LD26 — Minimalism

AVOID by elmismopancho 2013-05-01T15:35:00

Just a quick update. I'm fixing the android version so it works on devices with hi resolution screen (I only have a small android device D: ) I will update it just after i test it on a friend's device. Thanks for your feedback!

LD39 — Running out of Power

Ten Little Letters by blinry 2017-08-11T21:41:39Z

Very good concept and very original. I had a lot of fun playing it. It's easy to imagine different modes and difficulties, some examples: - Easier version where your gueses don't dissapear - Instead of typing, give three choices - Use differents fonts, or upper and lower case I think if would work great on mobile.

Good job!

Energy Collector by peremily 2017-08-12T03:48:17Z

The game needs music, and some help, but the gameplay is very good, it always keeps you nervous to maintain a good balance of resources. Nice job!

Cryozia by Flipsy 2017-08-05T02:57:38Z

Nice throwback to centipede or xevious, that was great. The game is very nice, it's complete and is fun. The controls are a bit hard to manage, but I believe that was the idea. Congrats

Neuropower by klianc09 2017-08-11T21:56:18Z

Graphics and squiggly physics are great, is awesome to see this kind of games that try something different. It would have been nice to have a more clear goal, but the achievements help moving forward but it's hard to see if what you are doing is good or bad.

Invaders From The Next Planet Over! by SimplePotential 2017-08-10T23:27:22Z

I don't know why I found really hard to hit the targets, perhaps it was so long that I played missile command. Anyway, good job, very nice. I don't know if you tried different configurations of speed and enemy health, perhaps this one wasn't the most fun. Perhaps a Difficulty selection could be interesting?

Tiny Sub Mission by Meta-link 2017-08-10T00:31:50Z

The game is great, I had a lot of fun playing it, and I loved that many levels were very puzzly. Some feedback in case that you do a post event version (I would love to play it): - Contrast. White waypoints over a white background and also a white energy bar, is no good my friend 😉 - Moving inside the waypoint to prepare for the next jump is great, give tension and feels like you are in control, but the fact that you can "fall" from the waypoint and lose, is frustrating. - I never felt the need to NOT fully charge the energy bar, so maybe there is no need to force the player to hold the W button to do the jump - Inform in which level your are, and the progress (how many are left)

Nuclear Arms 4: Fallout of The Mountain King by Logicon211 2017-08-08T01:27:03Z

Well, I couldn't jump over the first wall. I tried standing over the barrel, but I couldn't jump (I've seen collision problems like this on other Unity games). Then I tried to break the wall shooting at it, but I wasted all my energy just making a small hole, and I died. Would buy again (?)

Glowsticks by ratly 2017-08-09T23:37:29Z

The mechanics and the concept are really good. The problems that I can think of are: - Too random. There is no way to predict what color will come next, neither are combinations or some cool plays you could do - No progression. I reach 200pts and I got bored, it was the same pace.

Botnet Smashers by dusakus 2017-08-06T23:17:58Z

Good job, the game is very promising.

Some feedback, it really needs a way to know your current energy, there is no way to know how much each unit cost (if they cost anything) And because all the units behave basically the same way, the game boils down to spawn bots and see if they hold the enemies, and spawn one more if you see your group is losing.

LOW BATT by simonhutchinson 2017-08-02T22:38:14Z

Very nice, the music, simple graphics, innovative mechanics. The only thing I would add is some kind of victory condition. Good job

LD39:Running out of energy by johnnwfs 2017-08-05T03:08:38Z

Great! Tried the html5 version without issue. I agree with @antti-haavikko, it needs some way to prevent the IA to get the bolt, because if it is closer to it there is no way the player can get it first. Perhaps the game could announce where the bolt will spawn, or you have a boost that you could use but will consume your energy faster.

Lost Connection by Cameron Taylor 2017-08-21T19:30:07Z

Very nice mood, and great concept. There a lot of room to improve and making it a full game. Keep working!

