LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Barter: the Game by crhallberg 2015-12-18T05:25:00

I like the concept, but the thought of retweeting these contentless tweets a lot sounds like a bad idea.

Golden Rush by juaxix 2015-12-14T04:16:00

"This game is still In Development and is not currently playable." says the site

Golden Rush by juaxix 2015-12-15T04:12:00

Very pretty; hard to control, though.

Timebomb by Galan 2015-12-14T03:54:00

Didn't run on Windows.

Sunny Side Up by jarnik 2015-12-14T04:21:00

Really interesting, well made, great theming. Feels like a typing learning game.

Breeze by thynnmas 2015-12-14T04:35:00

Doesn't seem to work in Windows.

Society, Man. by floppya 2015-12-14T06:04:00

This is how society works.

Saneedling by commanderstitch 2015-12-14T04:42:00

I don't know what just happened to me.

Bernie Sanders: Moon Gnome by Icelus 2015-12-15T05:20:00

BERN

Revolver by scriptorum 2015-12-14T04:54:00

Liked the concept, just not a lot of fun to play.

A Tale of Two Peters by Recursiveanomaly 2015-12-15T04:40:00

Actually just a joy to play. I like sending people to hell. A lot.

Depression by Halleflux 2015-12-14T04:30:00

Is the interpretation "if you're depressed, just kill yourself to get through"? That's what it seems to convey...

Still, mood was nice, I kind of liked the theming. But I can't give it stars for growth because of the perceived message.

Depression by Halleflux 2015-12-14T05:50:00

Played again, all the way through, at the request of the author.

My score is unchanged after playing through the whole thing, but I wasn't that far from the end in the first place. The growth, I guess being, that you can lift someone else up even at your darkest moments?

But that also doesn't feel like growth for a lot of reasons I don't feel like getting into.

To be fair, my other interpretation was a little bit of a joke. But it did seem like what the game was conveying and could convey.

Celebration Of Jand by Dooskington 2015-12-14T03:48:00

The scream was hilarious. Can't stop playing. Ever.

Celebration Of Jand by Dooskington 2015-12-15T04:00:00

Because I'm still thinking about this game today, I'm improving my score.

StarNinja vs SpaceHydra by Linkigi 2015-12-18T05:09:00

Pretty fun game! Double jumping is a little finicky.

Sea Cucumber Runner 2D by takemikazuchi545 2015-12-14T05:31:00

Eviscerated myself completely, made it to the end of the world, flew off into blue.

Give and Take by Move127 2015-12-14T05:13:00

Interesting. Hard to tell what's happening, but interesting nonetheless!

A Bullet Hell Style Shooter Where One Button Controls Both Shooting and Moving, While Another Button Gives You Slightly Sarcastic Motivation. by Fanttum 2015-12-14T05:58:00

It is exactly what it said it was.

Agropolis by Magicolo 2015-12-14T05:03:00

Fun to look at. Relaxing.

BEAR by graceavery 2015-12-14T04:48:00

Slow movement. But liked the graphics and liked the general idea!

Rayban by eddynardo 2015-12-15T05:34:00

I get it! Like the sunglasses!!!!!!!!!!

Go On by Sean 2015-12-18T05:39:00

It took me a while to realize that you had to tap the button /incredibly/ quickly to get to the end. In fact, the first few times I wasn't tapping fast enough. But when I did? Oh wow, once you reach the flag? That ending.

Two Button Gardening by freddyw9 2015-12-14T05:53:00

Fun little physics game. You made what you set out to make, and I can appreciate it.

Sickle & Sword by MSiddeek 2015-12-15T04:57:00

I think I might come back to this one after judging is over.

Billy And His Kids by ToloaGames 2015-12-15T03:59:00

I don't understand the general point of this game. It controlled well but I had no reason to continue.

Elenesski's Two Bar by Elenesski 2015-12-14T05:39:00

Fun little rhythm. Spacebar felt tacked on, though

Choices by thirteenthspiral 2015-12-14T05:22:00

Fun little choose your own adventure story

Long Long: A snake lies in the Past by Tapehead 2015-12-18T05:32:00

Pretty unforgiving with the checkpoints, but overall fun.

Battle Buttons by paraboxx 2015-12-14T05:16:00

Lots of fun with roommate. Could have gotten way more vicious.

A Shot in the Dark by thecatspajamas 2015-12-18T05:21:00

Interesting mechanic! Liked the idea, controls were solid!

LD35 — Shapeshift

Sheep Shift by Budda 2016-04-19T02:39:00

Collisions were a bit weird, and the loud BAAA got a bit annoying, but I appreciate this interpretation of the theme a lot.

Shapeshifting With Science! by TeamKawaiiju 2016-04-19T02:58:00

There's not a lot of conveyance explaining what's going on. The slide puzzle in the beginning, I didn't understand. I got the general premise of the slide, but what was the point when I could just put it right on the button? Was hard to tell where to go next.

ChickenShift by fenwick 2016-04-19T02:50:00

Animations are gorgeous, love the music. It is a little too difficult though, with instant failure and no way to know how far line of site is. I also think the box takes a little too long to appear.

Equalize by OU GDA 2016-04-19T02:44:00

Difficult, but fun, I really like this mechanically and could see it being fleshed out more.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

The more hair you have... by Naca 2017-12-06T02:59:17Z

I like the message of the game. Cool to see games with a message!

Tenant Chaos by Siege 2017-12-06T14:23:34Z

Hi all! I see a lot of people complaining that there seems to be no game over or real consequence, so I wanted to clear that up. Eventually, if tenants don't trust you enough, they will end up moving out and trashing the place. It seems that I've made that feature too lenient! I also didn't have time to build UI for displaying a tenant's trust, so it makes it harder to make informed decisions. Definitely taking all this feedback to heart, thanks all!

