Pretty short but I mean I love me some power rangers so +1 for that lol Really confused about how you can lose, seems like a bunch of spamming wins. Would like to see per ranger powers or maybe you have to use the right ranger for an attack to be successful. (if this already isn't a thing) Anyway thanks for taking me back to my childhood, enjoyed it

Go go Power Rangers!

remondo 2017-08-01 19:24

The game is quite bugged, i tried it and it crashed after the 3rd monster. However, the principle isquite fun and it's nice to be able to chose a team.

The game crashed after the third monster like @remondo said. But, the game was pretty confusing with having to use WASD and the arrow keys to choose which attack to do. It also was hard to read sometimes. Pretty much all I did was spam the keys. Nice try!

Amusing :)

The actual game feels a bit too frantic to make it seem like you have control.

The game also crashed the second time I tried to play it 😕

Oh, also this was hurt a bit from no sound too. Sound effects are pretty easy to make, really. You can use SFXR for some basic ones

Well, that was quite an amusingly different take on the theme. I liked the names for the different attacks.

The premise had me chuckling. This is my favourite interpretation of the theme in all of LD.

The gameplay however is missing some basic instructions and player feedback, I had no idea what was happening and just mashed buttons and eventually won. Also it crashed when I tried to play it a second time. Maybe try give some visual feedback on what the attacks do, or how effective they are.

Nice take on theme. The game is fun but it lacks some animations and effects.

jaimuepe 2017-08-19 14:15

I have no idea how the game works lol i spammed the keys at the combats and i won them all. But I gotta say, loved the theme's interpretation xD would've never thought about power rangers. Also the "choose a team" a la pokemon go was funny. Good job!

Excellent use of theme. Also that title. I spent like a minute on the first guy hitting him with greens because I figured green is good. After that I tried some reds and beat all the bosses in about 2 seconds each, so I guess reds are actually good. Mashing keys for it bit causes it to throw an exception usually.

The interpretation of the theme was so brilliant that I had to give this a go. While the description of the game seemed pretty interesting, I found the actual gameplay a bit confusing. I realize that the red alternatives are the best for dealing damage, but they changed so quick and so often that I didn't really have time to make decisions. For the last enemy I just ended up pressing random directions and won handily, while trying to choose attacks led to the enemy getting closer and closer to attack.

A bug I noticed was that, after playing Team Power without losing any rangers, I chose Team Justice and played again. The pig monster never showed up after its introduction screen, though, and several of the attacks were just labelled "DEBUG."

Great job, well done

An pretty interesting game for such a short perio of time :)

elmismopancho 2017-08-21 19:23

Cool idea and congratulations on finishing your game.

The execution is a bit lacking, I couldn't understand what each attack did, and I defeated all the enemies just pressing random buttons. Perhaps you could have done some rock-papers-scissors logic, or some cooldown. Also normally on games that use arrows or WASD, these keys normally do the same, so the player con choose which combination to use, if your games uses them as different input, you must make it really clear in your game interface, or that will lead to confusion.

Good job, and looking forward to your next jam.

Didn't fully understand the mechanics, I just spammed buttons and won... But it was a laugh and I haven't seen power rangers in years :)

pedro-romero 2017-08-21 21:15

Is a funny concept, and the idea of the combination attacks that are "procedural generated" is very interesting. I think that the "Sentai Hero" concept match pretty well with the gameplay.

The implementation of the mechanic, however, is lacking. It needs to show more information about everything: the Rangers, the attack, the enemy, the "turn time"... if you fix that details, you would have a good base for an interesting spin in the RPGs.

Nice concept. Was a bit hard to understand what, exactly, I was doing with the moves I was choosing, though. With some balancing, could be a fun and challenging little game.
