First off, definitely the most visually stunning game I've played so far. It surprises me to no end that people can churn out visuals like these is so little time
Interaction design is really good too, such as highlighting the "R" for reload. Only nitpick I have in that regard is that I wish the containers had some sort of indicator that they refueled your ammo, since the number in the bottom just sort of goes up with no other cue.
Gameplay is neat, I didn't expect mouse-based shooting in a game like this (which is probably for the better since shooting off the lumps with a keyboard would probably be REALLY difficult).
Do you plan on pursuing this game further? The ending definitely makes it feel that way.

@jjjjason thanks for the feedback :) Well..we already thinking about finishing it untill new year mb. It will be very instensive dev cycle for us as we already have a project in work. But we see potential in this stuff too XD Didn't add all the features I wanted though. Next Ludum Dare we will try to focus on a smaller idea anyway

Super polished game with great visuals and atmosphere! I did have a bit of a hard time aiming and I felt it was a bit too short (I wanted to play more! Which is a great sign).
I did not, however, feel a great connection with the theme.
It's a great, great work anyhow. Amazing what was done in such a short timespan

Wow, definitely a beautiful game. I would love to see more, or see this as a full game.

I wanted to connect it in way you got infected and the more you explore the worse stuff happens to your character. But It was too way complex for 3 days
I hope I'll see this project as a complete game. Good luck on LD and have fun :v:
Dammmmmm... I saw many of your posts early on and already was intrigued. seeing the final product now just looks amazing. I love your graphics style and the sense of ominousness. The only other thing I could have asked more for was a longer story. Great Job!

Visually, one of the best I've played so far. The theme you establish is fantastic right from the start, though I'm not sure if I'm really feeling the connection with the theme.
Either way though, I understand you must've run out of time, but this is absolutely brilliant for such a short timeframe. Love the title and the simple, yet fun and polished mechanics. Will be coming back to finish this one for sure. Great work!

Wow the visuals and feel are on point! As someone who's attempted a 2D deadspace-like game in the past (with little success to show for it) color me impressed with the ability to convey such an intense emotional register with such limited time/resources! Would love to see more in the future!

Absolutely stunned by graphics... this for couple of days... Amazing game with amazing graphics and cool gameplay (want to play a little more tho, but game is kinda short). Definitely want to see full standalone version of this game. Goodluck!

The art is really, really good. However the controls and gameplay don't hold up for me. There is a tension created by the limited ammo and the difficulty in hitting the right spots on the enemies, but movement feels clunky and advancing through the game is slow. It does look really, really good, and has some great UI polish.

@botreats ye, controls is something u can polish forever. I'll redesign it for sure !

I kind of want more of it. The weakpoint mechanic works really well in 2D, forcing you to keep your aim steady. I think the game has a lot of potential as 2D Dead Space and I want that.
Fantastic art design! The game itself is pretty hard though, at least for me XD. I could see this turning into a full fledged game though. Not too sure about the theme relation but still some great work!

Very good looking game and good sound design. One thing that I would suggest is allowing skipping / speeding up of cutscenes and screen transitions as the tedium can make the gameplay seem dull. Nice game!
Awsome game hard to fight to start with but once i got it felt like a dark souls, scfi game

Great Visuals and Ambience! But is too short. Looks more like a demo.
well, that's a nice start. steam waits for you. but you realy should think a little about control, it's a weak point right now i think.

Wow, very visually impressive and moody, and I love the intense, sparring combat. I would prefer to restart somewhat after the introductory scene when I die though.

Visuals and mood are superb. Solid five stars here, top work, good job. Nice work with posteffects, too. Handling and shooting feels good, but I'm not sure low ammo/high error cost works well here, just because monsters are very fast. Perhaps, reloading to full extent at the ammo stations would make things a bit better?
Also, not sure if bug, but enemies often spawn on my head, killing me instantly when I enter the room.

@a333 ye, didn't have enough time to make proper game balance. I've made monsters in the last few hours before submission XD

Stunning game, may I ask how did you do the glow effect ? It's rare that a pixel art game manages to blend effects like these so well. Congrats guys.
pixeye
2017-12-05 16:34
@pandanym you need somehow add bloom effect to your camera view. Than in any shader you use make sure having HDR colors and multiply the emission to some high numbers like color.red * 20
Great looking game, as other have stated a bit hard to get used to shooting. Love the doom key cards :) Great job!
Wow, that was VERY short. I admire your art - it is absolutely stunning. Combined with ambience, sfx and effects, it creates really immersive game. A few things I would've tweaked - some kind of text when you loot the shelves - I only realized that I was getting ammo out of there at the end of the game; a pause in the whole game after going to another room instead of just frozen character - currently enemies are attacking you as soon as they see you, but you are frozen for 0.5-1 seconds after entering the room.
Overall - you made a really cool, but short game.
Really polished game. I was suprised art could get this good in a jam, best ive seen so far.
Only issue i have is that the ludum theme was not implemented, but id definetly pay for a full game like this one, reminds me of gba metroid.
Congratulations to the team!

