Funny and wierd! Groovy music too :)

pink-shard-games 2020-10-06 10:41

Absolutely loved it! Good work

w0nk4 2020-10-06 10:43

This is the most funky game I have played in my life. Well done you guys! Great idea and perfect execution.

jonah 2020-10-06 10:47

oh yeah 🎶! Great turing test!

The game really sets a great mood and fits the theme perfectly.

one thing: I thought U was clicking away the message, that said you guessed wrong, but instead I guessed wrong again 🤣 maybe make it so you do not click underneath the message.

I really adore this game and the graphics + music are really top notch 💯

awesome job!

jrevel 2020-10-06 10:51

A perfect jam game ! I love it !

tamail 2020-10-06 11:05

This is sooo goood! I can't believe this was done in 72 hours - the graphics, sound, idea itself... everything is awesome!

vlandemart 2020-10-06 11:08

Very good one. Overall idea is nice and creative. I hope that game really has network connection, because it felt amazing when I realized what it's about.

khadia 2020-10-06 11:16

What an interesting and fresh idea, super cute, loved the "multiplayer" aspect. Really good art and music. Great job!

kyontyan 2020-10-06 11:27

The music is cool. Like the concept and art! But it is little bit hard to get from the start what you need to do actually. Or maybe it's just me, who is not smart :DDD All in all great job! Loved the customization.

nohua 2020-10-06 16:04

So cute. I am glad you finished this. I saw your post updates!

hank-ather 2020-10-06 17:41

Such a fantastic idea- are the user dances actually stored in a database? If so, that's really amazing.

dangerblack 2020-10-06 17:42

Really nice game! I liked the music! probably a competitive version can be even funnier! but quite lovely indeed

fishmasterino 2020-10-06 20:58

Best one I've played so far, this was so fun ! I wish I could dance like this. I think it would be cool if the music didn't stop when finding a friend.

coding4rtist 2020-10-06 21:03

Really funny game, enjoyed playing it! Loved the characters, are so cute. Music is also amazing and very well made. Good work!

savvy-community 2020-10-07 08:36

@ventz @pink-shard-games @w0nk4 @jrevel @khadia @coding4rtist thank you so much guys <3, it means a lot to us!

@jonah you're absolutely right, we noticed too late that it was going be an issue! Thank you so much for the nice words  (turing test indeed: https://twitter.com/savvy_community/status/1312429816428273666)

@tamail thank you! Making games in a short time has become kind of our specialty! We're planning on producing a "real" game, now that we have some (enough?) xp to do so :)

@vlandemart @hank-ather thank you guys! Every choreography you created is indeed stored in the database and all the players (including you) got a chance to encounter it as a "human" later in the game :) (ATM there are a lot of "fwd", "ffffff" etc... because we devs have sent lots of dancers while testing ^^)

@kyontyan thank you so much! We don't think you're not smart, it may be a bit confusing at the beginning :) but anyway losing a few times is fiiine if it's what it takes to understand the goal ^^

@nohua thank you, we're glad too :)!

@dangerblack thanks! We like the idea of a competition too, for now we just might do a choreography tournament, with open votes on twitter (you're in?? what is your in-game pseudo ;) ?)

@fishmasterino thank you so much! You're right! We had issues in the past with synchronizing multiple audio looping tracks, and we REALLY wanted an incrementally powerful music from round to round :)

thank you all again for the kind words

snotax 2020-10-07 11:22

Great game :D Very nice music and color effects. It all fits perfectly together with the theme and the dance animations. Very well done !

eugenik 2020-10-07 11:33

Very solid. I like it.

erlioniel 2020-10-07 12:02

Amazing one, like the art & music :D

h-moon 2020-10-07 14:34

Love the feel, nice work!

celuloide 2020-10-07 14:37

Cool concept! it fits the theme in a pretty smart way, I like it! also the music is 10/10. Good job!

m-dam 2020-10-07 14:38

Cute!

quack-doctor 2020-10-07 15:39

Really neat take on the topic :) It's a cute polished little game, the dance moves are hilarious and I enjoyed it!

wouter52 2020-10-07 15:59

This game is so cool! I wanted to try it for the last view hours and finally I had some time :D

This is a very unique take on the theme, I like it a lot. The graphics are cute and the music is catchy. The fact that users can interact is a very cool touch! How did you do that? Do you have a database somewhere? I had a good time playing it!

