LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deepest Sword by Strega 2021-04-29T00:43:34Z

This game is great in every aspect! Beautiful art and music. Great and fun concept and story. Original gameplay. A little too hard for me though and I couldn't finish it yet! But I'll definitly try again soon haha

Fallen Angel by Eduardo Yukio 2021-04-28T11:10:14Z

Really cool game with great pacing and music. It was very fun to play!

Deeper Sleep Beta by Kszaku 2021-04-29T00:40:57Z

This was such a weird game to play LOL I love the theme, it's very current! And the mood was set perfectly with the aesthetics and sounds effects. I encountered a few bugs though which most people already pointed out: text cut off, game lags a bunch at some points, image task instructions was too quick to read... And in the middle part it got a bit boring! But overall I really liked it.

20.000 LIGHT YEARS deep in THE SKY by Arivenzys 2021-04-29T01:54:03Z

Amazing in every way! From an original take on the theme to a wonderful story and narration to atmospheric and diverse music to unbelievably gorgeous artwork to a clear UI and great balance on the design of every planet's characteristics to smooth, simple to undertand, bug free gameplay... Unbeliavable you guys managed to do all this in only 72h! Definitely my favorite so far.

Nadiria by ArguablyArugula 2021-04-28T16:47:28Z

Very nice game with beautiful character art and animation and a song that sets the mood perfectly.

My only critiques are: - Your scenery art could've used a bit more attention -- the flat colors felt empty and out of place with the intricate characters (even reusing the enemy sprites in the background or adding some spots/a texture to the walls could've gone a long way), plus some sloppy crooked corners bothered me since seeing the straight walls flow as the character moved was very satisfying to me haha And there are some corners where you can get stuck. - I also missed some control guidelines in game (took me a long time to figure out the dash) - As some people already said here, in some sections there's really no challenge at all because the spaces are too wide and the character control is so precise (maybe if it was more bouncy like flappy bird for instance the wider levels could work)

I really enjoyed the narrower bits though and had a fun time overall!

Selkö by Doot 2021-04-28T16:21:42Z

Beautiful game with incredible art and a very curious ending haha. Congratulations!

Frog by cacciatc 2021-04-29T01:27:12Z

This game is really beautiful and has a great mood! I downloaded the NES emulator just for it, still wasn't able to complete it though. Special congrats to the artist cause the art is really stunning!

The Hidden Unknown by CubeX 2021-04-29T02:33:41Z

Very entertaining game! I really liked the mechanics and overall mood and I liked that you kept the artstyle minimal bc it suited the game well. My only complaints are, like other people said, it would be nice to have WASD (I think arrow keys with mouse is always a bad idea plus with the E as well it was quite uncomfortable) and a visual indicator of the wires' range! Also, at one point I fell trhough the wall near the left edge of the map haha Haven't found the cube yet but will keep trying later. Well done!

(oh and terrain deforming was really nice, I'm a bit of a programming noob so I wouldn't even know how to go about implementing that kind of mechanic :o)

Deeper by hgushi 2021-04-28T12:16:39Z

Hey @fiakaiera thanks for your feedback! I'm glad you liked the art and characters. This was our first game ever* and we couldn't work on the game fulltime during the jam because of school and work, so sadly we did run out of time towards the end... :( There's still some time to fix bugs so we will take the points you mentioned into consideration and perfect it when we can! Thanks again!

*I specifically have done other jams on this site but this was my first time as a programmer

Low Notes by mhorth 2021-04-29T00:10:06Z

Really cool and original idea in concept and I'm always here for a rhythm game in the jam! ...But in execution it was a little uncomfortable to hear the music constantly distort haha :')

Since you're gonna keep working on this project, something I would suggest trying out is instead of the music changing "deepness" everytime you get something wrong or right, only change it after the player misses or gets it right a certain amount of times, so the music stays consistent for longer.

Also, I think you can punish the player a bit more haha. I felt like I was getting a bunch of notes wrong and still never got close to losing. Punishing the player for pressing the wrong key might be a good idea too, otherwise I can win by just pressing every key on beat!

Lastly, I was reading some ideas on the comments and I agree some visual cues like changing color as the note gets closer would help too.

Anyway, really enjoyed it overall! The graphics are very polished and the gameplay is quite fun. Congrats!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Down to the Wire by Mieeh 2022-04-09T22:43:44Z

Really cool game. This is one of the most original ideas I've seen so far. The art is great, the difficulty progression is very well done, and the music sets the mood perfectly. At first I thought the time was very forgiving, but when I got to a level I couldn't wrap my head around, I really started to feel the pressure of the timer! haha I got up to stage 21 but definitely gonna play again later bc it's so much fun!

Shoal by Kerdelos 2022-04-09T22:25:06Z

Very fun game! The art style is wonderful, the music really sets the tone, the challenges along the way are very creative and it has infinite replayability! I really don't have any constructive feedback, as I think this was perfectly executed for the time of the jam! Great job!

Clear Skies with a Chance of Meteors by chriiis88 2022-04-10T15:09:15Z

Very fun! It's a pretty simple idea but wonderfully executed, with clear and concise controls+UI. It took me a while to understand all the factors the cards controlled, but after that I couldn't stop playing! It's pretty cool how many factors you were able to add and how they all interact, with many interesting trade-offs! I especially liked the acceleration factor. The only thing I missed was some background music to set the mood!

I got to 195 people saved in the end!

Earworm Jam by ursagames 2022-04-11T00:07:40Z

Really cool game!! The idea is super original, the song is so good it's, well, a earworm, the gameplay is really engaging and the humor+mood+graphics are priceless (so many little things going on in the desert <3) !! I had a ton of fun with it. Here's my high score!!!

Marin and The Sinking Kingdom by boaheck-artgent 2022-04-10T16:32:10Z

Really liked this game, from concept to execution (beautiful art, music, and I really like the story!). However, I found it pretty difficult. Early on, I wasn't able to solve the puzzles quickly enough, but then was able to ride up with the water until it wasn't possible anymore. I feel like I would have liked it better if the game either just killed me and threw me right back into it or maybe if the water started slower and got progressively faster, with a more gradual increase in difficulty! But anyway, I could always start over so it was a great experience!

Dungeon Architect by kazuo256 2022-04-07T13:54:04Z

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for playing and for all your amazing feedback!

@aeternall @ruruie Terrain tiles with different directions/control over the path is definitely something we wanted to add, but sadly didn't have time. Some of our scrapped concepts were the bifurcation and the trifurcation rooms, that would be able to split the party, a room that would make adventurers go in the opposite direction and an elbow/corner room!

@albionbrown @noskro I agree the golem room is definitely a bit OP and the game does have some balancing issues overall. I think finding the time to playtest and balance out all the bonuses, combos and prices of the rooms, along with the increasing possibilities of the growing grid was definitely a bigger challenge than we anticipated when we came up with this concept! Personally, by the end of the jam I was still drawing assets like crazy and what balancing we did manage to do was thanks to @lordanb!

@lectvs Hey! I watched your stream (thanks a lot again for playing!) and what happened was your berserker reached the dragon without going through all the rooms you built, so that's why you didn't regain all the money you spent! I didn't say anything while you were playing because learning as you go is also a part of the fun, but the adventurers actually choose the next room randomly XD They don't necessarily clear everything you built!

Dungeon Architect by kazuo256 2022-04-11T00:19:32Z

Hey, @ralfz, thanks for playing and for the feedback!! It's possible on level 6 you tried to use the slime haaalwaaaay as a connection and didn't realize it only connects from left to right (no doors on top/bottom). That might be why the game didn't register as a complete path to the exit!

Tatertot Towers by Cosmic Adventure Squad 2022-04-05T22:18:35Z

Really loved this game. The art is really cute, with a very inventive angle. The sound design is wonderful. The gameplay is very fun, although a bit on the hard side, I feel like it's something I could play for hours. A very polished game overall for so little time! Something I feel would help with the difficulty is just a liiittle bit more time between each wave to learn the new mechanics. It's very hard to read the tutorial and learn what the new materials do when you're rushing to build your defenses against the next wave.

Whispers Of The Heart by landosilva 2022-04-05T19:40:05Z

Beautiful game! I really loved the artstyle, which reminded me a bit of Don't Starve and was what drew me in at first. Together with the slow soundtrack, it set the mood perfectly for your concept of death, will and memories. The stories along the way were very touching.

However, I found the gameplay a little repetitive and couldn't get to the end in my first few playthroughs, since the flower minigame was pretty difficult for me!

