The visuals, sounds and whole environment/atmosphere building is at very high level, as expected. But seems, game experience as itself have some issues. So, waiting for updates)

kwuwky 2025-04-08 10:25

I like everything. The pixel art is very cool, the bright colors raised my mood

revetoon 2025-04-08 21:53

Very beautiful game. Loved the graphics and sounds  I didn't completely understand the goal of the gameplay, but I managed to build some kind of facilities and made the little guys dance.

jadener 2025-04-09 20:25

I liked making them dance. Great graphics, by the way.

ruslana 2025-04-09 20:39

Lovely cute game! It was hard to understand at first how everything work and even after that wasn't easy to manage the yellow ones as they change to idle or go somewhere. Other than that the game looks very nice, sounds make it super relaxing and gameplay is cozy. Good job!

cresceda 2025-04-09 20:39

The mood in this game is great. It's lacking a bit of guidance, but the basis of a cool management system is definitely there. It's very cute and has a mysterious vibe to it, which kept me hooked for a bit :).

pandalk 2025-04-09 20:41

interesting game, I'm struggling to understand how to play it properly, my guys stop to work after a few seconds, I wouldn't mind a few explanations

aurel300 2025-04-09 20:45

This looks and sounds beautiful! The animations are smooth and the art is all quite clear and consistent, though I wasn't sure how best to see it (during the intro) without butchering the pixel ratios. In the game it seemed fine though. The music is very calming and I *really* liked the fade to a different track when looking at the tablet(?) pieces; very reminiscent of some classic point 'n click games.

Beyond that, although it was easy to figure out some of the main things I could do, such as build various buildings and what they did, I did not manage to do "enough"? Like I did not seem to get anywhere with some of the tiles with glowing eyes nor build the building that's in the bottom-right corner of the selection wheel (it kept bouncing my gray resources, but I had plenty?).

The visuals depicted on the tablet as well as the various inscriptions on the walls in whatever cipher/alphabet made me wonder what might be going on and how to unravel the story, but unfortunately the game didn't give me quite enough to pursue that... Perhaps this is how the game is "unfinished" and "overscoped" as you say :)

Good job!

is-a-hatbox 2025-04-09 20:47

Can't wait to see more of this, it has so much potential! Great visuals and sound/ambience, the little creatures voices are too cute! And there's also lore it seems (but I can't figure out the disc things). I like community sims :D. If I could suggest something, I don't know what your thoughts are on making the creatures remember their "favorite" task, they like to party too much and I need to drag them out of the disco XD

jona-scheidig 2025-04-09 20:49

Wow, this is soooooo adorable! I love the art- and sound design. There's alot of love here and one can tell. I definitly feel like this should have more reviews. Personally I'm not the point and click type, but I did enjoy games like Oxygen not Included which I think was an inspiration here, so I felt quite comfortable playing ^^

mikemikemakes 2025-04-09 20:50

The little guys are too frigging cute and I love the environmental story telling.

For me, it feels the game can use a bit more balance. It seems you need a lot more of the collector jar things than the rest. Also, it would be nice if you can't place objects somewhere they can't be used (I put a mining rig at the end of a tunnel, but it seems to do nothing there).

Controlling the little guys was frustrating, but that also fits their personality. I would personally enjoy a bit more control over them. I didn't like the loop of scrolling around, carefully clicking on a dude, then clicking on a location, and then realising that my dude is not listening and I have to do it again. Maybe making them easier to select would help with this frustration? Not sure. It all depends on how you want the interaction with the little dudes to feel.

I did enjoy that there wasn't perfect control. It made the dudes feel more alive and added to the whimsical feel of the game.

I guessed the dancing places are to keep your guys chilling in a spot you want them to be in/near? If so, that's a nice touch. It works mechanically and with the vibe of the game. Also, it was fun to see them dance AND not have them wander off. Win-win.

ybzpp 2025-04-09 20:51

Wow, game is amazing, i like graphics and sound)

kurakurture 2025-04-09 21:19

You've done an excellent job, and the result is really good! The graphics are beautiful, and the implementation of territory expansion and character animations is especially impressive.

At first, it wasn't entirely clear what to do in the game. I had to poke around everywhere until I realized I needed to click on the characters (I didn't read the instructions – I started playing right away). Sometimes you miss when clicking on characters – perhaps a pause or an enlarged collider could fix the situation. There's also a lack of feedback about successfully sending a character to work: after tapping, it's unclear whether someone has already run there or not. For comparison, the indication for expanding boundaries is done excellently.

It's very inconvenient that characters run away after work – these good-for-nothings are always drawn to dancing. Maybe they need a chain? No matter how many houses I built, the number of characters didn't increase. In the end, I was still left with my 5 characters. I tried sending them to houses, sending them to one house in pairs, building houses nearby... Nothing helped – they simply don't want to reproduce.

I built on many cells but never understood the goal of the game. Research doesn't give anything, the memorial with a broken piece of stone pizza didn't help. And the expensive thing without a price (50 + 50) didn't give anything, even though I saved up for it three times. I hope my little slaves were very happy while kicking this strange spiky thing. It doesn't remove the purple corruption, doesn't kill my little slaves, and doesn't kill monsters. What is it for?

