LD39 — Running out of Power

On/Off by ThePelranthean 2017-07-31T23:06:16Z

Nice game, though the camera kept going behind walls and I couldn't see :(

Cellephant by hippy-dave 2017-08-02T01:08:22Z

Pretty solid game. Only played up to 20 levels, you sure put a lot in there :)

Assault & Battery by superjai 2017-08-21T23:28:39Z

Pretty fun game, feels pretty solid. Though I found the RNG of the drops hurting me a fair bit.

Devious Plant Commando by Marcenat 2017-07-31T22:51:15Z

The full 360 degree fluid movement felt weird with the art style, but otherwise pretty solid game. Found it tricky to manage bullets.

Charged Up by reecer9714 2017-07-31T22:56:02Z

The animations were pretty solid, graphics not too shabby either. I found the gameplay tight and fun. Though i wasnt sure what was happening after i took out the enemies. the core would be down to 950 or whatever. I'd go to charge it, and i'd see the phone retry screen.

They Attack At Night by randomphantom 2017-08-07T02:17:10Z

Solid feel to the game, but I have to admit the gameplay didn't hold me very much. I felt like i was waiting for the enemies a fair bit. The look, sound, feel of the shooting was fantastic though.

@hilvon cheers. I'll see if i can patch that.

@goldranger glad you enjoyed it. And yeah i don't exactly stop the systems from running once the game ends. I wish i had time to get a proper end state in :).

@JCMonkey

Yeah when I started the game ,i just had it kill the app when running out of power. Sadly i didnt get time to put a lose screen in. Thanks for checking it out though.

@steve-johnson thanks steve. Yeah i've fixed the build button, i just haven't cut a release for it. Wasnt' sure if it's too late or not to ship bug fix releases. I wish i could have made the grid smarter on where you place it, get bonuses for types closer together, implement a pollution meter. It might be a game I continue to add to after the fact.

@steve-johnson haha thanks. I'm interested to try. I have a larger project also written in Rust that I want to add to. But I'm tempted to refactor some of the code problems in this project, and evolve it a bit.

@tiberiusuciu yeah I was thinking that last night. I need to make the difficulty curve better. Longer vision I have for this game is to make sort of procedurally generated scenarios. Where there's certain tiles you wont want to build high pollutant gatherers closer. Grouping certain types together adds bonuses. Perhaps add a more diverse tech tree. Allow you to build all researched types at once.

Thanks for the input & playing :)

@elmismopancho yeah i like that idea. I've been working on some code structure improvements so I can better maintain the UI. But i'm looking to rebalance a lot of the building costs, and make placement really matter for a post jam version :).

HOME IS DEAD by ahintoflime 2017-08-02T00:50:03Z

Pretty difficult, but fun little idea. Nicely done. I think some tweaking on the difficulty curve would make the game much more solid.

Update your description to include controls, took me a bit to figure out what to press :). I think with fixed levels and save spots, the game would have a nice balance. Think about how super meat boy did that.