Will There Bee Another? by Gabriel Dias Oliveira de Almeida 2022-04-10T16:02:47Z

Super cute game with amazing art style and dialogue!! I agree with some other commenters that adding some more music and sfx would have really made a difference, but otherwise I really love it. Also, as a "bee" myself, I really liked the character's name haha ;)

MAGICAL JUGGLER EXTRAORDINAIRE by benskca 2022-04-10T17:41:59Z

Reeeally love this game!! Such a fun and simple gameplay and I just love all the variety in spells, achievements, challenges and multipliers! The art and music is just delightful, plus you've got a great UI and a tutorial! I feel like you achieved so much for a compo game! Definitely an all-5 stars for me. Very well done!

Different Strokes by Scott Steffes 2022-04-09T23:36:46Z

Very unique take on the theme! And so well executed, from the satisfying art editor, the characters' witty dialogues, down to the very details like the brush stroke sound and different room layouts. All that along the technical feat of storing all user generated art! I didn't get tired of wandering in the gallery until sadly my game crashed from lack of memory. This has to be my favorite game of this edition for sure!!

Comet by EduSilva 2022-04-05T16:25:58Z

I really enjoyed this game! The concept is great, the gameplay is really fluid, the art is beautiful as always and the soundtrack really fits.

My only feedback is that the time delay could be more noticeable and decrease as the game progresses. As it is, it doesn't feel like you can delay the inevitable much at all.

Anyway, congrats!!

Heal me, please! by Andrey_Zhukov 2022-04-07T16:13:19Z

Hello! I really liked the concept and artwork of this game! However, I could not play it properly because it didn't fit my screen, even on full screen mode. Reading the comments, no one else seems to have had that problem so I don't know what happened :( I'm playing on windows 10, chrome, 1366x768px screenchrome_cSfeeuxeAR.png Just commenting to let you know of this issue!

Heal me, please! by Andrey_Zhukov 2022-04-07T17:19:06Z

@andrey-zhukov I see! I will try that trick and play again later! Thanks!

Cat in the Bag by JoshH 2022-04-10T03:33:22Z

Cool idea + great graphics, soundtrack and humour! This game caught my attention because it has an opposite premise to my own game, which is that adventurers always have plot armor and inevitably win haha. I really enjoyed the story and all it's fun twists! My only feedback is, for some of the choices, I feel like the challenge + setting could be established a bit better, with more detail, on the dialogue, because the outcomes sometimes feel a bit too random, instead of something absurd that still makes sense with the information you had before, if you really think about it (something like the Henry Stickmin games). Also, might me nice to have a button to reset a turn or the game could randomize some scenarios so that we don't have to replay the whole thing every time we get an item wrong! Otherwise, really liked it! The ending killed me lol

We Need To Talk by Doot 2022-04-10T03:39:34Z

Super cute game!! I love everything about it, the theme, the art, the music, the possible answers! I got to 70 but will try again later!

Carpe Diem by Pomo 2022-04-07T20:21:50Z

Really cool game! I wasn't able to get very far bc I'm not good at these types of games, but the gameplay is really fun, the graphics are amazing and the overall mood is just spot on. Well done!

QUADRATORUM by Blue Pin Studio 2022-04-10T16:52:53Z

Really loved this game! The story, the graphics and the rhythmic shooting are all very satisfying and the ending is just :chefskiss: The diminishing world size is very fitting with the theme, however I felt the difficulty level was a bit backwards, as the small world seemed to make it easier to shoot the enemies. Also, the game felt pretty easy overall, since there was no indication that I ever took any actual damage from the enemies. I liked it though, because I'm usually terrible at this types of games, so the short, easy and story-centered experience really catered to my tastes! haha

1 Man 6 Bullets by Raphaeltan 2022-04-10T02:52:22Z

Very interesting take on the genre that fits the theme really well. The mood was set perfectly with the awesome art and music and the game itself is really fun, with easy to understand mechanics, map layouts that add to the experience and infinite replayability!

Unapocalyptic by Daniikk1012 2022-04-10T15:29:56Z

Look, I've seen quite a few "end of the world" games this jam, but none of them with so many different end of the world scenarios like this one haha Had a blast playing the game! I think the only think it's missing is a background soundtrack to sustain the mood, and maybe some other mechanics to make it even more chaotic, like a maybe jump, if you plan on expanding it post-jam!

Super Mowser Bros by Guilloteam 2022-04-07T13:00:14Z

I really really liked the concept and humour of this game, and the art is absolutely wonderful!! Like others said, though, I also found it too easy and ended up beign able to build castles waaay ahead of Bario, which took the fun out of it. And I didn't like having to drag tokens all the way to the other side of the screen, but, otherwise, I though clicking the arrows to change screens was a very inventive interaction and added to the rush of it!

I can really understand the challenge of balancing out the game during the time of the jam. My own game also had problems with balancing and lack of time allocated for playtesting haha. Imo it's one of the hardest things on a jam, when you're too focused on finishing assets and features there's never enough time to test and balance it out! :(

Un-Rooted by Denhette 2022-04-10T15:21:41Z

I got to 83s! I think this is the most original take on the theme I've seen so far and the game is just pure chaos! XD Well executed down to the details, with the fun dialogues and I can't believe you managed to include a character creation haha. Really well done, I had a lot of fun!

The Inevitable Sinking by Alpha Wolf Studios 2022-04-06T03:20:56Z

Very fun game with a simple and innovative concept that was wonderfully executed. Art is very polished and well done, plus super inventive that you managed to come up with so many different obstacles!

Space Ninja by mhorth 2022-04-05T21:53:04Z

First of all, amazing graphics!! I'm impressed how you could make such a polished game in such little time, and with fancy features too, like a leaderboard and the glowing slicer! I think the gameplay could use a little tweaking though. As it is, the meteors come at pretty regular intervals and are too many, so slicing them is pretty easy and just becomes a constant thing. I think these kinds of games are more fun when you have to be at the edge of your seat, looking for surprise attacks, and change your strategy on the go. So less meteors, coming at different speeds to surprise you, and with traps among them might make it more fun. I would also suggest a smaller earth that gives you more room to slice! Overall a really nice game. Congrats!

Cup Half Full by BangTheWall 2022-04-10T03:52:33Z

Really fun game!! It's a pretty original take on this type of game (what's it called? annoying tetris? hahaha) to move the pieces with the mouse! Also felt like the difficulty was well balanced and the graphics were pleasing to the eyes. My only gripe is it didn't fit my screen (1366x768)! :( Otherwise, had a ton of fun with it!

Influence an Inevitable Election by nessie 2022-04-10T17:30:04Z

This is a very interesting take on the theme and the gameplay is very fun! Here are a few suggestions for improvement, if you plan to rework this post-jam, since I think this game concept has a lot of potential: - Make it possible for us to loop between or re-read the candidates' opinions. They are too easy to forget; - Would also be nice to re-read all of their opinions, not just the ones on the latest topic; - Let us select the comment in the same screen where the tweet is displayed. The way it is, it's easy to forget what the tweet was and there are a few unnecessary clicks to reach the selection screen; If you can, I also think adding some polish like voice acting, animated graphics and button feedbacks would go a long way! And also a few more rounds of influence would be nice!

Giraffe o'Clock by Kepsert 2022-04-06T03:07:31Z

This game has to be one of my favorites so far!! Very witty humor, super cute graphics and great level design, with a well thought out difficulty progression! Great work!!

Over the Rainbow Bridge by Iguanana 2022-04-10T02:43:35Z

Very cute, emotional game. I really love the graphics, music and the well-written story. My only feedback is I would have liked to see more in terms of interactivity and actually be able to delay the inevitable, as I think it would make the experience all the more emotional. It's a sweet little game nonetheless. Congrats on your first ludum dare!!

Male Pattern Boldness by Choo 2022-04-10T15:51:33Z

Super fun and original take on the theme hahaha I really liked all the possible items, the cumbersome-ness of the controls and all the different scenarios!

Only nitpick is, in some levels, the white font of the score is unreadable against the clouds in the background. Otherwise, pretty awesome game, congrats!!

Venting Machine by EmberUshi 2022-04-10T03:07:34Z

1112m! This was a really fun and complete game for 48h! Clever concept, great art and polished mechanics. It took me awhile to understand the controls and also that some girls help me while others get in the way, but once I understood how to play I felt like I could keep playing it forever!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

You've Got Mail! by Sheepolution 2022-10-07T02:24:43Z

One of my favorite games so far on this jam! The idea is so creative, the costumer support mood is spot on, with great art + music to support it (the sound cues for incoming e-maisl were a really nice touch), and the gameplay is so fun and challenging. But what I liked the most were all the funny and geniously inventive details you managed to put in the game. There's just so much flavor, like, the work you put into even things that aren't that noticeable while playing, like the posts in the users' profiles... A few times I just wish I could stop playing to read them all!! Pretty amazing work you did here. The hacker minigame was also reallly nice, and it's details like this that make the game feel so well fleshed-out!!

