LD28 — You Only Get One

Space Worm by rolfeth 2013-12-22T05:42:00

It seems interesting but I can't figure out how to play it. I can get the player cube to move around the donut with the blue cube in the middle by pressing space. Are there any other controls I'm missing?

Grid War by zeoverlord 2013-12-22T05:39:00

Great game. My highest score so far is 12. Thought it was funny that I too have a grid based game where you play as a cube, although in mine you have to avoid the red cubes. I think with some more variety in the actions the player can take this could become really really interesting. A good example of how a solid prototype can be a fun demonstration of a simple mechanic.

Doubt by rxi 2013-12-16T04:56:00

Wow! Great graphics, great sound. The atmosphere is really the best part though. If you built on this further in the future, I'd be interested in playing it.

Better Half by ocmu 2013-12-22T05:49:00

Great game, great idea. I want more levels!

Rush Delivery by icedmetal57 2013-12-16T06:54:00

Haha, loved it! On my fifth playthrough I got in a very frustrating lock between two cars: http://i.imgur.com/q81CnQV.png But I finally got my casualties down to one life once I got a hang for the horn and the brakes. I was surprised that the controls are actually fairly deep. 5/5 for fun.

Keyboard Crasher 2.5D by takemikazuchi545 2013-12-16T03:52:00

I forgot to mention, You can also use E to zoom in and Q to zoom out as well.

Keyboard Crasher 2.5D by takemikazuchi545 2013-12-22T05:59:00

Hi Jiggawatt,

It's not necessarily about awkward controls, it's more about maintaining a constant rate of input. If you can get around 5 keystrokes a second you can maintain your direction pretty easily. The rest is just reading the enemy paths properly. Is it badly balanced? Yes. Is the control gimmick flawed? Definitely. And the sloppy level design doesn't help. I wouldn't say it's completely unplayable for a lot of people though. I like your idea about making it more puzzle based though. I don't think I'll revisit this concept, but if I do I'll keep that in mind.

Power Ball - The Cube Apocalypse by bananaAndGames 2013-12-22T05:55:00

Awesome game. Keeping this in my LD28 favorites. The movement speed and controls could use a little tweaking maybe(it felt too much like I was gliding) With some good assets and a more engaging setting this could be really addicting.

Perception by y2bd 2013-12-16T05:09:00

I knew this would be my cup of tea the moment I saw your in-progress gifs. Did not disappoint, and I even found the easter egg!

Grow The Horde by filthsu 2015-12-14T05:03:00

Nice graphics!

Sea Cucumber Runner 2D by takemikazuchi545 2015-12-15T06:31:00

Hey guys. Thanks for all the feedback and comments. I've updated the game to fix an issue where people were getting stuck and losing as a result. I would love to tweak the difficulty but I feel like that wouldn't be in the spirit of the rules since it would change much of the design. If I end up polishing this more I'll definitely post links though. Thanks again!

When I Grow Up I Want to be by Lancelot Gao 2015-12-14T05:54:00

Nice use of depth of field. The post-processing really tied it together.

Tile Risers by et1337 2015-12-14T06:29:00

Interesting concept. With a setting and theme I could see this being really engaging.

Totally Not Buggy Elevator by veverichka 2015-12-14T06:27:00

The visuals are really bold. I like it.

Super Lefty Garden Fighty by hexagore 2015-12-14T05:44:00

Nice. One of the overall most solid entries I've seen so far.

Reap by managore 2015-12-14T06:15:00

I'm a little confused about the controls but the graphics and world generation are amazing. I really like the ambient audio too.

Exttach by VascoF 2015-12-14T05:10:00

Wow this is intense. I was really curious when you posted screenshots on the blog, I didn't expect it to be this cool. Amazing concept.

Wanderer of the Frozen Wastes by nassi 2015-12-14T06:41:00

Oh man that game dev note had me in stitches. I had a lot of fun exploring, and the writing for the artifacts was really good.

Your City by Flygamer101 2015-12-14T06:33:00

The game started out really zoomed in and I couldn't figure out how to escape.

Thousand Blades by [email protected] 2015-12-14T06:59:00

This is a really fun multiplayer experience. Figuring out how the weapons interact was interesting.

Climbing The Blood Rock by PlasmaErnst 2015-12-14T05:38:00

Graphics were really nice. It took me a little bit to get used to the controls but it's pretty fun too.

Cockatiel Egg by FiSilva 2015-12-14T06:24:00

The sounds the tile makes are really cool. And my heart sank each time the bird fell off of the platform.

Tile Breaker Revolution by lXxGarrisonxXl 2015-12-14T04:35:00

Awesome game. Sweet track too.

Outgrow by groverburger 2015-12-16T05:40:00

The concept is really cool, it's a shame this hasn't gotten many ratings. It took me a while to figure out how the controls worked, especially the click and drag + growth radius. With some refinement this could be really cool to play in local multiplayer though.

Cosmic Snowball by kernel panic 2015-12-14T06:06:00

Wow really hard.

Another Dragon by GeorgeBroussard 2015-12-14T05:36:00

Wow that cave level is frustrating but the mood was spot on.
