Just beat the game!
What I liked:
- Great graphics - Great sounds - Funny gameplay and dialog - High production quality
What I disliked:
- A bit too easy - Soo much text floating everywhere, I didn't had time to read everything - The clipping of the character make me stuck to often on the corner of walls and item, there can be improvement there.

I love it! Great humor, enough different events to keep you entertained at least for a few flights, AWESOME IN-DIALOGUE MINIGAMES! When I got the first fire I totally panicked and lost half of my remaining furniture.
The only two minor things I disliked were the controls (you stuck at the walls sometimes and if you hold up and press right he'll keep going up, instead of turning, which I didn't like), and I think I've had a bug when I was bringing the last table to the furnace and decided to throw it to move faster, and once it was flying I've got a "no energy" dialogue. I still had my pants at that point so that's okay, but would I lose if I hadn't, even though there's a table remaining?

Regarding difficulty - the game's supposed to be fun, easy and stupid, because hard challenge doesn't really work with this genre. @mortus Haha, thanks! You would not lose, of course, while you still have stuff to burn. Last chances dialog used to appear only if you have nothing to burn, but we've tweaked it to allow the player spare a single item. You know, to save a friend. You wouldn't burn a poor old Jenkins, would you?

I love how lighthearted this game is for what could be interpreted as quite a gloomy, desperate theme. It has great humor, and who would have thought it would be so satisfying to burn chairs on a spaceship? I would echo what @togis has said in terms of there being an overwhelming amount of dialogue on screen at once, but that would be my only criticism. Awesome job!
This game reminds me of FTL. I like how the music, graphics and writing all fit together very nicely! Well done!
I had a lot of fun with this game! It reminded me a lot of FTL, especially with the dialogue boxes. It's awesome that you managed to put in so many different events and outcomes, and I liked that your options are sometimes limited by what you've already thrown in the furnace (I made the awful mistake of getting rid of my chairs very early on). The sense of humor is fantastic, too - I especially enjoyed the different quips you get when picking up an item.
I really enjoyed this game. The humor was great, nice use of dialog boxes! The game felt polished. And I like how you guys used the theme. My only gripe with the game is that the music was repetitive. Overall a well made game :)
Fantastic game! The humor was excellent. I really appreciated the Final Ship Log Record recapping the events you went through. Art was superb. There were enough random elements to keep gameplay interesting. Thanks for the experience!

I really liked this game, the graphics were kind on the eyes and the humor was actually quite good. I noticed that I got stuck on a lot of walls but it did not upset the game flow too much since it is not a very stressful game. I thing the only part I disliked about your game was that the ambient sound and music was a bit high pased causing me to become a bit stressed out and skipping a lot of the text. I guess it made the game seem like it was on a timer and that there was no time to read all the text. Which is a shame since you seem to have put a lot of time and effort into you text and dialogue. I know I contradicted myself in this post but I hope you understand what point I was trying to make, fun game, sound made it feel more stressful then it actually was, all in all good game...design.
Amazing, nothing bad to say. Just keep making this kind of games. Great main mechanic + amazing event manager. I was enjoying every second of it (and obviously reached my destination. My pants... I'll miss them). Here you have a full 5!
Fun game with resource management. The dialog and minigames really add a lot to the experience.

Great entry, enjoyed the ride, nice art, nice sound, funny dialogue, not too much game play aside from throw everything in the furnace but thats fine I still had a lot of fun. Already looking forward to see your teams entry in the next LD.
Really fun game! I actually laughed out loud several times. The theme is a lot of fun and I really liked the art style. I agree that the game was a bit easy, but I was definitely entertained.

Great game! The panel text was pretty funny and I enjoyed the descriptions of stuff I picked up before tossing it into the engine.
If I had a complaint it would be that it's quite easy, I'm actually not sure you can lose. But that may not be the point as it was still quite enjoyable to get to the end of the game anyway. Good job!

This is the best game on this jam in my opinion. The only issue was the walls, but i was having great time with this game.

Not sure I've ever played 5:star: humour entry before, every bit of dialogue had a comedic angle (and the concept itself) which is fantastic! I was looking forward to the outcome of every stupid decision I made (Including putting Jenkins in the furnace first and reading all the options that included him afterwards :stuck_out_tongue:)
Everything else was also really well done, audio and art had the type of simplicity and style I love seeing in these game jams and the amount of small little minigames was amazing, even if I did fail most of them...
Some have said it's a bit easy, but I don't rally think challenge is an important part of every game, especially a game that rewards you for multiple play-throughs.

One of best LD#39 games. Simple and yet very funny and fits theme very well. It was a little bit easy, but still funny. It can be expanded to a full scale Steam game if developer keep the project on.
All the attention to detail really shines through in this game. Manually navigating the ship through an asteroid belt? No problem. Throwing chairs into menacing aliens? You got it. Picking up fires and frying your brain in a space storm? Absolutely!
Now if you excuse me, I have to go play some more!
Wow, very nice game, I feel so bad for everything I've thrown as fuel now... But I succeed! This game is absolutely lovely, from its humor to its graphics and gameplay. It could be interesting to have aliens being destroying things in the ship (maybe they do it, but that wasn't the case during my two runs). Anyway, great work!
I've seen a333 rating a few games around, so I decided to give his a go. And I definitely don't regret it! Super fun game, really well done. The scripts and interactions have a great humor to it and I loved that at the end I got shamed on by my mistakes hahaha. Really awesome entry, congrats!

