LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Safety Blanket by SimonLarsen 2014-04-28T22:44:00

I enjoyed this game a lot. It's an interesting take on the theme and it is very unsettling to play. Looks and sounds great and runs perfectly. It's also about something that everyone can relate to. You've captured that vulnerable feeling well.

Hot Diggity by DragonXVI 2014-04-29T19:08:00

This is great! You could release it now as a standalone and I'm sure it'd sell.

A Bigger Fish by jhrrsn 2014-05-03T11:27:00

cool game with a great atmosphere.

Deep South Motel by iossif 2014-04-29T22:03:00

The game looks great and has a nice atmosphere to it. I think the gameplay could much more interesting. Non of the decisions I made felt like they had much impact since they were very similar in what they did. I get the feeling that you were planning on including more resources for the player to manage but you weren't able to implement them due to time constraints.
So yeah, I think if you continue to add more variety to the gameplay then you could be onto a really addicting game.

Beneath the Skin by Linkigi 2014-04-29T18:33:00

Thanks for all the happy faces so far guys. It's super cool to see people responding positively to my thing.
I'm shirtless because I am dead in this photo. The idea being that this is some kind of postmortem dissection-esque dress up game.

Beneath the Skin by Linkigi 2014-04-29T19:55:00

Thanks very much. I've got plans to add a menu type system whereby the player can choose as many of any kind of object they like. Also fixing the sloppy masking. I also have plans for a fryer type area where the objects are now and possibly a second face to mess around with.
Thanks for the feedback =]

Me & My Metal Detector by WeaselZone 2014-04-28T23:21:00

Very charming. I love your use of audio and the art style was awesome. The footprints and tornado add a lot to the game. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you produce next time.

Under Soul by CastEclipse 2014-04-28T17:39:00

very impressive game. Cute mood and graphics with a sweet soundtrack. Plays very smoothly too.
My only concern was when pushing blocks they could often slide right over the holes which was often frustrating and distracted from the mood.
The difficulty curve was fine in my opinion. I did notice a difficulty jump but it wasn't a hindrance to my progression so I don't think it was a problem.

Underground by abcd3901 2014-04-28T23:41:00

I think you've really got something here. Currently the events after each day are interesting but I found I was skipping the text a lot of the time due to how often it comes up.
If you continue working on this game in the direction you are, making it a bit more lively then you could be onto a hit in my opinion.

ps. Also, I think the game could benefit from more of an objective. Nevertheless, great work given the time constraints and everything.

Underground by abcd3901 2014-04-28T23:42:00

pps. Also, the 'Windows' and 'Source' download pages are the wrong way round.

RMBR by Pitoum 2014-05-11T12:15:00

This is a very imaginative game, I love your interpretation of the theme. The idea of pulling the memories towards you is cool and feels very responsive. The whole thing feels very sleek and I haven't experienced story telling in this way before.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Shattered by ThatSamu 2014-08-25T16:54:00

I enjoyed this game a lot. It feels very good to move around and is satisfying when you succeed in completing a planet. The difficulty scales nicely and the interactions between all the different objects in the game adds a nice layer to the gameplay.

Microsystem by Linkigi 2014-08-25T23:51:00

Thanks very much =] I would've loved to have been able to flesh out the interactions some more and include a kind of winning condition (such as painting everything purple) but I left it way too late before working on the game =P
(Then again, it's not impossible that I'll work on finishing the game another time)

Planet rescue by texus 2014-08-25T12:46:00

It felt pretty unfair when I died in this game (especially on the first level) due to hidden traps coupled with the time it takes to do that first section, but the 'Game Over' page was pretty funny. Nevertheless, Your game has a charm to it which kept me motivated to keep trying and beat it.

Parallel by Adam Gould 2014-09-01T18:32:00

Pretty cool thing you've got going on here. However, the game quickly became uninteresting due to the puzzles just being, 'find the button'. I get the feeling that a lot of cool things were planned for this game which weren't implemented due to time constraints. So I think if you continued to work on this and made the puzzles more interesting you could have something really cool.

Tether by Jamage 2014-09-15T01:47:00

Wow this game is really tough. It's fun. It could've been improved with different sounds for when the planets got hit or the tether got hit so you don't have to keep looking up to check what happened. Then again, I suppose that's a risk/reward in itself.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Cathode Ray by Figglewatts 2014-12-08T15:50:00

I think there's a Slight typo on lvl 2 where it says to use 'W' and 'D' instead of 'W' and 'S' (I'm assuming). But I think the game is great. I really like your interpretation of the theme and it feels good to make the electron swoop around.

Pocket Contra Force by nodoxi 2014-12-09T02:46:00

This game looks great, I love the tiny pixel people and all the lighting and particles etc. You've managed to get across that 'Contra feel' for sure. It's fun to play too and I like how the bullets fly all the way across the screen (even if that does make some of the bosses a bit easy).

No Space for Error by Kwask 2014-12-29T23:00:00

Our games are oddly similar =D I had fun but I didn't feel particularly challenged. Your graphics are very nice. They give the game a great mood similar to 'Gods Will Be Watching'. I look forward to playing the post-compo version.