Star Hopper: Crank by deathray 2017-08-09T23:18:13Z

This game is very interesting, but as many have already said, there is a learning curve, and the progression of the game is slow, and that can go against the number of reviews you will get. However, is a great game, and I will keep playing it while I rate other games.

PS: I tried playing it on an ipad and the start button didn't work.

The Hall of the Sorcerer King by celia14 2017-08-05T03:23:56Z

Very nice writing, loved the theme. What engine did you used to create the game?

Your Friend Is Lost In The Woods by pilly 2017-08-06T23:05:04Z

This game shows that a great idea and good gameplay is way more important than HD graphics. Well done! This is one of the best games i've played so far, it's really good. And the end, WOW! very well executed.

Some suggestions: - The game is a bit too long so it becomes repetitive, I can imagine many people giving up before reaching the end, and missing the punch line. - The best idea is the cellphone. The way the messages appear and are contextual to where you are is amazing. So it's a shame that if you are not careful with the energy you will be missing this feature, which makes this game so unique.

Nothing more to say, excellent job!

A Black Screen by qzqxq 2017-08-12T03:17:26Z

I've seen games made for blind people, but i've never played one, and is amazing what your senses can do. Great job creating the levels I was able to finish the whole game.

How I Met Your Great Great Grandmother by PeachTreeOath 2017-08-11T13:29:26Z

Really excellent game, I love puzzle games and I'm a fan of HIMYM so this was right in my alley. The gameplay makes sense, and is really polished. The music and the graphics are all very nice. Two recommendations: - Knowing how many levels are left to finish the game would be nice. When you are reviewing a lot of games, time is really important. - At first I was a bit confused on how to unlock the walls. The fact that the money is green and there are green walls made me think that you need money to unlock green walls. Perhaps using other colors would help with this.

Hope Glider by Spotline 2017-08-21T19:16:31Z

Amazing game and fun. The art is beautiful and the controls are very nice. In terms of difficulty perhaps it was a bit easy, but other than that a great entry. Congratulations!

Running Out of Power Rangers by beardogames 2017-08-21T19:23:00Z

Cool idea and congratulations on finishing your game.

The execution is a bit lacking, I couldn't understand what each attack did, and I defeated all the enemies just pressing random buttons. Perhaps you could have done some rock-papers-scissors logic, or some cooldown. Also normally on games that use arrows or WASD, these keys normally do the same, so the player con choose which combination to use, if your games uses them as different input, you must make it really clear in your game interface, or that will lead to confusion.

Good job, and looking forward to your next jam.

Discipline and Punish by shiitman 2017-08-10T23:36:04Z

Very cool graphic design, I really like how clean it is. Audio was also good too. And not going for the obvious Power = Energy = Fuel, is a big check. Two things to improve: - The fact that the other sliders adjust to keep the 100% total is ok, but it's annoying when you want 2 of them to stay at the same level. - The objective of the game is not clear, to run out of power?, to increase it and to what amount?

Keep the good work

PoweRL by Steve Johnson 2017-08-09T23:30:40Z

Very good roguelike! and the vector graphics weren't that bad.

Hydrocrypt by shru 2017-08-12T04:01:49Z

How is it possible that this game has so little reviews, it's amazing! Nice concept and has a lot of potential. At this point I wouldn't say is like Zelda, it really is more like Isaac, but BULLET HELL! Amazing entry.

Short Lived by Matt Fabius 2017-08-11T21:31:33Z

Nice simple platformer. Here is some feedback: - You really need another kind of camera. No modern platformer uses the kind that is locked to the player, and for a reason, it's confusing and makes you dizzy. - For jumping, holding the spacebar to jump becomes frustrating, platformers are about dexterity and control. Use [Input.GetButtonDown](https://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/Input.GetButtonDown.html) to detect only when the key is pressed. - It's not clear that you die if the energy level reaches zero, in fact, I didn't even notice the small counter on the bottom left corner until I started dying "for no reason". You could put the energy meter on a more visible spot, or at least mention it on the tutorial. - Finally, there is a small bug on the first level, if you stand exactly inthe middle of the two NPC's both dialogues appear at the same time. Screenshot 2017-08-11 17.10.53.png

Pinch&scape by Guillaume Gomez 2017-08-02T22:19:12Z

Interesting concept, but it's hard to control, especially vertically.