@ryusui

Tenant Chaos by Siege 2017-12-06T14:30:02Z

Also, I wanted the make sure that the game got hard to manage as time went on, but because of the audience (Ludum Dare participants, who will play a given game for 5 minutes tops), I wanted to make sure you had a good idea of how out-of-hand I wanted it to get. An eventual full release would have a more forgiving timescale, but would also have more things to do than just manage requests.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! It's appreciated.

@naca @pandanym

Going Nuts by nidup 2017-12-06T02:51:46Z

Graphics are gorgeous, and I like the challenge. My only complaint is that it's too easy to accidentally get back on the elevator.

Sofra by dietzribi 2017-12-10T18:52:06Z

The controls are super tight! I love the art, and the gameplay is fun! Great job!

Dungeon Raid by kbf123 2017-12-06T02:44:05Z

You have a whole keyboard to work with! No reason to make the player take their fingers off the controls. Otherwise, fun work! I like the art.

Gelatin Eater by Squatch 2017-12-06T03:06:43Z

If you continue with this concept, you should make it faster all around. Could be fun with a good bit of challenge!

Grand Fat A$$ by Lorthal 2017-12-05T01:04:14Z

I really couldn't tell what I was supposed to do, and a lot of the UI was hard to read, but I can appreciate the effort in it.

Gas or Pass by Kobi Hawk 2017-12-05T02:55:49Z

Very simple game. Didn't really have a sense of progression to keep me going. I like the aesthetic though!

CalligraTree by Roaring Cat Games 2017-12-08T01:52:59Z

So pretty! So fun! Glad to have something a little more calm.

Hold Out by wareification 2017-12-06T03:03:14Z

I like the idea! I couldn't get the hang of it because of the unpredictable piece shapes. Maybe sticking with the standard Tetris pieces would have been best.

Eskimonster: Pingus Rising by Arch 2017-12-05T02:45:54Z

Fun! I laughed pretty hard at the way the penguins flew off screen.

To answer your feedback on Tenant Chaos, there were penalties for ignoring your tenants too much. They would eventually move out, having trashed the place and charging you for the damages to the room immediately. I should have made that happen more frequently. I'll keep that in mind!

100 Meter Dash by fixedgerald 2017-12-05T03:00:24Z

There's something good to be said about setting the mood you intend to set, so good job on that!

Trial of the Doggo by Pedrowzee 2017-12-17T23:58:29Z

I really liked the art! And the controls feel pretty nice. If I have one complaint, it's that the jumps in the second level are more frustrating than fun. I know you don't die from them, but because there was nothing at stake but time, it just felt pointless.

But don't get me wrong! I like the game a lot. Look forward to your next game :)

Debt Crisis by Invixel 2017-12-05T00:59:51Z

I love the concept. Wish I could have used the numpad to enter values, though. Would have been just as stressful but maybe a little more manageable.

Chaos Cell by hoogmin 2017-12-05T02:49:59Z

A neat idea! I liked chasing the germs. It would have been nice to have some way to know where the germs are so I could chase them better, and also some kind of visible border would have helped.

To answer your question about Tenant Chaos, I didn't decide to make a game about apartments until Saturday. I spent a lot of time thinking about what to do, and a friend of mine who works in building maintenance gave me the idea of more and more tenants meaning more and more complaints. So that's why I went with that.

Sneaky Robber by Kevin Borrell 2017-12-05T01:07:56Z

This was one of the first ideas I had when I saw the theme too, but that doesn't discount what you've made here. The art style is really nice, and the concept is fun! This would be cool to see done multiplayer, maybe where the guards are first person and the robber is top down. It reminds me a lot of the Luigi's Mansion game from Nintendoland. Great work, love it!

Badger Runner by Artem Ravbetsky 2017-12-05T00:56:09Z

Decent runner game. Would be better with more variety or difficulty scaling, though.

Anything Else? by Thor Sone 2017-12-05T01:14:41Z

Would probably have been more fun with a little more leeway on when the item scanned. Having to get it exactly right meant things got out of hand too quickly. Also, I probably would have preferred no music at all, rather than the short loop. Still, it has potential! Would love to see a version 2.

Anything Else? by Thor Sone 2017-12-07T17:42:14Z

The music is part of the intended experience, so it should be judged.

What is this? A Cake for Ants?! by glitchroy 2017-12-06T01:22:08Z

Most fun I've had while judging so far! Great work!

Overrun by Asellio 2017-12-06T00:37:48Z

I appreciate the work that went in! It would have been cool if the attacks were faster, and if the controls weren't all on one hand

Wonder Tsum by regisrquoi 2017-12-08T01:46:04Z

Love the art!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

My Scrimbles! by Evan Polekoff 2018-12-03T03:56:03Z

The drawing mechanic looks really good! I don't like how it always feels like you're failing when a few little scrimbles die, but I guess... sacrifices must be made!

Blood Adventure by Tkap 2018-12-04T06:17:33Z

Neat little platform shooter! One suggestion, maybe consider giving the player a way to charge up their blood meter when they're safe to avoid some of the waiting around!

Hunger Sings by Swanijam 2018-12-03T05:22:25Z

I love the dialogue system in this. The way the thoughts pop up in the upper right is really inventive and easy to miss. Loved how it's laid out so you slowly understand what happened.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Lucky Fight! by riktothepast 2018-04-23T01:33:11Z

Fun to play! I like the almost Gameboy-Pokemon-TCG aesthetic. Would be interested in seeing this expanded more in the future.
