LD38 — A Small World

Petty Puny Planet 38 by JorgeGameDev 2017-04-27T00:13:34Z

Very cool, great idea and sound, fantastic visuals! I played for five to ten minutes and didn't get any ending. A lot of the same choices kept coming up and leading to the same results. In the end I felt like I wasn't going to get to an ending anytime soon and it was unclear what I needed to do to reach one. I could of kept clicking on the options I hadn't chosen before, but there was often only one option I hadn't yet taken so it no longer felt like I was making any real choices or I that I had any agency. Great work overall though, very professional entry. I started with a similar concept of guiding a planet through time although I ended up with something very different (and no where near as polished as your entry).

My Very Own World by Flipsy 2017-04-29T02:34:32Z

Thanks @jupiter-hadley keep up the good work, always a big fan of your video compilations.

My Very Own World by Flipsy 2017-05-01T15:01:20Z

Thanks Blinry, would love to see a video of your dance if you manage to master it

My Very Own World by Flipsy 2017-05-02T23:09:02Z

@randomhuman You should be able to just double click the file to unzip it and then double click the unzipped file to run the game. I made the game on a Mac myself and just downloaded and double checked it and it worked fine. Can I ask what version of OS X you are running and what sort of Mac?

My Very Own World by Flipsy 2017-05-03T21:47:12Z

@randomhuman Thanks very much for making the effort to play and for the details about the mac issue. I'll look into it again.

My Very Own World by Flipsy 2017-05-05T01:00:46Z

@philomory thank you very much for the feedback re: mac build. Much appreciated.

@xavier-indie-gamedev Thank you very much.

Mediator by randomhuman 2017-05-02T01:26:31Z

Love the graphics, mood and style of the whole thing. The audio felt spot on to me as well. Not much else to say given how short it is. A fantastic start. Would definitely play a full length version.

Grall Axy by LooksLikeSomething 2017-05-01T23:45:59Z

Good game with some lovely touches. I thought the audio set the mood very well. I played it through once and then tried the tutorial in case I missed anything and realized I had missed the time shift mechanic so I played it again. I haven't seen this before but I thought it worked really well being able to adjust the speed of the game to your own preference while also being an integral part of the game.

Some nice details with the teleportation ?cubes and lava spouts. As @bram-ve above mentions the double jumping was fun but would muck me up. It would be good to find a way to make the double jump more useful so you were rewarded for it instead of punished (maybe bonuses that appear in a static position for limited time that you can only get to by double jumping).

I thing the game could potentially be a lot more fun by fine tuning the mechanics a little. I feel like you need to be able to move faster and for there to be less possible positions you can be in (if that makes sense), so you can build that sense of flow where the player is only just able to keep up with the speed of the game. With your ship and the asteroids so small and the speed it currently moves at you can't get from place to place in a snappy enough way for it to have a nice arcade feel. Maybe that's not what you were going for but it feels like that style of game to me.

Overall great work and very solid all around, congratulations!

Puny World by Joe Cowman 2017-05-01T07:51:37Z

Very funny, love the little characters and story-lines. More content and characters would be great.

Power Department by Cameron Seebach 2017-05-01T06:34:33Z

Awesome video intro. The game lost me a bit. I quite like strategy games but I feel like I just didn't have enough info to know what I should do or any clear motivation to do it. Interface is confusing with the very small icons having no clear labels. Not sure what the house to power-line icon was about.

Slice of Life by tweedle 2017-05-02T22:53:19Z

Fantastic graphics, especially all the small details. Great audio, humor and theme. All very professional and smooth. Game balance definitely needs addressing though. I found it punishingly hard at first and then completely trivial once I used the 3 shrooms. Great ending. Very impressive entry overall, great work!

Hibernaculum by redpanda 2017-05-02T09:28:46Z

Fabulous work. The game enchanted me with it's superlative graphics, sound and mood but then sadly the spell was broken with my struggle to work out the controls. I look forward to see where you take it in the future. For me as much as I like the concept of the controls I don't think minor tweaks would overcome the downsides. I love the idea of having normal controls and then certain magical actions or artifacts triggering the globe rotation. All the best with your continued efforts with the game.

