Shame you started sunday afternoon, could have been really cool if you had all the time. I actually like it. Its simple but works :)
I loved it! I felt in the illusion of safety for the few first levels until I got surrounded and died. As someone else said, shame you didn't have more time :P
Nice once, addictive. Have you tried changing blaster for some sort of melee weapon. Basically I had enough time to shoot two enemies while they were aiming. Nevertheless it a good game. Music fits perfectly.
Great work, music is fantastic. Controls are just difficult enough to be rewarding. Very tense at higher levels (got killed on level) in a good way - felt like being a robot superspy in some moments, running, hiding and shooting. Brings back great memories of classic 8-bit pc games.
I liked it. The game starts simple enough but it can get quite hard in later levels. Good job.
The game controls really well. I think you struck a good balance between smoothness and responsiveness there. Thanks for including the dev highscore, that's always an interesting stat to know (I didn't come close!)
Great game concept, would have loved to have SFX in the game. Fun game :D
I had a lot of fun playing this. Controls worked well and the levels were fun. Could definitely be built upon. Great work!
It's fun and quite exciting, and plays well. Sound effects would have been nice.
I like the tactic part of the game kinda feels like real time x-com but the movement was so fluid that I always ended up in the corners
Feels great to play! I like the slowness of the bullets in this case, makes for excellent 'strafing past a corridor' moments! One thing I'd change is that the 'return to pod' message is only visible if you can see your pod, making it hard to know when you've cleared a level if you're deep into the maze. Just a pod icon or something in the corner would do the trick!
It's pretty fun, I played a few levels in and died, when I hit restart it took me all the way to level 1 instead of restarting the level which was very frustrating.
The game being enjoyable and featuring multiple level is really impressive if you got only 24h.
As for possible enhancements I would propose to put "return to pod" message always on screen instead of on the pod which is often offscren, give some explaination about the scoring system (I still didn't figured it out) and allow the player to restart the current level instead of from the begining.
@sgadrat, thank you for your feedback, the scoring system is just an indicator of how many levels you have beaten in a row.
Nice game you have here. SUPER WELL DONE!
Come check out my game if you like! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/virus-detected
Pretty simple, but fun game! And the music fits really well too. The graphics are quite nice as well.
Small thing: Sometimes, I did get get "stuck" near a hallway (I could only move in two directions, while you'd expect three), but not always (I can't really reproduce this). But normally the movement was really smooth.
I liked your entry a lot! It was fun with some well thought out mechanics (Like the doors, for instance). It had an interesting stealth aspect (kinda) with some run and gun stuff too.
I also wanted to recommend putting the "Return to Pod" notification on as a HUD rather than just by the pod. Also, being able to hold the fire button so that you could fire as soon as you reloaded would be a nice feature as well.
Keep it up thought and it'll be great!
Very basic "heat signature"