A few things I disliked were: 1 - The tutorial was a bit confusing once I got things wrong and duplicate e-mails came and then I accidentally started playing before I finished reading the tutorial. 2 - There's not much difficulty progression, so once you figure it out and get used to the e-mails it becomes pretty easy. I almost feel like the game would be even more fun if it didn't fit the theme and the e-mails came progressively faster instead of every 10 seconds heheh.

Button Masher by Pennycook 2022-10-06T04:45:11Z

Very funny take on the theme! kkkkk I kept thinking, how many more ways have you though of to misidrect me from my counting? haha Also, you get points in my book just for having a announcer, that's pretty cool heh

Chicken farm by Hadik 2022-10-06T05:57:25Z

Look, I can't believe you made me murder Eve, Barabara, Sara, Michelle, Brittany Jessica, Danielle, some chiken gals whose name I didn't even have time to read, and even my eldest Lisa who was 7 minutes old!!!! :( :( :( Unfair to give them such cute names when you're gona have to kill them! hahaha But really, this is such a cool idea and the absolutely cutest execution possible. The artwork here is insane, just so beautiful and well done!! And it gets so chaotic so fast LOL I LOVE IT. The little feedback I have to give is: - I could have used explanations on how the buildings work before buying them (maybe a popup). - A soundtrack would have been nice cause no sound kinda kills the mood. But it's a compo game, I get it haha - I would have liked popups to close automatically after I click outside them, otherwise it gets waay to cumbersome to keep closing everything, on top of managing the chickens.

Anyway, absolutely loved this game!!

Shimash by thedashdude 2022-10-06T03:35:05Z

Pretty fun straightforward game and I really like the style of art and sfx!

Come Shell or High Water by ursagames 2022-10-05T22:36:29Z

Very nice game!! The concept is so cute and funny. You got a funny tutorial and everything. Plus, the game has a lot of depth for a game jam game, with the puzzles and everything, and I'm just OBSESSED the music. Great work all around!!

Game Name by Strega 2022-10-05T22:25:36Z

Very neat concept! The art is just wonderful and all the minigames are really fun to play. You perfectly capture the feel of the jam 👌👌 I got a score of #26 in the end (and despite being an artist, the art minigames were the hardest for me LOL)!

Crazy Ball by Lawrence 2022-10-06T05:25:07Z

I can't believe you're really out here thinking "You know what, breakout is too easy. let's make it about a 1000x times harder" hahaha Well, I couldn't for the life of me gest over 50 points, but I had a lot of fun trying! Nice game with a cool take on a classic!

Grandma's Groceries by chelC 2022-10-04T03:03:19Z

Very neat concept, fun gameplay, witty dialogue and absolutely GORGEOUS artwork, full of interesting and funny details!! I've replayed twice already cause I just can't get enough of grandma's social life!! XD I wish it was longer but I feel like you managed the scope perfectly. I also liked how it's forgiving of mistakes cause I couldn't for the life of me find the eggs on my first playthrough, and also kept forgetting the amounts, but the list was there to help me! And the ending just ended me LOL. Your game is a 10/10 for me. Great work!

FLV-51 by landosilva 2022-10-05T23:39:04Z

Really cool game! I think you did an amazing job with the concept and a strong level design to support it. Plus, very satisfying flowy movement, a great soundtrack and artstyle to boot. I was hooked through every loss being really close to a button or door, and didn't lose interest for a second all the way to the end. Amazing work right here!!

Terminal Velocity by mhorth 2022-10-06T04:09:49Z

Very fun and solid game! The mechanics were easy to understand since the design and difficulty progression is very good. I also especially liked the graphics (you really nailed that illusion of speed and made me dizzy with all the twists and turns, which made the game more challenging!), sound (narrated countdown in the end was NIICE) and the real time leaderboard!! I got 6th place but will try for higher later! One thing I found a bit weird is that sometimes when I'm going very fast and cross the red bars, the decrease in speed doesn't compute. But I'm glad it didn't or it would be much much harder haha Also I didn't understand what the flip was for until my third playthrough and kept thinking there was no way to dodge the bars with a hole in the middle.

A Quick Bunny Affair đŸ„• by Vidu 2022-10-06T00:33:46Z

Really fun game with a very cute concept, amazing artwork, chill soundtrack and a lot of humor!! The only things I disliked are the lack of precision while aiming at the pots and that, once you get to a certain point, the bunnies cover the counter, which makes it a lot more difficult for me haha I played quite a few times and didn't manage to go past 48. What's the highscore so far? lol XD Anyway, all around an incredibly engaging and beautiful game!!!

This Date Blows! by crow_seeds 2022-10-07T01:31:34Z

Such a wild idea and a great execution!! I had a ton of fun playing this. The graphics, the narration and the dialogue all contribute perfectly to the mood and humour of the game. I thought I was following everything pretty well and then at one point I looked at the bomb and it wasn't even wires anymore LOL Very nice!!

10-Second Magic Artist by vivyhasadream 2022-10-06T03:28:09Z

Really creative take on the theme and clever use of AI. Quite humorous as well. It was very fun to play and try to figure out how all the different options on the editor (of which there was an impressive amount) would affect the AI understanding of the picture! I could play this for hours although I wish there more prompts cause I got a lot of repeated ones. My favorite one is probably this cool hacker gal 😎

Another LAST 10 seconds by Serxiolas 2022-10-06T04:59:02Z

Gotta say the best part about this are the sounds! haha The breathing really sets the tone and the Idiooooot is just *chef's kiss*

Pandora’s Box [WebGL/Win/Touch] by AJ Studio 2022-10-06T04:55:29Z

Short and sweet little game that was very fun to play! The art is really cute and the level design is very good as well. The mobile version didn't work well for me (sometimes I couldn't jump and choose a direction at the smae time and so I couldn't progress much). But I'm glad I played it on PC beacuase it was really fun. Also very true to the theme Pandora's box cause I felt like everything was out to get me! At onde point I though the life icon falling was gonna kill me as well LOL

Timeslime by asbjorn 2022-10-06T03:42:38Z

Very creative and unique idea and well executed!! It feels super polished. I had a really hard time trying to figure out a viable strategy for this one though and ended up moving either very randomly or almost not at all. But I'll definitely sleep on it and try again haha

Rhythm Loops by nataku92 2022-10-06T04:37:39Z

Very neat idea for a game! The art and sounds are super cute, and suddenly it turns into a rhythm game!! As a non-musician, I had a lot of fun struggling make something half-decent haha The only thing I disliked was your choice of controls cause I think it's a bit hard to press L, ; and ' in rhythm. But maybe it's a problem with different keyboard layouts around the world? Also in the web version in my PC I felt like there was bit of lag in the inputs. But overwall really nice work!

LD54 — Limited Space

Unbelievable Universe by Igor KinGamer 2023-10-04T12:01:31Z

Very entertaining game! The puzzles are well though out, it's the perfect length (though I could see the potential for a longer more developed version) and the little details like the different planet designs give it that extra polish. I cackled at the crazy orbit lol

Guaxinim's Antiques, Rarities & Knick-knacks by ThomasTournoys 2023-10-05T12:19:22Z

Very neat game. I absolutely adore the artwork!! Some feedback would be to give the player a more clear goal, like others already said here, and also to be a little more forgiving of mistakes. Since we can't see the layout of an item before picking it up, it would be nice to be able to drop it and pick up another item/throw away some other things instead of being forced to delete the item. One time I also wasn't able to place a pinecone on an empty slot, wich I think was a bug.

Ominos by OgelGames 2023-10-03T17:53:42Z

This game is the perfect lenght and difficulty progression for the jam. I had a lot of fun and loved everything about it, from the simple artwork to the level design and simple sound effects. Also loved learning about ominos! hehe

SPACE LTD. (The Little Prince) by Vadzim 2023-10-03T17:34:54Z

Cool game idea with great level design and beautiul artwork. The different gravity/psh interactions were very fun to deal with. I found a few bugs: asteroids duplicate when I hit them, sometimes the ship loads in 2 different places if i get stuck on a planet mid-level, and one time I hit the flower but the level didn't end and the ship kept floating. Very nice game overall!