Path of the Rabbit by managore 2017-05-02T23:41:11Z

Love the game. I haven't completed it yet but so far the difficulty seems pretty spot on to me. The lack of notification when I was stuck at the edge of the world the first time seemed a little odd. After failing at a long attempt it felt like the game ran to slow to keep me coming back. I think the balance seems fine but having some way to speed up the animations would of made a big difference to me. Now I want to go make a physical version of the game, any chance of a tile list? Fanstastic entry!

MiniWorlds by Mektidas 2017-05-02T01:18:09Z

Great effort making lots of little games. Not much originality in the games themselves but all very playable and engaging. I think Knights was my favorite. Obviously more could be achieved if you'd focused on less, but a considerable achievement in the time frame. In terms of graphics I think having more consistency (even in simple things like colour choices and pixel size) would go a long way to improve the look and feel and tie things together. Great work!

rovR by morrilet 2017-05-09T23:09:57Z

A wonderful feeling of exploring a wide, weird universe. I really liked the atmosphere and how you just spin off into the universe for ever when you muck up. I agree with others on the nature of the puzzles, I never really felt that aha I solved it moment, just like I was bumbling through to a solution. I found the humour a bit cloying at first but it won me over in the end and I laughed at Neptune's trident despite myself. Great work!

Supernova by Veralos 2017-04-30T10:30:00Z

Great work, I love the look and feel. A significant achievement in 48 hours. Most of my criticism mirrors the above. I played through to achieving the first heat shield to see if the next level was significantly different but it was more of the same and I'd already got bored. It can be hard to judge ramping difficulty in your own games, I can relate to the problem of having made your games to hard in the past. This does definitely need to ramp faster though. I'm curious as to how you would plan to extend it. I like the idea of it being a bit of a puzzle game on the planets with no enemies still but problems to solve. If you want to keep it pure jumping around I'd add a lot more richness to the environments so the exploring was more interesting. I think coming out of an LD with a game that's begging to be extended is a really good result. You could take this base in many directions. With the over world and psuedo-randomly generated planets you've really achieved a lot in two days. Well done.

Giant Steps by Lennart Jansson 2017-05-04T01:45:07Z

Nice little game. Well done! I tracked down your entry after being very impressed with the thoughtfulness of your feedback on Puchi Pooches. I like the graphical style of your game with the blocks and the little character. Music would be nice (although as someone who is not a musician at all and generally doesn't add it to my entries I completely understand not putting it in). A few simple sound effects on actions (move, pick up, drop, end of level) would go a long way. Personally I found the controls a little complex given the simplicity of the game play. The little prompts for what key needs to be pressed to move in each direction were a nice touch though and certainly helped. I could see the game being extended with other puzzle elements, but as a tribute to a beloved game of your childhood and as a Ludum Dare entry the scope of the game is perfect. Great work on your entry and thanks for making the effort and taking the time to provide well considered feedback to others.

In Good Hands by simple-blue 2017-05-04T07:12:50Z

Wonderful looking game, very nicely done. A bit tricky to keep track of what's going on and manage the camera but I don't now how you'd solve that really. A well thought out control scheme and mechanic but just a bit fiddly in practice for me personally. Lots of lovely little touches and details. A very clever concept and mechanic implemented superbly. Well done.

A World In Her Eye by OrbitalBlueprint 2017-05-03T23:37:21Z

Lovely game that bought back fond memories of the adventure games of my youth. Love the atmosphere and richness of the setting. All the criticisms I have, have all been covered above. Thanks for this game, I really enjoyed it.

Puchi Pooches by shru 2017-05-04T01:24:18Z

Very cool game! I am a big fan of isometric games and games with jet-packs so I was sold from the get go. I found the controls a bit tricky. I don't have a gamepad and I'm pretty old-school (I'm not used to keyboard + mouse games - never got into 3D shooters) but personally I think simpler controls would benefit the game and suit the genre. It felt a little odd to me that the aiming wasn't restricted to the lines of the isometric grid. I'd be interested to see how it plays with dropping the mouse and just having the bombs head in the direction your facing. Just one opinion. Great work, very nice entry.

I Want To Explore by joekinglake 2017-05-04T00:02:16Z

Nicely done, could easily be extended into a deeper experience.

My criticisms mirror those above: - Colours very dark, I had to crank up the brightness on my screen and zoom it right in. - I didn't know what to do at the start until I read the comments. - I didn't know what happened at the end the first time I completed it. I thought I'd died from going into the water (but maybe the cyclic uncertainty was deliberate?). - The cursor is hard to see / a bit confusing at times.

