Make false games great again!
It would be nice if the exclamation marks could stick there and not fade. That way you don't need to remember all of them. ;-)
A funny game! But I was to bad for this game... XD
I would have played if Linux / Mac version was available. Any chance to still get it ported?
Awesome, thank you, that was necessary! :-)
I would have played if there was a Linux / Mac OS / Web version available.
The game looks fun from the video above and after @blinry recommended it on Twitter I wanted to play... but... it doesn't run on my (admittedly 7 year old) hardware. :-(
I would have played if there was a Linux / Mac OS / Web version available.
Very fun game! :-)
the scream at the end :D
@lyon Thank you for playing our game! :-)
The black bar is the "punch power". If you make too many punches/pushes, you run out of power and need to wait for it to regenerate.
The hitboxes are circles... yep... ;-)
Thank you for this very nice entry! :-)
Interesting game, great graphics and cute hamsters! :-)
The gameplay was a bit difficult and after some round repetitive (did I miss anything?).
Very good game! The graphics are amazing! :)
Nice game, the controls were very touch for me though. ;-)
I really enjoyed the game, well done – especially in that amount of time. :-)
Also thank you for opting out of the graphics category!
Interesting concept / realization of the theme! :-)
Controls didn't feel smooth and at first it wasn't quite clear what to do.
simple, but funny :)
I wasn't able to get past the main menu. :-(
I really enjoyed this game. :)
The music was very repetitive and the text hard to read for me. Otherwise nice interpretation of the theme and good idea! :-)
Interesting concept—but I found the finale quite hard.
Quite a complex game for a jam—nice job! Also thank you for providing a web version!
Quite a big amount of levels for a jam game! Thanks for providing a web version!
This was a really hard game! Nice swarm movement!
@coleslaughter Thank you for playing our game and the detailed feedback! There is actually a way in the game to improve your "combat skills".
Quite an interesting perspective! I loved your choice of music!
I wasn't sure what to do after the window clip. I like the music the the intro though!
Would love to see more of this game!
I'm not quite sure what happened but I was able to draw this star shape:
Screenshot_2019-05-06 Older than War by BetelgeuseMan.png
I found it quite difficult to search for the missing last enemy—overall a nice game though! Also thanks for making a web version of it!
I think I didn't quite understand what to do. While I was clicking around, I really enjoyed the music though.
@tigeryue Thanks for the ping! I played it again but the same happens to me as in the comment above.
> you must click the bird first and then the old lady
@tigeryue This is exactly what I did and I know it worked before but doesn't seem to work now anymore.
vokoscreen-2019-05-19_20-39-25.gif
Nice game and quite complete for the short amount of time—well done! :muscle:
I pressed M to mute (because the music became a bit repetitive after a while) and then I was back at the menu and had to start over. :scream:
It was quite funny that the planet grew with more people living on it... also that you could should the planet you are protecting.
Very nice concept and graphics—difficult to play though!
I wasn't able to finish the game but I loved the music! Also nice Zelda reference...
Thank you for providing a web version of the game!
@shelldragon @christos-avramis @alxertion @xakkar Thank you all for playing our game and for the positive feedback!
@realitycheck First of all thank you for playing our game long enough to get stuck!
It looks like I'm not able to hide spoilers in comments here, so I'm trying to be vague AND helpful. :grimacing:
The order of some things is important but we made it impossible to do them in the wrong order or to give away items that you need later. So you should be all good in that regard. :white_check_mark:
After you unlocked all colors you are able to see all items that you need to finish the game. Maybe there is something that you didn't collect or didn't try to combine in the inventory?
I can try to be more specific but really don't want to ruin the fun for others coming here and reading my comment.
@landosystems @goupixm @p-r Thank you for playing our game and leaving such positive feedback here!
> I left wishing that there is more.
@pixamentory Thank you—there is actually more. Some game content cannot be unlocked because of missing items and we had to reduce the scope because of lack of time. Based on the positive reception here, we may consider a patch release though.
@tommyflower Thank you for playing our game and for the positive feedback!
> I didn’t see the textbox
@simon-parzer Yes, we struggled a bit with the placement of that. We didn't want to make it overlay game content but also scaling down the scene even further looked weird. Maybe we come up with a solution for that should we make a patch release. :chart_with_upwards_trend:
Also thank you for valuing the little details—those were the most fun to work at.
We have just released a post ludum dare version at https://ldjam.gitlab.io/45/next-big-thing/ which
- fixes the tint at the end of the game - allows you to make frog pie - allows you to have a fluffy pet
Enjoy! :tada:
@realitycheck Just want to double check: Were you eventually able to finish the game?
Thank you all for playing our game and for the nice comments!
@zymphe I hope you saw that there are more instruments than just the piano.
