compo. I'm seriously impressed!

Impressively polished game! Very very nice job!
I had a lot of fun playing it, ah you got a few laughs off me =D
Kinda overshoot the target for the last trial, but hey... am I not a legend of jury-packing?

Wow this is so good! Super polished and just a cute game overall.
Only nit is that it would be nice to have a pause menu for volume control, but that is not a big deal.
Really great job, and a funny interpretation of the theme.
Fantastic game. I´m amazed by the level of polish here, and the amount of content. Every time I though it was over there was more, new stuff. I don't know how you do it in such short time!
Wow the graphics are amazing! That thumbnail banner really makes you want to try the game
Great game! I love the gameplay and sheer amount of gameplay and polish given the amount of time you had. Keep it up!
Wow, that was insanely polished for a game done in two days. Fun concept, enjoyable gameplay, fantastic art & sound, didn't overstay its welcome. Absolutely brilliant!

Incredibly and impressively polished, I can't believe you added a fast forward button in a compo period. I love the turn at the end that you have to defend yourself!
The last cutscene is missing a word by the way. Also I was really hoping that I could drag my jurors around to avoid John Wilkes Booth's reticle, but alas not this time.
Do I possibly detect a hint of social commentary?

Very polished, addictive and fun ! I'd love to play a longer version ! I got stuck because of money and I couldn't achieve much but I'm gonna play some more haha
Really enjoyed this game. A jury take on "summoning" is very clever, and I like the packing and selling mechanic. The art style looked good, the noir storyline was fun. Great work!

Great game, the fact that it's done in two days gives me nothing but respect, the trial with mikey made me really laugh out loud
Didn't expect a DBG. Great Game.

Wow! Crazy good for a jam game, so much polish and a enough variety to keep you playing! Good job!!!

Amazing how you can pull this off in 48 hours.
I laughed, I thought, I sentenced a Pidgeon to death. Really fun and funny game, the inversion at the end where you had to start getting voted innocent instead was a great idea.
Great game and use of the theme. Generally well polished, as is to be expected from you. The gameplay itself was quite fun, but think the final trial could have been a bit more difficult. I think a couple of visual changes to text would have been good (give outline etc.) as there were points where I was getting black text on black background. Always enjoy playing your entries though.

Splendid game! Really loved the laser-focus on theme. 10/10, would have necromancers vouch for my innocence again.

incredible amount of polish and content in the short amount of time, the only thing really that I could've asked for is some music and a bit more challenge, maybe jurors that have "right" abilities to chain together. Nonetheless it was really fun and really well made, insane.
Incredible stuff. Figuring out the way to beat the black-and-white level (avoiding spoilers) made me feel very smart. I also laughed out loud at the reveal of that level. Very well done.
2024-04-17 23_34_20-Voir Dire.png Very funny and overall a very great jam game. Congrats. By 13 votes out of 7, I'm innocent your honor.
Very funny and inventive, good job ! I lost at the second one, but it was very amusing, I enjoyed it !

very well polished game! I got 10 innocent out of 7 needed for the final trial, and the reverse objective for defending innocent is fun. I do wish cards (I mean, jurors) can have more synergy between each other, but this is already impressive for compo entry - nice job!

In some obscure way, reminds me of Einstein's riddles. I'm sure you did a lot of background research and this is totally how irl trials work.

Awesome game, as usual. I especially like the final trial's "twist"
Akin to all good rogue likes, the ability to exploit the heck out of a single item makes this game 10 times more fun.

Great work, good story, and I found the mickey level exceptionally funny. (Darn Disney lawyers packing the jury!)

