Fun game with nice art, transition scenes and effects. If I could add one thing it would be some background music, but it's already great as is. Good job!
I am a big fan of Minesweepr and this is a fun take at it. Fits well to the theme. I think I would have liked square fields better, but I might be biased there. In my opinion hexagonal minesweeper just makes it harder to see where you can flag.
This is fun to play! I couldn't make it below 2500 though, because the whole platform just gets flooded with enemies. One thing buged me a bit about the platform: you can't walk behind the metal chains. That killed me a few times. But appart from that it is a polished and fun game, good job.
Nice game and very cool art. I had some trouble understanding the games mechanic though. It seems you can't get far away from your body and need to throw the other player down to get deeper? In my case that always resulted in both players taking a lot of damage from all kinds of entities. Is it possible to fight the fish somehow? The grappler wasn't doing anytning against them for me.
Very cool art and audio. I like the idea and little story and the game seems quite polished for the little time you had (sound/effect volume sliders, "how to play" button). Maybe there could have been some effect for building certain buildings at certain positions? At the moment it is: build where ever there is space.
Nice art with surprising details in some random deep corners of the map. I had some trouble with the controls, since navigating with my mouse kept going into random directions. I used arrow keys instead which works nicely until yoou need to click forward a lot (e.g. carrying the suitcase ). The idea with the objects changing your physics is cool. I especially liked the message in a bottle pulling you up.
Nice game with a cool theme and good mechanics. The player seems to get stuck when jumping too close to a wall, but other than that it's a very polished game, good job!
Very nice theme interpretation and cute art, good job! Also a big chocolate + cookie fan here, so I understand the pain of the cookie monster xD Maybe a suggestion for the gameplay: how about the cookie falling into the glass if you press the arrow key for too long?
Fun submission, thank you! The art and audio fits and the "sub" puns are just hilarious. The hint about the last checkpoint was helpful, since I failed to find it at first. In general it would be nice to mark the checkpoints more explicit in my opinion. One small and funny bug I found: the sub can fly out of the ocean and actually leave the intended game area  I also had infinite mustard bombs somehow.
Very polished game with good build in instructions. It feels complete and it's fun to play, good job. I would like to have a mechanic though that keeps me from staying underground for too long. If you only dig left and right, ladders are no limiting factor. Some holes in the map might have already helped (maybe lava further down), because you would have to dig around and thus use up ladders.
@lelek-hunor-kadosa Thanks, I am glad you liked it. Making the audio was a lot of fun ^^ I agree with the movement trouble. I also didn't like that, but did not have the time to fix it at the end.
@quoclon Thank you! I am not sure what you mean with "movement scheme with diagonal movements". If you for example press W and D you should already move diagonally.
For a first game this is pretty well done! The mechanic led me to just collect tuber for a long time while there were almost no enemies around and then feed everything at once, which floods the whole map with enemies. Maybe it would help to have a rather low cap on how many tuber you can carry?
The hat as bucket and weapon is a very funny idea, nice. Also cool idea with the killed skeletons as light sources. I think you could have continued the game a bit more. I was surprised when it ended at 5 water portions.
I love this kind of game. The grid based navigation is a very good idea here in my opinion. Fuel or some other mechanic to stop you from being underground the whole time would be nice (but also would bring it even closer to Motherload ^^).
A few instructions in the beginning would help a lot, but I eventually figured it out. It's a cool idea and some nice art! There are a few physics bugs though. Eggs kept spinning together with the nurturing UI, many of my wasps got stuck and didn't do anything and the ones that did something were following me all the time and pushed me around ^^
It was fun to play, thanks.
@thewhiterice I dug a small hole, put honeycomb on the bottom and then hatched a lot of eggs on it. All the wasps stuck together in the hole and did not come out. I tried digging them free, but they never started moving.
Fun game reminding me of a multiplayer game I used to play a lot in school a long time ago. I liked the build in tutorial. Towards the end I had to plan the position where I want to kill the enemies in order to get the healing blood not mixed with acid. The game could gain a lot from some audio.
Very funny idea. I like the art style and the physics is well configured. Apart from more audio effects only more levels are missing.
Maybe the recipes could be randomly generated and just get longer?
Nice that you did it in Bevy btw
The game looks nice. Apart from the already mentioned missing functionality, the game plays well. Selecting modules and navigating around feels polished.
Impressive game! The UI feels snappy and I like all the effects. Very fitting music and the leader board is of course perfect to get motivated to continue. Awesome job!
