The game is fun, but kind of slow.
Very clever. Little things I would've tweaked:
character behaves strangely on platform corners. Did you use 2d rigidbody for the movement?
Slimes are very slow, so sometimes you have to just sit and wait until he will move and give you enough space on the platform
Other than that - the game is very cool.
You definitely spent too much time on the art and didn't have time for polishing the game: Pathfinding for the enemies is very strange, they walk through the walls and unwalkable areas sometimes. On the second level there is a bugged pile of gold that you can get infinite amount of times. I hope that you will update this game at some point at itch.io
Wow, that was VERY short. I admire your art - it is absolutely stunning. Combined with ambience, sfx and effects, it creates really immersive game. A few things I would've tweaked - some kind of text when you loot the shelves - I only realized that I was getting ammo out of there at the end of the game; a pause in the whole game after going to another room instead of just frozen character - currently enemies are attacking you as soon as they see you, but you are frozen for 0.5-1 seconds after entering the room.
Overall - you made a really cool, but short game.
I really liked how you draw train, it is quite stylish.
About the game: there is really not much to do in it. Enemies are coming only from one point, so you can just hold your mouse to shoot them as they come. Also I noticed that there is a bug - shooting sound is played only if you click the mouse, if you hold it - there will be no sound.
You should really practice more with the Unity.
Also, you should go out and rate games, otherwise nobody will be able to find yours - you have 0 balance.
Neat little game. It certainly deserves extra score for options and nice UI
Very basic "heat signature"
Very neat little game.
Pros: - Amazing art style. I really admire your skills, visual part of the game is a very strong overall. - Sound design. The voiceover is gorgeous, if I were you I would have became a youtuber or at least a twitch streamer, your voice and ability to use it is a goldmine.
Cons: - After some point of the game, it's impossible to lose. I think that this is because your tower is still exists from the bottom no matter how high you are right now. So at the some point of the game you can just spam "space" and your goblins will catch the tower no matter what, as they have plenty of time while falling all the way down. - Also it would have been nice if you had an option to tune volume.
On the whole, a good time! I think, you can easily sell license to some "flash games" website. If I were you, I would have watched towards Y8 and Kongregate.
Very fun game. Almost finished everything with 100% but level 5 is too much.
The game is very fun and looks really good. The only issue I have is the controls - it's hard for me to keep my hand on 1234 and it would be much better if there were an option to change it. But overall - very cool, you might even try to port it to mobiles, the controls there would be much better.
S .
It's a cool game but figuring out how to make a pizza was a hard work
Art is amazing, but physics realization made me really sad. You should definitely keep up the work.
Pretty fine game it had me hooked till the moment I finished it.
But there are some issues: pathfinding is bad(both for enemies and allies), UI buttons sometimes doesn't work sometimes and scales/positions itself on screen badly - they are often offscreen. Gameplay is a kind of slow and empty.
Overall, I liked the game, but you should keep working on it.
@naminuz dialogue windows. In windowed they are small and almost always are in the screen. In fullscreen they are almost two times bigger and often go out of screen borders. window.JPG fullScreen.JPG
Art style is amazing.
Idea is cool, but realization of it lacks polishing.
First of all - you should've made attacks facing cursor direction, not character's. Secondly - hitting through the walls is not cool, you should add a raycast to check if you are not hitting a wall.
Nice ideas - theme overall is pretty good, death screen scared me. BUT some polish on the game would be really nice. For example - a simple restart button.
Also, go out and play some other games, otherwise nobody will ever find your game - you are at negative rating. I found it through twitter. You earn rating through leaving a rating for other games/leaving some feedback.
The game is good but certainly have issues.
First about good sides - the game is ambitious in content, seeing all this attributes on items made me wounder how much you can do with it. This is a strong RPG element along with the ability of picking up weapons. Also, music was chosen very well, it is fitting the game nicely.
Cons are: the enemy pathfinding(they usually get stuck in crates and you have to walk around the level and find them), sounds (there are a lot of strange glitches that hurt ears) and controls (permanent right click is bad, as people already mentioned).