Calves of the Braves by Furano 2023-10-03T16:32:54Z

Really fun game! I like your take on the theme. The sound effects and little details like the crowd closing in or falling down make it extra entertaining.

Setting the Stage by Baconeta 2023-10-04T21:38:36Z

Awesome take on the theme! I had a lot of fun trying to find the ideal combinations for each night. The characters and music all have a lot of personality and the amount of content on the game is impressive on itself. I couldn't get to the end though because of a bug where I couldn't place the instrument in a position that was directly behind another, and, after reloading the page, the game went back to the start :(

What to leave behind? by Owinmowe 2023-10-04T00:05:22Z

Very cozy game with a great atmosphere. Some of the objects' stories were quite mysterious to me, but I suppose that was intended.

Tiny Shelter by rasboy 2023-10-04T22:18:01Z

Lovely game. The art+animation is stunning and the mood is perfect. Someone else said it on a comment and I also think the game would benefit on being a little more challenging, with time limits and difficulty progression... Maybe something with space getting more limited (by the amount of cats growing or the shelter having less room) to emphasize the theme... though that might be a little sad :(

Whiskers in the Dark by Diego Teran 2023-10-04T23:17:16Z

Great concept and a wonderful game, very atmospheric! The level design stands out to me bc it was very challenging and fun with a very satisfying gradual increase in difficulty. By the last level, I gave up completely and just ran through the level lolThe visuals are also stunning, The play with light was executed beautifully!

Troubled Turtles by Aviv Levy 2023-10-04T22:07:02Z

Very fun and challenging game. I love the music and the art!

Give Me BBQ by Surune 2023-10-04T22:44:31Z

Wow, this was very stressfull!! had a lot of fun playing your game XD The art abd mood is great, plus it gets super challenging really fast lol. I was also confused about having to cook the foods on both side, maybe that could be more clear in the instructions?

Glutton-Free by andypang1010 2023-10-04T23:27:01Z

Very fun game!! I both HATE and LOVE this movement mechanic lol The artstyle is also really cool and unique.

Ma|n|dness at shopping by andrei.gusan 2023-10-03T18:02:00Z

Very creative idea and really fun game! I like how there's two (or more?) meanings for limited space XD Just one suggestion, think not allowing infinite trips to the cashier and making it so you have to fit things in the pockets adequatly would make it more challenging!

LD55 — Summoning

Very fun and innovative idea! Great game, as always.

Readybuns by rosypenguin 2024-04-17T16:03:01Z

Pretty cool that you managed to make something even while traveling! The game is simple, but very cute and would be a nice format for increasingly challenging levels hehe

Virtua Bob by MSolomon 2024-04-19T00:48:58Z

This is awesome!!! I absolutely love your take on the theme, the humor, the sound effects, the freaking voice over! And the game is super engaging from start to end. 10/10

Spirit, are you there? by namnam 2024-04-19T14:53:15Z

Very creative and well executed take on the theme!! I really love the art and the mood of this game. The story is short and sweet, though I wish there was more! haha Only nitpick is I wish I could click to continue so I could play with just the mouse. Also, when I tried to put a very long name the dialogue progression became a little broken up. Other than that, perfectly amazing game!"

Split-Decision by ColeSlaughter 2024-04-19T13:13:28Z

Very nice game. The UI especially is so polished and impressive! I really liked the mechanics, although I didn't do very well, but I enjoyed playing either way.

The Klent by sirJupitron 2024-04-19T14:39:22Z

I didn't figure out the last room but I had a great time. The flying mechanic is niice reminds me of flappy bird! lol

The Quackening by BauBau 2024-04-19T15:57:41Z

Absolutely awesome game!! Your take on the theme is very innovative. The art is just wonderful and I really liked the use of shadow to make some paths more visible than other. The game is adequatly challenging too. Took me about 5 tries to get all the ducklings. Great work all over!!

Eye for Mischief by Vyolfers 2024-04-17T14:44:28Z

Absolutely the cutest :3

Zoo Fantastica by Rexagon 2024-04-19T00:39:23Z

Love your stylistic choices here for the visuals. The game is interesting and poses some fun challenges, with increasing difficulty!

Brawlthulu by DasMonitor 2024-04-17T14:39:42Z

Very fun and challenging game! I liked the intro story too!

Necropets by gasgiant 2024-04-21T15:25:07Z

Awesome game! so fun to play. They art is wonderful, mood is great and I love all the combinations of items, pets, and enemies. The game design is very well done and allows for endless possibilities if you want to expand on the game later. only nitpick is it would be nice to have more information on what exactly each item does, as trying to figure it out is a little bothersome and I don't feel adds that much to the experience.

Who Summoned It? by Tyler Law 2024-04-21T17:23:41Z

Great game! It's impressive the ammount of content you managed to create for this jam. I love the story and characters you created and also how the information is so well sprinkled throughout the dialogue options and items, keeping me engaged till the end and for quite a few hours hehe. Art and music here set the mood perfectly. The only confusing thing was having to mark the summoner as a conspirator also in the suspect sheet -- I almost couldn't finish the game if it wasn't for a commenter on itch explaining this. The ending explanation also would be fire as a cutscene instead of just text (although the narration is great!), if you ever wanna polish this further after the jam!

Summon The Waiter by PromZona 2024-04-19T15:11:36Z

Fun take on the theme! These types of freely destroying things are very cathartic haha Love the humor on "gently" spinning cats lol

Poltergeist for Hire by JudJudson 2024-04-19T14:17:52Z

Simples, yet very fun game! I loved the feel of grabbing and throwing things around, and I like that the most random solutions count lik throwing glass into the mixing bowl lol

Master Of The Pit by ecenizo 2024-04-17T16:37:50Z

Really fun game, I had to try a few times to win hehe I really liked the overall mood, all the options and I found the ramp up in difficulty was very stisfying

The Royal Writ by Save Sloth Studios 2024-04-19T16:33:51Z

This is a ridiculously good game. I can't belive you managed to do so much in such a short time. For starters, I love your take on the theme, and love the genre of game you picked -- deckbuilding battlles is one of my favorites. The art is 10/10 and so cohesive. The music is also incredible and sets the mood so well. I loved the storytelling theme and the overarching story -- a powerfully direct retelling of the paranoid monarch trope. The card designs are also great both in mechanics and humor -- I felt for the dead twin. Anyway, it's all 5 stars for me!

Pictomancer by RobLaro 2024-04-19T11:41:51Z

This game instantly caught my eye for it's beautiful artstyle and how polished it is! I love your take on the theme and had a lot of fun playing the game. I also really like the difficulty progression and the SFX. Only thing is I felt it was to hard to play with a mouse, and I thought it would be perfect to play with drawing tablet! However, the game didn't register my tablet :(

Ribbit Craft by Kerioth 2024-04-19T11:19:27Z

Gorgeous game! The art is absolutely next level, the attention to detail is evident and I love all the frog designs. However, as some people have pointed out above, the game gets a bit repetitive and it would be bnice to have a clearer rhyme or reason for the indridients that go into making each frog, and maybe an ending! Overall, great work!.

Creature Conjurers by Tao Yuanyue 2024-04-19T12:07:47Z

Very cool game!! I love all the items and the fun descriptions. Art and sound is great. I can't belive there is a viable combo for every pair of items!!!

Ancestor Rain by ELLISBUG 2024-04-19T01:15:32Z

Very cute idea and nice execution! The fire animation is fire :fire: :fire:

Literally me by TPace 2024-04-19T13:41:37Z

Wow, this is such a cool, immersive and poetic experience. It's very impressive that you managed to make something very cohesive and yet so freeform. The poems are really nice, I kept thinking they tied into some story with the scenery, but if they do I didn't figure it out. The restrictions on creation are very interesting, they really made me think about what I was writing and how I was writing it. I do agree the UX deserved a bit more thought, maybe tying it into the experience a bit more, instead of a separate screen witha bunch of information could be a next step to make it even more immersive, as well as adding some audio might be nice. Overall, congrats on pulling off such a cool concept that's both technically and artistically challenging.

Exorcist Pianist by Aviv Levy 2024-04-19T15:18:53Z

Very neat concept and execution. I like how the melodies make sense. I had a lot of fun playing.

Duck Spawner by Myse 2024-04-19T14:32:00Z

Extra cute!!! Love the SFX too

Summon Cats by tinyfinn 2024-04-19T14:33:25Z

Very simples and charming game!! I love the art and good feel of the game. Putting the credits on the items was a clever ideia!

