There is a big lack of feedback, it's hard to pick items and the controls/camera are messy... And I don't know if it's me but when I buy stuff, the count goes down. It's a good start but there's a lot of room for improvement. Still, a 3D game in this frame of time is impressive and I actually laughed at the pun on the title and the names of the mixtures.
I guess I'm dumb 'cause I always lose in seconds and I don't really get how to get better... But I'm amazed by the fact you've done this in a few hours ! I'll try your other games :)
10/10 level of polish. Everything is neat and clean, and above all the gameplay is simple but ultra-fun. The reveal and the build-up at the end was cool! I could easily buy the long version if it existed :)
Physics is a bit floaty and the game clearly needs some checkpoints because starting over 10 times is a bit tedious. But I liked the strange atmosphere and the core concept! Congrats :)
Thank you for your kind comment on my game, I wanted to try yours, still I must be stupid cause I can't manage to launch it. I've got a .jar and a .zip with tons of subfolders. Gimme some advice!
The polishing is very well done! Well, if we admit that the voiceover is parody of course :D And for once, an entry that has a "political" message that gives the game a real goal. Hats off!
Short but addictive, I couldn't drop it until the end. Graphics and audio are super cute. My only complaints are the physics of the jump (you can't make a short hop) and the slippery collisions. The rest is super nice, keep on going :)
The combination of genres is pretty original. I'm usually not a fan of pixel-art but it matches your ambience very well. If the controls and combat system are a bit enhanced, it would give some dope sheit! P.S. Brutal mode is a bit, well, brutal.
Super original! Of course right now it's not ultra complex or deep but I'd like to see what sick levels you'll make if you spend more time on it :)
What the f did I just play? I can't believe it's good though.
Well, I intended to play just 5 minutes but it was so good I made it until the end. Still, killing all these rabbits made me cry :( Great work anyway!
Pretty much hard to grasp at the first tries, and art style is a bit... rough? Still, for a first game I find it very nice and with some improvements it would be super fun :)
Very fun indeed, and it's refreshing to see a 3D shooter among all the other games :) But can't survive more than 10 waves cause I don't have a QWERTY keyboard :(
The base game is indeed a bit unclear, so I randomly dropped pirates and lost over and over. I'll try your post jam build later and rate you based on it :) The boat could have used a bit of movement with the waves. Still, I like the "childish" art style and the tune is catchy!
P.S. the "boom" sound is too much loud, I almost had a heart attack when hearing it
RNG is strong on this one, sometimes the little blue pops right near the goal so I win in 3 seconds. I agree with others that controls are a bit weird (but at least it's reactive). Still, a working 3D game in 3 days is admirable!
The concept seems interesting and I'd have loved to play it more thoroughly, unfortunately you've made only one control scheme (WASD and no arrows) and it's a hassle to play for people like me with a non-QWERTY keyboard :/
I guess it's not breaking news but graphics are on the meh-side, anyway the gameplay ideas are simple but well executed! Maybe balance some powers like the flying because it was a bit too easy. I'd love to see a more complete version of the game :)
As said above, a bit buggy and unresponsive, and maybe too hard (or I suck)? Still, graphics and audio are cool and the base concept is pretty nice :)
Uber level of polishing. All the LD games I've played (mine included) were lacking something, whether it's sound, some mechanic or whatever, but if tomorrow you'd make this exact same game on mobile I'd buy it. Congrats!
The whole package is super nice, from graphics to cutscenes. It's amazing you managed that in 3 days. The only negative point is the super weird hitboxes (I think the grapes have a square hitbox?).
Simple but efficient. Well, as say as above, TOO MUCH simple. The push-up animation was hilarious! Next time, add a bit of gameplay and the package will be very good :)
Super good looking visuals, feedback is indeed a bit hard at first sight and I never succeeded to beat the colossus because the gravity is unreal (when you're hit, you should be pushed behind and not upside). I hope you'll make a more thorough version someday, i'd love to play it!
I had the same bug as the person above, two Grinches in a pool of blood and nothing happened after. Tutorial is indeed a bit overwhelming, and I think the theme is not 100% fulfilled because you could replace elfes with anything, bullets, magic... Still, graphics and mood are top notch for a jam game. If you polish it more on the gameplay side, I think it would be perfect!
@wrexialmt Yep there's a good ending indeed! The 4 sacrifices can be avoided with a logical thinking (+ there are hints), though my playtester GF has told me it could be a bit too hard for a short game. I didn't had the time to ease it but thank you for playing anyway :D
@aortega Yeah I haven't made 80% of the graphics so it's lots of shutterstock images piled over each other, but I'm glad the rest was good, thanks :)
@Blackwen Haha thank you for not rage quitting :D
@simanis It's not really that you suck, more that when I spend 3 days to balance an enigma, I find it easy and forget that some people don't have the same mindset than myself! Many thanks for your kind words, and I'm already working on a full-fledged game :)
@julienlussiez That was the point ;) I hope you managed to make a perfect run after that!
@srx Congrats! And thank you for persevering :)
@crosenlund79 Thanks!
@hunter-towe Thank you so much for your feedback! Yes, the aftermath was a thing I wish I could have worked on better, but I started the jam Saturday evening and I almost missed the deadline by trying to deliver a almost bugless experience :(
Consistent art style is a major focus for me usually, I mean I hate myself for mixing pixel-art tiles with vector clouds. But nice free art on the Internet is much harder to find than I thought. I think I'll make some generic assets in advance for next LD!
