LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Duality by cxsquared 2015-12-14T18:00:00

Didn't understand that you have to actually click inside the circles at first. I would echo other people's comments. One idea to easily improve the game: display the circles as two concentric circles, one slowly growing and the other remaining a constant size. The goal would be to click the circle at the exact moment they reach the same size.

Snakedate by YoungHorses 2015-12-15T04:12:00

Love it. Super buggy, but fun. My first game, I somehow made a bunch of horses love me without ever finding a charmr target or scoring any points. Second time around it seemed to work better.

I loved swiping left on dates in order to stay loyal to your current date. Good fun.

Slash Quest by Big Green Pillow ft Mgaia 2015-12-15T19:01:00

This is incredible. Gorgeous graphics, animation, and sound.

At first, I somehow failed to notice the sword grew longer after killing enemies, and shortened after hitting obstacles. I kept doing both enough that they mostly canceled each other out. Had to come back and read the description. Once that was done, everything came together really well. This might be my favorite entry. Would work great on mobile devices.

Sugarcane by bobismijnnaam 2015-12-14T17:16:00

Picked this one due to the nice minimalist graphics. Very relaxing. Impressive entry.

Adrift: A Space Age Roguelite by srakowski 2015-12-14T19:12:00

I'm not usually one for roguelikes/lites, but this was gorgeous and well thought out with a clever use of the two button limitation.

Splatter Trail by calsmurf2904 2015-12-15T02:36:00

Always upvote paint-based games :)

Ian Archer by kidando 2015-12-14T18:08:00

Fantastic music, powerups, particle effects, screen shake, etc. Love the concept. Love the hoverboard. A+.

Griffin Card by uheartbeast 2015-12-14T17:50:00

Amazing gameplay, art, sound, screen shake, and puns.

PlayHard by JohnGalt 2015-12-14T06:52:00

Enjoyed the clean art style, the minigames, and the humor. Really enjoyed falling asleep on the job. Audio was a bit rough.

Grow in the Hole! by ErgoMeSmart 2015-12-15T15:50:00

Gorgeous colors and music. Maybe not the most interesting use of theme, but a great game nonetheless. I got 42. :)

The Cube of Zanigriv by anarbitrarymustache 2015-12-14T19:44:00

Echoing everyone else, fantastic art, sound, and music, but confused by the gameplay. Love the diegetic UI as well.

Grow Up! by sergear 2015-12-14T18:39:00

Gorgeous graphics, nice music. Well done! Items come down a bit fast sometimes, leaving you no time to react. Still plays very well though.

Botany by Steven Miller 2015-12-14T07:19:00

Fun gameplay, although it's a lot of buttons to remember. I think a mode toggle would help, rather than holding a button. I enjoyed the writing as well.

Economical Growth by Gemberkoekje 2015-12-14T18:57:00

Love the colors. Cool world (proc gen I assume). Some interesting ideas. I like the visualization of growth. But why does everything seem to take at least 20 turns to build?

Super Smash Buttons by ronniepedra 2015-12-16T05:39:00

Love the pixel art. Solid gameplay as well.

CRESCO by Robin 2015-12-14T17:31:00

Awesome things: level design, in-game tutorial, enemy design, character animations, well-made and precise physics-based controls. Enjoyed the music, not so much the sounds. Wish I could perform the "crouch down" maneuver while moving, I think that would allow more control and more possibilities. Overall, great job!

Squares by Piepenguin1995 2015-12-14T06:42:00

Very technically impressive. C++, cross-platform, networking. Fantastic. I only wish the beats were synced with the music!

There are tons of games like this, even within LD34, so can't give many innovation points. However, this is one of the best executions on the concept. Smooth gameplay, fantastic level design, gorgeous graphics. Add some relaxing music and throw this on the app store, it's a gem.

Snow World by Elisée and friends 2015-12-15T03:59:00

Beautiful graphics, fun idea. Love the flash sales to break up the combat. Very well done.