Eyes On-Myoji by Cloverplus1697 2024-04-17T16:15:10Z

Neat game! The art and music are top tier!! It took me a while to figure out how things worked, but once I did it was pretty fun. I really like you take on the theme (like the backstage of summoners lol). However, I feel like the game would benefit from the difficulty increasing more regularlly (although the gems moving makes it slightly more challenging, it's only momentarily and not consistently).

LD57 — Depths

Captain Peggles: That Man's Chest by Sheepolution 2025-04-09T14:18:59Z

Very fun and bold idea! I love assynchronous multiplayers and drawing games! And you infused it with such humor with the pirate feud. The menu screen parallax is amazing. Well done!

Down by Skyeward 2025-04-14T04:48:19Z

Very fun game with a humorous story. I love all the clever references you made, you are the coolest! Also loved all the cute art. My only nitpick is that the moving text is hard to read. Otherwise, awesome game!

Break The Tower by torcado 2025-04-10T17:34:46Z

Wow! Incredible how much you were able to do in such a short time! I love games with twists and this game just kept turning up with more. I was not expeting them at the start and they really blew me away. The simple mechanic of the game was challenging but still fun to play, with each new skill acquired really contributing to the experience. I find the ending quite ironic and fitting with the theme, given that [spoilers] the whole time we were trying to climb higher and the answer was right below us (in the depths lol). Amazing work!

I also made a game about a ball (egg) with dash power for this jam! However, our ball (egg) dashes downwards haha

Depth of Field by Gao Ming 2025-04-13T18:53:37Z

Very cool game! During my tem's brainstorming, we thought of doing something with Depth of Field, but couldn't figure out how to turn it into a fun game mechanic. I think you suceeded in doing so by coupling it simple controls, a charming story and very nice artwork! I could see this being expanded into more difficult puzzles and intricate stories as well!

Mirror City by vidarn 2025-04-14T05:25:26Z

Although I don't really see the theme "depths" so clearly in this game concept, I love the idea you went with here. This is a very innovative kind of puzzle, I don't think I've seen others like it. And you really made it work with such amazing art, great level design with intuitive gameplay, a dark, while mysterious story, behind it and a very polished finish.

I will suggest just one small improvement: I didn't understand at first that the tile requirements only had to be filled when placing them... I though the final placement had to fulfill all tile requirements simultaneously, so I was stuck for a long time on puzzle 2 and had to use the hints (thanks for those). Might be nice to think of a way of explaining this more clearly.

The Void by Iluvatar 2025-04-14T04:33:41Z

First of all, AMAZING artwork and impeccable sound design. They set the mood perfectly. I love the monster sounds! Secondly, you created a very interesting, engaging and straightforward story. It was perfectly timed, without overstaying it's welcome, and well intercalated with interactive elements to keep the player engaged. Overall great work!

The Case of the Dungeon Descent by celia14 2025-04-15T18:29:34Z

Had a lot of fun playing this, trying to piece the story in chronological order in my mind. I really like the puzzle mechanic of finding the right combination of clues to scry the scenes, feels pretty original to me. The art in the game is also gorgeous, it's impressive that you were able to illustrate so many scenes and I appreciate the color conding! The story is engaging and has very satisfying reveals when everything starts being tied together.

Clock In by leparlon 2025-04-12T16:25:15Z

I left this game feeling bleak and empty inside... I think you did an AMAZING job setting up the mood of a dystopia and of the loss of control, from the straightforward muted art to the robotic sounds and the streamlined gameplay where gradually you have nothing to do, you being there just doesn't make any difference and the game keeps going... Very interesting game.

Dungeon Cartographer by finntastico 2025-04-08T19:49:57Z

Very cool and unique concept for this theme! I had a lot of fun exploring and drawing my map. If you plan to expand on this game, I would suggest some quality of life improvements, like adjusting pencil and eraser size, keyboard shortcuts for the tools, support for drawing tablets (mine didn't let me lift the pen), ability to rotate the map, having the torch and map not be so in the center of the camera, so the player has better visibility, etc. I could see this concept being expanded into more difficult levels, like with secret entrances or rooms that change place, maybe a deeper backstory to the dungeon that you discover through the map! Overall awesome game!

The Well by sbeif 2025-04-11T23:05:15Z

Really cool idea and great execution. We had a similar idea during our brainstorming (the player would loose the senses as they went deeper, until they ended in complete darkness), but thought it would be too difficult to make, so we went in a different direction entirely haha. But it's cool to see that that idea was made and in such a cool way!

The voice acting and sound design are on point here. Love the monster sounds and how they get louder! Very scary!

I'm curious... Did you actually design a physical level and just made it dark? Or are the events that create the sounds randomly generated?

Either way, awesome game!

Dirty Little Secrets by winniehell 2025-04-14T22:55:15Z

Pretty cool game full of nice details. I liked that the depth of the artifact was tied to it's moment in history and that you added educational plaques on the museum scenes. The conversations wih the boss were funny. The game loop was simple but fun and the upgrades were interesting and well balanced. A few things I didn't like: not having prices on the shop and also the late game got pretty tedious, just grinding for that last artifact over and over again.

Shleep by Rongo Matane 2025-04-14T15:21:44Z

An idle game with an underlying narrative, changing rules and real life scenes intertwined? What? This is probably one of the most innovative games I've played this jam. Also, pretty relatable how the main character just overcomplicates things so much LOL

Special shoutout to the artist. The little sheep and dogs are so cuteeee.

The Cleaner of the depth by Egor Iv 2025-04-12T13:33:40Z

First of all, what a charming entry! The art and sounf design and the camera work, are all very professional! The idea is simple and fun. I loved the detail of the "eat" with the menu letters falling.

My only feedback would be to make it clearer when we've reached a bath tooth, maybe adding visual cues as well as sounds, sand make the sound cue more distinguishable. As it is, the game is too hard to play, so I couldn't advance much.

Drill-Off by Antti Haavikko 2025-04-15T23:53:53Z

That's a very original idea, to mix a puzle about mixing colors with each colors having a drilling power + also getting more powers and modifiers as you go. Felt very fresh to me. I can't say I've really figured out the game, since it seems to fulfill the challenges you can't focus on only one color, but at the same time I wasn't able to go very deep by keeping it balanced... But clearly there's a strategy that works, since you got some high scores on that leaderboard! And I had a lot of fun playing anyway + The visuals and music are very well done, the game overall is very polished!

Hadal by ColeSlaughter 2025-04-13T13:28:18Z

Buoyancy is such a cool and innovative mechanic! I had a hard time mastering at a first but the difficulty progression throughout the game was very well designed and helped me learn gradually with the challenges posed. A smooth difficulty progression is a rare thing to see in jams! Furthermore, I love the water visuals and the score. They really get you in the mood for this upwards adventure!

Hollowspire by simex 2025-04-13T21:52:12Z

First of all, I'd like to say that the terrain art and VFX here are just STUNNING. Coupled with the relazing and immersive sound design, it makes for a very satisfying and addicting experience mining the blocks.

As for the gameplay, one thing that frustrated me quite a bit is that my expectation for these types of games is to quickly start automating the processes and not having to click as much (only if I want to). However, for this game, that didn't happen. I felt like no matter what I did the miners were kind of useless and took forever to break a block. Even the auto attack was very inneficient compared to just clicking. Also, money and some of the resources took to much effort to go up - there wasn't much to do apart from clicking the blocks for a long time. Playing through some ascencions, this got a bit better but I was never able to fully automate and feel like the owner of an empire muahaha. So my feedback would be to balance it out so there's a bit more automationg since earlier in the game, or at least less of an imbalance between the automated options and just clicking (clicking is way too OP).

Pack by Jeremy Ryan 2025-04-10T18:10:10Z

Impressively detailed work for compo, from the artwork, to the sound design and the gameplay, everything ties together very well. Thank you for this awesome cute experience <3

Scrab the Scrabbler by schadocalex 2025-04-15T18:32:38Z

Pretty cool genre mix you got here! The letters on top of sea animals are adorable!! The bonuses and onuses are clever and well though out. The only thing that bugged me a bit was having to worry about the oxygen running out, cause I think in these types of word games and also card games where you have to calculate your options based on how many points you will get, it's nice to be able to take your time and think of a strategy. I don't think the time pressure is a good addition to this experience.

Down Wheel by neowhoru 2025-04-15T04:49:48Z

Although these game mechanics aren't the most innovative, the inclusion of a wheelchair user as the mc is pretty cool! And the level design is also very well done! Had fun playing, though I wasn't able to get past the narrow corridor with spikes, I suspect near the end.