Great graphics, I like the atmosphere and the stripped down aesthetic. The music matched the overall feel very well. Great job!

Ant Clicker - Ready for your reviews!!! by AndyNice 2017-05-02T09:41:00Z

Lovely, lovely atmosphere and graphics. Well done. A perfect sized game for Ludum Dare and great theme. A shame such talent is being wasted on such an evil genre though.

Quantum Catburetor by jushiip 2017-05-01T11:12:09Z

Super cool! My reaction speed just ain't what it used to be though. Made me wish I had a gamepad. As others have said I was a bit put off by the shrinking, I like the idea but it did't work for me in practice. Expand it as you lose health may work better??? ( although then it's not a very clear health meter I guess). Love the quantum weirdness, different weapons and overall smoothness, gameplay, look, and feel. Well Done!

Den by La mecanique du plastique 2017-05-09T23:29:24Z

Wow! Fantastic atmosphere and feeling cruising through all those claustrophobic tunnels. Same problems as everyone else, got stuck on puzzle, hard to turn around, managed to detach not only head but multiple body parts. Amazing job all up. Incredibly impressive!

Space Snake by Hunter Loftis 2017-05-09T23:48:09Z

Looks fantastic, audio would obviously help a lot. Some impressive physics going on. I wanted to love this game but found it a bit tough to get into the swing of things, just a little to tricky to control. I kept trying but not getting very far and then getting frustrated. I think you need some easier gains in the early game / adjust the ramping. Great job all up, I love the colours and smoothness of everything. Could be a very strong mobile game with some fine tuning.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Cryozia by Flipsy 2017-08-01T01:48:08Z

Thanks for the Info @cornelia-xaos. Yes I suspect it's the Linux plugin.

Cryozia by Flipsy 2017-08-01T02:31:16Z

@mmason. There are actually 4 levels. The second one looks like the first but is harder. Levels 3 and 4 introduce some new elements. I did try to do music for once, but it's not a skill of mine and I felt what I ended up with would detract from the game. Thanks for playing!

Galvanica by icxon 2017-08-05T00:45:48Z

Great game. Wish I'd got to take my pants off. No problems with walls. Could of been a little harder but overall fantastic work. Very funny, engaging, looks and sounds amazing. Fabulous work!

Archimedes 2029 by Brickkid512 2017-08-01T00:17:19Z

I like the look and feel of this game with the sound and the graphics working together. It's quite odd and menacing but has a a very strong feel about. Personally I didn't feel like there was anything compelling me forward to keep playing. I think four is a bit to many resources to have to manage for a game like this. Nice work.

ROBOT POWER by Imphenzia 2017-08-02T00:17:17Z

Love the little robot animations. I played the WebGL version and it ran a little slow. Re: Controls I think just adding the ability to turn mid-air would make a big difference and others have said not having to restart. Very impressive work, really enjoyed your time lapse video.

Wall Charger Addict by Dege 2017-08-05T02:10:43Z

Very nice basic mechanics. Would of liked some indicator of progression or something to keep me going. Basic SFX would of make a big difference to. Runs very smoothly. Great work.

Carrot Labyrinth by daneestar 2017-08-05T02:21:11Z

Nice work, I like the slowing down of the music but the soundtrack got a bit much for me after a while. Tricky to turn corners at times. Solid little levels with nicely balanced gameplay. Good job.

Locker Raid by RobClemmonsJr 2017-08-01T00:58:51Z

I like the look of the graphics and the spot light. Some sounds would help a lot. I found the maze a bit to sprawling / you start with so much energy that there is no sense real sense of urgency. However for 42 mintues... FANTASTIC JOB! Good to see someone else using HaxeFlixel to. Well done.

Decarathon by TurbotFish 2017-07-31T23:54:56Z

Fantastic game! Very impressed. Loooooveee the graphics, with all the colour and details in the sprites and the different backgrounds for all the cities. The long narrow format works really well, a great choice. I played through to the ending. The difficulty needs adjusting and would give a better feel of , very easy after the first two races or so, so you don't really get a chance to use the skill your developing. Some more sponsor choices would be good or just adjusting the randomization / progression a little. I'm pretty sure I got the same sponsor option after just completing it. I would be nice if you were rewarded for the rhythm of your running / pacing things and staying in the 'jog' zone a bit more. After a few races I could just sprint through everything. Music and sound worked very well, great structure overall with a nice little ending, theme and mood were tops. Great work! I really liked this one. 5 Stars for me!