karin-g 2020-10-07 16:11

Really nice game! Good job :D

n8dev 2020-10-07 17:39

Awesome game! Came from your blog post. It took a while for me to figure out what was happening, but after the first couple rounds I really got into it! The only thing that might make this better, is making the dancers ragdolls, I feel like that would be really funny XD. Best rating I've given a game so far, awesome job!

savvy-community 2020-10-07 19:14

@snotax @eugenik @erlioniel @h-moon @celuloide @m-dam @quack-doctor @karin-g thank you guys so much :)

@wouter52 thanks a lot! We're glad you finally got to play it ^^ ! We use a database-like system thanks to Google Apps Script, that's a system we used for a few previous jams, but in a less funky way than this :)

@n8dev thank you so much!! We're so glad you enjoyed it that much :). Ragdolls are a Yes! See you in there!

harrm 2020-10-09 22:03

Must be the best one, especially regarding fun, that I've seen.

moski 2020-10-09 22:13

That was very boppin'!

firefox_YVyERlwebF.png

Got to say, this is an interesting take in "spot the difference" games, and a hilarious one to boot. The dancing animations are just undiluted joy to watch, and I really liked making my own too. I can't give this game enough praise, although I do think I found a lot of duplicates in my playthroughs. Still, had a blast with those animations and tunes!

Best wishes, and keep on jammin'! 🐳

jamesor 2020-10-09 23:03

fun animations and easy to figure out UI.

jd557 2020-10-10 11:27

What an innovative concept.

The music was pretty jammin and really sets the mood. Congrats!

interstateeight 2020-10-10 11:30

Ah, this is such a smart idea and execution! I don't see myself playing it for very long, but it's perfect as is! Great, fresh entry.

roboshamit 2020-10-10 11:42

Loved the visuals! Well done.

larsdahl 2020-10-10 11:46

Cool game, great interpretation of the theme. And fun :)

fragileannihilator 2020-10-10 11:49

This is probably the most well executed game that I've played so far. It's amazing that you managed to do this within 72h. Totally loved the audio & social features

jhax 2020-10-10 12:06

Absolutely love this game!

Music and graphics are both an absolute delight.

Concept is really cool too, and it's so well put together, congrats!

florianduf 2020-10-10 13:27

The game is very nice in different category : * The concept and introduction are nice and funny. * The interpreation of the theme is nice. I like this simple but efficient "puzzle" game. * The artworks and animations are very good. * The music fits perfectly the ambiance.

All in all, it gives a feeling of a well finished, complete and polished game.

I take fun to play. Congratulations ! :)

madnesssguschenka 2020-10-10 13:56

So positive and joyful game! Really adore it. Must be the warmest work on the jam 😻

angela-he 2020-10-10 18:55

Cute and funny :) I loved the different poses, they were all so humorous!

doot 2020-10-10 22:14

Wow this one is incredible.

The idea behind the core mechanic is fantastic, and so well executed. It is really funny, and not as easy as it could seem at first. The music and sounds are fantastic too.

I really dislike this graphic style (personal tastes) and yet I really enjoyed the game, one of my favorite for this jam.

Great job, and thanks for the game 💕

itsdanidre 2020-10-11 00:07

Really fun bopping to the musics!

Hope someone sees my dances.

P.S., The *Free* and *Party* buttons are disabled on my screen.

no-grapes-games 2020-10-11 02:34

Never played a game like this before. It is very innovative. The story goes well with the gameplay. I like how the player will have to rely on memory to figure out the patterns. The art is really good too. Nice work!

savvy-community 2020-10-11 09:49

@harrm @jamesor @jd557 @interstateeight @roboshamit @larsdahl @jhax @florianduf @angela-he @no-grapes-games thank you guys so much, it's so heartwarming to your nice words about the game :). We really enjoyed making it too!

@moski thank you very much! Oh you appear to have found Mika... Well, it's complicated... Mika's not really the name of a player, nor are they an A.I. per se... Something in between the two.. Some of us were really surprised to encounter them while testing the game... They're something rather unique!

@fragileannihilator thank you so much  during the past 18 months we made jam games in limited time to improve our game-making skills, methodology, and try fun concepts and innovative game mechanics. As an experience jammer yourself, you must agree that there's no savvier way to gain some precious XP! The plan is now to try and make "real" games in a limited but longer time!