I'm amazed that this is a compo game. I really liked how everything felt visually dynamic as you moved through the stages of the trial. I was a little confused at first about the win condition, thought you had to get a majority rather than a certain number of guilty votes.
Yep, it's insanely good. Drop-dead simple mechanic, the kind that makes you mad you didn't think of it. The penultimate defendant was perfection. Looks great, sounds great. Keep 'em coming!
Wow! I've been doing Ludum Dare for over ten years and this has to be the best Compo entry I've ever seen. Everything about it oozes quality. Not only are the graphics and audio exceptional, but there is a slickness to their execution. The story was fun, and the gameplay works great. There were so many permutations, and combinations; I had so much fun trying to make the twins vote as many times as possible. I don't think I have a single constructive comment to make on this one, and I believe it's the first time I've ever voted all 5:star:'s on a compo entry. Great work :8ball:

amazing submission! Leaves me wishing for a lot more levels! Had to laugh hard after seeing a certain recent addition to the public domain on the stand...
This is the best LD55 game I have played so far, even if the theme is a bit forced on it. The basic game flow reminds me of Avalon/The Resistance, but the twist of the jury-building mechanics is genius.

Really addictive and has a LOT of room for further expansion. Also loved the subtle chromatic aberration, really added to the visuals. Great job!!

My friend recommended this to me and I love it :D
Another exceptional Daniel Mullins game. The polish was top-notch, the gameplay was engaging all the way through, and there was a surprising amount of gameplay for a LD entry (I think it took me about 15 minutes).
My only comment for improvement is that the randomness of the jury selection made my first run after the tutorial impossible to win - I rerolled until I could get a single guilty voter, but then had no money to buy them. I ended up restarting my game and just throwing the first 2 mock trial cases to build up money, and then steamroll the rest of the cases. That strategy worked so well that I just did it for the rest of the game.
Good job!
(P.S. - really capitalizing on that Steamboat Willie public domain!)

Really well made game. Flipping the mechanics at the end to make the player need to get the opposite goal of what they were getting throughout the game was a really nice addition. Certain things werent as clear such as how many jurors can be added on (with initial purchasing seems like max is 5 since that fills the stands with the starting margin between jurors and theres nothing to indicate otherwise unless someone experiments with that which may not happen). The game itself though feels like really complete experience and theres lots of polish everywhere including things like changing the palette in the mickey trial and the expressions of the defendant
Played through it on a stream and attached the vod if you wanted to look at it (game is the first chapter after the waiting period)

The best game of the jam for me ! It was very fun to play, there are several levels + narration + great visuals + great sound design + some funny hapenings ( :mouse: ), and you did all alone ??? That's very impressive. Congrats

Frickin' majestic. I wonder if this will end up expanded on into a full game sometime. :3c
The third trial was *hilarious.*

Had a blast playing through this game with the game loop and overall experience given. The humorous pokes and easter eggs to Steamboat Willie and seeing the Mycologist in the jury was fun to see. Had a blast just iterating through each trial and enjoying the clean design and best judge around.
Nice game! Loved the third trial and liked that reversal for the last trial. The art and audio was also really great!
well thought out mechanic and concept execution! very fun and the art is amazing with all the animations!
Excellent as always. So polished, all the juice, loved it. It's so good to see this quality of game being pumped out in 48 hours.

The concept was great, the execution was great, incredibly polished for 48 hours! Super impressive. Honestly I don't got a lot of notes besides just wanting more content! One of my favorites so far!

I really liked the intro and outro with a silhouette, gave noir vibes. Game definitely has it's own unique atmosphere, the concept feels unique, character designs are expressive :)
Whew, that was intense but fun! I got lucky and won each case the first time (or I'm a genius lol) but I did lose one round against the second dude. This is a hysterical game that's put together well enough to be a small Switch indie game or something already 🙌

Fantastic game, the best I've played. The level of polish is unreal.
this was super cool!

This is how to make a fantastic game in 48 hours. It’s so well-crafted and fun!
Numerous elements come together seamlessly to create a well-rounded game: original mechanic, balanced gameplay, all wrapped up in a narrative with its setup, rising action, and climax.
I have a suggestion to offer, perhaps a bit of music could have made the game even more complete, but in 48 hours, one can hardly ask for more.
My sincerest congratulations to the author. I’m looking forward to attending his conference, and I am truly excited.
Spectacular game!
Congrats on the win.