Eat pray live by wrexialmt 2017-08-05T03:22:42Z

So awesome, in the literal sense. Favourite Jam game. I got 1100 and morphed into the bigger creature, not sure how much further you can go. Very tough but keeps you coming back. Will play again. Fantastic work all of you. Bravo!

Stray Impulse by tyranosaw 2017-08-05T02:27:14Z

Nice game. Good snappy game play. I really liked the graphics of the plane, a good sense of movement with the animation. I found the initial burst when you accelerate a little much. Tough but nicely balanced. The damage indicator was a nice touch. I think a radar map would but a great addition. Great work!

Drought by tacohej 2017-08-01T00:28:28Z

Fantastic graphics especially the main sprite and the ending cave. Short and sweet. A few SFX would of gone a long way. Great job.

Extend that cord! by Zirrrus 2017-08-01T00:33:17Z

Looks good. Tough movement which is a bit frustrating bit as you say also the point of the game - my game is the same in that regard actually. A few SFX would of made a big difference. Nice work!

Zombie Power Station by CodeChomper 2017-08-01T00:06:10Z

Nice effort. Didn't run on my version of Firefox - Mac 54.0.1(64-bit). But worked fine on Chrome. Loved the graphics the title screen. It would be good to have an indication of if / how many guts you were carrying. The jump felt a bit slow and likewise I could outrun my own bullets. Sound works well. Good job.

BatteryPackMan by junjunlowpoly 2017-08-05T02:16:16Z

I really loved the graphics. Especially all the different monsters and background buildings. Really interesting choice of colours. The gameplay didn't really grab me but interesting concept and very good use of theme. Nice job.

Robit Needs Love by domrein 2017-08-01T00:47:09Z

No luck on my Firefox either Mac 54.0.1 (64-bit). Fine on Chrome. I like the little robot guy and his extender neck. Nice balance between the two game elements. SFX work well. Some difficulty progression would go a long way. Good job!

Constellation Exploration by matfernandestt 2017-08-02T00:22:50Z

Nice game. Very similar concept to mine, except a much better implementation I think. The dash felt a little weird but was good once I got used to it. Zoom out at start works well. Finished all five levels. Great job.

e Negative by jhandsy 2017-08-02T00:38:10Z

Love it! Really liked the fights, they reminded me of Prince of Persia. Controls graphics and sound all perfect. Amazing work!

Berzerk Hunt by TheFunAttic 2017-08-05T01:47:19Z

Very well presented. Slightly confusing controls. My 13 year old self would of loved all the senseless violence. 37 year old me is slightly bored, but still my favourite game about killing cute fluffy animals this Jam so far. Very nice graphics and extremely polished entry. Great work!

Despotism 3k by NikolayKuznetsov 2017-08-05T02:45:44Z

Amazing graphics and sound. Gameplay a little confusing. First two times I lost it said I ran out of power but my power meter was still showing I had plenty. Had to go back and give it another go to work out I'd run out of people. Also as someone else noted it should be +2 on the reproduction center. Small little things but quite confusing from an otherwise flawless entry. Fantastic job!

Rat blasteroid by Massimog 2017-08-01T00:23:43Z

I couldn't get past the first room which I was stuck in, so was just there shooting the same mouse over and over again. Definitely not the same as the screenshot. I tried to get anywhere else but couldn't work it out. Maybe something wrong with the build? Am I missing something?

Wayside : A world awaits you by TheCodeFactory 2017-08-02T00:30:43Z

Really cool. I like this a lot. It would definitly work well on mobile. The controls took a little getting used but then I really liked them. I would make touching the end point slightly less forgiving. One my favourite games so far. Great work!

Pickup all the power! by acoto87 2017-08-05T02:33:36Z

Very nice puzzles with solid game play. Basic but functional sound and graphics. The instructions hovering in the top right were a bit annoying. Good concept, Nice work.

Disco Lives by rjhelms 2020-04-25T02:32:18Z

Very fun, had me engaged through to the end. Great idea and tight arcade feel, love the graphics and the audio it really got you into the spirit of the game, fantastic work.

