the game seems to have an interesting idea, but when i enter in the first publishing house an error occurs and block the whole game :/ tell me if you have the same bug from the web link and if it's the case, tell me when you fixed it, it will be a pleasure to test your game.

maxklimenok 2018-12-09 08:06

@kanacell Thank you for playing our game! We fixed the issue and added win32 build for just in case some one will have problems with WebGL. So please give our game a second try!

The tutorial felt a bit lacking, and consequently, I was a bit lost initially. The tutorial doesn't show the control scheme shown in the second image of this game and it also didn't tell me about the obstacles. I had no clue how to switch to the dark world and I didn't realise that hitting into rubbish cans and what have you makes you lose ideas. I would recommend adding an in-game control scheme display and adding feedback for when you hit an obstacle (maybe flash the screen red or highlight the fact that I have lost ideas). Other than that, the graphics are good with some minor gameplay problems. The controls sometimes felt weird, particularly that down arrow did the same as up arrow (maybe instead drop through platform?). I didn't feel that the menu reflected the game, and the menu didn't feel like it belonged. There could have maybe been a reflection of the dark vs light which seems to be pretty important. Ultimately the writing thing felt forced, and didn't seem to fit the gameplay too well. Great creation however, with some outstanding 3D graphics.

I really like this game! I can even say that this is best game I played this LD so far. Maybe it's not a best game, but I surrelly enjoy it most of all games. I like the premise and gameplay, but I would appreciate bit more fluid movement, it feels bit clumsy. I also encountered few bugs with movement, when character couldn't decide if he want to continue or go back. I would also like to have option to jump down to lower platforms. Otherwise, you've done great job.

dexp 2018-12-09 16:10

The strongest part is definitely graphics, especially 3D models. It doesn't look like a one-man indie game, but as a studio work. The weakest part is a gameplay bugs: it is really easy to stuck between a platforms. Conclusion: just hire one more programmer and go to Steam. :-)

dbongames 2018-12-09 16:22

Really interesting idea and enjoyed all the info graphs haha. But it would have been nice to have more in game feedback about what was happening. Something I struggle with myself, its always easy to miss when your the developer it seems. Also, the controls and movement were a little glitchy at times making it a little frustrating to control the character. Overall an interesting concept for sure!

vlandemart 2018-12-09 16:42

Overall - game is good

I really like visual part

Controls are clunky, game lacks overall progression

I see you made android build - It may be step into right direction. I feel that this game might fit mobile very well if you add progression to it and will fix movement

Хорошая работа.

@dexp @dbongames Thanks for feedback! Actually 11 people (students mostly) have been working on the game, 3 of which are programmers: 2 juniors and me. Most of the code has been written by juniors and rewritten by me the last moment. So I guess firing 2 programmers shall do the trick! ;-)

If we decide to go on with the game, the proper tutorial and ingame hints will be introduced for sure, as well as half of the game code to be rewritten from scratch.

maxklimenok 2018-12-09 17:18

@justcamh @jac-b Thank you for your feedback and playtesting. As mentioned above there was no time to introduce proper tutorial and we will do it for sure as well as onscreen hints. Also it worth mentioning that "mobile" is the target platform for the game. So we tried to keep amount of input keys as low as possible (jump, dash and switch world) adding another button (jump down) for mobile platform might become to overwhelming for average mobile player... so we intentionally abandoned this option and "gravity" is the only way to get down.

I had very high hopes seeing the great presentation for this game :) The graphics are nice and polished, but I couldn't get along well with the control scheme. Often time the character would jump again by itself straight after a jump, making it hard to collect ideas. Also, sometimes the character would behave very erratically like slowing down mid-air and starting to shake, sometimes getting stuck. Not sure if this was part of the gameplay or some kind of bug. Also, it was frustrating that the "checkpoints" like the sanity house, home, etc were skippable by means of jumping over them. If you do so by mistake you have to walk a whole other round in order to get back there.

Very cool game. I like the concept and the theme was well implemented.

I am a sucker for dynamic soundtracks, so you won me with how the music changes as you change sides. It make you feel really stress and wanting to return. Which is probably the idea.

Overall, amazing job!!! Probably the biggest team I've seen this year.

P.S. Check out my game to see more dynamic soundtracks ;)

jeplmr 2018-12-10 23:05

Nice work on the visuals! Cool entry, thanks for having a WebGL build available.

zetorama 2018-12-11 09:21

Very cool concept and nice graphics! It seems, there are still few bugs, but don't fire your developers — they did a great job :)

raveroth 2018-12-11 16:39

Nice game!

kanacell 2018-12-11 16:59

@maxklimenok so, I finally have times to test your game ;) and well, like I said, the game is very interesting. The graphics are really nice but the controls feel a bit "weird" to me. I didn't read all the other comments but I think I'm not the only to say that ^^'. The input to move down from an upper platform could be useful in the movements. otherwise, it's a nice game. Well done to the whole team !

(edit: I just read one of your comment when you said that your support target is mobil and you would keep at minimum the allowed inputs. maybe you could use a "down swipe" to match with the "jump down" action. Plus, maybe you could put the camera a little bit further to allow more vision to the player)

You guys should watch this. Honestly, I'm kinda disappointed with all those team members. It seems a bit... underdeveloped.

Edit: after looking back, ghghghgghghghghg. I wish I could word this. AYAYAAYAgood job.

lukel 2018-12-11 17:40

Really like the flip to the dark side and back! The music adds a great feel to the game. Falling into the gas / holes and spamming jump to try and get out can be abit buggy. Overall enjoyable game to play!

peterfonts 2018-12-11 18:40

Good game with awesome graphics! But there are things that maybe you'll can improve: - The graphics are awesome, but not intuitive and clear. There are sometimes that the UI needs to be more understandable than beautiful, some UI elements are small and don't have a good feedback when the players collect items. - The goal... is complex to know the objectives and the goal, is not clear at the beginning and is too long the gameplay to understand it. In a LD competition is better to do a short game with a clear goals and if you'all have more time iterate with more contantent or levels. Before publish the game, test with people and you will see if they undestand it or not. Especially in a runner game. - Some game examples: · Totem Runner · Runner3

Overall is a good game! Keep it doing games! :left_facing_fist_tone3:

I just loved the musics <3. Great graphics too. Good job, guys.

shujal 2018-12-20 14:16

I like the core idea of the game, but the user experience could be improved a bit: The camera moving vertically with the player is unexpected and makes you unaware of what's going on below (i.e. if it's safe to drop down from a platform). Switching to/from the dark side is a bit disorienting with the camera rotating around and the direction switching. I would instead just swap out the models/textures. However the overall graphics and polish of the game is great, I'm impressed you managed it within the time limit!

eli-delventhal 2018-12-20 21:32

Well made game, lots of visual polish. I found the gameplay lacking though, because the core interaction wasn't tight enough – the platforming. Didn't really feel in control, didn't have context of where I was going, wasn't sure where to find keys, etc. I was really excited for this! Would love to play a post-compo version.
