@potatuetata I'm really sorry, I'm still a beginner (: It should be fixed now, can you play it?
@game-mon now i can play it. My highscore is 15 objects. it was fun and i really liked the idea of picking a object that doesnt have value to him. So you had to look what objects doesnt have value to him and sacrifice them first, then sacrifice other objects which is isnt too mad about getting thrown away
@potatuetata Cool, thank you <3
I really liked it
Great use of the theme! Love the commentary as well as you chuck things out. Great job.
@paperjack @arkiruthis Thanks a lot for your feedback! Glad you liked it. I'll play your games.
I had fun trying to guess what would be what, and seeing Archibald Snobbish sad ! Good use of the theme, it's a nice little game Still have the music stuck in my mind though x)
@garymarance Thank you so much for your comment! The music is stuck in my mind as well haha (: I'll play your game
Damn, I died in the end! I thought glasses were personal item, not tool :-) Nice and polished game!
I had to throw this guy's teddy bear ! YOU ARE A MONSTER ! YOU MADE ME DO IT ! very cool graphics and idea.
This was really great. I loved the throwbacks to previous LD themes! You had a unique take on the theme and it worked well. Nice work!
Great game! Kept me and my friend entertained for a while. It was exhilarating to choose between options towards the end. When I threw away his watch, my heart broke a little inside
@sargonius Yeah, this is supposed to be tricky x) Thanks for the review!
Solid entry! Not going to lie, I tried to drop Archibald off the balloon toward the end. Not your intended solution, it would seem.
Graphics and music were minimalistic, but got the job done.
@marcellus You are the monster? reminds me of something haha... Thanks for the compliments <3
@jharler Thanks, glad you noticed this little joke (:
@william-derksen Cool, I'm actually surprised that you've played it for a while haha. Since all playthroughs look a bit alike, I was afraid it quicky gets boring... Anyway thank you for the feedback! :D
@jeremy-ryan How could you do such a thing ?! We all love Archibald! (don't you?) In fact, it was an idea that I've thought of, but it was complicated, because you accidently grabbed Archibald while trying to grab an object in front of him, so it got annoying haha x) Thanks for the feedback!
That's a really great idea for this theme, I love the style and graphics and how Archibald starts crying when you throw something with emotional value to him. The music is really cheerful and fun.
@kaeveris Thanks a lot! I'm glad you liked the music, because it's not supposed to be my main strength at all x) I just played around in Bosca Ceoil for an hour (:
20 objects thrown! Very fun to play for a while. I tried to trown the hat when I realized you could not pick him...
I really like the concept and the commentary when you trow a stuff. I have nothing else to say the game great !
@cabrita @nakami Thank you so much to both of you for your feedback! <3
Funny game! I love the simple but funny graphics, and the background music. And nice selection of things to throw out - i love to watch my picasso paintings during a balloon journey xD
I liked the execution of the idea a lot ! Very funny gameplay, i also liked music and graphics. Good job !
I hate Archibald, because he is the biggest nostalgic asshole I've ever seen. I like your game tho :) Graphics are cute, and it fits theme nicely. Gameplay idea is fun too.
Its a fun little game :). Music was very nice.
18 objects! Really nice game. :) I enjoyed the cute graphics (especially the trees in the background!) and the gameplay was nice and fun as well. Great entry!
@rontz @berkin @kszaku @zinarch @apace Thanks everyone for the feedback, it's helping me a lot :D Glad to know that some of you like the graphics and music <3
@kszaku Oh, do you really hate Archibald? I actually think he's kind, haha (: All he wants is love... (and a Picasso painting)
This was interesting, my high score was 18. The game wasn't super clear right away, but with it's cool and calm mood it was no trouble figuring it out. Love the bouncing trees btw.
@relictooth Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad you liked my game, I'll make sure to check out yours
Everything is so bouncy! That bassline sound is so 16-bit Sega too - love it. "A really basic apple" made me lol (how can an apple be basic?!). Even a custom app icon! All very nice stuff. Feels like a complete game! Highly rated!
My only gripe is that the objects are all very small in relation to everything else e.g. the balloon and health UI - it took a bit of focusing to play and my eyes felt a bit of strain afterwards. (I was playing fullscreen.) A few small adjustments and it's golden. Great work!
@gwinnell I totally agree with the size problem of the game. It's the kind of issue I don't have time to fix in 48h unfortunately ): Anyway thanks for the review! (: (oh and the icon took me 2 minutes to make, it's just Archibald's hat haha)
I scored 19 items. I enjoyed the nods back to some of the previous LD Themes in the intro  The music was really good. This was a great entry, the idea was simple and works so well for a 48hour game jam. Well Done!
Nice and simple game!! Really enjoyed playing it !! Cool artwork and animations !!! Great work !!!
@kunonooni @sashbros Thanks a lot for all this positive feedback! <3
Great work guys! Hope you get good ratings!
Games are you recommended is very good
15 items ! I thought I did pretty good but everyone here had a better score ! The game seemed fair, so well done ! Solid entry, thanks for your game !
Cool little game. 13 items.
Lovely little game with very cute graphics and a cool music :) ! I really appreciated the small details like being able to customize your character's color, the soft lights streaming from the top left corner of the screen and the way the trees moved around ! The gameplay was a wee bit confusing and I had trouble throwing things away at times, but other than that this is a solid game jam entry :) Keep it up !
@morriss @pandanym @craftlord Thank you for the reviews! <3
@noa-calice Thank you so much for playing my game! Glad you noticed some details (inspired by your videos btw) and yeah, I'm aware there are some issues I couldn't fix on time... Hopefully I can improve myself on my 2nd jam. Anyway thanks for the feedback! :D
This is a simple and fun little game. Both the music and graphics was good, but the music loop was a bit short. The story/introduction was good, but it was also a bit long. Overall a good LD game. Well done.