Another Bloody Day by Flipsy 2020-04-23T13:04:03Z

@jantunes Thanks for the feedback on the keyboard layout and for sticking it out regardless 😊

Another Bloody Day by Flipsy 2020-04-23T13:06:47Z

@saering We were going to add another more gamey scene where you race to school. But run out of time as life got in the way. Thanks for your comments.

Another Bloody Day by Flipsy 2020-04-24T11:36:58Z

@joelle Thanks very much for your lovely comments. We hope to add the missing scene eventually so there is some more and redo the typing scene so we can do a mobile version.

Another Bloody Day by Flipsy 2020-04-25T10:41:14Z

@tudvari Thanks for the feedback, sorry it was so difficult for you, I should of known better. We will endeavour to make a keyboard independent version. Thanks for playing.

Torchkick by Wekaj 2020-04-23T11:34:32Z

Awesome, most fun I've had playing a game in this jam yet. Very tough. Difficulty ramped up very quick but in a good way, gave it a nice arcady feel. Hard to come up with a simple mechanic that is compelling like this is. Very addictive. Fantastic job.

The Flower of The Elmhearst by SarahFrisk 2020-04-21T03:51:05Z

Great work guys, intriguing story and very polished art. I got stuck in a loop going back to the library over and over and couldn't get past that bit at all. Good to see another story based entry.

Bargaining with Supreme Beings So They Don't Destroy Us All by garygreen 2020-04-21T07:22:32Z

Great feel to the game, I really like the style of it and the humor in your writing. Got a little tedious moving through the maze each time. Great work, keep it up!

MitosiVilization by Olivier Millochau 2020-04-24T08:18:46Z

Good work, you fit in a lot of game play for a game jam. I found the text a little small and the game froze on me at some point after I built a building (HTML5 version). I really liked the intro, nice touch, Great job.

Defend the Loot! by ArtemFTW 2020-04-23T11:23:26Z

Cool idea with a solid implementation. I think you voted for the same theme I did ;) Obviously lots of directions you could take this in with more time. Game crashed on me, and froze up a couple of times. All up, great job.

Defend the Loot! by ArtemFTW 2020-04-24T05:38:31Z

@artemftw I can't remember sorry, I was on my second round of building blocks. If I had to guess I'd say I may have been removing a block.

Snowy Night by Roalinn 2020-04-24T08:52:42Z

I loved it, very engrossing. Amazing mood, superb graphics and a happy ending. It melted my cold heart. Love, love, love.

The Well of the Past by Chocolat-Endive 2020-04-25T02:44:24Z

Very engrossing, great work. The music and illustrations really pulled me into the world. Well done.

FIREGUARD by Puszkee 2020-04-21T08:38:27Z

Very cool, I love the graphics and atmosphere created along with the audio. I had one game where no monsters ever came for some reason, but other that that everything was very smooth. Great work.

Dragon Egg by Heiach 2020-04-25T02:19:49Z

Really like the graphics and audio. Level 2 felt very difficult which would be fine but I got frustrated at how long it took to start again. A but of a confusing switch when the first level teaches you to go down and then second level you are going across. Loved the style of it. Great work!

A Fairy Tale by pixnpickstudio 2020-04-24T10:52:56Z

I really liked the intro and the lovely atmosphere. I found the actual game pretty unplayable on keyboard. Good sound design. It drew me, I just couldn't to much once I was there. Fantastic work on the design elements.

Houston, We Have A Problem by Steve Dragon 2020-04-21T07:47:50Z

Very hard to work our what's going on, but quite engaging once you get over the learning curve. I still wasn't clear the point of buying things with materials (is it just for the kudos?). Some more balancing and clear instructions would go a long way. I really liked the different animal design for the ships, and the constant pressure to keep your colony alive, you tied the theme with the mechanics very nicely. Good job.

Fleurist by TheJonu 2020-04-24T08:08:47Z

Good job, I loved your flower drawings. The way the items came alive on rollover was a very nice touch.

How to Air by kwaku 2020-04-22T09:56:16Z

Lovely, lovely art and animation, very well done. Liked the cute little wrap around world and the quirky SFX. I had all but three elements but picked up to many syringes and couldn't see my balloon. While playing the game I kept going to quit in frustration but then sticking it out and working out the next bit, which I see as a good sign. Great work, really created a strong sense of place and being trapped on a little world.