Overall, pretty fun little game, and I really do believe that you can fix it and even make it into small action-rpg game in after LD version.
The graphics and music are amazing. Gameplay should have been a little faster - currently mana is recharging very slow and it kind of breaks action.
Nice little game. The one thing I would've fixed is the death screen - there should be one.
I think it is the winner
One thing I would recommend to change - sneaking part. It just looks strange that if you stand in place and stop holding shift - dogs notice you.
Except that, pretty solid game. We had the same idea.
Very good graphics part, especially lights On the downsides - enemy pathfinding and colliders. When enemy is coming above you, they can "hit" you with their feet in your head, but the game is kind of isometric and it breaks the angle
Very good one. Too sad it is kind of short, but nevertheless it was a good experience I even think that you may make it part of some other game, this kind of inventory management is very interesting on itself
Really liked the art, it was done great. The inventory part is very fun and interesting, but action part lacks some involvment At least a little line with message "skeletor missed the attack with 3% hit chance" would make it more engaging for the player
Graphics are very nicely done Controls are hard, it's very rough, but the game requires some precision Overall, I liked playing it, nice entry.
First thing that strikes me - tutorial is masterfully done. You really have the talent to explain everything about the game without any words.
Art is simple, but very sweet. Animations are very nice. Sound is done very well, it really accompanies the game overall.
Gameplay is very addictive - smart puzzles and heroes with distinctive abilities puts the game together, making you want to play it further more.
Also, way you did good/bad ending is very smart, I really liked it (though I got "bad" one).
Amazing entry, masterfully done. Great job!
Art is great. Animations are very good, especially the crow man. I know how tedious making pixelart is, so you are real heroes for doing it that good.
Sadly, I can't say much about the gameplay. I really wanted to enjoy the game, but HTML version has too many technical problems (can't say if windows build have them as I only have linux pc), one of them in particular didn't let me pass the first altar - it seems that there is a memory leak, as after some time playing tab in browser just freezes. Happened to me many times, had to completely reopen them. Also, after reload my max health dropped to 2. I don't know if thats by design, I've noticed that maxhealth is set randomly after restarts, but 2 is too little. And a small thing you could've fixed - player shoots at mouse press without any cooldown, so you can cheat with mouse button that does multiple presses.
Overall, I wish you good luck with next entries as you look like you can make something outstanding. Just pay more attention to technical side of the game.
Very simple concept which was professionally executed. Visuals are cool - very simple but distinctive sprites which adds to readability of the game. Thanks to it every action is intuitive. You totally nailed sound effects, those are amazing. Sound in game deserves 6 stars. Gameplay is fun. The closest game I can compare with this one is Paperwork, which was filled with satyr as well, but here the game is more fun overall. One thing I would add to the game is some logical ending. (Maybe there is one, but I hadn't reached it? For now I just assume that you cant progress after level 7-8 because of how much money it needs)
Once again you delivered a very good game. Great work!
Very good one, I cleared all levels. Concept is excellent, my only suggestion would be to add more types of puzzles.
I was pretty amused by how good you thought out gameplay. After I selected first level I thought - "How the hell do I play?" and game showed me how exactly should I play. Also, help button is great - just shows you direction but not the path. Even though concept of the game is nothing innovative, it is very well executed - puzzles are very thought out. Art is decent, animations are good. I am still surprised that you did it on pure js, great work. On the downsides - there are no sound. At least some simple SFX would be 100 times better.
Good entry, good luck with it!
Game really lacks sound and "need to hurry". In "Papers, please" you **needed** to hurry because of back story - you have family, you have house. You need to pay for it, you need to save some money, that made you value your time. Here you can kind of slack and nothing really bad will happen (or maybe it will and I just missed that part)
Other than that - game is fun and tells an interesting story. Also, seeing Godot entry warms my heart for some reason.
Simple visuals, yet they look stunning thanks to visual effects, screenshake and other small stuff that you proficiently put in.
In gameplay I'd suggest to make player a bit faster, all combat looks fast-paced, but the player is too slow for that, even with dash.