Blitztanz by haette 2017-08-08T01:18:47Z

Cool game! loved the mechanic, very original. Well done.

The lights go out. by Slowpoke 2017-08-10T00:14:26Z

The idea is good, nice variety of traps. I would prefer to plan the position of the traps and have a limit of them, rather than have an unlimited amount but a short time to plant them. Also the bullet collision was a bit buggy.

Lantern by Kaban 2017-08-11T22:02:04Z

Good job, very well execution of the theme, graphics are beautiful and the mood is amazing. A great polished entry with a simple concept.

Back Home by Angry Squirrels 2017-08-10T23:50:11Z

Amazing entry, the graphics are beautiful, the music sets the mood perfectly, and the controls are very good. The only problem for me was that it really was not clear where you had to go, I had to read the description to get the objective, and that is really not good, it would be a perfect game if simply had a small message at the beginning: "Reach the tree" or something like that. In any case, one of the best entries I've seen.

Escape The Power by Fawaz.Strawberry 2017-08-08T01:34:20Z

Fun game, and for your first time a very good job, it has everything a game need, an objective, progression of difficulty and condition of victory and defeat. Keep working and practicing!

Jupiter II ‒ Survival by Timbaleek 2017-08-21T19:46:44Z

Man, you made a hard game. I tried several time, but couldn't last mora that 10 seconds. As many people have mentioned, the Retry button is a must, specially if the game is that hard.

Some random ideas: - A radar that tells you where are the items, but it consumes more energy, so you have to turn it on and off. - Quick boost of speed that needs recharging - Mini map to see what you have explored.

Deep by tenshi42 2017-08-10T01:51:08Z

The audio and mood are the best elements of this game. The music is great, the lighting of the stage is great, the slow animation of sitting in the chair is good.

But the gameplay is lacking, I hate when the game treats me like a child and tells me "Go here, now pick this, now go here, now move to steps to the front, now attack this man, now go back" (yes, i'm looking at you assassin's creed 😡), but in this case, the game really needs some directions, for instance, even though I have a steering wheel in front of me, I'm not sure if I can control it, pressing buttons doesn't seem to work, dragging it with the mouse doesn't work either. So, there are two options here, either is intended that you can't move the wheel in which case, if feels more like a bug than a feature, OR you can move the wheel but is not explained well.

To finish, congratulations on your first jam, is really well done. My recommendation for the next jam is that you leave more time for testing and polishing the game.

Running out of steam by supremefist 2017-08-02T22:30:26Z

Very simple controls and lots of fun, for a moment I thought that I wasn't going to finish it but I managed to get to the end, with zero of everything, but it's something! xD

Lost in Translation at Space by elmismopancho 2017-08-02T22:25:49Z

Hey @simplepotential, some notes, the game is only available on Chrome (desktop and android) because it uses the speech recognition api's that (as far as we tested) are only available there. Also, check if it was the https site, because to access the mic, it requires security. And maybe by mistake you denied the access. Anyway, thanks for trying the game!

Lost in Translation at Space by elmismopancho 2017-08-04T22:11:55Z

@guckstift we used the html5 [speech recognition API](https://shapeshed.com/html5-speech-recognition-api/)

Scale of Life by ilya_kozlov 2017-08-11T22:10:39Z

Nice graphics and well polished. The gameplay is too simple, the music is fine, but the sound effects I think take points away from what I think is a very professional game.

Meltdown by Sarrixx 2017-08-09T23:57:09Z

The main idea is great, and it's very nervewracking... to not be able to press the button when you are CLEARLY in front of it...

From Kingdom to Freedom by Studio RTV 2017-08-05T02:43:10Z

The most interesting thing was the mechanic of having to escape the advisor, while evading the obstacles. That idea is great, the problem is, the obstacles come too fast, it's almost impossible to evade them. Maybe it would be better instead of having lives, to stun the player for a moment. Anyway, good job!