Save Your Wife! by Sparsha Dhar 2020-04-22T09:33:11Z

Cool game, great work on the graphics. Certainly an original concept. A bit confusing that you're wife can get hurt but you don't. I felt a bit bad throwing her up in the air, especially when I dropped her . Good work on the game. It would be interesting as a two player co-op game where the second player controlled the wife and she had some agency as well. Maybe she could be shooting wolves from the air with her mad hunting skillz.

Feed The Fire by Nuanda79 2020-04-24T07:48:57Z

Cool game, lovely art and setting. Good difficulty level, took me quite a few tries. I liked the background music and the sound of the crackling fire. Great job!

Sly as a fox by KarCode 2020-04-24T10:42:16Z

Lovely art, I really like the environment. Levels are very short, it would be nice to have levels progress automatically. A few very simple sound effects would make a big difference. Great job getting a game made!

The Plant Shop by Conor Galvin 2020-04-24T09:08:45Z

Nice game, I like all the different flowers. Felt like it had ended just as it had started though. Maybe you could have a high score so you can keep going rather than end after 60. Great work. Nice and polished.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Can you dig it? by Flipsy 2021-04-28T10:56:28Z

@fiakaiera thanks for the comments. Yes I certainly did run out of time and was keen to do a level 4 at least but had to call it. Keen to keep working on it though and make it a bit more puzzle-driven as @teawhydee suggested and add lots more weird stuff. Thanks for playing.

Can you dig it? by Flipsy 2021-04-28T10:58:59Z

Hey @hapiel what's "yes you can" a reference to? Is that another game?

Can you dig it? by Flipsy 2021-04-28T22:10:47Z

Hey @badabooom63 great to see you stuck it out to the end. Yeah you're right the digging sound is annoying. I ran out of time to go back and replace my place-holder audio, but I'm keen to keep working on the game so glad you liked the game play. Thanks for playing.

Abyssus in Anima by Tygrak 2021-05-04T11:30:40Z

Really cool combat system. I fought the brain, but found the heart a bit too hard. It kept me coming back but I gave up in the end. Some combat SFX would be good. Nice work.

Falling For Treasure by Laaph 2021-05-10T11:17:39Z

I really love the handmade art and music. I thought it was too difficult at the start, but then I kept coming back for more so I guess it was just right. I played the web version and found my player was off screen a lot (even after zooming out in my browser a bunch) which made it frustrating to play. Good job, that drums beat is still going in my head and the turtle will always live in my heart.

Malleus Pistrium by piscythe 2021-04-28T09:00:21Z

Nice work, I like the music and the menacing shark. A couple of SFX would go a long way. I like the idea of a killer shark flying through space underground.

LD Double Feature: D'pur & Deepir by John Chapman 2021-05-02T05:37:15Z

Fun, simple game. I found the sprite animations frustrantigly slow, I don't know how deliberate that was to make the game harder but it made it feel like things weren't responsive as the game speeds up. Love the concept and the cute sprites. The soundtrack and sound effects work well too. Fantastic job for you first jam, well done!

Aye! Aye! Captain! by Lumous 2021-05-01T07:54:58Z

I really like all the different creatures and the sense of exploration. I played the web version and the game was coming up cropped oddly on my 13" laptop screen. I almost couldn't start as the close button for the window at the start was offscreen. I hid my dock and managed to just reach it. Then my character tended to be offscreen before the scrolling would kick it. Movement felt a little odd and the hit detection with the environment was confusing in a couple of places. I really like the feel though, floating down through turtles swimming to the music made me smile. Well done.

Autumn Hike by Brusi 2021-05-05T07:31:30Z

Loved this game. Great graphics and audio. lots of fun zooming in and out. I like all the little characters. Gameplay was very obvious and straight forward but that didn't detract at all as it was such an enjoyable experience going along for the ride. Great work!