@madnesssguschenka Thank you so much! We always spend a third of the total time just talking about the concept and what we want to do *this time* ^^. We always take good care to make games that feel good!

@doot many thanks! Stuck in a Soup Loop is on our list of games to play :)!

@itsdanidre someone will for sure! What's your in-game pseudo? The 2 buttons are enabled once you finish the introduction! Thank you :)

@all we really like the vibe in your messages, and we'd like to stay in touch with you guys FOREVER. Since we plan on making bigger games in a near future, we will definitely need your savvy feedback... So please consider following us on twitter (https://twitter.com/savvy_community) or itch.io(https://savvy-community.itch.io/). much love :heart_eyes_cat: Cheers!

moski 2020-10-11 14:27

@savvy-community Thanks for the comment. Still tho, now I'm super curious, since I remember not encountering anyone *but* Mikas in that playthrough. I thought at a point that the game just glitched, or that someone called Mika submitted a ton of those.

itsdanidre 2020-10-12 02:05

@savvy-community my in-game pseudo is "Danidre"

Once I finish the introduction? Is there an end? Every time I finish it seemingly, it carried me back to the option of choosing my own dance moves, and then I had to choose between AI and human again, then another set of dance moves, then choose between AI and human again over and over. I thought that was the loop, as I kept making new moves, I thought that was it

I wonder if that was maybe a bug, I'll definitely have to play over the game some time.

forgeronstudio 2020-10-14 18:30

Amazing game. Really fun, unique idea, and well executed. Great job!

mateusboga 2020-10-14 22:26

Fun idea and great implementation! I love the graphics and the database system. No complaints. Great job!

savvy-community 2020-10-15 13:23

@forgeronstudio , @mateusboga thank you so much, it means a lot to us to read such positive feedback! Gonna play your games as well! :D

sn4pi 2020-10-15 13:43

I love this game and find it really pleasant to play - beeing a dance teacher myself  Nice job! The music was lit, there was a big variety of dance moves and the idea of finding the humanoid dancers was superb.

Only downside I could think of is: - There was no unique interpretation of the theme, instead you took the theme literally. - The white font had no good contrast with the light blue background which made it hard to read the instructions. But that was a minor issue in my opinion.

Nice entry!

f1krazy 2020-10-15 13:57

Great game, and a fantastic interpretation of the theme. It's not often you see multiplayer games in Ludum Dare! It's a bit of a pain having to create a new dancer every round, but I'm guessing the reasoning behind it is that if you keep getting matched with the same people, and they always have the same appearance and dance moves, it would make it way too easy to spot them.

I really loved the ambiance, and the way the music evolved as you found more and more of your human friends. I look forward to seeing more from you guys!

omarmobadr 2020-10-15 17:43

great job, the animations are great and combined with a beautiful soundtrack

harksa 2020-10-15 18:49

It is such a cute game. I love it, and I wasn't expecting the music to be actually that good ! Nice job really !

trexxak 2020-10-15 22:37

Super fun idea :D

The gameplay is nice and all, but I had way more fun to come up with my own dance! Artstyle is cute yet cheeky (literally), which I like too!

killerkun 2020-10-16 07:53

great concept, it really does start to get hard by the latter loops. Overall an interesting experience, the art and music were very polished which I enjoyed a lot. Great job!

arbex 2020-10-17 16:35

It is such a cute game. The gameplay is nice.

meatball 2020-10-18 00:10

That bass is toit! A little confusing but that's how I feel about all clubs. Great job all around!

jenny-bourke 2020-10-18 00:13

Super cute very fun n.n

dcrdro 2020-10-18 09:24

Wow, cute game ;D

Amazing animations, music and mood general!

dani-tufeld 2020-10-18 20:42

So much fun!!! just enjoyed seeing them all dance, great idea and grat execution!!!

sli 2020-10-18 20:45

Pretty fun. The mood and feel is great. Good job.

drjexter 2020-10-18 20:45

Well that was enjoyable! I think the only thing I really felt was missing was any sort of scoring/winning/losing system. The music was fun, and the graphics we just great!

ddrkirbyisq 2020-10-18 20:53

Great job guys! The gameplay is simple once you get the hang of it but still enjoyable despite it, so it really works!