Anyways, great game!
p.s - fileshare website looks shady, I think it might've scared some people off. I'd suggest using itch.io/google/mega or something else
At the beginning I was avoiding enemies as I thought they would damage me when touching my tail. When I realized they wouldn't I just stopped at place and let them eat me. It took a while.
Interesting take on a "snake". Overall - good entry, good luck!
Thank you all so much for your great feedback! I am currently figuring out how to develop this game into nice mobile strategy, so all your suggestions are very valuable. I will definitely check out all your games as well once I get my windows laptop. Right now I can only play web/linux games.
Your art is great - palet is sweet, UI is clear and very stylish. Overall game looks gorgeous.
However, I didn't quite feel the game - I've just picked some random cards and won it after day 5. I don't know if I've missed something very important.
Overall, you guys are great. I've played your game at LD40 and I can tell that you have talent and passion. Good luck!
The music was best so far from what I've heard on jam. Art is excellent and I was really surprised to see that you did separate sprites for sacrificed limbs. That's a lot of hard work!
Few things I've noted that you could change to make game even more better: - Stunned enemies still damage player on touch. That killed me in my miserable attempts to do pacific run. - After some time, I've lost all sounds. I think it happened after i sacrificed my head, after restart I couldn't hear anything.
Great entry, good luck with it!
Very nice game. Too sad it's so short. Overall mood and graphics are great. Really feels like all 'Go' puzzles on phones (like hitman go, deus ex go, etc). I think you can develop it into something similar if you introduce more mechanics and puzzles. Overall - great game. Good work, keep it up.
P.S. I've also noticed one bug - if you pick up idol at your last movepoint it won't show up in sacrifice menu.
When I saw the theme for the first time, I immediately remembered about "Reigns", but then I thought - "If I won't have anything to add to the game, it would just be a rip-off". Sadly, I feel the same about this game. It is basically "Underhand" which was great and innovative, but the game adds nothing to it and it feels bad. Your art is great, theme is at spot, but the game provides nothing new to already existing concept, which I find really sad.
This game gave me a very good nostalgia and I think I played it a bit longer than I should've.
Concept itself is nothing innovative, but it is executed very well. Polishing is great, I also really like shop that gives you progression between play sessions.
I don't know any technical background of the game so I don't know if it is possible, but I think that the game would fit mobiles very well.
Overall, great job, keep it up.
Overall - game is good
I really like visual part
Controls are clunky, game lacks overall progression
I see you made android build - It may be step into right direction. I feel that this game might fit mobile very well if you add progression to it and will fix movement
Хорошая работа.
Visuals are amazing. Pixelated 3d character is great(Now I want to see the model), lights and shadows are stunning, I always love them in 2d pixel environments. Special thanks for writing all your tricks here as it is very important for me. Music is great as well. One thing that annoyed me in gameplay - ranged enemies damage you on collision. So, you have to charge them, but cant get too close as it will damage you. Sometimes it is just frustrating.
P.S. never hurt the dog
I really like your art. Few problems I've had with the game - balance is very rough at the start, after a while clicking on each individual cultist/recruit starts to annoy Overall - good game. I think it may have good future if you choose to develop it after jam.
Very good one. Art is amazing, sound is good and the gameplay is super satisfying. Momentum is done so well. One little thing that should could be better in my opinion - there is no tutorial about doors that require building a snowman. I figured it out in the game on my own when tried jumping over it, but some kind of tip there would be nice. Great entry, good job!
And special thanks for your post about technical side of the game, it was very interesting to read how you managed to achieve some of this stuff.
Core gameplay is simple, but art is very stylish, music and sounds are amazing. Great work!
It's nice. A bit short and few things are missing (like sounds). It's obvious that you did not have enough time but still, the result is quite impressive.
Good luck!
Very good game overall. It was pretty fun and addictive - I've completed it. Also, your sound design is excellent, nice work!
Pretty repetitive at the start and at the end. Has some feeling of emptiness, but overall it's a good game.
The only thing I was missing is the ability to destroy unwanted buildings.
