Wow, that is a crazy polished game, well done
I had a lot of fun clicking on all the buttons and felt like a hacker from a cheesy 80's movie. Nice Cluedo-like game, the interface is simple yet efficient and clear. I maybe wished there were enough space in the main page to see the all sentence, just to make it easier to change. I'm a little less fond of the character design, but giving it a voice is a nice touch ! Replayability is a really good point also. Nice game overall !
I had a nice time with this game. The concept is very interesting. I actually won and saved the world! I don't know what to say more, I liked it
Really good entry team. A bit confused at start (still don't know how decript message but click randomly and seems to work) but very nice job. Also graphics sound and music are amazing keep it up team !
The polish in this is pretty amazing really. Music is extremely good, and the graphics are top notch!
For some minor gripes, the four submission elements could maybe be separated to their own fields for easier writing, at least that's one way of alleviating the problem of not seeing the full entered sentence.
All in all, spectacular work. Very well done!
Amazing game, great art and audio, amazing voice acting, loved it so much watching Elysia play it live, great job!
I love how well made / polished this game is! Great work!
I've fun playing this game cracking the codes. Reminds me of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego. Good work!
The overall was nice to play, feeling like you're solving some kind of big enigma (loved the small touches of humor) but I didn't find it that hard or challenging, since there is no time limit or specific actions/sequences to do to decode the messages. Maybe adding a limited time would add some spice to the game ! Still, good job to you all ^^
I did it, I saved all of mankind!
Game is fun to play and really complete. There is a good variety of weapons and suspects, their mugshot give them a personality well. The voice of the character suits its design. Music paired to decoding animation and sounds make you feel like you're on an important quest while investigating. It's a great game idea with a modern vision!
Nice thing you added the button to skip intro in the updated version of the game, it's faster when we want to play again.
Also, I have been visited by the letter fairy! I must forward this message to 3 other people and I will receive mildly good luck for the next 3 years
Thanks for the game :) I've never thought it is possible to make setup of a twitch game this easy, good job guys! As for game itself I love it. Love the voice acting by @elysiagriffin. Love how the game makes me think. How clear the objective and how funny some memos are. Wish you the best of luck! P.S. Thank you for streaming the rating process on Twitch, so much fun :) P.S. #2 I don't know but now I want to play some really deep game about cryptography or at least take a course on Coursera :)
Really impressive entry, the UI looks great and is easy to navigate. I had fun trying to decode the different messages ! The voice acting is great and something you almost never see in a ludum dare entry, so kudos for that. Thank you for this entry :)
Lovely game you got there, I was hooked really into the mood! The music gives you a really nice set up and the decoding reminded me of Talos principles computer ahah! The detective part was really interesting and it was very interesting to play it. I love the interaction with the character when you make a mistake! and all the drawings and ressources you putted into the game. I like the fact that it doesn't feel really redundant to decipher a code because it's like a little game and when you actually decipher the message it's just like a kinder surprise, you don't know on what you would fall down! :D Just for some feedback, sometimes the mouse wheel maybe doesn't respond properly in the memos section. Very well done for this entry!
Excellent game, very well polished. Great music and voiceover!
Very interesting concept ! I love the visuals and the voice acting...Per usual one of the games that stand out most AND are integrated in a beautiful community. I hope I'll see you make mugcakes again soon ! :D Cheers !
Frick you! with mayo sergent in quebec... I am out of here!
This game accomplishes so much with the clues, it should thrive so much in a community environment. The artwork, sound, voice over and music is very spot on. Lovely project all around!
Pretty cool!
Very good! Music is very well done!
The music is super loud, and the voice acting was comparably quiet. Is there a way to turn down the music separately, or have subtitles? That's probably fixed in the post-jam version. The decoding/cryptography part of the game feels underdeveloped. Worst case it's just clicking on decryption methods until one works. Great presentation of course.
Wow, what a polished game! The music is phenomenal and does a lot for the mood. Nice voice acting as well. :) The art is very nice, although I was surprised about the combination of a smooth futuristic girl with the retro tablet.
I found that the decyphering part of the clues by clicking on the buttons was not that much fun to me, but perhaps that was intentional, so that the player tries to solve it with a smaller number of clues. But sometimes I only still needed a clue with a date and finding one could take quite long (or I missed something). ;) I did figure out that for certain types of code I needed a particular color to decode it, which made it a bit faster.
Very clever that the puzzels have ids so that players can puzzle together. Overall, great job!
Interesting game! Of course the audio is great, graphics were nice too, I liked the icons for the suspects and weapons. I wish there was a way of selecting suspects and weapons, or highlighting pieces of text, rather than relying on my memory and typing skills to match exactly what was decoded. I couldn't tell if the notes from mom were a red herring or I didn't decode the messages entirely the correct way. Good Game
Excellent voice acting! The music was cool too! Kinda hard at the beginning to understand what to do! But I knida like it :D Congrats!
Very cool and polished result! I love the ideas for the twitch integration
Wow, this is incredible!
Not only the quality of it is through the roof for a jam game, but this game have so many good ideas that would make it a wonderful detective game nevermind the time it took to make. This is so good, plus the twitch integration and the replayability...
Thank you for this game, you are a really great team!
Congratulations to your team for designing a UI-based game that is so fun! The clues were good and not too difficult to solve. I have to admit that I didn't really understand the mechanism behind the "puzzle" box, it seemed like I was putting in the random seed for how the game was selecting codes. Was that meant to be part of the gameplay? I also should mention that I found it quicker to use external tools to decrypt the messages than pressing the code buttons - were there supposed to be any clues as to which letter to press? I was usually able to recognize how messages were encoded at a glance, but it felt like translating that in to button presses had to be a matter of trying random ones.
Great job on the art, and absolutely outstanding music.
Amazing game, I could not solve the case, but will keep trying, the mechanics are really fun and the idea of deciphering messages to build the narrative is very interesting. Music and voice acting are fine as well as graphics
Wow, incredibly polished - you even have voice acting! I liked the idea of decrypting clues to solve each part of the mystery, it was fun to puzzle through it. It would have been fun if the decryption required a bit more thought, instead of just having to find the right button for each clue, but it's already really well done for a jam game. Another suggestion would be to require multiple clues to narrow down the suspect and weapon, and an incentive to figure out the answer from some of the less direct clues.
Overall really well done, great game!
First of all, I played the JAM original version because appears to me as a more fair to the other submits - JAM wise. So I am speaking refering to that version!
I had difficulties figuring out the game main mechanic... it is all about pressing the right button in the right memo? If yes, the overall difficulty was the player to decipher the plain info that you get from all the memos. If this was intended, it is a very well made logic puzzle with a well polished interface and art. :)
My only technical problem was in the beggining: the music was blasting and I only grasp partially the initial dub - but what I heard, seems like a well done work
Great job! Congrats!
This is professional for a jam, the voice of the narrator and the effects is great, excellent game!
First off, I like the art in general and the interface in particular - looks great! The music, sounds and especially the voice over were fantastic.
My main criticism would be that the decryption process is extremely repetitive and doesn't require much thought after you figured out that you just press random buttons (in the right category, once you learn to identify that) until you hit the right one. And I mean, half of the game is doing that over and over. I am not sure how I'd improve that, to be honest. We probably all agree that just giving all clues directly to the player wouldn't be good either, but lots of repetitive busywork (even if it looks and sound beautiful) doesn't exactly make me look forward to play the game again. Which is a shame, because having it procedurally generated is really cool and creates a lot of replayability!
That being said, I did enjoy playing the game. Great job!