Thanks again :)
@quackingtonvi Yup that's the only major bug I ran into and couldn't resolve in time :( Thank you anyway! I'll play yours when I'll be back from vacation :)
@d-studios My GF playtested the game and had the same opinion as you. I started to modify some things but time is time and I couldn't got through it. Thank you for being honest!
@bificommander Well, I guess I can still take it as a compliment if you consider my game belongs in an artistic movement! More seriously, I totally agree that some puzzles were over the top. I spent too much time on the execution itself and not enough on the idea. Anyway, thanks for playing until the end :)
This is the embodification of "start with nothing". When I started out I was like "TF is this?", and at the end I was "I want more!". Really, if you got the occasion, add a bit more gameplay because it's a bit too passive, and make it a full fledged game (maybe mobile?).
As said above, a bit confusing to understand which action does what, but at least it's simple to play! Graphics are clean and effective and the UI is not overcluttered like lots of game here. I don't really know if there is a "win" condition because I suck a bit, but nonetheless it was very fun to play :) Congrats!
Is there only a Linux build?
There's no link :(
Yeah it seems you forgot to unlock controls or something?
Damn I wish I could draw like this. I agree with my fellows up there about the repetitivness. To supress some of it I'd just add some skills everytime you kill a monster that don't take that much time to program: attack more fast, double attack, a key to dodge... But I don't know, maybe you were really short on time :( Anyway, I wish there was (and hope there will be) more! Congrats :)
Pretty sure you're missing something...
I hope there will be an (easy) Windows version someday :)
A bit unclear on the instructions so I tried to experiment by myself, and yeah I definitely suck haha. But you've created a very complex system in 3 days and I'm amazed by that!
I must suck cause I used the walkthrough when I couldn't find the key :( I don't know if it's intended but if you go to the far north east, you can get around the invisible wall and just walk in the desert for hours (or minutes, I haven't tried!). With more visual feedback, it could be awesome :)
Are you planning to make a Windows version?
I'm not really good to these kind of games so I've not really made it far, but I must say that the graphics and UI are very nice!
I 100% did not understand how I beat the game so I can't really talk about the gameplay (just mashed the keyboard and boom over), but everything else is top notch! I join everyone above me :)
It's so stupid and ugly that I fell in love with it, 11/10 would play again
Please update the link I wanna play this!
There's no link :/
Umm I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but even with tons of food and the correct spell toggled, left click isn't launching anything...
Windows 10 x64 I'll try later with a controller to see if it works!
Is there a Windows version?
As my peers, I find it's a bit on the "trial and error" side, but the concept is really good and I really wanted to push until the ending! Congrats :)
Holy crap, I playtested in 50 different ways to be sure you couldn't cheat, but I TOTALLY missed this. Oh well, that happens. Thanks for the heads up everyone! And for the compliments :)
@demuss That's a very nice suggestion, I'll make an update to add it! Thank you very much for playing :)
No Windows version?
Well, I'll not say again what everyone said above me :D Just congratulations, simple but yet effective game! Can't wait to see an enhanced version.
Damn man, there are kids out there, don't scare me so much! As said above, neat ambience. Gameplay is a bit too slow, it would be cool if we could run (even an erratic "junkie-run"). That's some good work in 72 hours!
I sure enjoyed it :)
Game looks cool but yeah, there's no link!
Concept is very interesting, I would just add more feedback, more instructions, because sometimes we players are dumb :) but otherwise it's fun to play! Good job
So simple yet so fun. Finally a polished game in LD!
Great of you to assume the fact that gameplay is wonky! Hey at least dialogues are fun and graphics are cute :)
Hey you should upload a game!
Great concept and execution, but damn I suck at it!
There's no link :(
Mmh, I know I'm being a pain but some people (like me) don't have a QWERTY keyboard. In most games this is not a problem because you can play with arrows, but not yours. I know you can change the setting in Windows but I suck so I'll probably break something :[ Sooo, if you have time to add this until the deadline I'll gladly play and rate your game :)
Oh, it wasn't working last time when I tried. Eh, maybe it was my keyboard. Managed to reach E and space so it's all good :)
Throwing gun mechanic is fun and I like the simple but clean graphics, it works well with the dark lightning. Good job!
No Windows build?
Phew, that was... metaphysical? Great ambience, simple and clever gameplay! I'd love to see this more elaborated :)
As said above, that's slooow. But nonetheless very interesting and eerie!
Finally a game with a gameplay easy to grasp! I would have prefered real levels instead of an infinite runner but hey 72 hours is short for this :)
Oh and I don't know if this would have fit better, but arrows to aim is a bit slow, so maybe the mouse instead?
Great concept anyway!
You should make a more easy way to play, nobody wants to sign up to something to play :/
As said above, a bit buggy, very cryptic, but totally in love with the ambience and the neat tricks like objects disappearing. I hope the new version will be even better!
Simple and silly but fun!
I'll not repeat what others said above, it has some flaws but for a first try it's very good! Congrats :)
Don't waste your time with him, he totally doesn't care about the rules. Just spamming the feed with the same copypaste news, and I'm pretty surprised by the ranking he has. Anyway, admins doesn't care too, even a cheater could be #1.
Edit: Nevermind I just checked the Compo ranking and he's 12 places above the last one, sorry buddy but that's deserved
There's no download link!
You should post a game even if it's crappy!
Hey there, you should put a link to your game!