Get Rich or Dive Trying by Human Writes Code 2021-04-28T11:50:22Z

Great game, I really love the boat sprites reminds me of the look of the pirate games I always wanted as a kid in computer game magazines in the early nineties but never got hold of. I'm a bit split on the controls as well, I like it being keyboard rather than mouse and appreciate the controls are meant to be part of the challenge, it's just that all the games you've played in the past confuse you into think the relative to the boat controls should work, although I think they could and still retain the challenge with the right balance. The music and graphics really set the mood well and I liked all the humorous treasure descriptions. I had an issue with the web build where the controls wouldn't work after I got a game over and had another attempt. So I had to refresh browser each time I restarted. Very chill, relaxing game. Good job and all the best for your continued efforts developing it.

Deeper and Deeper a Self Care Journey by saoi-games 2021-05-01T07:45:26Z

You have a lovely voice, but I found the occasional static and the way the audio was mixed distracting and I found it difficult to engage properly with the exercises. The time count-down was partially offscreen when I played the web version. Thanks for your efforts to help us all relax.

Dig Frenzy by Boon 2021-05-10T08:23:14Z

Solid start for a tower defense game, a bit more variety and some sound would go a long way. I didn't find the first level hard at all, but didn't feel very motivated to continue after the first level. Would be interesting to see what dynamics would emerge with some path following units and some not path following.

Trek Through Billy by dk5000p 2021-05-10T11:28:31Z

Loved it! Pure awesome. I'm a big fan or ear wax sculptures and never see them mentioned in big media, so great to see someone giving them the attention they deserve. Love the characters and voice overs. Lots of fun, really enjoyed the ride. Well done.

Mined mines by Alexey Kuzovkov 2021-04-30T08:39:16Z

Cute sprites, I like the music as well. The idea is cool but the mechanics didn't quite click for me in practice the way they do with minesweeper. Maybe my brain is just getting it too old and slow. A couple of sound effects would go a long way. Good job.

Falling Rock by snip_man 2021-04-30T09:09:56Z

I love falling rock, I wish I could be falling rock just cruising down the mountain all day. I even activated the secret level where you go so fast you fly into the mountain and just hang around in the earth, that was pretty chill. Genuinely one of the most enjoyable games I've played this Jam, something very satisfying about the simplicity of just cruising on down and down. Very nice movement, Nice work. I was hoping I could start again and cruise down the other side of the mountain but alas... Well done!

Deeper and Deeper by John llyod Apolo 2021-04-28T09:10:53Z

I really liked the monster graphics and the music worked well. Fun to play with lots of different things to balance and a good progression of difficulty. Well done. Some punchy six when you destroy each head would work well.

Into The Depths by Jason Wilson 2021-05-01T08:29:31Z

Very cool game. I assume there is no ending? I tapped out after 1500m because it was long past anything new happening and didn't seem much else to do. Didn't really want to go back up at that point. Audio didn't work for me on web build on a Mac unfortunately. I really like the graphics, and the push your luck element is nicely balanced at the start. Could be very cool with more and more creatures further down and some way to mitigate the tedium of coming back up at that point. Well done.

Miner Creeper by lokt02 2021-05-10T08:36:16Z

Congrats on you first Ludum Dare entry. I like the concept. I found the controls a bit complicated for what they are doing. The game seems to have a lot of features going on that complicate things without contributing to making the game fun to play. I would think about stripping things right back to the core mechanic and focus on making that really fun before adding other things in. You managed to get a lot done, congratulations.

SUBERDEEP by sendnoose 2021-04-29T07:23:41Z

Great work. Good effort on putting those detailed instructions in there at the start. As others have said I like how you've used the darkness to build a sense of ominous doom and make it more difficult once you need your flash lights. Good overall presentation with the sounds, graphics, and mechanics all well done and working together cohesively. Well done.

SPERMA by the neon shark 2021-04-28T09:25:33Z

Really cool game. I was taken back at first but then I got drawn in to the hypnotic groove. Great mood, I really like the music and the graphics are very effective. Great use of camera. 'The ovum was not impressed' made me laugh. I like the colours as well, hard to find anything to fault here, well done!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Ephyra by Flipsy 2024-10-07T22:58:08Z

Thanks very much for the detailed feedback @tuism, much appreciated and insightful. Didn't quite have time to fix that edge case gravity bug, sorry to hear it ruined your run.

Ephyra by Flipsy 2024-10-08T09:25:27Z

Thanks very much for the feedback and ideas @aweskybear glad to hear someone made it to level 3. We'll take your notes on board for the post jam version.