Graphics is cute with really wavy trees:) Also like Archibalds comments when I throw out one of his item. Nice entry.
It took an interesting turn when I realized that the "clouds" had an influence on the game. Otherwise it was a cool experience with an interesting interpretation of the theme! Maybe the text could be a bit bigger so we can see it more clearly.
Do you have an HTML build?
@jk5000 @jiri-hysek @raisethedead Thank you so much for all this constructive criticism! Really appreciated (: @akusan I don't have an html build because gamejolt and unity web don't seem to be working properly together...
Here's hoping that wasn't a shiny.

This was a rather interesting puzzle of priorities, with a simple yet snappy sense of humor and some sort of logical explanation to each decision. While some aspects of the gameplay were a bit confusing to begin with, at the second round, I caught on the mechanics, and it became quite a fun experience. For something done in 48 hours, this is rather impressive.
Since this game was to the point and works as a short experience, I don't really think of anything to add to make it better. But if you do expand it, you can add some polish, like timers. Those could have been useful.
Anyhow, great job. [My team](discord.whalesandgames.com) sends you salutations and hope to see more projects like this in the coming jams. All round, this was a memorable experience. Cheers! :whale:
I really enjoyed the theme and the graphics of the game. Everything is so bouncy and colorful! The music sounds cool but to me, after a while, it became a bit repetitive. Maybe also because I played the game several times. Your main character looks really cute, especially when he's crying. Overall a great game which was fun and fits the theme very well.
yes, a very funny entry. There are a lot of interactions : you did a great job
@moski Glad you noticed this joke (: Thanks a lot! Can't believe some people really like the game from my 1st ludum dare haha x) I agree some polishing could be made, but I'm not planning to expand the project
@shito Yeah I totally agree, the music is way too repetitive haha x) Thank you so much for the feedback!
It looks really good and it's fun !
There is one thing I'm not a fan of tho is that you can't do anything when you don't have to throw something away. I feel like it breaks the flow of the game, you are playing and then you have to stop playing, and then play again. I think being able to move items around and prepare an item to throw would feel way better.
@yorsh I added this feature to prevent the player from throwing everything away in 3 seconds, to enjoy the journey; but yeah, I'm aware it can become quite frustrating. The kind of issue I didn't know how to fix in 48h x) Thank you so much for the feedback! It's really useful (:
The concept fits the theme and the cartoonish art style is also solid. I think your game would really benefit from some sound effects and a bit more polish. Great job, enjoyable game!
I really liked how trippy the style and music was. The puzzle elemnts werer fun and i liked how you indicated the value of every item. Good overall job!
@lukbebalduke Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, I agree it definitely needs more polish (: Glad you like it @tekses Cool, thanks for the feedback :D
Great use of the theme and the art was amazing. Good work!
Cool idea! Took me a while to realize that you can only throw 1 thing per "turn". Loved the trees! Good use of theme.
The scrolling was a nice effect. I really enjoyed your music and the bubbles moving with the beat. The text was cut off in full screen mode but not by much. All and all cool unique game :D
A nice idea, that works very well! The music suited the game perfectly, and overall, the mood was great! I think you missed out on a prime opportunity though; you should have been able to throw out achibald! Very nice game, with a decent amount of polish and a very unique art style. The game didn't last very long, because it seemed to always be the same items. Maybe if there was a variety of items that could spawn, the game experience could last a bit longer? Otherwise and awesome creation, keep developing!
Fun game, with appealing visuals and sounds and a surprisingly complex item category system. Very cool idea. The whole balloon thing didn't seem to matter much, as the game was more just throw away an item every so often, but it provide a narrative frame for why you were doing it, I guess. Very nice work on this, and good luck in the competition.
Nice entry! I think the mechanism needs to be more polished. I don't know I have to wait for the balloon falling before I can throw away something. I made me feel the game stop at the moment. Add hint or make it obvious may solve this misunderstanding.
Great entry. I like how he asks you for help, but then makes you feel guilty for throwing pretty much anything away. :)
Hey there! First of all, congratulations on the entry! Compo is crazy and completing it is a big achievement, at least on my book.
Ok, let's get to what I liked the most - I liked the idea itself. Tossing things away, hoping Archibald doesn't mind that much about the pokeball you just sacrificed (hopefully it was empty!). - The description lines were well put out and were ambiguous enough to remain interesting for the whole playthrough. - I like the way you showed 'our health points'. It's simple to implement, it's easy to understand as a player and it is uncommon! I just wouldn't refer to them as clouds on the tutorial, I think it should be Icons.
Biggest problems for me: - It gets repetitive quite quickly (most games do, anyway!); - I started enjoying the music, but 15 seconds after I was tired of it already lol; - When I played, I though there was an end to the game, maybe this is what made it feel more repetitive. I wanted to get to the end of it because I was hoping for some conclusion. I made it to 19 items. - The animations of the trees... they kinda made me a bit dizzy!
Congrats again!
Simple and overall very nice little game, i like it :)
Nice game. Just realized it was compo too. Wow.
I love the graphics! The music got a bit repetative but it fit the whimsical feel of the game well. Good job! I hate to ask here, but we are nearing the end of the play+rate time so: could you perhaps spare a few minutes and try out my game too? https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/colony
Cool game! I like how part of the challenge is figuring out which items could belong to which category and which are useless. The art is simple but it works, and the music is pretty nice. The only thing that confused me was that items can only be thrown away when the balloon starts lowering, at first I thought only certain items could be thrown away. Great work
