It definitely gets worse. Much worse. Good job though! I love management sims. I felt the consequences for playing poorly just weren't there. Maybe add more bad things that you have to pay for if you make bad decisions or just button spam.

Man, I loved the intro, made me think of old sim games. I felt like the tenants came too quickly and I didn't have time to think about my decisions. I lost pretty quickly but I'm sure it was because I'm bad haha
Kudos to you for using MonoGame ! Great framework

An abstract idea for a game but hey still great! What made you think of dealing with a landlord when reading the theme?

Well, that was amusing. My biggest complaint is the completely random pricing scheme to fix stuff.

I really like sim games and I think you did a good job here, it's honestly a good concept that I could see working really well if you ever decided to expand on it and add more features. I really liked that each tenant had its own personality and how they complained about the silliest things!
The one thing I would have liked would have been a way to be able to select which card I wanted to take care of first (unless I missed how to), but overall this was a great entry!

First game I've played that I think really does the theme justice (it's a tough theme this time, obviously). Very good build up of tenant obnoxiousness; however, I'm not sure I understand all the mechanics (like trust). I'm also not sure how to actually get a Game Over. But regardless, I clearly have no future in real estate. :D

Pretty original take on the theme + nice soundtrack. Nowadays I live on the tenant side, so it's funny to play a game where I am the landlord :D The most common answer I get in real life is "Deal with it yourselves", so that one was also the most common I gave in the game.
Btw, some timers were too short and I was unable to read the full text.
Highest rating I gave for now, incredibly original. I want to see more!

I like the concept on paper but I feel like the central "handle tenant requests" mechanic could've had some more thought put into it. I never felt like my tenants were reacting to my responses at all - the only consequence of letting the requests stack up was apparently just having a ton of requests to click through.

Hi all! I see a lot of people complaining that there seems to be no game over or real consequence, so I wanted to clear that up. Eventually, if tenants don't trust you enough, they will end up moving out and trashing the place. It seems that I've made that feature too lenient! I also didn't have time to build UI for displaying a tenant's trust, so it makes it harder to make informed decisions. Definitely taking all this feedback to heart, thanks all!

Also, I wanted the make sure that the game got hard to manage as time went on, but because of the audience (Ludum Dare participants, who will play a given game for 5 minutes tops), I wanted to make sure you had a good idea of how out-of-hand I wanted it to get. An eventual full release would have a more forgiving timescale, but would also have more things to do than just manage requests.
Thanks for the feedback, everyone! It's appreciated.

Some of these random events are really funny! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s2AmCPVSXQ
Haha, I can't say that I did have that much -fun- (there is not much of a challange yet), but the atmosphere, and the feeling to be crawling under absurd requests, were great ! Perfect theme fit, and good atmosphere. Well done !

I like the idea but it play out a little to random. Also some feedback on the Buy button would be appreciated
