There seems to be an issue with a .net core3.1 dll, this can be resolved with this: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet/thank-you/sdk-3.1.413-windows-x64-installer
We haven't had this issue before with the same self-made engine, but we'll try to fix it by next LD
This game was enjoyable. I think one thing I would like to see implimented if you were to take this further past the jam is making the unstable blocks respawn after a period of time. Really unlucky if you gotta restart the level over again because you broke multiple blocks on the way down from a fall on accident lol. I did enjoy the fact you could dash mid air though. I think that added a little something to the platforming and I enjoyed it.
I have to agree with @sir-onionknight since the blocks don't respawn, if you fail a jump the only option is to restar. Also, the climbing on the second level is too hard, for a second level
Interesting game. But funny to play
I give up, 272 deaths in! level 9 broke me, ended up editing the save file to check out lvl 10... and like you said, it was harder, a lot harder. big theme points, the game was fitting with breaking and invisible blocks, and it even made me a little unstable! haha. As a reminder from stream, check out [THIS](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Wanna_Be_the_Guy) game, same kind of genre!
You did a really good job on the soundtrack, it kept me sane in this insanity! Loved the graphics, and the level design is brilliant! movement is really solid as well, except, at least in my opinion, i noticed you cant double jump after falling from a platform, that's the only "feature" i was missing really.
Every gameplay mechanic is working as intended and this piece of art is really well put together, Only comment i have is on your collision box, it's a bit big so you hit spikes without really hitting them, and you can stay on ledges while visually being off the ledge.
All in all, i had a blast, would definitely check out The adventures of Chris the slime: Part 2
cool game with just as cool level design, reminds me of an old flash game, a bit of more polishing + more levels and it would make for a good phone game. nice work!
at first i thought the dash was gonna be like a "celeste" dash, but it was more like a "multiply whatever speed you have" kinda dash, which i've never really seen before. cool game! i'm fine with the game being difficult and trolly, but i wish the collision box of the player character better matched the sprite. just things like that would be cool.