Cool animations and very polished feel. We seem to have had the same idea when thinking about "unstable" => unicycles ^^
I especially liked that the face changes when the angle of the unicycle gets too steep.
I like the level transition. Pretty funny when you start collecting clouds, satellites and meteors.
Very impressive for the short time period! I like the different stabilities with different colors and that the map basically consists of bioms with different stability. The aoe spell is pretty strong. I ended up running around, collecting many monsters, running to a silver biome that is stable enough to stand for a bit and killing all following monsters with the spell.
Nice graphics and fitting music. The controls are interesting, but took a bit to figure out. I think a quick win would be to display more simulation stats like the humidity and temperature.
Thank you for playing! I will see if I can include the library. For now I'll add it to the download description.
@antti-haavikko Thank you for the detailed review! You made a lot of good points.
I especially took the controls comment with me. While play testing the game I was always getting annoyed after a while. Looking back now, I think it was because I had to switch to my mouse every time to restart.
About the art I have to confess that I am pretty bad with colors and should start listening more to my testers there. The grey geometrical boxes are debug renderes of the collision boxes, because I ran out of time to make my own "art" for the platforms.
Next time I might try out the messy wobbly style with multiple versions of the same image, I like the idea.
@xlambein Thank you for playing and giving feedback!
Audio should be working, that's very unfortunate. I am using bevy_kira_audio, which usually works well with the native builds.
I did not add support to press R after dying (which is pretty annoying), but during levels it should work.
Very nice art and the music fits well to the game. I actually found it pretty hard to reach the victory line. Nice touch with the "decision line" moving up with tower height.
I think sound effect would have added a lot. E.g. when pieces collide or your tower falls.
I had some trouble with fighting. Somehow I coun't beat the enemies and always lost, so I ended up running away as long as I could ^^
Apart from that the game plays nice and looks good. Good job!
Nice levels and move mechanics. Feels pretty polished for a jam entry, good job!
Cool concept and funny options. Not sure which death is the best one, but at least I got a few with a smile on ym face.
I like how the character changes based on your "life". Maybe an age bar would be more fitting? And Yogurt drops  Nicely done!
Nice fitting audio with all the pulsating visuals. I would have liked some explanation as to what the different items do (is there a difference?). Also if there is any way to prevent item loss on the way back to the drop zone. Also at some point the background music stopped?
It was fun to play, nicely done!
That is definitely inevitable ^^ Barely missed 200s, but there was nothing left to upgrade. Maybe it would be nicer to be able to buy/equip without having to open the extra menus. Well done!
It took a couple of runs to get the hang of, but it's fun to play! Nice theme interpretation.
It was fun playing the game, but it would be nice to have less platforms. One I let a few fall it got a lot easier to stand my ground and keep multiple platforms up. I like the hammer. It was fun to try and smash as many monsters with one hit as possible.
At some point the cooling gun only shot very slow for me. Not sure if that was intended.
@very-bad-bunny-studio sorry about that. For some reason GC doesn't want to serve my Wasm file on itch at the moment. You can alternatively play it on GH pages here: https://niklasei.github.io/on_thin_ice/
@very-bad-bunny-studio Thanks for playing! Well, I wanted heavy animals to crack the ice. Thought cows would be funny.
I had it without animals at first, but that was way too boring. I had to add another element to the game.
@rubixnoob13 thank you for the feedback.
If you are alone on the ice, every run is the same (and pretty boring). Then the only task is to run in circles as closely next to each other as possible.
With the cows there is a bit of randomness. They can force you to change your plans during a run.
I love this kind of game. It's fun to time strikes for a nice line. Well done! Very cool effect to have the colorful trail of the cursor line out UI elements that you are hovering over.
Nicely done! I had slight performance issues in the browser, but it was fun anyways. I like the style. What I was missing most was some health bar. I realized pretty late that my car keeps loosing parts.
Looks very nice, well done! I found it very hard time wise. I could always only finish one task before everything blew up. Even if I knew exactly what to do and was already standing at the correct spot when the task appeared.
It took a while until I got the hang of it, but it's a nice small game! I don't fully understand why the Y + A/D phase in the beginning is needed.
Congrats on your first Jam! I figured out that I can move the boat. Is that on purpose?
This was fun to play! It took me two tries to actualy get to produce energy, but then I could at least manage to survive for a couple minutes ^^
I couldn't figure out how to get the next kind of metal. Is it possible?
Nice art and relaxing music. Well done!
Very nice game. I love how the audio and walking speed depend on your age meter.
