LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Diggy hole by someone 2021-05-15T20:46:46Z

My GOD, what a GREAT game. For some reason it really scratched an itch and I played it for several hours. It is AMAZING! I love the calm background song and the soundeffects are good. GREAT job! LOOK AT THE GOLD  Look at the gold.png Finished project: The result.png

MineWell by superpokeunicorn 2021-04-29T17:19:05Z

Wow! I am amazed! This is looking very nice and the controls with the animation work very well. The song is good too. I finished all the 3 levels, but after dying a few times on the second level I stopped trying to collect all the gems. I liked the addition that you could mine the tile above you. I hoped you could kill the bug with a charged attack, but alas that did not work. It would've made the game maybe much easier and not more enjoyable. Well Done!

SPACE DEMONZ by stoz 2021-04-29T17:35:28Z

Fun game with tricky controls. A great system under the hood, although it flies out of control at some point. Who needs balance though :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Depth Command by Baconinvader 2021-04-29T19:24:11Z

Nice game, I like the concept! It looks good, it would've been nice to have some background music. It took a while to kill the last few submarines because I was at the bottom and had to go up all the way. I did win though :D Great work!

LD Double Feature: D'pur & Deepir by John Chapman 2021-04-29T16:51:40Z

It was a very fun game, when things went wrong it was because of myself. It got pretty fast in the end and died at 1120 ft as max. Very great job for a Jam Game and The art is minimalistic and very well done.

Disco Inferno by Simon Rahnasto 2021-04-29T18:21:16Z

THIS IS EPIC! I loved the old tv like graphics and the voice acting was AMAZING! It was a very nice bullet hell like game! I realized I read that there was a dodge roll, but it didn't seem to work. didn't make it less enjoyable thouhg  Great job!

The Greatest Thing by PBG 2021-04-29T17:08:09Z

Very nice game, well done! I did like the game overall, but I got a bit confused by the orb. I like that you couldn't get out of a certain range, but sometimes it dropped randomly and flew back a part where I just carried it up and I didn't know why it happened. I was trying to get it up the long chain, it dropped and carried on. When I received the second orb I stopped. I could see the challenges it brought, but i was getting a little frustrated when I carried it 5 blocks and flew back 3 of them with in my mind that I also had to get the second orb. I think it is a fun gimmick, unfortunately I didn't fully understand it.

Boombastic Fall by William Rizzi 2021-04-29T19:10:16Z

Art is great, I had to play alone so it was not that much fun. I can see the fun when playing with another person. Unfortunately there was no music or sound effects. Overall a very good entry!

Ascending Dungeon by BenPeterson 2021-04-29T19:03:19Z

This game was more compelling then I thought at first sight. I really enjoyed it and it was very fun to think through what to use and who to attack. It would've been nice to have some kind of music in the background, luckily it had sounds so it was not completely silent. Very nice job!

Depravity by Shone 2021-05-15T18:46:18Z

Nice game, good work!

You Know The Drill by Maksime 2021-04-29T18:10:40Z

It was a very nice game, in the beginning a bit frustrating since I didn't understand how the jetpack worked and died due to that (I might have missed the explanation of that). After I figured it out that it had to do with the energy it was a very fun game and a nice finish to it. It would've been nice to see what ore selled for what price (after you sell the first one). Also the oxygen didn't really play a role since I needed to get back up with my jetpack, it could've been implemented as an extra meter that ticks down over time. Also it would've been nice to see a number of energy instead of a percentage, since I did know before the upgrade I needed about 15%, but since I could go deeper do I still need 15% or is it less or more? That made it harder to make good decisions. Personally I found it unfotunate that you had to make a 2x height space to get left and right, on the other hand it gave it a bit more of a challenge to make the decision go down or go left/right. Overall a great job, nice visuals and good sound in the background.

Geodiver 48 by exofrenon 2021-05-15T18:25:37Z

Pretty fun concept, although it was pretty hard in my opinion (not that is a bad thing). It would've been nice to have some epic music on the background. A very solid entry for a game jam, great job!

Ninja Skeleton by melhem_fares 2021-05-15T18:53:36Z

Nice game, I did like the music a lot. Took me a bit to figure out that s was the attack button. I realised later the keybindings are under the game in the link. Pretty nice work, good job!

Westest Showdown by Nachodlv 2021-05-15T18:34:56Z

Nice game, I got a tier 2 damage upgrade and unfortunately did not really feel a difference. Overall it was pretty fun and the sounds were great!

Paperload - Deep Bass Edition by frokes 2021-04-29T19:38:06Z

You guys did a WONDERFUL job! I loved the game, the art style is very cool and the game handeled pretty well. It was unfotunate the ores directly translated into money, I assume a lack of time to implement the selling part. I thought I could beat my drones to the bottom, but it was locked off. The ending is great, I liked the music overall, but the end music was epic! I enjoyed that a lot! Great work!