Very fun and addictive! Also, pixel art is amazing.
Great job overall.
I'm very sorry for that bug with cat naming. I'll fix it, but for now avoid using "R" for your own safety
Nice art. Controls are a bit loose for a platformer. Also, would be nice to have a little pause after a scene transition, like in mario. Also, I managed to get stuck in platform one time.
Other than that, it was a pretty fun game. Good idea with picking up character abilities.
I really like graphics (particles work is amazing) and audio. It really accompanies gameplay very well.
Very interesting, addictive game. I've been struggling at the beginning but managed to finish it on 5th (or so) try.
Great art and writing. Can't say I liked rock-paper-scissors (I've just started spamming one option on my 3rd try) but I can't really say which mini-game would fit better.
Overall, very good one. And the game certainly doesn't look like it has been done on kolenka.
Game has good art and music. Gameplaywise I can say that I don't understand how I can possibly lose, I guess you need to work on core gameplay a bit more.
Very good one, keep it up!
Wow, that is a genius idea. This is the first time I see twitch game on LDJam.
Great work
Amazing pixelart!
Really great entry. Somehow, I didn't have problems with a tutorial - everything in the game felt intuitive for me, even though I never seen a bagel.
Very atmospheric, very modern. Thanks for sharing it with me, I really enjoyed it.
Also, forgot to make honorable mentions:
1. Breaking the cycle by getting late to job or using butter knife is cool. I'll definitely dig into the game again to actually explore all it has to offer. 2. Painful silence is only destructed by exploding noise of alarm clock. It feels very in place, even though you just didn't have time to properly add more sounds.
Some problems: 1. Font is sometimes unreadable. The game is heavily based on a reading. I see the conflict there. This is not what I expect from a jam game (furthermore, my game doesn't have ANY sounds at all), but to give you future directions: Atmospheric sounds and music would actually be amazing, otherwise game feels empty. This fact is both upside and a downside in a game. I guess, you can make silence as an effect, that would help to build atmosphere in moments where it needs to be.
Straight up amazing. Somehow I got two endings, though I still don't know how I did that
Nah, I meant that I finished game 2 times: first time I saved my dudderino and we ran away somehow, but second time he got caught. Still no idea how I did that, I don't think I did something special this time
@msiddeek well, actually you've executed everything gameplay-wise very well. I've had the same idea for a game, but instead of your clone, you had second character you can record actions for. But as it turned out, nobody got that idea and played the game differently.
So I think that you did some great gamedesign here.
Can agree - would be nice to see which items you currently have. Other then that - pretty fun little game
Thank you all for your kind words! It's very motivating, really.
@grizeldi thats strange. I use firefox and it works fine. Might help if you'd open F12>Console and showed which errors do you have
I really liked visual style and daggers mechanic. Jumps are super satisfying, I'd like to play something with all this stuff. But the camera is straight up awful - you cant see much, cat really grapple at objects you'd like to grapple. Anyways, pretty impressive for a compo.
Very beautiful and moody. Good job.
Game is super polished - sounds, music, graphics and animations are great for such small period of time. I'm amazed you've made different models for different gamestates.
Few downsides: Too sad there is no proper gameover - both for winning and losing the game. Strict camera angle is also not ideal, makes it kinda hard to see traps in some parts of island.
Link is dead
Pretty solid top-down shooter. Decent sound design, clear visuals, overall feels very nice.
Some issues: 1. Camera made me dizzy 2. I'm sad that you didn't port face indicator of your health, like in first game.
Very good one. Overall idea is nice and creative. I hope that game really has network connection, because it felt amazing when I realized what it's about.
I liked it. The only suggestion I have is - when you kill innocent bystander, I wouldn't have ended the game - I would add the ability to kill your past self on the next day, to prevent it.
- Art - amazing. It's cute and cartoony, fits the game perfectly. - Sounds - music is fine, nice background for chill gameplay. Sounds - very vell put, they are adding to the mood. - Gameplay - Simple, yet addictive. I was sucked in, even completed the game.