I would continue playing further because at this point I thought that they simply didn't have time to implement everything that was planned in the game. But in any case, being in this little world was pleasant. Thank you!

kiberptah 2025-04-09 21:22

@mikemikemakes, @aurel300 thanks for the detailed feedback! We realised how much we overscoped in the last 8 hours and had to dramatically cut features and didn't even had to time to playtest properly and polish gameplay.

Hopefully will make post jam update...

kiberptah 2025-04-09 21:26

@kurakurture, thanks you for playing so much - there're a lot of bugs and we just ran into a terrible feature-creep leaving game without tutorial and a lot of other things. Dudes not spawning is a bug, although I hoped I fixed it (it should happen automatically when you have a bunch of food and houses).

We actually had monsters drawn and animated but didn't manage to add it to the game :(

5huno-3 2025-04-09 23:21

I definetely lost track of time playing this. This was such relaxing game to play. I really enjoyed it. Took some time to realize where I was supposed to place all of the facilites. But I figured it out after a while. Great work!

keely-brown 2025-04-10 00:53

Visually, everything looks really great.

Adding some sound effects to the opening might help with making it easier to follow. I had some trouble understanding what was happening during the intro.

I also didn't know what to do once in the game. Mining was the most satisfying aspect for me. Being able to make some new stuff was good but it didn't feel like the buildings had much purpose as of yet.

Maybe there was functionality that I was unable to discover?

The animation is really incredible though. And the space and quality of the interactions felt really strong. Would be really interested to see what the intention was in terms of where this would eventually be going if you had the time to flesh it out!

donutshoes 2025-04-10 04:36

Love the cute little dudes, great sound design and music. Not a huge base builder guy, but I could see myself playing this more if it were expanded with more buildings.

leorean 2025-04-10 05:46

Amazing art style and gameplay!

livelypersimmon 2025-04-10 09:59

OMG!!!I love this game! the animations and graphics designs along with the sound are killing it! Everything looks so complete in such a short time. There's not a clear direction of what to do, so I just clicked around at first, I started off observing the orange dudes working and some are dancing lol, then after a period of time it made me realized its a build up game. Still amazing! Great job!

sharky3188 2025-04-10 10:11

Beautiful, art, audio and atmosphere. I saw some comments about scope creep and i can see how that may have happened. Overall the game has a huge amount of potential, just a few UX issues i think would be great to clear up. Overall though i think its still a great entry and i played longer than i expected to.

kamizenki 2025-04-10 10:12

Lovely animation and art style. Still, it's hard for me to know what's going on in this game, the tutorial should be clearer about how to play, and what the function of those upgrade options is, maybe including some text would be helpful. But good game design and concept. Good work!

nadan 2025-04-10 10:13

Actually I am pretty sad, because I enjoy playing this game so much, it's breaking my heart that it's not finished. No, but seriously - very good job, this is truly amazing piece. Are you planning on some post-jam updates or maybe even full game release later on?

mira 2025-04-10 10:16

So cute little creatures. music, animations and graphics are great. It's a shame you didn't finish the game, I would have liked to spend the whole evening with it.

kujoen 2025-04-10 10:21

Massive achievement, even if not everything made it to the game. But if you built systems and just didn't have the time to add them, I will wait for an post-jam update to play it further :D Great job

aashen 2025-04-10 10:23

Truly a deep game with deep meaning, totally giving this one 5 stars. Animations are super smooth too and sound design is soothing!

kartoffel-licht 2025-04-10 10:24

I managed to build the thingy!!

flinge 2025-04-10 10:26

It took me a while to figure out how to do anything at all. Kind of odd that you can’t clear the storage — it’s possible to softlock yourself. Visually, though, the game is stunning. You can clearly see a lot of love and effort went into that part — it’s really well done. Maybe it just didn’t get fully finished in time, but after playing for about 10 minutes and digging pretty deep, I still couldn’t quite tell *what I was supposed to be doing*. What’s the goal? What am I working toward? The game overall reminded me of Oxygen Not Included, but in ONI there’s a clear driving force — a reason you *have* to act and make decisions. That’s what I felt was missing here. But overall this is a great job and have much potential

kahztein 2025-04-10 10:49

Really nicely made game! Love the aesthetic and mood, it feels very polished for a jam game. I think you could easily expand upon this in the future if you feel like doing so. The character designs are simple, yet have a ton of personality and life, I'm sure lots of people would love to see them in a full game.

alopar 2025-04-10 10:50

It's really cool, but it's a little frustrating that the dungeon seems to be endless and is constantly being generated. In these games, you want to get to the bottom and see what's out there. 😫

cherrybcake 2025-04-10 11:39

Whoa, what an awesome game! It's very polished, pretty impressive. And the little guys really love to dance huh XD The art is cute and it's easy to play, well done!

yoav-kagan 2025-04-10 11:45

i couldn't find the secret and just kept on digging forever haha, but had a good time regardless, very entertaining and cute well done!