Bones & Guns Elevator runs by Maybeagoose 2021-04-29T18:29:32Z

It was a fun game, unfortunatly an enemy did not appear in floor 6 and the elevetor was stuck there. A nice addition would've been to switch weapons with a button instead of walking over them, since I switched weapons on accident a few times. Besides that a very nice game. Great work!

Bones & Guns Elevator runs by Maybeagoose 2021-04-29T18:52:57Z

@maybeagoose I can see you did try and my comments are just things you could improve on. It is not meant as a harsh comment and it is a jam game bugs happen

The Chase by Nikl 2021-04-29T17:45:11Z

Great work! I really enjoyed the game. The music was fenomonal, the piano part was very relaxing and in the last level I heared the lava in the background it was great. The sound effects were also hilarious, going to the next level cracked me up! Very well done!

Dwarven Depths by steelax 2021-04-29T18:49:50Z

I was stuck in the beginning, I missed the key. After I found it I enjoyed the game, although I might have cheesed the broken stairs, since you can jump up to the lever by jumpoing over the railing. I couldn't figure out how to do it else. I'm glad I did since I finished the rest of the game. It was unfortunate I couldn't do the puzzle with the gems wrong I was curious what would happen the ending was very exciting, unfotunate you didn't have more time. If you do continue with this project please let me know I'm curious how the story would continue. Overall a great game and good voicing acting!

Deeper Into The Forest by siberpunk01 2021-05-15T19:16:02Z

Nice game, it seemed a bit dark at some points. It made it very hard to see where platforms were. Overall a solid entry, great job!

Deep Dive to the wormhole by Retro Banana Man NL 2021-04-29T16:53:49Z

@superpokeunicorn Thank you very much for the feedback, it has most of the inspiration from Motherload ;) I can imagine you stopped at level 3. There was not much time left so I had to cut things out.

@john-chapman Thank you for your kind words

Deep Dive to the wormhole by Retro Banana Man NL 2021-04-29T16:55:10Z

@pbg Not sure if I'll flesh it out at some point. Although there were a lot of ideas I wanted to add, if I do I'll keep you posted!

Deep Dive to the wormhole by Retro Banana Man NL 2021-04-29T17:38:28Z

@nikl Thank you for playing! I agree, I wanted to add something like fuel it would've made it harder and probably also more enjoyable. I didn't had the time unfotunately, thank you for the feedback

@maybeagoose Thanks for playing!

Deep Dive to the wormhole by Retro Banana Man NL 2021-04-30T10:55:59Z

@offdutyextractors adding enemies is actually a pretty good idea. If I'll continue to work on it I should implement that! Thanks for playing and the feedback @exofrenon thanks for playing and the feedback. I agree some extra mechanics would help and in hindsight one shop could've been sufficient. Also I agree on the art I wanted to put more time into it, but instead I figured out how to make random level generation. The audio is dat from OK I agree, it was too add some sounds because a silent game is even worse in my opinion. @nachodlv thanks for playing! Ooh that's unfortunate, I should've made it first show a message are you sure to quit.

Deep Dive to the wormhole by Retro Banana Man NL 2021-04-30T10:57:02Z

@shone you can sell your ores at the shop by pressing space on the Right there is an upgrade house, you can press space and buy upgrades for your drill. Thanks for playing

Deep Dive to the wormhole by Retro Banana Man NL 2021-05-01T11:53:55Z

@melhem-fares You are correct not a coincidence, I didn't have enough time to diverge from the basic game. It took me a while to get the random level generation to work, but I learned a lot by it so I don't mind. I cut the visual cue's to safe time, I don't say it was a wise decision  Thank you for your kind words and playing the game.

@someone It brought back memories for me too. I agree in hindsight I should've combined those. Thanks for playing!

@siberpunk01 You can't drill when hovering in the air, so that might be it. I agree that I should've combined those. Thanks for playing!

Baby Drill by aburron 2021-04-29T17:33:43Z

Very nice game, it looked good and the childish xylophone sound was very fitting. The background noise was a nice touch, so it wasn't silent. I got pretty far, but I had to constantly keep cooling down my toy and was not really able to do much more (I was at least at 50+). Would've been nice to see what your final score (depth) was after you got game over. Overall very well done!

deep madness by domsse interactive 2021-05-15T19:32:17Z

A fun addictive game! Very easy to understand (when openened in full screen  ). Love the song! Very solid submission, great job!

Encephaloexcavation by OffDutyExtractors 2021-05-15T18:20:50Z

Pretty good game! I played it 3 times and reached the boss in my last run, but I got locked in the corner and died. Music and sounds are great, the art is good. It would've been nice to see how deep you were, to check your stats, see the HP of the boss and have some kind of score system. Maybe for a future implementation if you continue working on it. overall a very solid Jam game, great job!