What Lurks Below by dxk2294 2025-04-16T17:03:44Z

It's not easy to balance an idle game in a jam - I know because I've tried and also I've played many poorly balanced clickers in jams. But I think you did a really good job here. Although it gets a little fast by the end, the entire gameplay remains fun and engaging till the end, especially since you've managed to create a really nice atmosphere and story to go with it. Plus, graphics and audio are also top tier.

A fez nitpicks: there really should be an end to situla!! Otherwise I feel like I missed some awesome plot twist by not sticking at upgrading it. Also, the controls explanation at the beginning is a bit confusing, especially for the collectors. What does the round backwards arrow mean? Other than that the UI is very nice!

Moldwasher by Rubel_NMB 2025-04-15T04:39:57Z

Very cool idea and really cool mold growing effect! I do think if fits the theme, after all the foods that go moldy are the ones you forget in the depths of your refrigerator heheh

Coin Grind by jester1454 2025-04-14T01:47:02Z

Pretty cool game. I liked the weapons provided as well as the challenges posed. I think the difficulty progression through the levels was pretty smooth. The sounds effects are also very cool and well placed, I liked the enemy sounds heheh. As others have said, it's not intuitive from the get go that the squares and triangles are enemies, though you find out quick enough!

Chthonic Cacophony by PureGarlic 2025-04-15T02:28:34Z

Very original take on the theme! I love the psychodelic vibes you went for with the visuals and audio. My brain is in a knot now after reading and trying to memorise so many big words XD

Jellylight by Steven Garberg 2025-04-12T16:51:06Z

A simple but very cute and entertaining game! You managed to feature a nice variety of sea life artwork into the game, making the environment feel very alive. I liked that the game was very forgiving, with the fish not killing you and beign able to go back up, which you usually don't see in games of this genre, making for a casual and relaxing experience.

DESCEND with CAUTION by LightningST 2025-04-13T18:28:19Z

Very clever design how you make the character be harmed by fall but also nee inertia to jump far enough, forcing the player to find the perfect balance between descending with caution and going fast hehe. The game is fun to play, with good controls, the difficulty progression is great and the art and sound design help tie it all together. Overall really nice entry.

Granny's Gotcha by Joscco 2025-04-08T20:58:05Z

Absolutely loved this game! The artstyle and writing are so well done and so full of humor! The gameplay is very fluid, easy to grasp and the level design provides for a smooth difficulty progression. I loved granny's little remarks about the random items in her purse and her absolute confidence that the kid's serious issues could be sorted with candy <3

Diggin' Deeper by gquibao 2025-04-12T14:30:38Z

Simple, yet very effective and fun idea! The little bearded dwarf with a jetpack is really cool XD

Holy Moly! by Thomas_Bringer 2025-04-14T21:24:37Z

Fun game with pretty art and pleasing music. The movement and controls were very smooth and satisfying on the controller. However, I found it a bit too easy to beat. The farmers were'nt able to fire on my character even once, since sneaking up close behind them and shoveling them was a breeze. Would love to see a longer and more challenging version of the game! Maybe if the farmers had a way to attack the moles even when they were underground or if the moles had to complete certain goals on land that made them vulnerable?

A New Hell by Kaish 2025-04-13T13:40:08Z

Dyamid by leorean 2025-04-14T19:30:32Z

A very innovative mechanic coupled with great puzzle design, a cool story, great graphics and great music. Plus a very polished entry, with tutorials along the game that teach you your capabilities gradually. Had a lot of fun playing this one!

Dig Digger by Transkuja 2025-04-15T00:05:11Z

Really really fun game!! I like how it has rhythm game elements with the music syncing so well with the movements. The gameplay is very satisfying, especially the speed up from breaking the rocks, ehich also makes it quite challenging and fun to master. But my favorite part is how you absolutely juiced!! up!!! every bit of it!!!! From the screen shake to the speed bar getting crazy, to the gems falling on the side, to the sound effects, to the freaking DIGGERboard. This is an absolute 5 stars in mood for me, cause everything just gets you super pumped to dig with the music!!! Awesome work!

Fishing the Depths by zerocomms 2025-04-09T14:37:23Z

Simple yet fun game! Impressive that you could pull this off with so little time. I liked the little SFX when you throw the line XD I would have preferred the fish to be attracted a little faster to the bait, although maybe that's a personal issue I have with fishing in general XD

Leap of Faith by Kyrios 2025-04-12T14:40:43Z

Very cool entry! The art is incredible (I love the effect of the clouds dispersing), the sound designis also impeccable (I get really hyped when the music ramps up just as the text says "can you hear the rumble below?" heheh) I wasn't able to get to the end cause I always die at the 3rd level, but I will keep trying later! A suggestion: maybe add a savepoint after each level so we can keep practicing just the parts we're having difficulty with, otherwise it gets a bit too repetititve, sicne the levels are fixed.

Cheese is the Reason by AXLplosion 2025-04-14T20:22:16Z

Gotta love the absurd vibe of such a noir setting + the rats, rat jokes and funny names... The names are probably my favorite lol You really nailed the vibes here with great art, awesome narration and great writing that makes fun of all the tropes in the genre as well! Only thing that bugged me a bit is that the character always goes on a straight line to where I click, so sometimes he would get stuck. Otherwise, great game!

Depth Self - A narrative game by Flokami 2025-04-15T06:09:11Z

I was really looking forward to playing your game, since the concept is so cool! However sadly it keeps crashing on my notebook, making the game unplayable :'') If I use 2 screens (my normal setup), it crashes as soon as it loads, if I use 1 screen, it crashes once I open the image files. From what I've seen in the comments, this seems to be quite a rare problem, but you were asking for specs in order to look into it, so... In my case, I'm on Asus Vivobook K6502HC, Windows 11 Home, Intel Processor i9-11900H, 16GB RAM, DirectX 12, GPU Intel UHD integrated 8GB + NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 4GB, 1920 x 1080 resolution. I'd be happy to send any other necessary specs here or via e-mail, just tell me which ones you need heheh

If you have any tips on how to work around this or if you release a version with a fix, I'd love to come back to play and rate!

Unearth by Milestone Games 2025-04-13T15:03:01Z

Very interesting idea and cool game, with beautiful art to accompany it. However, I found that the gameplay itself was a little difficult to understand. After playing for quite a while, I wasn't able to figure out some major aspects of the game, like, I don't undertand what exactly makes a rock fall or not, I don't understand the difference between the tiers of bugs, I don't get why sometimes they go where I tell them to and sometimes they don't. Also my collector bugs kept bugging out (lol) and not going anywhere, and I'm not sure if that's on account of something I did or a bug. In that way, I couldn't get to a really strategic gameplay in the end, and felt like I was just bruteforcing my way through the rocks. I think your game has quite a few complex mechanics that are difficult to grasp, and if you work to make the learning curve of the game a little less steep (ie. introducing new bug tiers more gradually and making them more distinct, making the initial digging area smaller or adding explicit explanation or visual feedback when the rocks fall, something like that), it has a lot of potential!

Grimm Syndrome by Missfire 2025-04-16T17:45:07Z

Very nice take on the theme, with an interesting and profound story and a lot of beautiful art to go with it! The rhythm minigame I think needs a bit more balancing, since it starts too easy then becomes quite hard suddenly. Also I had a bit of a hard time reading the criticizing ghosts when I was trying to focus on not getting the rest wrong. The organizing minigame was really fun, with all the little different types of puzzles!

Super Pyonpon by Saturnyoshi 2025-04-14T23:17:39Z

This is such a high quality game! Very very polished, with stunning art, extremely fun to play, with a cool original mechanic and clever level design, attention to details on everything, from the animation to the menu options, and on top of that you were able to make sooo many levels! It really was a delight to find this game!