@solah, yeah, aliens usually destroy objects on your ship. Maybe they just weren't hungry :) Or you are very lucky! Also, robo-aliens are interested in electronic devices only, they don't need your chairs.
Loved the humor, art-style, and game-play. I wasn't a huge fan of the music, it felt too overpowering at times. Keep up the good work!

Also, that's awesome that I can pick up fire and alien haha Then, when I want to save my potato, I throw it out of space unexpectedly! Haven't think that you made that function, there's fun everywhere in your game!

- very FTL, only somehow *more* engaging - very funny - very polished! - excellent idea and hard choices, felt very alive - the pop references :D - the asteroid navigation minigame was superb! I really felt like navigating the field!

Wow, this has quite a lot of content in it! The theme is well implemented and everything in the game is set out to support a role-playing experience. It feels very focused, using design limitations to its advantage.
Seems like you managed to make a very complete engine supporting the event-based gameplay. I especially appreciate the user-friendly details and amount of feedback (without coming across as too verbose). The game does a good job at explaining what your available actions are thru gameplay, and what you could've done differently.
I thought the difficulty was spot on in the sense that the game gives you several chances to recover. It gives this an edge over entries which are tuned to be overly penalizing. In a jam game, it's important that the first mistake you make doesn't prevent you from seeing what the game has to offer.
The random events were very varied and had a humorous character that kept me going. Some even had minigames inside dialogue, details like that are a big deal. And I love how the game acknowledges your decisions after a game over, this game is just full of fun surprises.
One of my personal favorite entries, I simply had fun the whole time!

@Gurvan yep, colliders could do some work.. but the decisions were made to improve other, more important areas. Indeed you could die, though you'll need to be very unlucky (or throw everything out from the ship)
Just fantastic :) One complaint: the messages would pop up a bit too often so that it became a bit annoying. Other than that this game gets a full score from me!

Freaking brilliant! The moment I took off my pants to make it the final distance home was the moment I gave you a perfect review. This is probably the best game I've played so far. The attention to detail in what appears to be a simple concept is just outstanding.
Great game. Wish I'd got to take my pants off. No problems with walls. Could of been a little harder but overall fantastic work. Very funny, engaging, looks and sounds amazing. Fabulous work!

Wonderful humour and text here, while the game play it self was really easy it was countered by the extremely awesome dialogue and the fact you chuck things into a big fiery furnace! Really loved the atmosphere that was created this well, everything seemed to gel really well. Only slight gripe was getting stuck on the walls was really easy but other than that it was such a solid and fun entry, well done! ^-^
I really liked the humor and the idea. The little character is walking a bit too slowly for me but otherwise it's a very cool game!

This was a very unique take on the theme. It wasn't too hard, and I felt there wasn't much in terms of gameplay, but that's fine because I think this was more of an interactive experience to serve as a vehicle for the comedy. And the comedy was awesome! Good job!

Very nice idea, I love the graphics, maybe the pop up system is a little annoying. You could use the bottom text zone instead to avoid that. The minigames are a very nice addition.

With that said, if you'd like to continue working on this awesome game I'd like to see some more mini-game content, like the cargo thing. Brilliant but easy. I got real happy when I saw it and it'd be awesome to have more little challenges like that. I probably don't need to tell you these things though, just the same game but more and interesting features. Loved it!

This was hilarious. I did 4 playthroughs, it was really fun! The graphics were great, along with the atmosphere - reminded me of Faster Than Light. Felt very polished overall, simple and effective.
I was navigating the asteroid field so successfully until...y'know what. Bastards. Made me laugh too hard. One of the best games I've played this LD.

I have made some harsh decisions to survive. This game is fun (and funny), I played it 2 times, the first time I died (after losing my dignity... *ehm* pants) and the second time, I did it (I made pirate laugh s much they decided to leave). The art is great and the music is great too. Overall, one of the most enjoyable games I have played in the jam.

I love the amount of content, variety and replayability of this game! It seem to have everything, from the various minigames, tough decisions, humorous story, and the fact that everything can (and probably eventually will) be burned.

This was great! The random events really make you worry about throwing something useful into the engine. It did seem like excessive bravado worked out better than a more reasonable approach (or at least it did for my run), but that just fits with the humor of the game.
I also liked how it listed all of your (questionable) accomplishments at the end, a really nice touch!
I don't know what it says about me wanting an alien infestation so that I could put them all into the furnace. This was a very, very funny game with humorous writing. The mini-games were a nice touch too. My new motto, "if it's not nailed down, put it in the furnace!" ... which has my family a little worried about me.
