Unfortunately I couldn't get past the third level, cool idea but I feel like you could have introduced the mechanics better.

That's a 5 in mood for me, spectacular. The reloading mechanic is a classic, but it really fits the frantic nature of the game at the end. The sound was also fantastic, great job !
Everything is great, the art, the music, the hints that subtly tell you what to do... I never felt lost ! Great game !
My god, what an experience, I loved it to death
Crazy fun game ! The gamefeel was awesome, with blood and sparks flying everywhere, the graphics were gorgeous and it was overall well balanced. Incredible game, well done.
Great work on the graphics ! Hope to see some progress !
I agree with all of the other commenters on their points, too easy, but shows promise. I want to applaud you on the particle work, which is simple but works really well with your minimalist style.
Game feel is great, I love the idea, really fun concept ! Graphics are appropriate for a jam and the level design was interesting, great job !
Finally an original clicker game ! Really funny and right on theme, I really enjoyed it. Now I have to let my mouse cool down...
I like it, but no invincibility window means getting rekt in a corner when there's more than 3 enemies. Great art and really ambitious game !
It was very fun ! Nice job !!
Juste played it, it was a cool experience, loved the mood. I was a bit confused with the camera and the slowness that sometimes hits me :)
Good job for creating this atmmosphere
To answer those who asked me about the lighting.
All lights are illuminating a quad that is in the background. I then render this quad separately with a second camera and apply a shader to this camera. The shader takes a 4x16 dithering texture (black to white with dithering in the middle) and maps this texture following the light intensity. I want to make clear that I did not write this shader.
That's it !
I like puzzle games, but unfortunately I did not manage to finish your game. I didn't feel like I had the time to make any meaningful progress before having to restart the generator and it felt more like a chore than a gameplay mechanic. However the mood is really good, the music is tense and the graphics are perfect for this type of jam game. You are perfectly on theme also ! Great job overall.
Love it, this reminds me of Demon Tower. I feel like everyone has pointed out the details so I really want to congratulate you on your gamefeel. Walking felt great ! The spells were varied and fun to use and it was really challenging. Good job !
Man, I loved the intro, made me think of old sim games. I felt like the tenants came too quickly and I didn't have time to think about my decisions. I lost pretty quickly but I'm sure it was because I'm bad haha
Kudos to you for using MonoGame ! Great framework
Stunning game, may I ask how did you do the glow effect ? It's rare that a pixel art game manages to blend effects like these so well. Congrats guys.
Really wholesome experience, thanks for this moment of peace you've offered me
So many fans died... Serves them right. Always getting in my way ! Really great interpretation of the theme, I'm surprised at the amount of content you managed to produce in these 72 hours. Awesome graphics and really funny sound design. This game will likely end up in the top 10.
Completely absurd and fun little game, really entertaining to watch someone else play !
I really enjoyed myself for a good 10 minutes while finishing my game... Curse you for distracting me ! One thing I could say is that I would have liked the camera to be further away to see where I was launching myself. Other that that it's a great compo game.
Hilarious game, burst out laughing when I understood what the jauge in the top left was ! I didn't manage to throw the doll, maybe it has to do with my keyboard ? I don't know. Otherwise solid game, congrats guys.
Really intuitive game, 5 seconds in and I already understood how to play. The game is really fluid, everything flow together really nicely, the art is awesome ! I only have one issue with the key placement, when the game got really fast my hand started hurting, maybe you could give some alternative controls.
Congrats !
I would serve those doggos anytime ! The visuals are amazing, you really captured those warm tavern colors. The gameplay is a bit long to start but it gets more and more hectic and interesting! I didn't get what difference the drinks made but I liked having to choose :)
Original idea using those ads as platforms ! Funny platformer, nice job :)
I had the pleasure of seeing multiple rounds live, and the game is really fun. Fantastic idea !
I absolutely loved the game, the characters are all really fun and colorful, in writing and in visuals. I just want to see all the endings !
The game might seem unfinished to you, but in my eyes it's pretty polished nonetheless. The platforming feels right, which is not always the case in gamejam games. The throwing is nice too, I had no problem throwing things and landing on them. The level design was interesting, although you said it yourself, it lacks a bit of content. Very good entry ! Congrats on the game :)
Played with the mouse and it felt really hard to control, but you probably already knew that. The level design and telegraphing of obstacles felt fair at all times, props to you. Vehicle physics felt a bit janky, but it played in the intention of the game anyway.
A really fun game that makes you go "goddamnit jesus !" Thanks for your entry !
@peachtreeoath I feel that you nailed that balance, well done.