yibirabbit007 2025-04-10 12:00

Hello! Your game is very interesting, but I suggest you add some necessary notes, like I'm not sure how to increase the number of baskets here

senso 2025-04-10 12:35

The pixel art is super nice, and the audio fits the theme really well. I ended up digging like 50 floors deep and noticed I had already played for over 45 minutes ,had to force myself to move on to other games. The little workers are super fun to watch, especially with their matching sound effects. Also, your menu is really juicy and satisfying to use so have to say, great job on that too!

yorsh 2025-04-10 15:12

Really cool mood! It's visually stunning. For me gameplay is kind of lacking an intent, like am I chilling building a city, or looking for something? This plus some missing feedback makes the gameplay a bit unwelcoming imo. Still a great entry, congrats!

momotiktik 2025-04-10 16:12

Ah, it's a very cute and cozy game! I really enjoyed visuals and sound/music design, and the small little mumbles of the little guys is cuuute :D but yeah, resource managers scope is always something disproportionally insane, still fun to make and design balancing/gameplay curve. And I also liked that there's a bit of an adventure promise with that mystery mural. Very nice entry!

andreadbx 2025-04-10 16:28

Omg the creatures are sooooooo cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, amazing art <3

placeholders 2025-04-10 16:52

i was blown away by the art (specifficly the dig effect!) / animations / sounds and the overall mood. beautiful work! please keep working on it, i need more tiny miners.

egor-iv 2025-04-10 17:37

nice animation

sayomgwtf 2025-04-10 20:14

What a lovely little game! I am not sure I understood much of the end goal for the game, but I sure as heck enjoyed the design and the aesthetic / mood of it. My favorite part was getting them to dance, haha

I am not sure if there is a way to get them to do the tasks you assing them to do indefinitively, it seems like they do one cycle and then stop so you have to go back and reassing them what to do - other than that, it was really adorable and fun. Played and voted!

dywanix 2025-04-10 23:22

really lovely artstyle and gameplay!

dominic-graziano 2025-04-11 03:20

cute game! took me a min to figure out the objective but very nice graphics.

uniowl 2025-04-11 08:52

I really liked the style, how it looks well together, how the lil peeps are running. Wall breaking effect in pixel art is a chiefs kiss! It took me some time to understand how to expand upon what I got at the start.

What I did not get is: - What I have to do with the obelisks? (I found three of them, there was no more around) - I suppose that expensive thingy does not have its functionality for now? - What dancing actually give for those guys? (from gameplay point of view) - Is there any interaction with vines or those purple things is planned?

As far as I got, there is no ending yet?

Overall it already was fun to play. Please tag me if you will release postjam version, I would defenitely give it a try!

kiberptah 2025-04-11 11:17

@uniowl thanks for playing! Obelisks have lore if you click on them. Expensive thingy should have protected colony form monsters but we didn't have time to add monsters. Dancing is their lifegoal, they would rather do that then anything else. There were a lot of thing planned and a lot of things cut... (like tiles synergies).

missfire 2025-04-11 22:31

It looks really fun! The graphics are beautiful and dynamic, and I love your style. The atmosphere is also layered—both mysterious and somehow soothing. I was missing a clear goal and an understanding of how to achieve it, so I just dug up everything I could and left it at that. It would be interesting to see a more fully realized version of your idea!

jojopalambas 2025-04-11 23:59

Super pretty game! A bit confused about the main goal to achieve, but very nice to build a small underground community!

jahwffrey 2025-04-12 03:00

Wow! Felt like a little video game version of Delve. I really liked it, and the murmuring sounds they make were adorable. If I had to nitpick, your game needs to explain itself more clearly, but these are game jams and sometimes you need to read directions and I do understand.

byebye 2025-04-12 14:59

Great graphics and music, good job! The only thing that was annoying that the units leave their place after finishing work and you have to click on them again.

lllarso 2025-04-15 15:06

Interesting concept. The visuals are superb! Cool animation and a well done UI, especially how you showed when a ressource is missing (jiggling).

It would have been nice to have some gameplay variety, but as you said time ran out.

The music was done really well. It was a chill vibe.

mrdumpling 2025-04-15 21:18

Looks great!

These yellow things are cute :3

All the graphics and animations of this project look amazing! :0 I would like to see this in my game "":)

The mechanics are pretty funny, but other than increasing resources it does nothing... :р

I found 4 obelisks:

2025-04-16_00-12-50.png2025-04-16_00-13-17.png2025-04-16_00-14-07.png2025-04-16_00-14-36.png

I understand that this is a complete legend (o_O) intriguing...

The plot teaser at the beginning is interesting!

I will wait for the continuation!^^

librory 2025-04-18 10:14

Nice game, could become a hit when polished)

a0405u 2025-04-21 23:57

Good entry, the mood and audio is awesome! Animations are perfect, characters are cute and funny. It reminds me of Vangers. Didn't get to the end if it was there. Had no idea of what cage does. But overall it's quite interesting even with all the flaws! Hope for the release!
