Fun Little Platformer
Impressive little metroidvania! I like the artstyle and vibe.
Cute little platformer. The rhino attack could do with some SFX / other feedback as it is a bit confusing if it is doing anything or not likewise the button. Very cute little sprites, good job.
I can't rate, but I did play through. Glad to see you guys fixed up the issues brought up about the softlock areas and improved the overall mechanics. Good lil puzzle platformer for a short jam game. Some minor issues but nothing that can't be overlooked. Great work!
Meru from your server here :D This is such a nice puzzle plattformer. Cute sprites as well. I enjoyed playing it!!
@barryrichter @imberny Thank you so much!!! Appreciate the kind comments :) @flipsy Unfortunately just didnt have time to do most of our audio touch ups and general polish. Definitely noted for next time! @seth-funk Appreciate you playing and leaving a comment Seth~ @meru Hey Meru!! Nice to see you here, glad you liked it. I gotta play your game, the art looks amaze!!!
The game where I died a thousand times 😅. I also found a small bug: if a firefly overlaps a platform, the shadows are calculated incorrectly. I liked the shadow mechanics and the difficulty. Great job!Screenshot_38.jpg
Really enjoyed this cute metroidvania - one of the most fun games I played in this jam! Even though there were no tutorials present in the game, I managed to get the hang of the game mechanics and they were pretty straightforward! Jumping was a little tight, but it did not cause frustration (phew, glad that the saved bugs don't abandon you upon death (also a very clever checkpoint system))

Cool game!
Very impressive to make a metroidvania in a game jam (trust me, I know!). I like the concept of sending out creatures with different abilities quite a lot. The beetle is especially cool, as a creative "double jump alternative" that can also do more than just gain you some height. Very creative mechanic.
I overall also liked your pixel art quite a bit. Looks nice!
It can be a bit fiddly with the controls being split between two different input devices (mouse & keyboard) where I'd have expected switching between creatures to be on the mousewheel and also "w" or up arrow to be jump. But I beat the game still so it's fine.
Very impressive scale of the game too, even with two distinct environments. I didn't really understand the ending though. I only just entered the 2nd environment with the red walls, lit a single torch, and then a spider (which looks awesome!) comes and a flying thing flies to my character and I get a repeating ending cutscene... Hm not sure what to make of it.
While we're at things that confused me: For a long time I didn't know that it's possible to switch between creatures using q and e so the cave section really didn't make any sense to me. My bad if it did say that you can switch via q and e in the game... If it didn't, well I think that it should. We actually have a similar problem in our LD submission where we forgot to write ingame that you can rotate pieces with right click. Anyway, that made me wander around for ages in that dark cave.
Personally I think the enemies have a bit too much HP. Not a big deal though.
Even with these little issues, I still think this is an outstanding jam submission to be proud of! Well done!