I'm really surprised there isn't more votes ! The gameplay was really smooth, although I felt I lost control during the fights. Sounds and animations were good and really pulled me in. Making a RTS during a compo must have been a challenge, so kudos to you ! Great entry :)
Hey ! I really liked the mood you set through the game, with the small events that kept me playing even though I understood the main game loop. The music was great for this kind of game and the graphics simply worked. I'd say one problem would be the player movement, it feels floaty, where the game needs tight controls to accurately use the tools. Other than that, this is awesome. Congrats !
I'm really impressed ! The gameplay is actually really fun, and the loop of taking a sheep close to you, throwing it and getting it back works really well. The animations are great and the enemy variety is incredible ! Kudos to you. Great entry !
Okay this is reaaaaally good. I mean, I spent at least 5minutes making the perfect avatar ( https://i.imgur.com/ZJ2BhOV.png <- pic here) Then when I played (with myself) I absolutely adored the controller. The small bouncy feeling of the run combined with the height of the jumps... You got the gamefeel right. Props to you for making a fighter game in a game jam, too. Well done, very good entry !
I saw this concept numerous times, but no one came close to this level of execution. The camera and controls felt smooth and this twist is great by being self evident but still a reveal in itself. Great entry !
Great concept, perfect execution ! You're spot on the theme, and the worldbuilding around your simple mechanic really makes the game shine. Awesome work :) The music was great too.
Really good ! Gamefeel was top notch, graphics did their job really well. There was a big clarity in the visuals (contrast between gameplay elements) and that really helps the game. I had a lot of fun :)
I hope you get all the votes to qualify !
Thank you for your kind comments ! The 2$ price is a donation suggestion from itch.io, the game is of course completely free @michal
@chaosed0 Sometimes not playing at all is the only way to win... Thank you for your comment.
Hi ! @lexyvil thank you for your kind words. To get this ending, did you in fact delete everyone but you ? I'm still working out some bugs, so your help will be greatly appreciated.
@lexyvil Thank you for your answer ! . The "missing_string" is intended, and part of the game ^^
[EDIT] Sorry for the triple reply, looks like something went wrong
[EDIT] Same here
@mrpiedpiper Thank you so much, firstly for your feedback, which is very heart warming, considering the time we took writing and designing everything. And also for the bug reports.
You're right, bringing back people isn't one one the things we're anticipating, as it would have taken us too much time to write dialogue for everything, and it was a mistake to imply it. We'll fix it asap.
You comparing our game with Undertale or Oneshot (which I adore) means a lot to me, thank you !
Thank you everyone for your kind comments. The response from all of you has been amazing and exactly the one that we hoped for.
Hey @aurel ! I believe this bug occurs when you put the game folder in your documents folder, since it's sharing the name of the folder created at runtime. We're fixing this in the post-jam version coming in a few weeks. Thanks for sticking by the game and we're happy you enjoyed it.
Hey @ddrkirbyisq ! Thank you for your feedback. There is in fact a good ending involving file manipulation. We're working on a more extensive ending for this one but I feel it does a good job of wrapping up the narrative as is. And yes, it was a challenge accounting for all possible actions haha
Thank you @acr515 ! We're glad you liked the ending :) Thank you for your kind words, we really appreciate it
The concept is a classic, but the execution is lacking in some areas. Like jump detection for example. Now it's not very important, since it's a compo game and the graphics are nice ! You "themed" your mechanic well, as I haven't yet seen seppuku used to portray it. Great entry, and thanks for making this game !
Pretty clever concept, but failing a level is way too easy (but maybe I'm bad). Took me a while to understand how to play too, perhaps putting jump on space was a bit strange. Other than that, the levels were well made and I really saw what you were trying to achieve ! Thank you for your game !
I already knew it was going to be great, but I was surprised at how well done the levels are, teaching you new tricks along the way. My favourite level was the 13th, with the little airlock you have to do to get the right pieces at the start.
Of course the art is really great and very efficient. This is a professional game right there.
One of the best entries so far.
God damn this is hardcore ! I really enjoyed myself, thanks for that. The main character's animations are nice, and the axe throw is actually pretty enjoyable ^^ The only problem is that the ents blend too much in their environment, sometimes one just pops out a tree and the animation to use the torch is slightly longer that the ent attack animation, getting you killed. Very good entry, thank you !
@aj-jones I did about 30 seconds, but I lost some inputs because of the webGL window
@aj-jones Yeah that fixed it
Hey concept brother ;) Yeah I see where our concepts were similar. I didn't think it would work with a platformer but you managed to make it work ! Putting the files in the game folder is a great idea that I wish I had thought of. ^^ The puzzles were interesting and never too hard. Really good entry ! Congrats :)
Hey man, this is really impressive considering your experience. I really found myself sacrificing one cat to save three others, so the intention seems to be met. The gamefeel was good, no bugs, great animations and reward (explosions, sounds). Keep it up, I can't wait for next year, where you'll do even better !
