LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Press Space To Jump The Gap by foolmoron 2021-04-29T02:34:32Z

Great take on the theme, I love the creativity behind this. One of the few games I actually played through twice. My only critique would be that the zooming sound effect got very repetitve and overbearing over time.

SPACE DEMONZ by stoz 2021-04-26T11:49:25Z

Nice and fluid controls, endless playability. I'll be coming back to this one.

Deepest Sword by Strega 2021-04-29T01:25:05Z

Definitely my favorite game of the jam. So well done. I cant give much more input than has already been given. Keep making games!

LD Double Feature: D'pur & Deepir by John Chapman 2021-04-26T16:07:36Z

@vectrex28 Unfortunately,I don't get the reference. Sorry! But if you could send me a screenshot of what comes up when to try to run it, that would be a huge help.

LD Double Feature: D'pur & Deepir by John Chapman 2021-04-26T22:05:17Z

@theblondebass Thanks so much! I was attmepting to make it so the walled off situation didn't happen, but I guess something is going wrong with my tile generation code. I appreciate the feedback.

@bidentworks @ellenbjohnson @retro-banana-man-nl @monkosum @cdunham Thank you all so much for taking the time to check this out. Looks like Cdunham and Retro got about as far as I ever got. Maybe someone can get to 2000 with some good luck?

LD Double Feature: D'pur & Deepir by John Chapman 2021-05-02T01:29:50Z

Thanks for checking it out @frogman! I appreciate the kind words. I totally agree with you and would definitely do more to get that transition clearer if I put more time into it.

Fore! by TheBlondeBass 2021-04-26T22:11:23Z

Very clever and innovative mechanic. I'll be coming back to this one.

Chthonic Brilliance by cassowary 2021-05-08T20:59:14Z

I love the readability of the pixel art. It's mechanically and visually really solid. One small gripe with it is that the sound of the slime moving doesnt seem to sync up with the animation. Also, the puzzle design and the fact that the hints are actual signs in the game are both very clever.

The Dive by raptor851 2021-04-29T00:46:44Z

Really love the art style and overall mood of this piece. I think you all did a great job with it. I would have liked to be able to find the tools around the ship(?) and carry them all around, I'm not sure backtracking after checking the problems was helpful for the experience. But the awesome work with the ending sequence. I thought I had somehow broke the game at first.

Deep down the Abyss by Kyrios 2021-04-29T01:34:16Z

Fantastic job on the audio and visual front. As others were saying, I think a little more player feedback would be helpful. Not too much so you can maintain the amount of mystery you were trying to portray, but enough to more clearly communicate the effects of the choices I made. Some of that could have definitely came down to time. But overall, great job!

Deirdre & Pedro by Frogravity 2021-04-29T21:05:26Z

Well done! It looks like you and I had the same kind of approach to the theme. You were definitely able to get more done though. Being able to implement the upgrades tied to mechanics is very impressive!

Lost in the Reef by VeniTheRich 2021-04-29T00:19:57Z

I really enjoyed the overall vibe of the game. Once I got used to it, I actually enjoyed the way the submarine handled. Given more time, I'd add some player feedback to let them know when the oxygen is getting low and some visual landmarks in the maze to help get your bearing on where you're at instead of everything looking so similar. But either way, great job.

Astral Descension by nyxkn 2021-04-29T21:16:28Z

Great vibes on this one and I like the main mechanic. Good job at making a replayable jam game. I'd just say that the color difference between the actual walkable paths and the void was almost impossible to notice on one of my monitors.

DEEP GOLF by Rendy 2021-04-29T02:09:27Z

I love this one. Please keep going with this one and let us know when it comes out. The amount of polish and clever design that you were able to implement for the jam is really impressive. The music is also perfect.

A Dungeon by PxlDev 2021-05-02T01:51:06Z

The level design and art on this are terrific. You did such a great job making a fun experience start to finish. Very impressed with the amount you got done in 24 hours. Congrats! I would just say that the collision boxes on the hazards are a little too large and the camera movement feels very choppy right now and could use some smoothing out. Overall, great experience though.

Deep Dive to the wormhole by Retro Banana Man NL 2021-04-26T16:18:16Z

Great job! Getting a fully working (and good) gameplay loop going in a jam is not easy. Like the previous comment says, having to mine while grounded actually keeps it engaging. Could use some more polish to really sell the digging and the mechanics, but it's a jam, so that's pretty much always the case and it didn't stop me from enjoying my time with it.

Pigs War by sharkmax218 2021-04-29T20:58:45Z

Great job! One of the funnier games I've played in this jam.

Deep&Dyp by Dyp54 2021-04-26T22:04:00Z

I was unable to open the file. I believe you need to upload the .exe!

Defiled Reflection by BidentWorks 2021-04-26T16:30:51Z

I really like this one. The art is looking crispy, the main mechanic is solid, and it has a great vibe. Given more time to polish some of the rough edges, I could spend a lot of time playing this. In particular, the collision on the hazards aren't very forgiving, and buffering the movement inputs would be a huge help. BTW, I didnt realize at first you needed to maximize the web player to see the entire room/rooms.