Listen to Me! - Multiplayer co-op (2 players) by Notredamstra 2025-04-09T14:23:33Z

Very cool concept! I love multiplayer games focused on communication. I think if you plan on expanding on this, it would be nice to make it a little more challenging, like maybe put a time limit on the deliveries and other types of obstacles on the way. For some reason, when my friend hosted, he kept crashing and dying in flames, but when I was hosting, I could hit anything and never died haha

Dwingles by Pomo 2025-04-13T13:44:06Z

One of the more creative takes on the theme I've seen! While a simple game in it's mechanics, this is very fun to play (especially with the leaderboard, kudos for that) and also very very polished. The graphics and the absurd sound effects totally do it for me lolol

Antz vs Plantz by Blue Pin Studio 2025-04-14T20:01:18Z

Very well designed and fun game! I like the funny trees and the variety in enemy and plant designs that you featured! I managed to get to 983 points, however I feel like once the big ants come it becomes waaay to difficult very suddenly. Also, I felt like after a certain point the levels started being unlocked way faster than I could get money to fill them up with plants. I'm not sure if this is a balancing issue or a skill issue on my part, I'll leave that for you to decide XD

Well Gnome! by Delunado 2025-04-09T15:35:20Z

Amazingly chaotic game!! This was a lot of fun to play. I was getting pissed of at the start with the painfuly slow mouse movement, but thank god there was an upgrade for that XD. The art is on point, my favorite part was the rainbow behind the gnomes. I also loved the humorous upgrades. You really did an amazing job with this one!

A Final Deed by 0X_VOID_X0 2025-04-13T15:17:56Z

I expected to be very bad at this game since I don't know how to type correctly but I found that the gameplay is actually very forgiving. I like that the timer starts only after you press the first key, so I had time to plan my moves. Even then, it was still challenging. The art is beautiful and the sound design with the notes going up as the the letters are played is a very nice touch. The gradual introduction of new types of challenges is also very fun.

Keep Hopping by Halogen 2025-04-11T14:59:38Z

The ideia is interesting and the art is very cute, however, as others have said, there's not much of a challenge. I would suggest instead of ellongating the platforms, keep them at 1 tile and just move them to the spot the players has pressed... That way there is no way to cheat! hehe

Weakness Deep Within by Delphin Casado 2025-04-16T15:48:46Z

You crated a very rich and intriguing universe here, with interesting character designs and a very well written story, accompanied by great art and music. The game mechanics are also quite innovative, I liked having different options of how to attack / interact with the enemies and the idea of finding their hidden weakness, although for the existing enemies I felt like every option was very obviously a lot worse than just going for the weakness, so I would love to see more nuance and variety there if you plan to expand this into a longer game!

Hole Punch by Michael Parrish 2025-04-13T18:56:57Z

Simple and straighforward yet very fun and creative game! Visuals and sound do a great job at creaing tension while you type heheh

Descent by MorePixels 2025-04-14T22:11:30Z

Very fun! I really liked the multipurpose umbrella mechaninc... It works to break your fall, to attack, to jump higher! Is there anything it doesn't do?? The level designs were also very fun. There are so many different ones! The cute art and music really put you in the mood for the game!

Dark Ness by Soul Grinder 2025-04-14T21:54:34Z

Cool game! You did a great job building the environment and ambiance with the 3D art and the great ambient sounds. The minigames were well made and I had a lot of fun spotting Nessie though I can't believe she was a red herring! Good thing you mentioned the title screen in the credits, otherwise I would have missed it, and what a masterpiece, such great camerawork!

Burrilka by echerry 2025-04-16T19:29:38Z

Very fun game with beautiful art! I like the progression with the different models being added gradually!

Painball by AmberFall92 2025-04-17T19:21:46Z

Very original idea and really fun to play! The humour is spot on! I accidentally broke the game by changing a canon to a saw while the human was inside.

God Veins by dagon 2025-04-14T21:06:52Z

Deep Fry by thyoi 2025-04-11T23:36:47Z

This is the most innovative take on the theme I've seen so far (with the triple sense of depth in deep fry, going deeper into customers orders, and the multiple depths of mashing up and frying lol)! And also a great twist on the genre (which I already love). The boss fights were amazing... The art is so dang cute!!! The humour is on point and, as others have said, it's impressive how much you've managed to polish the game in such a short time. An almost all five stars for me!!

Ludum Dare 57 Depth Of A Phrase by Beebster Games 2025-04-15T03:51:10Z

Had a blast playing this game! Honestly, I've been playing LD games all day, so many platformers and idle games and tower defenses and quick time skill games... My head was so full and your word puzzle although pretty challenging, helped me relax a bit in the middle of all that! XD Here's my high score:

VvXBIdDfRC.png

It's funny... Some of these phrases I could visualize very intuitively, while others were very very hard to find.

I liked the hints, they were very helpful. Also the simple design of turning blue when you click and turning green when you get it right was very nice. Oh, and the title screen is pretty cool!

My only few feedbacks would be: - The colors are a bit harsh, I would suggest making the color palette a little softer on the eyes. In fact, this is a game with great potential to be juiced up quite a bit if you want to do that later. Background illustrations that match the phrases maybe? That would be cool - The rules could be a bit more clear, concise and integrated into the gameplay... Maybe make a tutorial level? As it is, there's a lot of text in the rules, making it easy to miss important info. For instance, I almost missed the information that the phrase always contain the word DEPTH at first. Since this is the player's anchor to start finding the phrase, I feel like it should be the front and center. Also, I didn't see it explicitely said anywhere that the words could never be diagonally, so I was always thinking that was a possibility.

But these are just nitpicks and obviously things there is little time to think about during a jam! So anyway congrats and thank for a delightful puzzle game!

O.R.B.I.T. by robin_schmitz 2025-04-15T00:43:53Z

Although the orbiting concept has been done before quite a few times, I think you put a nice twist on it with the controls being clicking the planets themselves, and I found the gameplay very relaxing with the game being quite forgiving (I thought for sure I would die if I crashed on the planets), and the beautiful graphics + subtle score to accompany the journey.

Crabs in a Bucket by busisen 2025-04-12T16:34:53Z

Very cool game! I don't think I've ever seen a similar mechanic to "jump and you go deeper" hehe. It felt very fresh to me and posed a good challenge, coupled with the obstacles in the terrain and the shop. The art and sound are also great and contribute to the tense but whimisical feel of the game.

Pogo Dwarf by NTMalichi 2025-04-12T15:44:27Z

Very cool and innovative idea! I like how you mashed a very commonplace ideia for the theme (mines) with a totally unexpected element (the pogo stick) haha. And the pogo stick mechanic in itself is very unique and something I've never seen in any other game... It makes for a very very very challenging and sometimes infuriating game experience haha I'm not good at these types of hard skill based games cause they get me a bit too stressed out :'') so I wasn't able to get too far, but as far as I could see it seems like you made the most of that mechanic with the level design, playing with different platform and roof heights, also horizontal distances, it seemed like a new challenge was always being introduced. So congrats on that! Also, maybe after I calm down a bit I'll try again to see how you evolved these challenges in higher levels XD

Icebreakers! by npckc 2025-04-15T04:12:27Z

What a delightful little adventure! This is one of the more original takes on the jam theme I've seen so far. Such a cool idea, to use the ice breaking as a way to represent depth of relationships and then set it into a frozen environment and then make such a nice and engaging story about friendship and being polite and hepful to people out of it, with beautiful art to accompany it!

My only nitpick is I think it's a crime how you missed the opportunity to make more icebreaker / superfluous dialogue jokes!! Like, not a single how's the weather? (Although the offer fish has it's own merit!)

But other then that, 10/10 heheh

You Are the End by AgrMayank 2025-04-15T02:01:20Z

Cool interpretation of the theme and very engaging strategic game! The mood is set perfectly with the beautiful graphics and music. I played until near the end, however, it wasn't always clear to me why a run ended sometimes even before all my units were dead and, on the last run, when I spawned the king, I was a little afraid to advance and get the king dead, so I waited a bit and suddenly the run ended, the game showed my prophecy and then I was taken back to the choose card page, but this time with no info on the cards, so I wasn't sure if this is the ending ?

Rapid Eye Microgames by Tetracold 2025-04-13T13:17:51Z

A very cool game all around, from the pun in the name to the very original and expressive artstyle, to all the differente minigame designs. The art is what caught my eye at first but I loved finding and beating the different minigames. Although most of them were pretty difficult at first, since they are so quick, it was easy to jut keep playing again and again until I got pretty good hehe

The Deepest Descent by ssiannas 2025-04-13T16:14:44Z

Very cool game! The intro + scream + change in music was superb haha The gameplay is simple but engaging and the ramp up in speed is nice. I managed to get to about 300 in score. Cool that you added a leaderboard!

Endless Depth by Dywanix 2025-04-13T15:42:46Z

Straightforward game very well executed. I like the camera movements and how you're throw right back into action quickly. The artstyle is great! All the different level designs work very well and the different challenges are interesting (i especially like that you can go outside the map but you drown after a while, that's a cool twist!).

BURIED by meylish 2025-04-13T19:03:28Z

Great job creating the atmosphere with the ambient sounds, beautiful art and quick time event! Really creates an emotional response on the player. As some of the others have said, I found the controls a bit hard to navigate, but still though the game was plenty of fun!

