0_o Very interesting idea, i like it! ^_^ But SaveLastPosition - it`s a confused name. I think it should be renamed to SavePositionOnReset
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD43 → Platformer.txt

Super interesting idea! If you continue on making this game better and make more gameplay it could really be a game of its own. Super neat!
Very creative idea, I'd like to see where this one goes!
It's a really unique idea that I've never seen used before, and I love it! But I had a few bugs... the reset.txt only worked sometimes, which cause a lot of problems. If you were to polish it and make a lot of levels with even more unique options of movement, that would be awesome!
@luqey can you explain to me where the reset bug happend and in which case
Loved the concept ! Never played to those type of games, I'm really impressed ! Good job
@hugo-kieffer It was on the 3rd level, I spawned the enemy and jumped but didn't do it right, so I restarted it and I just kept falling through the ground... I hope that helps, as I really like this game!
@luqey ok thx i will check
Very very interesting concept, I havent seen game like this before, the mechanics are simple but the concept is great!
This is one of the most unique entries I've seen lol I'm really glad I got to see it. It was pretty fun, too. I'd like to know if you decide to do anything else with this, so I'm following you 3 ;)
great game ! the interaction between the different mechanics is nice, the overall aesthetic is simple and effective. Congrats to the team !
Wow. Not that's unique. We had like 10 different ideas to work on after the theme was revealed. But nothing close to that. Great work!
Cool and creative concept. I struggled a little to move the files back and forth while testing. I am sure that with more time to create more features and work on the level design it will become even better, keep working on it.
Cheers!
Got stuck on the level with the two pillars going up. Really good concept though. My file explorer didn't always update properly if I tried to have two folders open at once, which was a method I thought I could use to make dragging between faster. Something to consider (blame bill gates I guess).
Despite the difficulties, I enjoyed the game overall.
@cindys-arcade @skettynmeebs if you are interested I just created a newsletter for the game
So this is an actual game that is played by manipulating the files in the folder! It's an unseen level of meta for me. Totally creative! Loved it!
@hugo-kieffer Yeah man, sign me up. does this site have DMs?
Haha, what a fun game. My favorite level was the one where you had to time the collision file, that was intense. I must say, I've never seen a game like it either, and I could really see this becoming an even funner full game. Great idea!
@skettynmeebs here is the link for the newsletter https://tinyletter.com/Platformertxt
@hugo-kieffer I'll check out the newsletter too :)
Awesome concept! It was pretty short but had some tricky levels and was really fun.
Super original! Of course right now it's not ultra complex or deep but I'd like to see what sick levels you'll make if you spend more time on it :)
Extremely clever idea and great execution!
Woah, this is cool! I've seen games like this that involve manipulating an in-game file system before, but never the real file system.
A few times it was pretty fiddly switching between windows with the right timing, but it was compelling enough to keep me going. Well done!
This is the kind of novelty that Game jams are all about, well done!
Within the game you accidentally spelled it as "Plateformer"
Hey concept brother ;) Yeah I see where our concepts were similar. I didn't think it would work with a platformer but you managed to make it work ! Putting the files in the game folder is a great idea that I wish I had thought of. ^^ The puzzles were interesting and never too hard. Really good entry ! Congrats :)
Interesting idea. I feel like there could've been a lot more though, like editing the files directly and learning new abilities. It was a good puzzle and I'm glad I got a chance to play it :)
I really liked the originality of this game. The downside was having to move files then quickly switch focus back to the Unity window, but it was manageable. I am not sure how big a game it could be developed into, whether the novelty would wear off. If you added a load of different scripts to manage (to expand it), it'd essentially feel like a cheaper / less configurable block coding system. But I am very pleased to have been recommended this game and given it a play through.
Saw this on the LudumDare feed and the concept caught my attention. Wish I couldve played this on stream, but I do recognize your previous entry that was submitted.
Took a bit to figure out how the moving of files worked like how I needed to activate the "SaveLastPosition" before using the "Reset" file. On the third level I somehow managed to double jump onto the platform using the "SaveLastPosition" file while midjump? I didnt realize that I could bounce on the enemies since I kept dying to it until later haha. I only used one instance of Windows Explorer and it became a bit annoying to have to navigate back and forth between the folders - would have been nice if the folders all reset into the main folder at the start of each level, minus the "PlayerColliderBox". Or maybe if there was a "Reset Files" that I could drag into the Activate folder to bring all the files to the main folder.
