It's a fun little game, I could see it being a hit on the mobile marked xD
A nice little story, I didn't get bored with it, and the pacing was set out nicely
It's short but shows potential
It was a little too hard for its own good, and there wasn't anything that really encouraged you to keep playing, but it was a good effort, I hope you do well
It's adorable! We need a puzzle game of this!
Seems like a great concept, I could see this being a fun game for people to increase typing speed, it was also rather fun too
Great game, but it is some times easy to mistake the character staying in the void for dying when a goblin attacks you, but it was a great game, especially for 48 hours!
Overall a pretty fun game, I feel it was kinda lacking in the sounds department however this was definitely worth my time, keep up the good work!
@Team Ex-Sword-Stential thanks for putting in some time to review this entry, sorry about the music, 5 minutes just isn't enough time to create a good soundtrack xD
seems like an okay concept :)
I'd love this as a mobile game
Very simple yet very fun!
A brilliant Ludum Dare entry, I believe you may actually get into the top 100!
An enjoyable throwback to the retro arcade
An excellent game.
I would've liked a few more options with what I could do but I understand that would be a little hard in the time you had.
I also managed to find a bug where I just got unlimited supplies, not quite sure how to replicate I'm afraid.
But overall a great entry, I loved the music and it truly does make you feel like "the monster," good job!
Visually stunning, combat is fluent and idea is simple but well executed.
Another great Ludum Dare entry from HeartBeast!
An adorable narrative game with a lot of nice touches.
Keep up the good work!
Very frustrating xD
It's a fun little puzzle game, the music suits it well, and the graphics are nice. Good job!
Quite a fun little game, but you really need to manage the sounds, it starts to hurt my poor ears ;-;
Pretty cool little game, would've liked a different tone on the gun, it started to hurt my ears xD
A brilliant and fun game, you defiantly deserve top 100!
Nice game with a good throwback to retro arcades, well done!
A funny little game, good job with it too!
Hilarious rage inducing fun, although I would argue that it gets a bit repetitive if you're just stuck on the first level xD
Also congratulations, Jacksepticeye (with almost 8 million subscribers) did a video dedicated to this
Thank you all for your feedback!
@acaral @dzmitry-pukhouski Actually that's intended as it was the last level I managed to get done before running out of time. I've only now just realised that the version I published still has a glitch where the text messages only appear once, which I did fix before publishing but I got the files mixed up. There was supposed to be a message in that room to explain the sudden end. Whoops.
Really well done! I've seen a few games doing the "sacrifice your mechanics" thing but you managed to make it unique and well thought out. The difficulty was fairly well done, I finished right as I started to run out of things to sacrifice. I do think the primary weapon could've been a bit more powerful, I often found myself just trying to speed through certain sections. It would be nice if the barrel rotated a little faster as well. All in all this game was great!
Incredible work on this one. It fits in with the theme perfectly, and really did make me feel sorry for what I was doing. It had a clever ending as well. In terms of art and music, it looks and sounds fantastic, and they both did a great job at conveying the mood. Overall you should all be proud of what you've accomplished.
If I had any suggestions on how to improve this, I'd say perhaps make the character move a little bit faster, and maybe make a bit more of the text skippable. As I imagine a lot of people will probably want to try out the different outcomes.
Little things aside, really well done.
Good job with this, this has a lot of potential if you choose to continue with it.
Definitely if you could juice up the game a bit, that'd be great. Perhaps making missiles indicate where they're about to fly from as well. It was a bit difficult to avoid them long enough to revive lost pixels.
Overall, nice work!
A really neat little game. I hope you do continue with it, there's a lot of potential here.
Good job on this one! I liked the chill yet mildly panicky nature of it. If you added a few more mechanics, and implemented some form of progression, I could see this being a really nice mobile game. It'd be interesting if you continued with this.
Really nice little game, it has enough polish that it feels like an actual gameplay section you'd find in a popular indie title. The art and characters are very charming to look at, and the sound design was great!
Also the letters spelling "**EAT**" as they fell was a fun detail.
Really great job with this! It's a huge challenge to make a game with this much gameplay time during a jam, but you managed to pull it off. The pacing was surprisingly good, searching for items gives your pumps time to accumulate money, and then you can see a noticeable boost in income once you spend it all. There wasn't any point I felt too bored, I enjoyed the whole thing.
Lovely music and art too, it gives the game a nice cozy atmosphere. You all did a fantastic job!
Really nicely made game! Love the aesthetic and mood, it feels very polished for a jam game. I think you could easily expand upon this in the future if you feel like doing so. The character designs are simple, yet have a ton of personality and life, I'm sure lots of people would love to see them in a full game.
Very unique and fun mechanics! I can really imagine this being a game you could get very skilled at. The music and sound effects were nicely done, and the simple art style works well and gives it a lot of charm.
Fun little game, definitely agree with others that it has the nostalgic feeling of those 2000s Flash games. Took me back to the old Neopets games. It took a few tries but once you get a hang of it and concentrate it's perfectly beatable.