Stolen Heart by LyaMgtt 2025-04-09T15:09:43Z

The artwork on this game is absolutely stunning, that's what really caught my eye! The amount of quality art you were able to make in the jam time is really impressive. The gameplay is also solid and entertaining, though I think the difficulty jump from the other enemies to the dragon is a bit extreme. I see other people have commented about the lack of sound and feedback animations for the enemy attacks and health situation... I would love to play this again once you've added some of those, since I think that would really tie everything together.

Home is where hell is by Anderson Job Loeffler 2025-04-14T16:49:37Z

Descend by Placeholders 2025-04-14T01:28:01Z

What a... curious experience.

You nailed the atmosphere with the glowing graphics and the sound design, sometimes unsettling, sometimes so ethereal.

A Well to Wonderland by Mathieu Chougui 2025-04-14T14:41:18Z

into the forest depths by Fliegen 2025-04-14T16:20:48Z

Great art and fun story, though I wasn't able to get very far. The combat is a little to hard and I woul've liked checkpoints, like some of the others have said! I loved the variations of gnomes lol

Esca - Ludum Dare 57 by bakuzen 2025-04-14T15:31:11Z

Very pretty, short and relaxing game, with very cute art. Although the ontrols are a bit counterintuitive at first, they're simple enough to understand and I think it's a quite an interesting innovation to have the character be pushed by the mouse instead of follow it. Congrats on doing it all on your own!

Depths Of The Sleep by Gustavo Henrique de Moraes 2025-04-11T22:50:16Z

Awakening by Celian 2025-04-08T18:22:12Z

Very cool interpretation of the theme. I had to play on itch since the LD web version is not loading. I really liked the mood, visuals and sound design of the game. I think the difficulty progression could be a little bit more gradual and there could be more explanations in game, since it becomes complex right after the first shot, which can be a bit overwhelming. But after reading the instructions and comments here I had a great time playing!

. by protzz 2025-04-12T13:10:02Z

Very cool entry and impressive for compo! Although it's very reminiscent of your inspirations (Inscryption and Balatro), I think you were able to put a nice spin on it with the 3 separate challenges. It was very fun to try and create the combos card by card, working within the 3 cards hand limit and the 27 cards deck limit.

As with all the other card games I've played this jam, I think the only thing lacking on the game is greater attention to UX and user feedbacks. Things like: the card dragging didn't work for me and some of the other controls and screen movement were irritating at times, not being able to see your coins in the shop, rules that are too complicated having to be read all at once instead of organically explained along the game, lack of visual explanations for the combos, etc. But it's understandable for the jam time, just some feedback in case you plan to keep working on the game!

Overall, what really stands out is the mood and atmosphere of the game, with art and visual effects that really complement it, great sound design and, once you understand it, a very engaging gameplay! Congrats!

Doctrines - LD57 Game by Riggen 2025-04-15T23:16:25Z

Fun game with nice balance, cool enemy designs and great art! A few nitpicks are that the font on the cards is not very legible and that I wish there were number labels on the health and madness bar, so that I could better compare the % versus value effects.

Dwarf Descent by platonenko 2025-04-13T14:22:34Z

Fun game! I found it pretty challenging at every step... From the light going out pretty fast to the enemies falling right on top pf me. The art is very pretty and the diminishing spotlight really helps to set the tone. One small nitpick I have is with the controls. I really wish jumping was W instead of SPACE, since we're using A and D to move, and maybe activating the elevator could be the same key as well, for simplicity, since we don't seem to need to activate and jump at the same time.

What the bag! by Mamboman 2025-04-15T17:42:09Z

Very cute and fun idea! I liked the additional challenges. I wish there were more levels!

Abimes by Kessel Nebula 2025-04-12T15:20:34Z

It's rare to see a team with so many more artists than programmers, and it really shows in the end result! This game is truly a piece of art, with the beautiful environments, animals and character animations, plus the impeccable sound design that is so peaceful up until it gets you stressed out to run away from the shark haha. As for the gameplay, it's simples, yet fun and engaging. I like how it doesn't punish you too much for dying... You respawn just a bit behind. I would've liked it to be a bit longer, but it's understandable to keep the scope smaller for the jam. Overall, amazing work!

Devour by ScoobySnacks 2025-04-13T16:23:41Z

Pretty innovative take on the theme, I haven't seen others like it. Plus the art and audio really help set the mood. Only nitpick is that for a long time I though I couldn't touch the spikes from the sides even when retracting the tongue, which wasted me a lot of tme, so maybe their visuals could be adapted to better indicate that or touching them could be made inevitable sooner so the player has to learn this right at the beginning!

Luck Runs Out by Tenzz 2025-04-12T14:04:06Z

What a beautiful and relatable message! I really liked the theme of going back and looking at things from a new perspective.

Although the game works just fine as just rolling right/left and reading the story, If you want to improve further on it, I would suggest you consider adding a few more interactive elements that support the central message, like maybe the character being able to fly when it says fly, or other forms of interacting with the visual stories shown. Some great references for this kind of thing are Florence and Everyday the same dream, where the gameplay elements aren't challenging at all, but they help interactively illustrate the point of the story (and give the player a bit more to do hehe)!

Ad Light by jtap 2025-04-13T15:30:28Z

Short and sweet game with a fun gameplay and a nice mood! Clicking got a bit repetitive, I think this idea might work a little better if the fish just followed the cursor.

It's madness, my dudes by Keys Presser 2025-04-13T13:53:22Z

Such a cool and polished game! The art is so beautiful and the artstyle very unique, that's what originally caught my attention. I love the theme of frogs! hehe The gameplay is also very inventive with the hooks, although the controls with long pressing the keys are a bit counterintuitive on the keyboard and can be a little infuriating sometimes. Maybe a feedback of "charging up" when you keep a key pressed could help with this? Overall, very fun game to play!

North Depths by voidsrc 2025-04-15T00:27:21Z

The game is very polished, with great art, sound design and an overall very nice atsmosphere. However, as otehrs have said, the balancing is a bit off. I would've liked a cheaper way to automate ore collection earlier in the game. I feel like ore collection should be automated kind of in parallel to ice collection, otherwise it's too much repetitive clicking earlier in the game. Otherwise, a very impressive submission!

GRAFFITI TOWER by VertSight 2025-04-11T20:01:05Z

Very fun to play! Ypour character is very charismatic and the music rally put in the mood to keep smashing paint against those guards hehe My only feedback is I wish it would have more increase in difficulty along the game.

To The Core by izzqz 2025-04-13T16:27:10Z

As a fellow developer of a single control game, I like the limitations you added here! hehe Very fun game overall to play and I love the humour of the character sitting on a little office chair lol

SKYLINE EXCAVATOR by swordguy47 2025-04-16T20:41:27Z

Fun gameplay and well done design, you did a good job with increasing difficulty and introducing new challenges the higher the player gets. The ball turning into a drill is also really cool! I managed to go up to 115957pts!

Depth of Moments by Lev Ramburg 2025-04-09T16:09:39Z

Really like your interpretation of the theme! The game was very atmospheric and beautiful to play. The art is amazing. I think with time to fix the bugs (backpack) and add a little more content (more sounds, and ending scene, etc), this has a lot of potential!. Great work!

Cosmic Strain by Grigorii 2025-04-14T05:55:49Z

Although I don't see the theme too srongly on this one, and I had some difficulty understanding how to play at first, after I got the hang of the game, I had a lot of fun playing. I think you were indeed able to get that blend of strategy and action you talked about. I wasn't able to beat the game, but I had a lot of fun trying to plot the best course to expand my colonies before the planets were taken. I think you have some very innovative ideas, and also cool score on this game. It's impressive how much you've made given the technical constraints. If you plan on expanding it later, focus on making it more polished and teach the objectives and controls within the game and you have a very awesome and pretty inventive game in your hands.

TellyBuddy by ColeSlaughter 2026-04-21T17:21:44Z

Awesome game. The mood was on point. The graphics are very well done. I had a hard time at the begining understanding the control to rotate and later getting the times right, but oyther than that what a great experience!

Cadence of Glob by Orjan 2026-04-21T18:48:52Z

Very nice entry!! I was really drawn in by the artstyle but also adored the sound design, lovely story and balanced difficulty progression. Really well rounded game for a jam, congrats!

Fire Support Survivors by Zamizmi 2026-04-21T17:31:26Z

Very clever application of the theme! I like how the game splits your attention between drawing the signals and navigating the map. Great level design!