While I didnt really see the sacrifice theme, it was a great concept and had fun puzzles :)

@elysiagriffin Thank you for this feedback more than complete, it's true that for the savelastposition it was not clear I should have called it otherwise to make it clearer, it's amazing that you managed to pass level 3 using savelastposition I would have liked to see that, your are right actually I should have made sure that the files reset after each level to make it easier and less disturbing, the game is not really in relation to the theme but at the very beginning we started with the idea that at the end of each level the player would have to sacrifice a part of the avatar (e. g. the view, the sound, the jump....) then I dont remembrer how we got to talking about doing this via files that the player could delete but after this idea we continued brainstorming until we got to the current idea that doesn't really correspond to the theme, but we started from the theme to get to this idea (otherwise we can also say that the dev sacrifices the level management to leave it to the player)
Really cool idea and excecution of said idea. The game looks simple but it plays heavily into it's favour. The audio as well sounds simple but again plays into the games favour. The game itself controlled well, although w didn't jump (not sure if programmed or not), but a and d still moved left and right, which was weird. One thing that I did find hard to get the hang of was having to click back and forth between windows, but this is not a fault of programming, more an inavoidable obstacle given the concept. It's a really cool and I would love to see if fleshed out more, nice work
A really nice idea! Took me a while to figure it out, very interesting, like the way it makes the player think outside the box. The sounds and graphics are very minimalist, I would have loved some music and more developed art. But anyway, I love the game concept. Congrats :D
Wow, this's definitely some thinking outside the box - such a lovely idea. I'd have preferred if the file managment took place withing the game. Win 10 doesn't sometimes refresh, so the player/win user still sees the files that aren't there. (I actually restarted the game thinking I hit a bug, but it was just this...) Also, quickly moving files from from folder and back seemingly isn't what explorer had been really made for  So you could provide a mock OS/GUI (think Kingsway), but that's definitely something outside the scope of a jam game. In any case, this a great entry.
I had an idea like that! This game was really suprising.
Very creative and unusual gameplay ++
Neat idea! I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/3-5x0DQqrYk
really good concept and well realized I think i see another game like that in the LD43
Pretty addictive game. The mechanic, while not the most ergonomic, is really interesting in its implementation here. I'm a bit sad it's not longer, but in 72 hours, it's sometimes hard to do more with less. I really like the saving function to bypass some obstacles, and I'm glad you decided to keep the puzzles simple and accessible for everybody (I'm kinda noob in puzzles, so the only level I has trouble with was the one where I had to put the PlayerCollision.Txt file back in its folder as fast as possible).
The problem would be that the game does not tie much with the idea of sacrifice. Since you have a limited amount of available files per level from the get-go and you can swap easily between them, the trick is more about proceeding by elimination rather than really discarding files to get to the end. Sure, the jump is disabled in the last level, but maybe (just a suggestion) the game should delete itself some files, and you'd have to either recover them or recreate them yourself to continue, that would give the game more puzzles to challenge the player whie giving him a sense of pride for managing to trick the game into it's own... "Game" (pun not intented, yes I'm proud of it).
But as I already said, in 72 hours maybe I'm asking too much. I suggest you to not let that project go away and expand it to make a full-fledged game. Good luck, and good job!
Really innovative idea. What about move files inside game, not windows explorer?
Super interesting idea!
Very innovative idea, I did not realize that I could just set up two file explorer windows and drag between them, that made it much easier.
The fast file movements were kind of hard because of the inherent delay of the file system, but I ended up getting it after many tries.
Awesome job!
The file manipulation is a bit difficult to deal with, especially with the puzzle requiring to drop collision. I ended up using cut-paste, then undo to swiftly take care of the problem, but I don't think most people would have realized that was possible on their OS. The premise is clever, though the puzzles didn't require too much from the player, and could use a bit of work. Would be nice to see more levels.
Pretty neat game!
Have you played [this entry](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/just-delete-them) yet? They used the same core concept of manipulating files outside the game.
Yep @kamekai there is two other game with the concept of manipulating files there is just delet them and documentia