Also the music slaps, this must be the jam part of "game jam".
I found this quite fun, and it's a great accomplisment for the compo! There were some times where despite charging up a full jump, it wasn't anywhere close to a full jump, which made certain jumps feel like you had to get lucky. But I enjoyed it regardless. I'd love to see what you can do with it going forwards.

Very fun game! There's a certain focus you need to have to balance all the tasks properly, if you start panicking at all things go downhill so fast. It's a neat game mechanic. Also feels extremely polished, the music, art, and game feel are done so well.
You all did a great job working together to pull this off during the jam. Well done!
Very nice art and music, it gives a lot character to the game. The minigame was fun, trying to work out a strategy for reliably dodging each attack pattern. Having checkpoints would help a lot for beating the game, but with how little time you get it's understandable how it can be hard to implement quality of life features.
Well done to everyone on the team!
Very charming game! Feels like a minigame you'd play in a Stardew Valley-esque game. Love how whimsical the music is, and the art is nice and pleasant to look at.
Fun game, the sound effects and movement make you really feel like a marble, there's a good bit of challenge to it. I can imagine speedruns of this would be interesting to watch.
Quite impressive you did this all solo. The flying feels fun and pretty satisfying, and the game has a nice distinct style to it. Post jam version has some nice additions too, would be quite interesting to have a fully fledged social game like this.
That was a fun game! The audio and graphics are very well done for a jam game, definitely something to be proud of. The puzzles were neat, it can be tricky to get a handle of the movement, especially when you need to make quick or precise movements, but it does make it satisfying to beat the levels.
Nice game! I always like coming across simple cozy games like this while rating. It gives a few minutes to just chill and enjoy some easy mechanics.
Quite a fun take on the theme, it's a neat use of the "optimal use of grid space" mechanic you get in games like Backpack Battles. Art was nice too. I think having a faster, more snappy transition whenever you enter a shop would have been good to keep up the pace, as it does feel a bit too slow. But overall I enjoyed it quite a bit. Well done!
Really fun game! It's a nice take on the Vampire Survivors type genre, the high speeds you move at makes dodging and weaving between enemies feel more intense, and it's interesting the implications of having the modules trailing behind you.
I did find it a bit hard to focus on a specific build, if you could find a way to give the player a little bit of influence over what upgrades options they get, I think that'd be a nice addition.
You did really well on the game overall, love getting to see what people manage with the extra format.
Great execution of your ideas here, makes for a fun game that doesn't get old at any point while playing. The dialogue was entertaining, it's a good way to keep interest up during the whole walk. Music was simple but chill, I think that's exactly what it needed to be. And the art and design of the map were very nice, which is quite important for how much focus there is on looking around.
I think more prominant visual feedback about how much money you got from a shot would be a nice addition, maybe even a real time rating about the quality of the shot, to make it more satisfying when you get actually good shots.
Definitely should be proud of what you pulled off. Well done to everyone in your team!
Love how polished this feels for a compo game. It's a pretty simple concept but executed really well. It has a distinct art style, and there's some nice little details, it adds up quick to give the game a quality feeling. I think you did a great job with it!
Pretty satisfying to play. The mechanics are simple but you made them work quite well. Nicely done!
Game has a lot of character to it, and it's some nice chill gameplay. Music's a real vibe too.
A nice cozy game, it has quite a charming mood, just relaxing and experimenting with different bird calls (though I wasn't very good at it lol). It would be a fun minigame as part of a larger cozy game.
Pretty fun game! You did a great job on the physics for something made from scratch for the jam. I appreciate seeing people making more technical ideas like this within such a short timeframe.
Nice game! Feels like something that would've fit quite well on one of the old retro handhelds.
Love the aesthetic and mood, it's quite pretty. You could make a very nice and relaxing game out of this kind of style.
That was very fun! Movement and aiming took a little while to get the hang of, but I ended up completing all levels and enjoyed it quite a bit. Love how polished you made it, really does a lot to add to the experience. The little bits of humour were nice too. You all did a great job!
I had a great time playing! The diving mechanic is great, makes dodging feel quite fun and intense. I like the art style quite a bit too, looks nice and you can tell what's going on pretty easily.
Well done to the whole team!
Music's so hype, it makes for some fun vibes. Gives that "race against the clock" feeling quite strongly.
Quite a nice, chill game, definitely one of the more unique entries I've played from this jam. Great job!
Clever idea for a game! Being able to tell the other bots to emit their own signals is a neat mechanic which makes for some pretty fun puzzles. It reminds me of some of the Zachtronics games actually, thinking ahead and writing instructions.
You could definitely push the idea in some interesting directions if you wanted to take it further.
Well done!
Neat game! Nicely done for your first time using Godot properly. I was in the similar camp there, only done really small projects beforehand, but the jam was a great way to dive deeper into the engine. I hope you learned a lot as well.
It's fun to fill out the board, the start's a bit slow, but once you get a good cash flow it's satisfying to place buildings faster and faster.