Screen Saver by Vtor 2014-12-09T19:34:00

Love it. The game is well made and I like the way the game accommodates for your skill level with the extra coins when you're doing well but still gets faster. Your take on the theme is cool and the audio works nicely.

Ice Blocks by Troilk 2014-12-09T19:49:00

This is a fantastic take on the match 3 genre. The damageable blocks mechanic makes for some very interesting and rewarding puzzles. I think the scoring system is good but needs a bit more refining, I feel like I'm awarded too many points for matching green blocks for example. Nevertheless, I didn't want to stop playing when the game ended so that alone is a very good achievement =D

The Harrowing by K.Chplr 2014-12-23T15:07:00

Lots of fun. Works perfectly on firefox for me. You got me replaying quite a few times until I hit 29900.

The Story of Cheap Ranger by DavidVisscher 2014-12-09T02:29:00

My favorite entry so far. The game is well designed and it feels very satisfying to shoot arrows. The graphics are simple yet effective and give the game a nice atmosphere.

Flashlight by Team Flashlight 2014-12-10T20:13:00

The game has a very good balance of risk/reward with the combos. I think the movement speed is good how it is, as anything faster would allow the player to walk around the quick ghosts removing the risk/reward. It is satisfying to rack up points and I liked the spooky atmosphere. Got me replaying a few times trying to beat my highscore.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Cleaning the Attic by Wolfgang_ 2015-05-09T15:24:00

I like it. I can see you had a lot of ideas that could be expanded on into a larger game. I especially like the no blow tiles on level 4. I think the game would be improved if you HAD to move on each turn rather than being able to stay in place. I felt like I was able to 'cheat' some of the puzzles this way. Nevertheless I like what you've made =]

Hyper Memory Ocean by Yudaidhun 2015-05-04T12:17:00

My game vs your game. Your game won =P
I love the concept. I feel like it has the potential to be pushed even further.

War Stress by velesey 2015-05-04T12:34:00

I like how the gameplay works as a metaphor ,i.e. the more you try to fight stress, the worse it gets and the more stressed the player will feel. I think the gameplay could have been improved though as I was able to circle the whole blob of enemies quite comfortably. The ammo mechanic works in the games favor though.

Ludum Dare to save your mom! by kill0u 2015-05-08T17:42:00

I love how the playscape changes from day to night and how different the characters feel to control. The grandma feels much more vulnerable and I even found myself getting annoyed at those seemingly impossible to avoid kids. The change in music is great and helps to differentiate the two different characters.

Cosplay Chase by Finn Stokes 2015-05-04T12:52:00

I love how the game can switch from being all sneaky to action so quickly. The themes a funny one too =D. The game would benefit from extra objectives other than being caught (optional pickups or something).

LD33 — You are the Monster

Be THE Monster by eLLectron 2015-08-25T14:11:00

You have really nice graphics and cool music. I tried out a few different monster combinations and like others have said, if the arena ai was a bit better the game could be awesome. When the enemy monsters weren't stuck in corners it was really cool =]

Gravity Snake by lessmilk 2015-08-24T18:10:00

I'm loving the soundtrack and your puzzles are fun. Reminds me of snakebird. Cute graphics and mood =]

EVILATOR by vividhelix 2015-08-24T21:05:00

I love it. Nice take on the theme and really well executed. Quite tricky, made me go back to levels to try and beat my score.

A cup of tea with my Aunti MICROPHONE REQUIRED by Team Klappermann 2015-08-25T14:27:00

Both links work for me. I think I confused my dog win all the growling =P The game looks and feels great as far as atmosphere goes and the 'being the monster' helps with that too. If there was a bit more variety with what you could do as the monster the game could be even better. But yeah, very innovative, good game ^^

Crazy Alien by approxx 2015-08-24T17:39:00

I like the graphics and the audio is great. Controls nicely. Very short but I understand the time limitation. The death animations are good too ^^

The Devourer by bwafflecone 2015-08-24T20:48:00

Cute ^^ made me laugh a few times and I think the (slightly) awkward controls actually improve the game. Got pretty tense in places.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Millenium Fist by AzureAspect 2015-12-15T16:45:00

16497.12
Short and satisfying. A good combo. The voice over definitely added to the experience ^^

All Hail Hair by Aerohand 2015-12-15T03:02:00

I like where this is going. I had to get that random surgery option and I was not disappointed when I did. I like the 'hand-made' audio too. It emphasizes the quirkiness of the game.

Line/Dash by Eingya 2015-12-15T17:15:00

This game is super slick. It feels great when you get a good combo and clear the screen. The gameplay is very interesting and well made. It is simple but has depth. I like the simplicity of the audio and graphics too since they match the gameplay and contribute to the experience as a whole because of this.

The Fastest Trigger In The West by Folztarg 2015-12-15T03:14:00

Great game. I like how the health carries over between rounds. It makes every fight count. It's difficult and kept me determined to keep trying. Really nice graphics and animations.