Some notes: Spinning spoon in a soup was very satisfying. I guess, you should add more of those immersive elements if you ever continue development. Cutting vegetables, firing on stove, serving plate.
I really believe you can make it in mobile game. Hell, you can just port current build and put it out as a "demo" in android store, to get motivated and work on project more. Overall - amazing entry. Wish you all luck and hope you will find energy in yourself.
Pretty horror-y. I would've raised resolution a bit and made textures more pixely.
I guess the type of gameplay you chose for this requires tons of polising. Gameplay feels janky because of animations. Pretty surprised to see something with voiceover and story, that was cool.
Very strong entry. Minimalistic and very stylish. Gameplay is very relaxing, feels like kindla puzzle/action mix. Very original - never saw anything like that. Feels like you can release it on android right now, just as a demo.
Link is dead
Amazing entry. Very fun and additcive. Thanks for adding leaderboard, that gave me some kind of goal and satisfaction when I reached 4th place.
Concept of endless runner on one screen might be very good idea. If you find content to populate it with, I think it would become a good game for mobiles
Art design is great. Few sprites feel like they are off (like trash bin), but all the others are very well done. Sound design feels nice - good SFXs, nice ambient office sound. Overall - game is very polished: all the arts for tutorial, scene transitions, game page.
But gameplay lacks - feels very boring. Honestly, I dropped it after second day. I feel like I would've played longer if walking speed and timelaps during actions were faster.
Nevertheless, I feel like those issues can be fixed, if you wish to fix them - other aspects of the game were made very solid.
Neat little experience.
Artwork is amazing, mood and style of the game are the strongest parts of it. This said, gameplay is kinda clumsy and lacking. The amount of enemies towards the end is insane, and I haven't been able to beat rabbit king. Overall, I had my fun with the game, very solid entry, good luck!
@viperux yes, this is canon ending to the story
I liked the game, but well, it is very hard. I don't think it's possible to lose, but I am certainly not winning.
Music gives a nice throwback to transport tycoon.
Screen gets cluttered with wires/indicators/numbers way too quickly.
Overall, I think this is a pretty good game, but it is tricky.
@memoryfloater you are not a regular worker anymore - you are lead manager.
I wish car didn't just blow up on colliding with lava pits, but fall into it.
Very appealing visual style!
Well, looks nice but there is no way for me to play
But I am super curious to see gameplay with console on video
@jake-white thanks a lot for the video! Looks really cool
Game is amazing.
Element stuff is insane and I wish there were more space to experiment with these spells and combinations, but I know that jams are hard. Hope you will continue developing this mechanic.
Music gives strong tetris vibes, I like it.
Overall - interesting ideas, fun game. Good luck!
Visuals are super cool, that's amazing how much you've managed modeled on this short time.
I shall say that the pig boss isn't really fair, I'm pretty sure I was the only one WORKING at the office but still he has fired me.
State of art graphics, really amazing job.
Music perfectly fits gameplay really and sounds lovely.
Gameplay-wise this project is very interesting, for final player it is structured as follows: - Read manual - Try - Read manual again - Try - Learn manual by heart - Finish task
Buttons on the screen, the ones you called "fidget toys" are amazingly fitting in this style of in-world-UI. First thing I did (right after reading manual, of course) was clicking on all these buttons to get satisfying animations and sounds. Kinda sad not all of them were interactive, but this is just a note for future you.
Overall: Amazing, I've had my fun with this game
Damn, these visuals are kicking ass. Very polished.
Controls require some time to understand, I'd say that aiming is kinda confusing at first.
Didn't really understand how to get combos (simple gif on game page would fix that) and what causes gameover, but nevertheless playing the game is satisfying: finishers, UI,and sound are making up a very solid game experience.
I also wish there were highscore table, just to see how I did. By the way, my hi-score was only 20510
Братья с игрой про реактор.
- Cool art - Fun voiceover - Pleasant, simple gameplay - Vodka lounge
Pretty good one!
Just amazing how much you managed to make in this short term. Very solid gameplay, I enjoyed playing it.
Great work!