I think the game would benefit from some sort of active mechanic to keep the player's attention. Like the DNA bubbles in Plague Inc, or even just a clicker game mechanic. Anything to fill up the dead space for the player so they've always got something to focus on. I'm sure without the time constraint there'd be much more to do in the game though, and as an idle game it doesn't *really* need to be constantly engaging, but it's always a nice thing to have.
All that aside, well done with this!
Very nice job on making this a proper game experience, it reminded me of playing old flash games online. Even though there's a limited amount of content what's there felt quite polished.
I do think the camera needs to be able to move further to the right than where the houses can spawn, when I built up into the top right corner the notifactions blocked me from being able to manage things in that area.
Also definitely a range indication when building would be a nice feature, since you naturally want to optimally space apart your towers.
But overall great job to your team, it's a very charming game!
Creative use of the theme! Feels like a very retro game, something you could imagine on the NES or even earlier. Definitely tricky at times, especially when the sheep decide to run left or right when you thought you'd push them. But there's a unique appeal to it, again like playing an old game.
Well done!
Short, fun game. The goofy vibe is funny and adds a lot, I'm actually impressed the humming didn't get annoying. I always find voice acting in jam games to be very charming too. It's an old internet vibe it gives.
There's actually a lot more SFX than most games manage, which is a pretty nice thing to have. Game was pretty simple, but still enjoyable. I think some extra motivation to hold onto cards would be good, though I played on medium, maybe on hard you need to be more clever.
Nicely done!
Fun little game! Perfect idea for a jam, quick to play, has a simple to learn gameplay loop with a little bit of skill, and has a proper ending as well.
I quickly figured out that just flooring it, especially after triangulating the position, was a bad idea. It's a bit tricky but going slow was all it really took to beat that last part.
Graphics were nice as well, I do agree with others that the sound was a bit loud and sharp on the ears, but with the volume low it wasn't that much of an issue.
I enjoyed it! Well done.
Nicely done with this one!
The mood and music is really nice. Dynamic music is something *very* rare in jam games, but is done well here. Low intensity tracks shifting into higher intensity tracks always makes things feel much cooler. The SFX are also crisp and fit in well.
The environment is quite well done, the last area in particular has a great aesthetic with the lights. I think the hub area would've done well with some added lights, as it felt a little too dimly lit. There were also a few times in the game that I wasn't sure whether something was solid or a background/foreground element, though understandably it's hard to get an art style perfect in jam time.
Character design was good, I liked the choice of yellow shoes on the player character. They stand out well against the environment so it's easy to tell exactly when you're about to land. The animation is nice too.
I think having the jump only trigger when space is first pressed would've felt a little bit more responsive to player intention. Even though there's no variable jump height in this game, I think it's just a natural reflex to hold space longer than you have to, which can lead to unintended jumps.
Good job to the programmers as well for pulling everything together, it's harder to compliment all that hidden work, but I understand very well how much has to get done in the limited time.
Overall fun game! Well done to the whole team. And rest in peace Boulder.
Quite a cool game! It was able to keep my attention all the way to the end, and was pretty fun.
The translation mechanic is quite nicely done, there's a bit of strategy you can use to save on money by working out the important symbols to translate.
Music and art was quie nice, some sfx would be nice of course, but you clearly had a lot to get done during the jam.
Well done to you both!
Very well made, and excellent level of polish! There's an cool layer of strategy with the hidden enemey pieces, I had to think about the risks whenever I was moving a piece somewhere I wasn't certain about. It's quite satisfying to win in the end, certainly more than regular checkers against an AI.
Overall great job!
Quite a fun game! Art and music was great. Mechanics are simple, but it was well executed. I did figure out moving my mouse all over the place to find the shovel icon was faster than taking my time once I picked up a signal.
Also lmao, I was wondering what that explosion sound came from. I had left the game running while writing my comment.
You can get an extra half star on humour for that ;)
Fun idea, wasn't sure how I felt about the manual picking up of each tool at first, but it actually is a kinda fun loop of searching for some treasure, then dashing back to where you left your shovel to dig it out.
I think the hitboxes of the items should be a bit bigger, it's tricky to pick them up at times. I think the sensitivity was a little high which probably was a big factor to that. Adding a glow, outline or even a small popup showing the pickup key would be some good ways to make sure the player gets feedback for if they can pick up items or not.
I think with the beeping sound, having there be a longer duration between beeps the further you are from an item would be a good way to break up the monotony of it.
Regardless, nice job!
Well done on your first jam game! Even if it's mechanically simple, it's satisfying to play, and has a very nice aesthetic. I shot down all 99 planes on that final wave until they stopped spawning lol.
I hope you participate in future jams as well, I'm sure you'll continue to make some pretty cool stuff.
Nice work with the camera, most jam games don't do much with it, but having it chase and maintain that sort of angle with the player makes it feel quite dynamic.
I think some sort of boost mechanic would go a long way, letting the player decide whether to use it on upwards slopes, or right after they die. Any sort of thing to give the player something to actively focus on doing until they get close to the pickups.
Also neat aesthetic, the blue electrical paths against the purple background looks nice.