Energy Grid by Aaron McLeod 2017-08-10T23:18:24Z

Very nice, streamlined, and fun! Good take on the theme. I didn't understand why there was different types of resources. Also other that the energy cost, there was no limit to what you could build, maybe increase the energy consumption for each building?

Oppressiv Light by Yulirev 2017-08-08T01:48:48Z

Well done, the game is scary and the monster startled me a couple of times. One thing that made no sense to me is, if you can scare the monster with light, why it is able to enter the spaces with light?

With Extra Steps by ArticNet 2017-08-09T23:51:16Z

Good entry, not sure if it should, but it did not detect multiples touch on my device.

Sparkling by aaforcebox 2017-08-09T23:44:58Z

Good game, very interesting idea that the enemies are spheres, perhaps something more interesting could be done with the geometry (like bouncing) The cool down of the main gun is a bit annoying though.

Cat Herder - THE CATPOCALYPSE by Meanderthal 2017-08-08T01:14:39Z

For you first jam, is a very good work.

RGB by Erik Foss 2017-08-09T23:21:32Z

no links makes me ☹️

Office Wars by Lumous 2017-08-08T01:54:25Z

Good concept. The html5 version starts slowing down after a few seconds, and I couldn't figure out the aiming.

Cyborg Apocalipse by VirtualAcademy 2017-08-12T03:07:46Z

Excellent game guys! I had a lot of fun playing this game, the concept of setting traps so the robots would fall is very innovative. I would love to play a bigger version of this game, with more enemies and more kinds of traps, and a nice final boss fight! Congratulations and keep making games!

Power Tycoon by oparisy 2017-08-02T21:50:17Z

Congratulations! I was really hooked on the mechanics of this game. It took me 3 tries but I managed to beat it. Now some feedback - The game would be greatly improved if each building had a unique color. When you understand the game, it doesn't matter what you had built, but it would help to learn the game. - The 3d perspective is cool, but the cursor was weird, most of the time I couldn't tell where I was pointing, and exploring was a bit awkward - The first two days were the most challenging, but when I got past that I almost didn't need to build anything else. With the improvements, and a few geothermal stations, I always had reserve and positive net energy.

In the end good job! I really liked it.

Glitterwing VS Apocalipsaur by DDSFloko 2017-08-12T03:25:53Z

Very nice idea! super innovative. Love the graphics and sound. I tried the PC version and it was a bit hard to control, perhaps the android version is better. It was a little frustrating not being able con connect the plugs. Other than that a great entry.

LD49 — Unstable

Cosmic Time-Out by nratcliff 2021-10-08T21:08:32Z

Great graphics, great audio. Good mood and the concept is interesting, but as currently is, I find it more frustrating than fun. But in any case, congratulations on having a finished game!

Cthulhu goes to Work by battlecoder 2021-10-06T21:24:26Z

Thanks to everyone, all the feedback has been very useful, and we will try to make a post jam version, with all these fixes and more ideas that we didn't have the time to implement.

@jcmonkey @marc-jones true, the clic needs feedback and we will see how to make it more forgiving.

@muros yes, one of the ideas we had, and didn't had time to implement was levels with an end goal

@gradientogames turns out, making a game with a physics engine is hard xD, but yup, we'll tweak the gravity and object's mass to speed it up a little bit. And the fading could be improved, we will try some other options, like blinking, or a timer.

Thanks again to everyone, we are super happy to see people enjoying the game.

Unstable Medicine by loveapplegames 2021-10-08T21:24:08Z

Great concept and had a lot of fun playing the game. It needs some polish, maybe the difficulty curve is a bit too steep, but this game has potential.

Emotionally Unstable Bethy by Dev Dennis 2021-10-06T21:16:47Z

Simple but very well done. Played it to the end. The intro is very well done and it makes you wanna see the game to the finish. It's very clear when Betty is stable and when she is enraged. Some feedback: - At the beginning the instructions says Bethy is stable, but clearly is enraged. That may cause some confusion. - I feel like some feedback of when the rage is going to end could be fun. Blinking like pacman, or a fade into the stable model.