I think my only request would be that IMHO the dance floor should include the player-character as well (unclickable), so that you can have an animated visual of the choreographed dance moves that you just came up with. Right now (if I understand correctly) you never actually get to see your own dance in action -- it's just sent to the server so that it can be shown to other people. Which is cool, but I think there would be more of an incentive and "reward" for people to put in effort if they are able to view it themselves. On the later levels I found myself just leaving the dance at random because I knew it wouldn't really affect my own experience, but I feel like with this change I would be motivated to put in my own custom dance moves since getting to see them in action would be really fun :)

garys 2020-10-18 21:40

Fun mechanic, great audio. I found it a little too easy tbh, but it was pretty fun nonetheless.

snowinn 2020-10-18 22:33

This has got to be one of the most creative submissions I’ve seen. It’s got good music and a good mood, cute characters, and a mechanic of finding the human submission that is looping against AI is really cool. I don’t have any suggestions to improve it, it’s awesome.

enad96 2020-10-19 07:39

Great idea, great execution.

savvy-community 2020-10-19 12:54

@sn4pi Thank you so much for your feedback, the contrast problem is indeed a bit annoying! 😅

@f1krazy Wow, thanks a lot, it's always nice to hear such positive feedback! Yeah we also think the 4 rounds of character creation are maybe a bit too much, resulting with seeing the same name over and over again ahah. However, we won't change this kind of thing/bug since the feedback we get will be helpful for a future game we will do :). Thank you again, and since you're interested in seeing our future projects, feel free to follow us on twitter ➡️ https://twitter.com/savvy_community . Cheers!

@omar-14 @harksa Thank you so much for your kind words :D

@trexxak Thank you :D maybe we will work on a mini standalone about this aspect (if we have some time ahah)

@killerkun @arbex That's so nice to hear, thank you so much!

@meatball Yeah right, we've all been there at some point ahah 😏

@jenny-bourke @dcrdro @dani-tufeld @sli @drjexter Thank you so much guyz!!

@ddrkirbyisq Oh thank you so much for your useful and precious feedback! That's actually a really good idea, as you say, it may be a bit frustrating to create your character 4 times and not see it right after its creation. You can actually see it but later in the game since its randomly generated. Thank you again :D

@garys @snowinn @enad96 Oh yeah, thank you so so much :D

**The whole team is really pleased to read such positive comments, thanks guyz and gurlz!** ❤️

Cheers from **savvy community**

delender1100 2020-10-20 14:05

This game is really fun! It is a little easy and the game does look a bit odd with the font and the art not going together too well. I love the idea of being able to send your own dance to other people and have them try to guess if it's a loop! Great use of the theme!

pluisjen 2020-10-20 16:27

Loved it! This is so cute and entertaining.

keibii 2020-10-21 03:58

Oh my gosh I loved all the dance move poses, very funny! Really enjoyed this game!!

flying-dog-fish 2020-10-21 18:42

Great game. And that's coming from someone who hates dancing. The dance moves are funny, the music is groovy and the core mechanic is stuck in a loop.

karenfarah 2020-10-21 20:52

Lovely idea! Found it really funny and addictive, the audio made it even better! I'd love to be able to see my choreography : ) really nice job!

codertrevor 2020-10-21 21:09

I loved this! It's simple but super innovative. The graphics, music, and mood are all perfect. It's one of those "I wish I thought of that" games. Awesome job!

savvy-community 2020-10-25 08:13

@delender1100 Thank you for your feedback! yeah, we are currently working on fixing bugs, UI and adding content :)

@pluisjen @keibii @flying-dog-fish @karenfarah @codertrevor Thank you so much to all of you!!

savvy-community 2020-12-08 09:41

Hey @itsdanidre we never answered you about 'Mika'! We had plans to make something huge out of them in the post-jam version but we didn't in the end... So let's explain what they are now! So first, as you know there are 2 types of npcs in the game: the looping human ones, and the random a.i ones. 'Mika' is a third kind of npc that is looping like a human... but their loop is randomly generated like an a.i! We realized afterwards that we let this 'fake-human generator' in the code in case the game wouldn't connect to the database in time for some reason! Mika is an a.i imitating humans in the game, but except for their name, it's impossible (and useless) to consider them other than human! We liked this plot twist a lot and thought of ways to make them part of our gameplay or scenario but had no time to do so in the end...