Man, the particles effects really stand out to me. The gunplay was really good, but the boxes didn't seem to provide much cover. The story was nice, although a bit confusing. Nice job, good entry !
Very interesting art style, great job on that. Finding children based on clues was well done, and a bit creepy...
On a last note, watch out for your game size next time. A big game is less likely to be downloaded. There are some tricks to reduce game size like compressing audio and textures that you can look for on the net.
Overall very good ! Thank you for your game ;)
Didn't read the info, got 2 billion in debt in the first few seconds... Whoops. Don't put me in charge of nasa. Of course like everyone else, I'm going to praise the art style, even if if sometimes was a little bit detrimental to readability. Didn't understand at first how to build the space station, and when I did I lost ! Well, I tried again and it was actually really fun. Thank you for this entry !
15 items ! I thought I did pretty good but everyone here had a better score ! The game seemed fair, so well done ! Solid entry, thanks for your game !
Very good concept, would love to see it developed more and polished a bit. The controls felt a bit weird, mainly because of the control scheme. Space to jump is strange in a platformer, you could bind it to the up arrow for example. Also why not bind the sacrifice button to the right mouse button ? This way it's more accessible and allows for a lower barrier of entry. The animations and particle effects were well done and complimented the gameplay very well. Great entry !
Really original concept, pretty similar to ours, but you did it more gameplay focused, so that's interesting. Good execution ! Thank you for your game.
God damn you even have a trailer !
Some people are right saying the mechanic is awkward but I think it was the intention. Graphics are really nice but I want to shine a spotlight on the sounds ! They are really good, so is the music. You really get these 80's vibes.
Thank you for this entry and congrats on an awesome game !
Once I got the hang of it, it was really skillful to juggle with the different modules, well done ! The only downside is I didn't understand if green was less consumption or more consumption, it's still unclear to me.
Overall this is a really solid entry, gameplay wise !
God damn what a beautiful game ! And I mean in its entirety ! The graphics are nice, the gameplay is good and rewarding. And there's a story ! I really cared for these characters, they seemed full of life and experience.
Controlling multiple characters can be pretty tough, so maybe a pause button on the spacebar like in FTL could be a possible change, but that would create all kind of code and balance problems I guess. I you didn't do it I would think it's because of your starting intention, and it's really strong, so there's no problem there.
Congrats on the amazing entry, one of the best I've seen so far !
Wave 6 and I'm getting cut off from my castle, dying without my loyal astras... Really good entry, the gamefeel was good, and the animations had weight. I disagree with those who say the attack animation is too slow. I think that was the intent, and forces some thinking from the player. Thank you for this game !
Crazy fun game, I felt very fast at the end ! The combat was a bit heavy but the feedbacks made it very satisfying. Great entry.
First off, the game is gorgeous. The concept is good but the fact that the camera moves with your mouse makes for a very unpredictable platform placement. Great entry :)
Great idea, love the fact that the guys hit each other if left unattended !
Great art style, and great concept. The fact that you can end the game at any time made for a very chill experience. Loved this entry !
Really glad I continued playing after the initial few minutes of confusion haha, very chill and relaxing.
Hello @rob1221dev, can you tell me a little more about what you were doing when you got the crash ?
Thank you, we'll look into it
I protected my egg ! Loved it, I played a good while. Makes me think of a warioware minigame in the best way possible. Thank you so much for making this !
Spent a good hour in very good company. The social aspect of the game is amazing ! Thank you for your entry :)
Challenging but fun, and the visuals make the experience very pleasant. As I said on twitter, I love the rendition of the blocks, they look soft and pillowy... Thank you for your entry. Crazy to think this was done in compo !
The art style is very nice and works really well with the genre. The game felt good, nice work ! Thanks for your entry :)
Completely blow away by the quality of the game. The mood is amazing and the pacing is excellent. That's a winner in my book ! Thank you so much for this entry.
The style is great, clever use of sprites to make 3D looking models. Lighting is really well done too ! Thank you for your entry :)
Absolutely gorgeous art style, you nailed the cute/weird balance perfectly. Thank you for your entry !
Really impressive entry, the UI looks great and is easy to navigate. I had fun trying to decode the different messages ! The voice acting is great and something you almost never see in a ludum dare entry, so kudos for that. Thank you for this entry :)
The controls felt great and the light effects are really cool ! Thanks for your entry :)
Also using presets for your music is just called making music ! Nowadays very few producers make their own sounds, so you should take all the credit for your awesome music !
I came from twitch ! I zoned out to be honest, it's a game that really puts you in a state of flow. Thank you for your entry !
I guess I'm a fish sitter now ! I love these types of game because my memory isn't that great and it feels like a useful challenge for my brain haha. Thank you for your entry !
Design wise, this is a very clever game ! The style is very original and works well with the game. Thanks for your entry !