Overall, congrats on a great game.

Dimension Collapse by AtomFox0213 2021-10-06T21:33:02Z

Short and sweet, the perfect combination. Love the art style and the mood. Really Nice job.

The Adventures of Chris the Slime, part 1: The Bacon and the Jeffenator by Batsphemy 2021-10-08T20:52:58Z

I have to agree with @sir-onionknight since the blocks don't respawn, if you fail a jump the only option is to restar. Also, the climbing on the second level is too hard, for a second level

Unstabadome by Dj Depressive 2021-10-06T20:08:29Z

Good graphics, but I had a hard time undertanding what the announcer was saying. Some text describing the change in mechanics would help.

Unstabadome by Dj Depressive 2021-10-06T20:43:30Z

@dj-depressive That would be helpful for people with hearing disabilities, or if english is not your native language.

Vampiric Bullet Hell by Drunk Wizard 2021-10-05T17:37:41Z

Very fun game, I could see myself trying to get better at this. My only feedback is that the small enemies are hard to hit.

Temple Of Tozi by Denzil Gomes 2021-10-06T20:42:12Z

Love to see this idea into a full game

Time Rift by Unrivaled Super Hottie 2021-10-08T21:18:42Z

Fantastics graphics and cool concept. Had a few bugs though. The first time I started below the ground, had to restart and wait for the intro to finish. Happened a few times after I died. Also, having to restart from the beginning gets annoying after a few deaths.

Unstable Voyage by ayebee 2021-10-06T21:38:00Z

I lost all my sandías D:

Fun game, but a bit one note, perhaps some challenges during the journey to spice thing up would be fun. In any case, good job!

Rocketboy by cjce 2021-10-05T17:26:56Z

Having a lot of fun playing this. Some feedback: - A retry button would have been very nice. - Sometimes I lost sense of where I was. - Instakill is very annoying, and since there is no retry button, is veeery annoying.

But the horses have parachutes so 10/10

Milburt by LiquidFunk 2021-10-06T19:50:39Z

Good story, but the font it's very confusing and hard to read.

D.A.D Logistics ltd. by Xparker 2021-10-06T20:29:26Z

Very fun idea, seems like you could do a fun game, adding some objectives. As is, I don't see why I should put any container on the boat, perhaps a minimun value requirement, and also, to see a preview of the route. It reminds a lot of the board game Galaxy Trucker.

Unstable Tower by Ibrahim Oezhan 2021-10-05T17:18:17Z

Good concept, at first wasn't sure what the objective was, and well, there wasn't an objective, but I had a good time.

Crazy Potion by zapdos2 2021-10-06T20:01:47Z

Fun concept. The problem with healing is I forgot how to use it during game, since it doesn't have feedback of the area that is going to heal. The space to skip levels, help to not have to retry the first levels, but a retry button would have been better.

The Mental Wheel by T1h4n 2021-10-06T20:14:19Z

Great graphics. This concept is very interesting, would love to see more mutations (I only got 2, drunk nad muscle man)

High-Rise Havoc by Kyrell 2021-10-08T20:58:10Z

Good job on have a finished game, with options and all. The platforming could use a little work, it's a little unforgiving on when it lets you jump, and if you fall on a corner it stays on the falling animation.

Stumblewood by Medley Studios 2021-10-06T21:29:04Z

Good concept. My biggest issue is that it was really laggy. Like 10fps.

Meltdown!! by manzdeh 2021-10-06T20:23:36Z

Very good, love the puzzle aspect of the game. Some feedback: - It took me a while to figure out how to use the magnet - I feel like the walking should be more restricted, a lot of time I made more steps than I wanted by mistake - The difficulty curve is weird. I feel like there is a lot of potential in mechanics, the levels could teach the player some techniques, basic and advanced.

Overall, great job