@madbarron I feared that we would run into synchronization issues but wasn't able to reproduce them myself. :grimacing: Also the post ludum dare version has an additional egg for you.
@pfeyffer Yeah, we ran out of time, so unfortunately we couldn't make all objects interactive even though we had some more ideas. :disappointed:
Awesome game, can't believe you did this within a game jam—it felt really complete!
I loved the big map to explore. Sometimes it was so big that I wished for an overview though.
The enemies felt a bit too easy to defeat (but maybe that was intended?). However all my friends died because I wasn't able to get close enough to enemies to shoot but far enough for my friends not to be hit.
I had plenty of minions and they often got in my way or stuck at a bridge (then reappeared after a while). Overall not too bad though.
They music was so great that I'm likely to buy it on bandcamp. (actually more :heart_ears:  )
Good job on this submission!
That parallel mind world is great! Good job visualizing what happens inside the character.
I must admit it wasn't exactly clear to me how to escape though. I clicked on some "normal" items and sometimes that worked but sometimes it didn't.
I loved the art style and the game play. Great job!
Occasionally I struggled moving the character. For some reason it could not be clicked.
Also maybe the intro could have been a little shorter.
The game was a bit slow in my browser, so I wasn't always able to react fast enough before a dodo found dangerous things.
Overall a cute idea! It wasn't exactly clear to me how to reach the end of the game though.
What a dark game!
Art style, sounds, gameplay and voice over were great!
Just a tiny bug that I have found: When a "guard" wakes up when you stand right next to them, the game seems to crash (stuck in infinite loop of "hey, drop that!")
This is a nice racing game! Personally I had some trouble dodging because left and right key didn't react as fast as I wished.
I wanted to play your game but unfortunately it didn't load in my browser.
I got the following error in my browser console in case that helps:

@zagganoth Thank you for playing our game and for your nice comment!
> Can’t say it really matches the theme but it’s a solid little game!
I must admit that we had the game idea before the theme was announced. However we still felt that the waves of princes approaching the tower over and over again was essentially the princess being stuck in a loop.
> I wish the next item being thrown could be previewed somewhere
Personally, I couldn't agree more. However this would have meant to change some things deep in the guts of our game mechanics which was too big of a risk on a Sunday evening (for must of us the jam was only 48 hours long). Maybe this could be part of a patch release.
@sven-lowry, @beats, @magic-mike, @snotax, @mycosil, @leggy, @erlioniel Thank you all for playing our game and for your nice comments!
@blinry Thank you for your detailed and nice comment and for your suggestions.  I can agree to all of the improvements. For the last one (theme) see also [my previous comment above](#comment-580659).
For me as a non-jump-and-run-person the beginning (getting to the first switch) was already quite difficult, so I couldn't see much of the game unfortunately. I would have loved to say hello to the robodog. :robot:
@ezgoodnight @ryan-romero @kirby @too-lazy-cat @rubentipparach @kro @diringer-leo @arget @cievers @kingslee142 @lelek-hunor-kadosa Thank you all for your nice comments! :sparkling_heart:
@joni-jarvinen @rubyes @lohii Thank you, too! I just added a hint to the description that the store items have tooltips. Thank you for pointing that out.
@lohii @alexhicks Thank you very much for your detailed feedback! I agree to the suggestions you make and hope to learn from them for our next jam.
@jupiter-hadley Thank you for playing and sorry for the lag! :disappointed: I've added desktop versions to the download section now.
@gasgiant Thank you for playing our game and for your feedback!
We realized some items were too small to grab but ran out of time implementing a zoom function but we totally get you frustration there. :grimacing:
There actually is a hotkey for switching between construction and movement phase (enter) but I will make sure to add it to the game description.
I really enjoyed that puzzle game—but got stuck at the gravel pit.
I would have enjoyed it even more with some sound though :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
> I wonder why it didn’t play for you!
@blinry same here :disappointed: I tried with LOVE 11.3 on Ubuntu 20.04
@blinry It works now with pasuspender! So I guess I have to do another gaming session later today...
@oernil @quite-good @blinry Thank you all for the feedback!
Maybe we trained a bit too much during the testing phase. The evil ship spawn timer is now reduced, so it should be a lot easier (we considered that to be a minor hotfix which can be done after the submission deadline).
I quite enjoyed my inevitable end
Unbenannt.png
I think I failed to understand the game mechanics: at some point I ran out of resources and cards and wasn't sure if I can do anything but watch the flood go higher.
Apart from that, the game seems well engineered - I only would have loved sound.
> but there’s only so much time in a jam…
yep, I can totally relate—the past jams, audio didn't get the highest priority in our games as well :hear_no_evil:
great to see a rhythm-based game entry! ...though I didn't row very long
Screenshot 2022-04-18 at 22-45-34 Unity WebGL Player Row With the Flow.png
interesting anti-dating game and also quite a lot of content in the game, good job!
the biggest issue I had was that the music felt a bit repetitive.
nice entry! I agree with other comments - an indicator which direction the impact is would have been helpful.
interesting gameplay! I found it hard to go past the second level though. :see_no_evil:
I'm not really sure how to stay above the water but I enjoyed this game - thank you!