Great visual choices, the pixel art is very beautiful, maybe a bit dark but I understand the choice for the sake of ambiance. Congratulations for the game.
Ótimas escolhas visuais, o pixel art está muito bonito, talvez um pouco escuro mas entendo a escolha por uma questão de ambientação. Parabéns pelo jogo.

Definitely the start of something great. Really loved the survival elements. Having to shoot the weak points in addition to the limited ammo really works well together with the survival horror setting. Not to mention it looks great! The pixel art mixed with the glow and particle effects are quite the sight.
Criminal it's so short! I thought the web version might be bugged and skipped areas, but it seems it ends right after the red key-card door. Honestly, my only complaints are how short it is and not really fitting the theme. The monsters spawning right at the door and killing you also wasn't great.
I can't wait to see what it becomes if you do continue working on it!
Pure eye candy, this game looks gorgeous, I need to know, how did you guys made the neon lights in pixel? it looks fantastic, the dead space sequel we trully deserved
LOVED the vibe coming out of that game! The ambiance, the sounds, the UI. the art, everything just feels amazing for a jam game, would love to see more work put into it. Controls fell a bit off at first but, Definitely one of my favorite LD entries so far!

Man... the art, atmosphere, and sound that's in is amazing. The beginnings of a great game are here. As it stands, I'm not sure how it fits the theme though.

The mood is so on pint in this. wished fore some more sounds(steps, rolling etc) I find it is just a little bit too easy to win. I just walked to the key without killing someone and back and it was not any struggle.

Lot of work here but with such a little game play to test it. Really good mood because of the graphics and music. Aiming is a little frustrating mainly when the monsters turn around without any animation, so their lumps just teleport somewhere else, feels like a bullet wasted for nothing. Great job! I heard you are still working on the game, looking forward to see what will come out from this.

Visually, the game is great. But such a small amount of content and lack of sound cues make it hard to judge right now. I also really like the setting (Inspiration by Dead Space is obvious, I'm pretty sure even the name of the game is a reference to it) and the mood that you've managed to set in such a short amount of time. Basically, this will probably be a great game after the jam ends, but right now it's not that interesting.

The mood is really awesome. Got this Dead space feeling all the way. As some others said, aiming was a bit difficult, but I totally get what led you to this choice. It's one of the strongest entries I saw yet, with a solid realisation and a surprising yet great gameplay. Theme relation is the only thing that I felt a bit under the rest.
Good job!!

It looks amazing, but sound and gameplay wise I feel it's lacking, and wasn't entertaining me to much. Like the guy above mentioned, I think this game will be great after the competition, but for now it has little to offer apart from it's awesome style :)

My favorite until now! I would like even more if was platform! Something like Flashback.
Wow! Visuals, audio and the mood are amazing! Movement is fast and smooth.. I could use some checkpoints before monster screens - getting throught waking up, getting up clothes and skipping dialogs every time i get killed is a little bit frustrating. It's connected with controls (if controls were more ergonomic I will not die so often). But it's probably because I'm playing on my macbook with touchpad.. All in all it's a one of the best entries I've seen here!

The graphics are awesome! I couldn't really play much though, because I felt I was fighting the controls more than the actual enemies. Enemies often pushed me out of the screen, they damaged me without much visual indication - making me die suddenly -, the roll was a bit jumpy at times... All relatively small things that could do with a polish, but all of it added up to me not playing much...
Great game, tonnes of atmosphere and great graphics. Could use some polish on the controls, mabe make the shots less pixel perfect. Also a fan of dead space 1 and can see the influences being translated well to this game.
Promising, but not much of a game. You are clearly a skilled duo, so remove the references to big games that will get you cease and desist orders and make this into a great game! Good luck.

Nice entry! :D Love the graphics and all the effects, like the appearance it has of an old screen, pretty neat! And I like the shooting mechanic as well! Too bad there wasn't too much of the theme in the gameplay, but the idea you described about the virus seems pretty nice, could have been cool to see a bit of it with a bit more of the story too ;) Just one thing I thought that was missing, was the lack of the feedback for the player when either the magazine of the weapon was empty or when the player was hit (a bit of screenshake and VFX for that would have been nice) :) Congrats on the entry! :)
Fantastic artwork, I love the shooting lumps idea, very satisfying.
I am a sucker for the ambience pretty nice visuals. Struggled a bit with the controls though and it also took me a few to notice that you have to strike the monsters in their glowing orbs, which gets a bit difficult with the aim shaking. Nice that you are tuning it up post jam because it really feels good, congratulations

@binaryunit, thanks! :) Ye, we will update games soon with some fixes and improvements.
Seems like the shooting controls were broken for me. I wasn't able to shoot. That said I still beat the game! I loved the graphics and the ambience was great (though it could have used sound effects). Good job!

Really nice graphics and mood. The audio and music helped add to the mood and polish. Feels like a professionally made game!
Everything about this was crazy polished. Congrats on the talent dude. Loved the dead space atmosphere.
Short game but extremely polished and left me wanting to play more. Really enjoyed the gameplay and the graphics were some of the best I've seen this ludum dare. The atmosphere was also nicely done and the lumps was an interesting way to deal with the monsters.
Beautiful game with a CRT shader which increases quality. Classic gameplay, but good enough. Mood is great. You did a fantastic work in less than 72 hours. Well done ++