Ephyra by Flipsy 2024-10-08T10:04:28Z

Thanks @xsil that was a deliberate feature so you could make a miraculously recovery but I can see how it would be confusing. I'll think about fine tuning it in the post jam version.

TINY PACK by xk_the_name 2024-10-07T12:31:12Z

Great entry, very engaging and nicely woven together with the story and cute animal dice. Quite addictive. At times it feels a little too luck driven for my taste with some forced decisions. I like the combination of the tactical choices of how to use and save your dice combined with the overall strategy of dice selection. Very polished and masterful entry overall. Great work!

Carrot Patch by Historymaker118 2024-10-08T10:13:38Z

Nice job, my kind of game. Love the arcade style and fast paced action. Cute sprites and cool source code pic. Good job!

Home place by detectiveLosos 2024-10-08T01:11:56Z

I had a great time exploring this magical little word. I loved the graphical style and perspective. Lovely illustration. I got stuck for a while as I didn't notice the lobster graphic. The text got cut off in a couple of places and I found myself accidentally re-triggering the dialogue a lot trying to dismiss the final text. I really enjoyed the exploration aspect of the game and the simple sound and music set the mood well. Great effort I really liked this one.

Tiny Companions by MidnightMist 2024-10-08T03:51:12Z

Cute little platformer. The rhino attack could do with some SFX / other feedback as it is a bit confusing if it is doing anything or not likewise the button. Very cute little sprites, good job.

TinyCon by Briibot 2024-10-07T22:55:28Z

Great game. Very ambitious for a jam. I'm a big fan of isometric graphics and these look fantastic! Love the TinyCon concept and the different elements in the convention hall, the choice of marbles etc. The hey marble game mechanics works well. The lack of any sounds is a shame but obviously you had a lot on your plate. Even a few small sounds for the marble game would of gone a long way. Great job, hope you keep working on it.

Apex Elysium by Bogden 2024-10-07T12:56:34Z

Great job, very hypnotic and engrossing. Music works perfectly with the flow of the game. Very polished entry. Well done!

Misfit's Daycare by RobotChimp 2024-10-08T02:03:31Z

Great job! I had a lot of fun playing this. Took a while to figure out what was going on but that was half the fun. Good pacing building up to the frenetic end. Very nice art and the sound works well with the gameplay. I love when the critters turn into monsters. Very polished and on theme entry. Perfect for what it is. Well done!

Cosmic Themes by AweSkyBear 2024-10-07T22:16:40Z

I liked the ending animation. Not really a game as such but very atmospheric. I thought the music worked well despite the apology.

Leafling builders by Kotolazer 2024-10-07T22:07:56Z

Great job building a very imaginative and rich world. Interesting set of mechanics, I enjoyed jumping on the branches to get rid of the dead leaves. The gameplay got a bit repetitive after a while but the richly detailed characters and animals kept me playing through to the end. Very chill and relaxing. Fantastic job on the art, so many detail!

Frame Wizards 2 by AlezJL 2024-10-07T21:49:54Z

Nice work, I made it to the +1 screen and got the egg but didn't manage to summon the dragon. Had some trouble getting things offscreen with right clicking not working for me. Mostly just trying all the different combinations to see what happens but kept me engaged. The alters looks good and I like the little frog sprite. Well done.

Frogi by JEMH2K 2024-10-08T01:20:07Z

I love the little scroll down intro and the graphics. Sound and music work well. The slowness of the controls make it very unforgiving, I think speeding it up a little would of made it more enjoyable for me personally but appreciate it was likely a deliberate decision. Embedded version played fine for me. I liked catching the pesky drones Great job!

Lint by turturi 2024-10-07T22:23:39Z

Very nice, I like the clean minimal graphics. The setting made me think of Alley Kat. Love the main character and great dialogue. Ever onwards to the eternal soup... Well done!

Annihilation of Tiny Strugglers by XSiL 2024-10-07T13:05:25Z

Made me laugh, love it. Crashed in my Browser (Brave on OS X) after game over. Controls felt a little bit odd. I enjoyed it more just smashing into things than trying to swat them away. Love your big colourful main character, the sense of scale, and the astronomical creature count down. Great sense of humour.

Hexoban by PlasmaPuffs 2024-10-08T04:01:47Z

Simple but well implemented. Very solid GFX and sound with lots of nice little touches. Very polished with good difficulty ramp. Excellent submission.