Screenshot 2022-04-18 at 23-51-22 I Sink Not.png
nice game idea—fitting the theme quite well!
I really enjoyed this game! Maybe the drop shrinking could have been a little more clear (I missed that in the beginning) but apart from that a very solid entry.
nice entry! I made it until day 4 :muscle: the game would have taken advantage from some sound though.
I didn't play through the game because I died multiple times and because I had to star all over, I then lost the motivation.
However, I like the artwork and the overall atmosphere. it was easy to get started and the power ups fit in well.
nice and easy game! it was a bit difficult to recharge my bulb though. I feel like if the garbage would wiggle a bit, it would feel more oceanic but that's just a tiny aesthetic improvement and definitely not something I would prioritize during a jam. :-)
yay, I'm survivor  nice and engaging game!
I like the game (and no, I could not survive all 21 waves  ). making it progressively harder and introducing new types of enemies felt right to me though. just a tiny note: the sound when dying was a bit too harsh / loud for me in comparison to the rest.
interesting idea and good implementation! sometimes the collision boxes didn't work for me and eventually the game crashed when my space ship was stuck in a block:
Bildschirmfoto vom 2025-04-24 21-51-17.png
I liked the game and especially the background music. to be honest, it was a little too difficult for me, so I couldn't finish it. sometimes the ghosts spawned in the chamber, so I died multiple times before I could get rid of them.
I liked the game and it also fit the theme in a unique way. for me most of the cheese was very easy to get but then I always died when getting too close to a trap.
a tiny thing: there seems to be a bug with the z-index for some boxes:
mouse in front of a box
mouse partially covered by the same box
it was not clear to me whether I finished the game or missed something
good job overall though!
I guess I made it into the highscore
Screenshot 2025-04-12 at 23-00-15 Nailed It! ldjam.com Ludum Dare game jam.png
nice concept and engaging music! I only wish there would be multiple levels or something that add variation to the game.
I played the game for roughly half an hour before it crashed :sob:
screenshot of the stacktrace
as you can tell, I liked the gameplay and also the fancy fish graphics. even though the fisherman is ugly the animation is just awesome!
good job overall, I only missed some music.
I like the concept and the mining (both, aiming and animation). for the red creatures it was really difficult to aim at them, so some kind of melee attack or blast could have been nice.
for me there was no sound and I'm not sure if that was just a problem with my system or if there wasn't any.
thank you all for the feedback!
there are input instructions in the game but I have also added them to the description above
@iakovboy @prunus-padis in general you can always go back unless you have encountered a bug. do you still remember where that happened?
ah, I think, now I get what you mean: going back is disabled until leaving the "door" to avoid infinite loops of switching back and forth. this could have been solved by placing the "doors" outside of the screen but there wasn't enough time to change that.
@prunus-padis thank you for the clarification! there is a hint right before the end of the game:
Bildschirmfoto vom 2025-10-13 11-28-51.png
but it may be easy to miss. do you have a suggestion on how to improve it?
@archimagus @bluedingo thank you for the hint! I have added WASD controls now and listed them above in the hotfixes section.
> purpose of the creatures
yes, a visual indication (like the power flying from daemon to screen edge and from screen edge to the socket) would have been nice, I agree
@Unentokku Thank you for your feedback! We worked on the jumping part for some time because we weren't happy initially. Eventually we settled for: the longer you press up, the higher you jump (to a certain limit of course).
This game had a lot of content. I'm impressed what you did during the jam.
As you already identified, the sound could be more balanced. Also the character movement was sometimes strange and had some glitches:

Additionally, I'd like to thank you for trying out our game and giving such positive feedback!
Interesting mix of genres—and totally doable with two persons at the keyboard.
Thank you for playing our game, too!
An interesting take on farm simulation—we considered mixing in a card game as well.
Two downside though: The music was annoying really fast and the pictures didn't quite blend in.
Also I'd like to thank you for playing our game and leaving such positive feedback!
Nice idea! The game could benefit from a smoother movement (animation) and some sound/music. It's not quite clear to me what genres were mixed here.
Also thank you for playing our game and leaving such positive feedback! :-)
A little bit too late to vote—but very nice game!
I liked the game—it was simple enough to understand (on the second attempt, I must admit) yet difficult enough to encourage to keep playing. Too bad that sounds don't work in the web version but the music on https://soundcloud.com/bruno_mend/get-away-from-the-castle sounds great.
Also thank you for trying out our game and leaving such positive feedback! :-)
