It is a very good idea. It is nice to see the letter with the dot where we have clicked at the end. The minimalist design is good. However, it is too hard. I tried a lot of time and never succeed to have more than 3 letters. There are too many letters that are similar (O/D, X/K,...). Also, I think you should use a font where all the letters have the same dimension (for example, here the W is larger than the D so it is hard to visualize the border of the board). But it stays a very good game !
It would be nice if the exclamation marks could stick there and not fade. That way you don't need to remember all of them. ;-)

@edmond00: Thanks for your helpful feedback! :) I agree that the game is hard, but actually I'd prefer that to making it too easy. I'll wait for some more opinions on the level of hardness, and might adjust it a bit based on that.
@winniehell: Well, that one is certainly a deliberate design choice! :P

Great original concept for a game. I agree that it would be good if the successful hits were persistent though... unless that would make it too easy to read the letter. I like the music too - but it seemed to stop after only a few seconds of play for me...?
Very good concept and very original. I had a lot of fun playing it. It's easy to imagine different modes and difficulties, some examples: - Easier version where your gueses don't dissapear - Instead of typing, give three choices - Use differents fonts, or upper and lower case I think if would work great on mobile.
Good job!

As the game is universally perceived as "too hard", based on your feedback, I've changed the parameters a little so the hits stay on the screen longer, and clicks/wrong answers cost less energy. I want all of you to be able to get to the end! :) Thanks to all of you for playing!
Interesting and challenging game ! The simplicity makes it wonderful !
That was a lot of fun, although eventually it crashed with an out of memory error. I enjoyed playing this, despite apparently not knowing much about the alphabet. Very good.
Cool concept and well executed! I agree that it felt a little bit unfair at times, but then a couple of times I guessed the right letter after just a couple of clicks. That was really satisfying! Overall this one felt very polished and I had a lot of fun playing. Well done!
I kept playing until it crashed with;
"Out of memory"-something somthing at main.lua 228

Nice clean design and an original concept here. I was just AWFUL at this game though. I played through four or five times and only got one letter the entire time, an I.
I ragequit when I thought I was going to get my second correct letter, an O, but it was a Q. I also am not crazy about the physical act of playing this game, which is non-stop furious clicking of the mouse.
So extremely difficult but nicely put together, good work.
If you asked my thoughts on how to best make this game more approachable, I would say to quantize the grid. Instead of pixel-level clicking where I have to spam clicks, it could have a visible grid and when I click a cell it somehow indicates the density of pixels within that cell. Perhaps that's going too far afield from the original idea, or too easy, though.

@badly-drawn-rod @pixzleone: Thanks for pointing out the memory leak, I fixed in the new build! :)
@pkenney: Your in-depth feedback is very helpful! And I know the O <-> Q feeling all too well myself! :P
Loved it! Very hard but the mechanic is very innovative and it surely got me hooked!
Interesting mechanic. It took me a while to figure out what was going on though, I think it needed some more UI clues to help or something.

I think this game is pretty clever from a dev perspective - it's an interesting game to put together and i'm sure the code is interesting. However, the game was not really my cup of tea - playing it well requires a LOT of clicking, which is not an activity I love. Very cool idea, though. I'm pretty interested in LOVE right now, so I might take a peak at your code.
Nice concept, but the game really is too hard! At least for me, that is. :(
The minimalistic design and everything fits it really nicely.
However, I think one tutorial level or something would be nice!

I absolutely love this game. The game told me, I should definitely tell you that I got as far as I did.
It's a game of logical deduction. You click around, and make some first guesses based on that information. And then you try to narrow the possibilities down, and verify your guess by clicking strategically. So when what I first thought was an I, turned out to be a T, I learned that I should also check for that at the top. Some nasty ones I had were: a $ instead of an S, a G instead of an C a B vs an 8, and a 0 instead of a D.
The graphics and music complement the minimalistic puzzle design elegantly.
I could see this work for mobile, and there you could change it, so you can touch+drag your finger over the screen, and it vibrates when you are "over" the letter. Just a thought.

@klianc09: Whoa, congrats for beating the secret hardcore mode! \o/ To my knowledge, you're the first person ever who managed to do that! I'm very glad you enjoyed it so much – yeah, I was also reminded of logical deduction. In case you've not heard from it yet, check out [Zendo](http://www.koryheath.com/zendo/)!
Great game! The idea is great, the sound effects were good, the energy gain/reduction seems balanced, and for a game made in just 24 hours it seems solid! I would add background music to the whole game, and maybe some upgrades that could be unlocked.
Overall, I enjoyed playing! It didn't seem like a 24 hour quick sandbox prototype, but like a solid game! Hope you get well soon!

Too hard for me. The non-standard font makes it kinda hard to guess the letters. I also struggle with imagining them, maybe it's just a me-thing. The best i had was 6 letters. The music in the start is really cool. There isn't anything new that i can say. edmond00 and winniehell already said it. I'm with them. But i like the game and it deserves good ratings :) Great job.

Your game just gives me a blue screen on start up. No sound or anything.
I have encountered this problem with another game before, maybe this is some kind of Löve thing? I am using 32 bit Windows XP, maybe that is the problem. Is this not supported?
An interesting idea, but it feels pretty difficult. I liked being able to see where I was clicking at the end. I like the minimalist aesthetics and design, they work well together. Good entry :)

Very simple but challenging game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jtt-Piir6X0
